I gotta say, I gotta rate this dentist 5 stars for sure. I was in pain 2 weeks ago on a late friday night and because my regular dentist isn't open on saturdays, I had to look for a dentist that worked weekends. I called his office and was told to come in within an hour...boy was I relieved...my toothache was killing me! Anyways, when I arrived, the cute receptionist and Dr. Ho...were super friendly and caring. After an exam & x-rays..I was told that there was a cavity and my tooth needed to be pulled, so he told me to come back the next day. Wow !!! He saw me on Easter Sunday!
He was very gentle when numbing and shooting my gums before the extraction, I felt very little pain. Not all dentists are this way, believe me!
Because, I had no insurance with him, I had to pay cash but I mentioned his $145 Yelp special..and it saved me a lot of money. I think the HMO with my other dentist would have charged more, unfortunately he only takes PPO . Anyways...thank you Doctor Ho !!! -

My first dental visit went really well. Dr. Ho was very thorough with getting my X-rays done. He was also patient in answering all my questions. He also explained to me what my insurance covered.
I had my cleaning done and he was excellent. I didn't feel any pain during the procedure and he was very sociable during he whole visit.
Sadly, his practice only accepts PPO plans. Overall, I would definitely recommend him to anyone. -

these guys were on my list of insurance coverage and out of the list i checked them all out on yelp. i chose all smiles because of the rave reviews on yelp.
after choosing them i soon found out that i hit the jackpot.
best dentist & best staff.
they are great!
i had all four of my wisdom teeth pulled and it was a cinch. i came back for more fillings and night guard. the whole staff was fabulous.
my ridiculous insurance coverage were being incompetent and Kyle helped me out and made sure my paperwork was straightened out. Sharon and other dental assistants were so kind and professional. Dr. Ho made everything easy and is so great at what he does.
i really lucked out. not only were they so professional but they are really kind and courteous people. -

This is one of my first yelp reviews, because I usually dont find the time. But my experience with Dr. Ho was the best i've EVER had with any dentist!
I had the last tooth on the top right side pulled out. On the way to Dr. Ho I was scared I knew the tooth had to be pulled and it scared me, because I have had two teeth pulled prior to this one (all teeth by different dentist) and those experiences were terrible and very painful. So I was expecting the same. But I got the complete opposite! He was incredibly nice and patient with me. He gave me very affordable prices. And the best part is its been 3 days and I have had almost no pain since he pulled it!
I'm never going elsewhere. Dr. Ho is an amazing dentist!!!!:) -

If you are looking for a new dentist, you do not need to look any further. Dr. Ho is the best there is. Seriously, I, like other reviewers, would give him 10 stars if Yelp would let me. Here are three reasons why:
1) To quote Dr. Ho, "I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I didn't treat my patients like I would want to be treated." This really sums up Dr. Ho's ethics. He will only perform dental work that is necessary and never tell you that you need expensive and/or unnecessary procedures or products. This alone is reason enough for a 5 star rating.
2) Pain-free fillings. Dr. Ho filled my 4 cavities in about an hour on a Saturday afternoon. I was expecting to have lots of pain once the anesthetic wore off, but instead, I felt NOTHING. No tooth pain whatsoever! I am not exaggerating. I could not believe it. Dr. Ho has the magic touch.
3) Availability and Friendliness. Everyone in the office is very courteous and they go out of their way for their patients. The office is even open on Saturdays! I've always been able to get an appointment quickly and am treated like an old friend by everyone. I never thought that I would ever look forward to going to the dentist until I started coming to All Smiles.
I could go on and on about how amazed I am with All Smiles Dental. Instead, I'll end it with this: If you're reading through Yelp trying to find a new dentist in SF, then stop looking now and call Dr. Ho. You will not regret it!
(P.S. He also has an office in San Mateo for those of you on the Peninsula.) -

