i was referred to this shop by my car insurance. got my windshield replaced June of 2011. the technician came to my work and got the work done. it was easy.

a few days ago, the moulding came off. i called on Tuesday, and got scheduled Wed 1 to 5pm. the store manager, Mark, was sent. he called me at 1pm on Wednesday. i was still out at lunch, but talked him through where my car was in the lot (i am surprised he was not annoyed at me). by the time i was back at my office ten minutes later, work was done. look as new. Mark was very nice. he even glue down the other side for me just to make sure it won't come flying off.

i'm happy with their customer service.

Classic! Classic Bait & Switch that is. I had a few $250 - $300 range quotes to replace my windshield.  I found All-Star Glass through a larger referral site, http://PROSTARAutocare.... They took my specific car info: year, make, model, trim style,  a convertible Saab.
After scheduling the wrong day & a lengthy delay by Bernadette to find out what kind of glass they had, we re-scheduled. The quote was a very reasonable $218 including tax & installation at my home. The tech showed up & began working.
Bernadette called me a few minutes later saying that the tech said my vehicle has a metal fitting around the window & that the tech needed to get a special tool to remove it. The cost was going to increase $230. Yes, the increase itself (to about $440) was MORE than the original estimate which included the glass. So with  specific automobile information, an experienced auto glass company & a tech at my vehicle, they tell me that they didn't know what my car needed to install the windshield. Luckily, the tech seemed aware that this occurs & hadn't yet ripped into my vehicle. I sent him away & let Bernadette know that this was not acceptable. I believe this company intentionally baited my business with a low ball quote only to more than double it with a tech in my driveway & my time scheduled to accommodate a 4-hour installation period.

first off this review was long over due...

All Star Glass did a great job. i had them replace my front windshield and a year later, a rock chip that developed while driving on 280.

the first time i went there they pulled and replaced my windshield. they can typically get to you fast and it doesn't take them that long to remove and install. prices are reasonable.

the rock chip i got while driving on 280 was repaired the next day so it didn't spread. rock chip repair was fast and i didn't have to wait to get into the shop.

i am a satisfied customer and i will return if i need any auto glass services in the future.

customer service is friendly and the workers are respectful.

All the driving I do every day finally caught up with me.  It started with a sizeable chip on my windshield.  Like a cancerous mole, it started changing in shape and size.  Then, a crack started on the lower right.  Every day it continued to extend until east and west were one.

I put off replacing the windshield because I hate dealing with car stuff.  i don't like calling around for quotes, taking my car into the shop or dealing with mechanics or parts sales people although I eventually end up doing it because if I don't, who will?  This is mostly because of the crappy dealings I had with the Nissan service department on Capital Expressway but I digress.

Then some people scared me into believing that my windshield would shatter and thereby disfigure me and I am not ok with that.  So, based on Niki N.'s review and some comparison shopping, I went with All Star.

I called to schedule an appointment and they came to the parking lot of my office the next day.  Within an hour, I had a new windshield and about a month later, it's still intact so that's good.

Tech came out when they said he would and finished quicker than he said it would.  Windshield looks the same minus the cracks.  No issues.

Price came in just where I expected it to.

Not sure if this is the local office, but this company serves all of CA. I called 1-800-225-4185.

I had to replace a windshield, scouted around the San Jose area for the lowest price for my make which was $165, but Yelp reviews for that auto glass shop seemed mostly to be people replacing side windows or rear windows and who were okay with "used" glass and "getting what you pay for." After a bit of internet research, there were a couple safety issues I wanted to know: What kind of glass, something about a rain sensor, what kind of adhesive, and price.

All the places I called asked if my windshield had a rain sensor, being as the car is new to me and I didn't know, All Star was the only company that took down my VIN# to figure it out. Their quote was the highest, but I was able to talk them down about $60 from their original quote. All the companies told me their glass was generic but met all fed. regulations and that their adhesive was no doubt "the best."

