I have rafted the Deschutes in Oregon and the White Salmon in Washington with All Star Rafting, and I had an amazing time on both of my trips.
The guides on both rivers were excellent. On the Deschutes our guide was a very experienced young woman who had been leading rafting trips for a number of years. On the White Salmon, our guide was a man who had been kayaking for years, and the techinical skills that he shared with us and his love of the river made the trip great. I felt very safe in the hands of both of these experienced individuals.
I had a better time on the Deschutes because the rapids are rated a bit higher so the river offers more excitment, but it's still okay for kids. We were able to ride on the front of the boat for some of the lower rated rapids, and there is an area of the river where we were allowed to jump in which was really fun. Plus, it was a full day trip complete with a picnic lunch. It was just typical picnic fare, nothing special but it still hit the spot.
I enjoyed the White Salmon as well, but it was a fairly lazy river until the end where you go over a waterfall. We jumped off a bridge too, and I enjoyed that but the river itself was a bit boring for my tastes. Plus, the water was very cold. Wet suits were required on this trip so we were okay unless the water was choppy.
I would recommend this company to anyone, but please, go SOBER! Rivers are very dangerous, and I know several people who have had close calls on the Deschutes. Being alert is critical to your safety and to the safety of those with you. -

I am sunburned and exhausted thanks to All Star Rafting. Yes, this is a good thing.
Wow, another awesome trip down the Deschutes. I've led a group down the last few years - the (ever-changing) group however has been going for 16 years, all with All Star, and all with great results. We've never had a problem with our reservations, shuttles, or delivery. Everyone is super friendly and helpful and makes sure we have a fantastic time.
Special thanks this year to Brody for all of his help with getting our group exactly what we wanted, and to Chris for the Deschutes Pizza Company recommendation (review on that coming soon). -

Just went rafting this past weekend with my mother and we had a FABULOUS time with All Star. We had funny, knowledgeable, and skilled guides (thanks Russell and Mac!), who knew how to make it a great trip for everyone from age 9 to 63. Gorgeous on the Deschutes River, and Maupin is a fun small town perfect for relaxing and getting some sun. Definitely recommend this group!

This was our first time rafting and we picked the perfect company to go with! The tour guide(s), especially Brody, did a fantastic job taking us through the different class of rapids, creating a memorable and fun experience for us. Thanks to All Star for making our vacation more fun than expected!!!