If I could rate this business ten stars I would which you can see from my past 700 plus reviews should mean something.
Recently took a vacation to San Fran only to find out that an inflamation and much pain was growing near my nose making me resemble an extra on the" planet of the apes"
It was a Sunday and the pain was so excruciating that i feverishly scanned yelp reviews looking for a dentist in the Bay area. One yelper stated that Dr. Ho recieved and replied to emails asap. So upon writing him a desparate email to see if he could fit me in on Monday . Dr Ho responded within 5 minutes that not only could he see me but he could see me in a couple of hours.
I am very new to SF but finding his office was a breeze and the area of West Portal is quite quaint and peaceful. His office was a mere 2 blocks away from the train terminal.
I was greeted with a very friendly welcoming and was whisked in right after a happy smiley customer exited his chair. Lab work and consultation was a mere 80 dollars and a root canal would be the trick to remedy my solution.
Dr Ho was so gentle and soft spoken and although I wanted to avoid a root canal like the plague I agreed to meet him the next day to endure whatever suffering was needed to get rid of this god awful pain.
The next day I returned and was again met with friendly smiles from Doctor HO, but also a very nice group of staff and not only was the root canal done in an hour , I didnt feel any pain.
Yes PAIN FREE.
It was the best and breeziest root canal ever and his pricing point was so reasonable that it made me wonder if flying back to SF was better financially than seeing my own dentist in Canada for future work.
I didnt leave my heart in SF just some tooth nerve endings and a new found trust in dentists and a loyal clientship to DR. HO
Ten stars folks....just 42 shy of the american flag -

It was Friday, the weekend before Christmas weekend and my wisdom tooth (upper right) was throbbing with constant pain. My regular dentist must have been out of town because it took forever for him to call me back from the message I left on the emergency line.
Long story short I read the reviews and thought I'd call to see if I could be seen by someone and to my luck, Dr. Ho was able to take me in. Customer service was A++! Dr. Ho and the rest of the staff try to make you feel very comfortable and that you are their top priority. I am forever grateful to have ended up in his chair because I don't think anyone else would have handled my situation any better. Thanks again All Smiles Dental Staff for handling my desperate situation with top priority!

I had a terrible revelation one night as I looked into my mirror and saw blackness growing on my tooth! I scheduled an immediate appointment with my dentist but they were unable to see me until the next week.
Day before the appointment I am going over my dental insurance dentist options and I find Dr. Ho, one of the very few in-network dentists with glowing reviews. I sent him an email via his webpage and he LITERALLY called me back within two minutes. Impressive? Not yet!
I explained my situation and my growing panic that I might have to resort to a root canal and, even though he was completely booked for the day, told me to hurry in after work and he'd take a quick look. VERY IMPRESSED.
As other reviewers have stated, Dr. Ho exhibited an excellent bedside manner that made me feel extremely comfortable.
Long story short, I cancelled my appointment with my regular dentist and moved all my shtuff to Dr. Ho. Also, he is an in-network provider with my dental insurance which is an extra plus.
I recommend anyone and everyone to check him out, especially if your insurance allows it. He's been extremely helpful in guiding me through the process of switching my insurance. It's always Dr. Ho that emails or calls you back. How's that for professionalism?? -

This place is fantastic!!! I dread going to the dentist, but Dr. Ho and his staff made it a great experience. He was the most gentle Dentist I have ever gone to. He is also very caring and compassionate. The man lives by his ethics and that is something that you can admire about anyone. I would recommend him to your friends, partners, moms, dads, who ever. Seriously, if you are looking for a new Dentist or just want to have a nice conversation to great people, stop in.

After a horrific experience and gross misdiagnosis at a fancy shmancy dentist in San Mateo, I was referred to Dr. Ho by a close friend.
He has single-handedly, and successfully, restored my hope in all dentist-kind. He truly cares about your teeth, your health, and your money. The accommodation, patience, and skill that he provides as a dentist is more than anyone could ever ask for.
I have and will continue to recommend his practice to anyone and everyone who will listen. I cannot stress enough to others how important it is to have a dentist that you can trust, especially when others out there will tell you that you need 10 fillings when you really only need 2.
Even though I am relocating two states over, I intend to keep my business with Dr. Ho as long as I can. With something as important as your teeth, you really can't afford to not have the best. -