In the end, I accepted my own auto repair ignorance and decided to go for a comprehensive website, the concern my service rep expressed over the safety and quality of the $165 quote, the discount, the free mobile service, reputation, lifetime service waranty and 1-year manufacturer's waranty that All Star Glass provided. I would rather pay more for quality assurance and to feel good instead of sketched out after walking away paying a price that I knew was way too low.

When the technician arrived, I had just locked myself out of my house. He was able to work with me to open the car up from the inside. Before long, another technician arrived. Their service was impeccable. They helped me get back into my house and even scraped off the rest of the tree sap on my sunroof. All in all it was a very pleasant experience. They were happy and forthright in answering all my questions and with a lifetime service guarantee, I feel can good about the transaction.

    Highly recommended.

I have had my windshield replaced twice in two years, I swear I have back luck with them. Both times I have called them up, the first time it was a mobile install. I can't remember how long it took install. So I will just tell u about yesterday.

Called at 9am, asked for a install that day, they had nothing for that day for a mobile install, but had a in house appointment at 2pm. Since they are literally down the street from my house, just easier to come down there. Get there lady behind the counter tells me a installer would be right with me. A min later he comes asks me show the car, he inspected it, said it would take 30 to 45 min. So I take a seat. 25 min later he was done.  That was QUICK! Pay my bill, and out the door! Great service and quick. I will for sure be back if I have a problem (I hope not because I hate replacing it). If I do come back, and there is a chip, I'm getting it fixed here. Alot cheaper to fix than replace. Totally recommend this place!

I wanted to use Stevens Creek Honda due to great history with their service but they weren't in the network of vendors that my insurance would pay for glass.  S.C. Honda referred All-Star from the list of approved companies.  All star set up an appointment to do the work at my place a day or so later.  Contradictory to another review, it was Bernadette who helped me and she was perfectly helpful.

Installation went fine.  The installer found and pointed out a small flaw in the glass.  He located another piece of glass and installed it a day or two later.  He could have just installed the first one without saying anything but took the high road.

found them online through yelp.  they have an online discount that if you mention, they actually give it to you.  my mom's daewoo recently was broken into and i needed a new driver's side rear window.  this company was cheap, quick, friendly, and easy to deal with.  i had to reschedule a few times with them and i never felt like they were annoyed with me.

the only bad thing i noticed is that the quality of the glass' finish isn't too good, but at this point i was more concerned about getting it installed for a competitive price.

i'll definitely go here again if i needed more glasswork (but hopefully i will never need to...)

timely & professional.  used all star for a windshield replacement last week and so far so good.  called for a quote on tuesday, they came out to my work on wednesday, badda bing badda boom..windshield replaced!

all star was not the cheapest quote i received, but they are a national company with a good reputation so i thought it would be worth it..especially after getting burned by a smaller shop.  i'm glad i went with them.

My truck was recently broken into.  Bastards!  But back to the review ... they broke the vent window to gain entry.  Called around for prices to replace the window.  Many of the places I called said they could not locate the glass I needed.  One shop suggested I call a local junk yard.  I did and they couldn't find one either.  One national chain said he could get it, but it would cost over $600 and he had to ship it from out of state.  Geez buddy, if you don't want my business just say so.  Fortunately, All Star Glass could get the glass and installed it the next day.  30 minutes later and a little over $100 lighter, the vent window was good as new.  One star off for the waiting room ... one rocking chair, some uncomfortable chairs, a few old magazines and coffee are the amenities.

Someone broke the passenger car window and stole a briefcase. It happens. Called All Star Glass on Thursday. They said they could do it the next morning, would take one hour. Next morning when we take the car in, they said they screwed up, they did not have the part, and would have to order it. Incompetence is not cool.

Come the following Tuesday, they say they have the part and will come replace it the next morning.

The next morning, installer says it will take him 1 hour.  Two and a half hours later, the installer says it is the wrong part. Get this: there is only one part for that year/make/model. I confirmed it with the dealer. Twice.

Installer insists he knows what he is doing. But then he calls someone else out for help. When I question installer, he says, maybe the year of the car is wrong. I show him how the VIN confirms the year of the car. Installer says maybe the manufacturer got it wrong.

