**Pre-Wedding**
-Meeting: During our first meeting with James, we instantly knew he was the best DJ/MC for our wedding. We wanted to book him on the spot, but to be safe we decided to interview more DJ/MC's. After several meetings with various vendors, James remained our number one choice.
-Communication: Throughout the wedding planning process James was always a pleasure to work with. Every time we or our coordinator emailed James, he always provided a prompt detailed response and was accommodating to our requests.
**Wedding Day**
-DJ services: My main request for the reception was to keep the dance floor packed all night. James delivered!. He did NOT disappoint! The dance floor was busy all night. Per our request he played lots of Latin, hip-hop and top 40's music. He played EVERY song/artist on our playlist--literally EVERY song on our list. We were pleasantly surprised!! Also James was able to accommodate our guest's song request. If he didn't have a song in his music library, he instantly downloaded it and it was playing at our reception in matter of seconds!
-MC services: The reception flowed smoothly thanks to James and my coordinator, Kristeen. He made sure all of our important reception highlights (cake, garter toss &etc..) were completed before my photographer left. He was a personable MC and my guests were entertained all night.
-Lighting: Highly recommend renting LED lighting through James company. His lighting transformed our ballroom beautifully!
**Post-Wedding**
Weeks after our wedding, guests are still commenting how great James was. Everyone was impressed with his MC and DJing services. Two of my friends attempted to book him immediately after they got engaged. Both brides were unable to book James, because he was booked up all year! He's THAT good. They ended up with another DJ from All Above Events and were happy with their results too.
We cannot rave enough how amazing James is. Seriously amazing! -

James did an amazing job! The first time I met with James he provided a detailed introduction about his services and made sure all my questions were answered. He has a great personality and is very easy to talk to. We were very impressed with how organized he is, he sent us templates to fill to make sure everything was clearly communicated.
The day of, James worked well with the other vendors and made sure all visual and audio was ready to go. He did a great job announcing and getting the guests excited for the grand entrance as well as announcing the other highlights during the reception. I was extremely happy with the lighting and gobo lighting, it made the room look awesome and was exactly what I imagined. We definitely have James to thank as part of our wedding day success! -

One of our TOP priorities was to have a ROARING PARTY for wedding reception and that was literally accomplished with James from All the Above Events. I know I'm not the only one because all these reviewers were right.
He was recommended to us by our trusted friend/wedding coordinators who worked with him on a previous wedding. They knew this was a priority so we trusted their judgment BUT meeting James confirmed it.
Top 5 reasons he's awesome:
1. He's professional and showed he's very experienced at what he does
2. He got the crowd PUMPED when we did our grand entrance
3. He hosted and judged the contest during our first dance as people lip-synced to it (which made it HILARIOUS).
4. He packed the dance floor which included my grandmas and quiet unsuspecting uncles!
5. He's easy to talk to and FUN!
And to be honest, my husband and I are picky! James was just THAT good. :) -

James did an excellent job DJing our wedding. He was super organized and made it easy for us to communicate our music preferences by providing spreadsheets and responding to emails very quickly. At the wedding, he did a great job with the timing and clarity of the announcements and matched our somewhat eclectic music tastes perfectly. He even managed to find some obscure music that we requested for our ceremony. All the Above Events had all the professional equipment that was needed and set it up at our venue quickly and effectively. We would recommend them to anyone!

James, from All the Above Events, was our DJ, MC, and lighting specialist for our wedding about a month ago. We thought he did an excellent job and would highly recommend him to others!
We were referred to James by a friend. James was flexible in his schedule to meet, and made us feel at ease from the very beginning. He described the various packages very well and was able to answer all of our questions. His prices are very good compared to the other DJs we checked out.
During the wedding planning process, James was very responsive. We put in ALOT of song requests (for multiple rooms), had a custom wedding party dance, wanted different lighting colors at various times, etc. and James took care of all of it.
On the day of the wedding, when we entered the reception hall, it looked beautiful! His uplighting was just perfect (and so much cheaper than the venue's). He was an awesome MC as well; very charismatic and was able to play to the crowd. He took care of all of our song requests, first dance, etc. perfectly. Everyone told us that they loved the music.
Overall, we will recommend James for our friends and family in the future. -