I was experiencing terrible pain in my tooth and Dr Ho gave me immediate relief. He recognized I probably needed a root canal, put me on anti biotics, and soft pain killers and the pain stopped within 24 hours. Then he set me up with a specialist in root canals who did excellent work.
He's also very gentle with the cleanings and check-up. He's a great dentist. Thank you Dr HO! -

Today was my first appt with Dr. Ho. I took a chance because he was on my insurance provider's list . Dr. Ho was awesome. Very nice fellow who personally cleaned my teeth, made sure i was comfortable, and did not oversell me on unnecessary procedures. He seems very down to earth, skilled and knowledgeable in what he does. He took the time to tell me what was going on with my teeth and reminded me to floss daily.
I did not want to go back to my previous dentist who shall not be named but are way overpriced and make you believe that your teeth are in the worst condition so you will shell out more money for services so they can pay for the building they bought to house their dental practice in.
Overall, I highly recommend Dr Ho. -

Reviewing someone on talent alone, I would say Dr. Ho is an amazing dentist. I have been to many dentists that tear up your gums and make you extremely anxious just over a normal teeth cleaning b/c they care nothing about patient care. Dr. Ho conducts patient-centered cleanings, checking in about pain sensitivity, etc. It didn't even seem like he was touching my teeth at all throughout the cleaning! He is very friendly and has been post-graduate for several years.
As always, I explore both pros and challenges of a business. Being that he is a one-man team, the appts get packed! They were running behind schedule, and asked me to come in later. Unfortunately, hubby had to go to work and use the car so I could not. They ended up re-scheduling another willing patient. He was not at all perturbed, noting that Dr. Ho has treated him well. I opted not to buy dental insurance, as I only need routine cleanings, and the cleaning/x-rays were quite pricey as compared to other dentists. It would be nice to have an assistant to hold the water and suction tools b/c some water kept spraying on my face as he did his magic.
Alas, minor prices to pay for quality dental service, particularly for Yelpers/patients who may have heightened anxiety going to the dentist. -

We first starting going to see Dr.Ho at All Smiles last year. A friend of ours recommended another dentist but we wound up here by accident, and what luck that was! Now we recommend Dr. Ho to literally everyone we hear of who needs a dentist. He is the most affordable dentist either of us has come across. He is also extremely accommodating, coming in on weekends and allowing us to reschedule without penalty when needed. Further more, he is friendly and efficient! I cant express enough our gratitude for all the little ways Dr. Ho makes going to the dentist a more pleasant experience! Not to mention the complimentary tooth care pack at your first visit and the occasional meter card to help ease the West Portal parking situation. We have every confidence in All Smiles & Dr. Ho as our family dentist :-)

First, All Smiles Dental is OPEN ON SUNDAY, which is when I called in excruciating pain from a toothache. Dr Ho saw me almost immediately, took x-rays, and confirmed I had an absessed tooth that needed a root canal ASAP. He went above-and-beyond to get me appropriate painkillers (offering to drive to the 24-hour pharmacy), and followed up with me by phone for a few days after I got a root canal (with an endodontist), even though he's not my regular dentist. Dr Ho has a really gentle demeanor and even handled my crying with ease. I got the sense he could really understand how brutal intense tooth pain can be.
Don't be put off by the office and building, which are nothing special -- my regular dentist had all the latest equipment but never identified my issue, which apparently had existed for some time. -

the BEST dentist I've ever been to, hands down. There are too many compliments to list them all. Every possible category for evaluation is a 5-star in my opinion. I love the location as well (just a block from a couple bus lines including the 48 and the K). You won't ever want to see a different dentist. Seriously.