Yeah, so, it is not the installer who is wrong, it is the company that built the car, the company that sells the parts to the car, the company where All Star Glass got the part from in the first place, that is wrong.

Rather than just admit he did not know what he was doing, the installer -- and then the manager -- continued to insist it was the wrong part.

The window actually went in. The window was actually able to go up and down. But because of a small alignment issue, these morons would rather claim it was the wrong part rather than admit they don't know how to install it properly.

To insist you are right, in the face of clear evidence that you are wrong, is moronic.

Fortunately, needing auto glass is a rare occasion, so I will probably never have to use them again. But you should keep this story in mind before you think about using them.

I had a small chipping off my front windshield about the size of a dime. It wasn't in my line of driving sight. I went to get it repaired at ALL STAR for 30$. I was told that the damage wouldn't completely disappear but it would prevent from getting the entire windshield replaced. I was OK with that.

The manager/mechanic set out to do the repairs. After 10 minutes I realized that it was done but he did not. For some reason he kept at it with a heavy metal object. Very carelessly he hit the windshield with this and boom! Cracks spread out in all directions. The windshield was rendered beyond repair by him.

It is a very cunning business plan. They get the customers to repair the windshield for 30$ and in the process of repairs, they manage to break it and now the customers have to pay a humongous amount to replace it. They quoted me 220$ after taking 30$ (repair cost) off it. That's all they offer as a guarantee. They don't even say sorry for breaking your windshield!

If they find you have insurance for your car they quote you a bloated price. Most people are made helpless after seeing the amount of damage to the windshield and end up paying whatever price they quote, fixing a mistake of ALL STAR GLASS! The chipping could be my fault but breaking my windshield is their fault.

They also make you sign a waiver stating "ZERO guarantees" for windshield repairs and replacements which leave you absolutely very little wiggle room. If they can't fix a small crack can they really fix a new windshield?

Beware of getting cheap service from them. It's not as cheap as it seems!

I chose All Star to replace my windshield after an incident with a rock.  the work was done in about an hour (three days after the first time the tech came to my home since they had the wrong windshield the first time).  Upon closer inspection, their "expert" tech sliced through 2 roof molding  trim pieces and scratched the paint all the way to the metal in one spot and chipped to the primer in 3 other spots.  He caused $1000 in damage and never said a thing about it.    After the damage was repaired at the expense of All Star, they installed the WRONG windshield.... How many times can you mess up one windshield installation?

I will never use them again, and I would highly recommend going elsewhere.

My review is purely off the customer service I had when calling for a quote. Not only was the quote online 200 dollers less then what they told me, the women I spoke with (bernadett) was a complete air head and I really mean that she had no idea what she was doing. SHe had no knowledge of cars and was completly confused about diferent types of windshields, im not quite sure if she even knows she works for a windshelid repair shop. Completly frustrated with almost arguing with the women about my car I decided to go with Power Auto Glass, they helped me and gave me honest quote and I had an appointment in less then 10 min. The extra star for this place is they give you a 10 doller discount for going online. Other wise dont waste your time.

After my windshield was hit by a rock, a 12-inch crack appeared.  I called All Star Glass to schedule an appointment, as they offered an Internet discount.  Although my initial appointment had to be rescheduled, due to the stormy weather and lack of shelter at my office, they were very prompt; the original appointment was scheduled for a Thursday and the new appointment was at my home on Saturday.  The installer who came over was very nice and personable and completed the entire project in less than 45 minutes.  He did not leave any mess or debris around my vehicle either.  He advised me of initial precautions to take while it was sealing.  I thought the price was reasonable, too.  It ended up being about half of what my husband and I had anticipated.

Overall a very positive experience. This was a referral from Larry Hopkins Honda. Booking was easy and professional, the installer came to my work address in the designated time window and fitted the windshield. The aftermarket glass is a touch lower quality than the original (very minor wobbles vs perfectly flat Honda glass) and shield was installed touch higher than the original. However these are minor points; and at 1/4 the dealer quoted price am very happy!