James is one of my favorite vendors for my wedding. When it came to song choice, I gave him a list of songs that I wanted and he filled in the gaps with songs that completed my list or theme I was aiming for. He was good about setting the mood for being tasteful yet exciting and mainstream. Just the way I like it! :D
He worked hard to cater to my crazy requests. We booked almost everything from him since we liked his professionalism. That's 25 up lights, 10 spot lights, gobo lights and projectors etc... And then it dawned on us, How is this guy going to finish everything all by himself? I'm not sure how he managed, but the day of my wedding, setup was suave and the timing was right on cue. During dress change, James even switched all the up lights from pink to blue to match my dress (that's all 25 individually battery operated lights).
What I also liked most about James as a vendor, is he makes an effort to check his emails and responds promptly at all times of the day. I once emailed him at 3am in the morning, and was shocked to find that he actually emailed me back only minutes later. -

James did our wedding this past weekend at the Nixon Library and he really is the go-to guy! He's highly organized, listens to your suggestions, and best of all - his prices are ridiculously awesome!
The day of our wedding, James was there to set up 3 hours early. He brought two entire sound systems, projector system, and I think at least 20 up lights. He did all all of this discreetly and professionally. We didn't worry for a second about the sound.
To be honest, we sent him like a million emails to change songs, intros, etc, and he never once complained. All his emails said something along the lines of "No problem, man," and he delivered for sure.
At the reception, he really got the crowd going. All we wanted was to get everyone on the dance floor, and that's what he did. There was a point in the night when all the dinner tables were completely cleared and my friends and family were doing some crazy line dance. They looked ridiculous, but I owe it to James for getting the party started.
Too bad I'm not getting married again, but if I was, i would hire James for sure! -

James is the best most awesome DJ you can get for wedding & parties!
He's so friendly and professional, talented and totally experience. If you're planning a wedding, look no further than All The Above Events and work directly with James. He'll even provide a timeline and spreadsheet for the music which is so very helpful!
Not only does he read the crowd right and play the right songs, he's also a Music Video Jockey which is amazing! What's more awesome than to have songs playing and the real music video showing in the background as well, soooo cool!
We're so thankful to have him be the DJ for our wedding, and we couldn't be more satisfied. Thank you so much James!!! -

James is by far the best MC/DJ out of all the weddings we've ever attended period. He just recently did our wedding and we could not have asked for more. Seriously, spectacular job James! Let's start from the beginning. He was available whenever we needed him and made our lives a lot easier. We gave him a list of songs that we liked and he knew exactly what kind of music we wanted. James kept the party going all the way to the end of the night. So many of our friends commented on how awesome the DJ was that night.
He was also MC and communicated extremely well with our wedding coordinator so that everything went smoothly. We honestly did not have to worry about anything because James made sure the guests had a good time. He provided all the sound system, 2 mics, and about 16 lights. James came early that day and made sure everything was working properly. His attention to detail, organization, and effort is evident and it shows throughout the night. James is really friendly and professional. He delivers nothing less than exceptional and we are so grateful! Thanks James again!!! -

James at All the Above Events was the DJ for my wedding in Ocober and I'm so glad we chose him!
From the start he was very professional and helpful. He met us at a time/location that was convenient for us to discuss what we wanted for our wedding and thenhe delivered everything we asked for. Our ceremony was on the ocean which made me nervous about the audio for the ceremony, but it was perfect. James had our family and friends dancing from the moment the reception started, pronounced my family's Polish name correctly EVERYTIME, and was fun and energetic all night, but never cheesy. James is awesome and that's all I really need to say. -

I think I should title this "Ode to James..."
To start with, we picked James up at a wedding expo. Classy, I know. It was the first, and only expo that we went to when we were out shopping for vendors for our wedding, and honestly, we were a little sketched out. Most of the people selling their 'wares' were either meatballs or way overpriced. That was until we met James. James was well equipped, well priced, and most importantly, a genuinely nice guy.
So we hired James to DJ our wedding. He knocked it out of the park.
During the ten our so months leading up to the wedding, we spoke with James in person, on the phone, and via email. He was always super prompt in his responses, very agreeable to our requests, and very patient with our questions. He provided us with his wedding planning spreadsheet, which we pretty much used to plan our whole wedding.
James provided equipment to amplify our ceremony, the setting of which was outdoors, on multiple elevations, in front of a waterfall, with limited power options. James worked directly with the site manager to coordinate everything well in advance, and there were no issues at all. In addition James also amplified a vocalist and an acoustic guitarist. James is a true professional audio engineer, and the performance sounded beautiful.
At the reception, James kept the timeline on track and the crowd happy and motivated. In the middle of the reception, when we made an impromptu change to the itinerary, James took care of it without blinking an eye. Very professional!
On to the music; It was AMAZING. The crowd at our wedding ranged from the geriatric to the pediatric, and EVEYRONE was dancing their butts off. I can't tell you how many times I heard people say, "Jeez, who's your DJ. He's awesome," or "Oh my god this is my FAVORITE song. HOW DID HE KNOW???" I mean wow. Just wow.
Overall, we cannot recommend James enough. I know thirty years from now when we look back we'll have no idea who the caterer was, or the name of the car service, but damned, we're going to still be talking about our DJ!

We hired James for our wedding on 10/22/2010 in LBC on the Majestic yacht and he was great. He was our DJ and MC. He helped us out alot and did whatever we asked and had no problems with it. He was great and easy to work with as far as the planning. All of our guest enjoyed him and we have no complaints!

We hired James to be our DJ/Emcee for our wedding reception. He is very professional, organized, and accomodating. He was easy to work with and very timely.
We were so impressed that we also hired him to do the lighting for the reception.
We had a variety of different people at our wedding, and James was able to fully accomodate to everyone at our reception.
Best part, James is affordable and works with any budget. -

Leading up to the wedding day, James was very organized and attentive to the details of the event. He was easy to reach if needed. Provided us with easy to use spreadsheets to help manage the song selections and timeline.

James DJ'd our wedding and was great! We got cocktail hour, reception, lights, and a great DJ for a really good price! I'd definitely recommend James to our friends and use him again. He also helped keep us on time which was huge! He knew what music worked and what didn't, was patient, and really easy to work with. Plus he knew how to pump up the crowd. You won't regret hiring him.

We loved James! He met with my husband and I and answered all our questions. He is very VERY organized which really helps any bride and groom planning their wedding. He provided us with lists to fill out if we had specific songs we wanted played. Everyone at our wedding loved him, especially us! My only advice is only let your guest put in song requests to James if you REALLY want them to request songs hahaha because they WILL request songs and all your (bride & groom) favorite songs might not have time to get played (if you have to leave the venue at a certain time). But ALL our guests loved him and so did we!

oh gosh, i owed this to James! it's a long over due review~
How we found James:
our wedding was on 10.10.10 and i must say, if you are Asian, it's a pretty popular date for wedding!!
we met James thru a bridal expo @ long beach back in January 2010. He left me a very good impression. he's very professional, kind and most importantly funny! :)
we didn't book him right there but he was def. on my list.. before we left his booth, i whispered @ my husband and said.. "he's Asian, he's gotta be good! And.. he has a Chinese last name, he can probably MC in Chinese " LOL anyway, next thing you know, we booked him during the summer~ in fact, we didn't really look else where.. i guess you call this "love at first sight!!" :) ..read on how we love him... there's more! :D
Consultation:
James is very flexible with his potential client's schedule (as you can see from others' review). my working schedule is very hectic and i don't usually get off until after 7pm. James was very accommodating with my schedule and even drove from LA thru the horrible 405 traffic to meet me by my work! that's already an "A" for me! :)
or perpahs he really wants my business .. just playing!
He spent almost 2 hours with us and explain his work and he was very patient listening to us and our story, answering our questions and he also showcase his work to us. I was very impressed. we also talked about MC'ing for us and that's when i found out he doesnt speak chinese ! LOL (it would be a nice to have for us but it's ok James is cool!)
10.10.10 was a super popular date and James got many inquires and quotation requests.. but i guess James like us more ~ :) hehe
you know, wedding is expensive and every couple has to work with their budget, myself included. James was sooOoOoo nice that he listened our concerns and our stores of almost losing our 1,000 venue deposit at that time, so he worked with us and we were able to meet in the middle of our budget. win-win business, James you made us a very happy client!!
Pre-Wedding
James def. did a fantastic job on following up and on communication! we have exchanged a few emails up to the big day.
I also requested to meet in person again @ our venue so he can take a first look and be familiar with the layout and set up for the day of.
A week before the wedding, we did a phone walk thru of our "draft" timeline for the day of.
Day of Wedding
I LOVE pink and i mean i LOVE PINK! and of course u guess it, my wedding theme color also incorporate with lots of pink....
i bet James probably was in shock when he saw my vendor dress code request.. LOL yes, i asked him to wear pink on the day of!.. Don't worry, i was being very nice LOL i told him, it doesnt has to be that PINK. as long as he has a hint of pink is ok :)
well, next thing you know, on the day of, he showed up very suited and booted in a light pink strip dress shirt! OMG, i adore him! A++ for me! LOL James you are the greatest!
ok back to the real deal.. James did an amazing job on the day of our wedding. We told him how we want to start our 1st dance with a spin.. using Justin Bieber's hit (oh by the way, my hubby's name is Justin!) and he did us good!
James was also our MC and he MC'ed very well thru-out our wedding.. he even helped us with the blind fold using his own tie (as we forgot to prepare ours) during game time.
James mixed the music so good that everyone had such a great time on the dance floor and no one want to leave until after 11pm (it's consider late as our wedding was on a Sunday!)
Post Wedding:
We got so much great compliments of James after our wedding.. esp. from my father in-law!!! that's HUGE!! my father in-law was soooOOo impressed with James that he told me so many times that he liked him!
James, here's to YOU! cheers!! you truly did an amazing job on our special 10.10.10 wedding!

James was referred to us by a friend who had seen his work at a wedding and loved him. We were having a simple luncheon wedding and needed someone to DJ for a few hours and when we met with James, we knew he was a perfect match for our needs. He was always prompt and attentive in his emails, super organized, and gave us a very fair price. He is extremely knowledgeable and helped us with all of our music choices. We had many people comment at our wedding on what a great MC/DJ James was. We were so confident knowing that James would be handling everything and we could relax and enjoy our day.

We hired James for his DJ and lighting services, for our wedding on 11/06 at the Marriott MDR.
Pros/Highlights:
- At our Initial meeting, he came fully prepared with his laptop, and even went through a personalized and simulated timeline/outline
- He was very reachable during the DJ search process, and quick to revise & send out contracts.
- He was very flexible and most importantly, upfront with what extra services he could and could not provide. If he didn't have it, or couldn't get you better pricing, he tells it like it is.
- When I needed to meet him 2 wks prior to the wedding, to assess his K Pop portfolio, he was very accommodating.
Day of:
- He was timely for the reception, and adequately prepared for our video slideshow, which was the most important piece for us, because it set the mood for the entire reception.
- Audio controls were great, essential to our video & slideshow.
- His music selection and improv for the dance contest worked well; he had great chemistry with our MC, whom he worked with for the first time.
- I was able to reach him the night before our wedding, for a last minute request (re:uplighting), and he got back to me earlier than anticipated.
There were only two cons - if any - throughout the whole process, considering how much we asked of him. In every other case, he either delivered as promised or exceeded our expectations. For one, he became too busy to meet up the final 10 days leading up to our wedding, arguably the most critical time we needed him; he was available on only one evening. We then tried to coordinate a three-way conference call with our MC, same result. Fortunately, I was able to manage the version controls for our Master Timeline sheet. The second issue dealt with our desire for a bilingual MC, which he had a business partner with whom he works. This MC became all of a sudden unavailable, leaving us to scramble to find one on our own. Not entirely James' fault, he did make some amends and worked with us on other parts of the contract.
Overall, James is a highly competent and energetic professional who loves what he does, and is very reliable. Some of our guests went up to him afterwards to get his card for future bookings. We highly recommend him, as he provides the best value in all of LA. Trust me, we spoke to many other DJs and none come close to what James offers. -

James did a great job for us at my wedding this month. Great first impression, very responsive to phone call and email. Set up everything early. Uplights he did for us made the room look awesome ( i originally did not want uplight but my gf convinced me, glad she did). He has good suggestions but will do what you want. Willing to meet you anywhere convenient. Did a great MC and Dj job. One of our friends has already booked him.

James did a GREAT job in terms of time management so my wedding flew really well and smoothly. He gave us a lot of great suggestions and advises during consultation and meetings so we had a better idea how it'll turn out. We didn't give him much personal preference because of our lack of knowledge of songs, but we were confident that he'll do a GREAT JOB. And we were absolutely right! Everyone (including us) loved everything he played and had so much fun. Everyone was telling me how great he was!! I am very happy that we made the right choice! :) Thank you SO MUCH James. James provided LED Uplighting for my wedding. Unfortunately, by the time I found him, we had already booked our wedding DJ/MC so we did not use his service for that and so our review will be based on our experience with him to acquire uplighting for our wedding. It was such a pleasure working with James. From our very first meeting, he was friendly and energetic and accommodating. He arrived on time and with equipment ready to show us what he is able to do as far as LED Uplighting goes. He provided an affordable uplighting package that was more than enough, even for the large size reception room we had. James always made himself available to us via phone or e-mail, he was able to make come to life the vision I had for the uplighting in our reception room and during one point of our planning when my husband and I had to change our wedding date, he kindly accommodated us with no problems and on the wedding day, he took care everything personally. The uplighting was gorgeous and our guests raved about it! I have no doubt that James is an excellent DJ/MC as well & I will definitely recommend him to anyone I can. Thanks again James!