I have been a dental patient of this location for more than a year now. I came in needing a lot of work done and he took action right away. He performed the initial exam (x-rays and cleaning).
I hadn't been taking as good care of my teeth as is needed. He reminded me the importance of flossing regularly. This inspired me to take action on it, and now I am flossing on a more regular basis.
When I went back for a check up and cleaning recently. I received positive feedback that affirmed the positive change in my dental hygiene! What more could a person that enjoys eating with a full set of teeth want! :)
He generously sent me home with an abundance of dental floss. It was through his office that I first learned about Fluoride mouth rinse. I didn't know it existed. (It's even available at Walgreen's.) I just bought some to use at home. It's great. -

My husband and I have been searching for a dentist for a while and luckily through Yelp, we found Dr. Ho! He is very caring, very professional and got excellent skills! Dr. Ho is awesome from the first visit. He took the time to go through our X-ray to tell us what's wrong with which tooth and suggested to us timelines to treat them based on severity of the cavity. While he is treating us, he listens and always cares how we feel. He worked with us on the copay. I have very low sensitivity to anesthetic. He always took the time to wait for me. He waited me for 20 minutes at a time. You won't regret going to Dr. Ho's!

I originally found Dr. Ho because he was the only dentist with a good reputation that accepted the janky internet "discount dental" plan I got since I can't afford insurance. It turns out that I made a good decision: even though it's not as close as my other dentist, Dr. Ho has done a great job on my mouth thus far. I've also found him to be very reasonable in terms of helping find a way to pay for your work (he offers a payment plan), which is helpful for those of us with persistently bad teeth and low incomes (I swear to god I floss every day... still bad teeth).
I'm also into the fact that he never leaves me waiting, his dental assistant Kathy is very caring and competent, and he does almost all the work himself. I've been to some dentists where I was literally being worked on by the same dentist as a person in the next room, at the same time! Like, with the dentist running back and forth. Umm, not cool!
Anyway, this place is great. The only reason I hesitate to write a review is that soon there will be so many patients that I won't be able to get in anymore! -

Dr. Cuong Ho was recommended to me 5/2010. I was very hesitant to switch because I had my other dentist for a long long time. As I aged, it is essential that I have my dental work done near where I live, so I scheduled a very simple filling to try out.....and I was impressed.
Dr. Cuong Ho has my highest rating for skill and personality. My front teeth are now straight and beautiful after his work .....all done with his excellent skill and gentle hand. Most important, Dr. Ho is a very kind, patient and sincere person, very dedicated and accommodating....I feel I was going to a trusted friend for treatment. He is my only dentist now, and I trust the well being of my teeth only to him. -

Dr Ho is without a doubt one of the most skilled and friendly dentists I have ever been to. I had 7 cavities, not having been to a dentist in many years. Over a series of visits he painlessly fix me up. Procedures went smoothly and I felt no fear. He even helped me identify a problem I have with my tongue. I highly recommend him!

Dr. Ho definitely deserves all 5 stars, because he is as good as it gets. His skill, patience, effort and attentiveness make him the best Dentist I've ever been to! I've always dreaded the dentist, but his calm demeanor and excellent skills have helped me overcome that. He is very sensitive to his patients needs, and always makes sure you're comfortable. He goes above and beyond when it comes to great Dentistry. He gets all 5 stars because he did a great job on my teeth. And because he is always extremely friendly, helpful and caring. I appreciate dental clinics for many reasons....the detailed scalings, the 2.3.4 mm's of gums, the art of composites and the preventive aspects of sealants. How do I find someone just as detailed & close by without the 3.5 hour chair time? Happy to say, I felt completely at ease in the skillful hands of Dr. Cuong Ho today. I went to Dr. Ho for the first time a few weeks ago, and he did an excellent job. I had a few chipped teeth, and he worked his magic on them - they look like nothing ever happened to them! I was able to get an appointment with him after regular business hours, which was perfect because I didn't want to take time off work to get some dental work done. Highly recommended!

I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Ho to anyone in SF. He's a fantastic dentist - extremely personable, accommodating, thorough, and caring. He not only came in on a day that he was scheduled to be off to see me, but he patiently spent over 3 hours for procedures on me that many other dentists would have asked to schedule over 2 or 3 appointments. He was very thorough in his work and explained most steps along the way for me. However, I was most appreciative of all the small things for me - he would constantly make sure that I was doing ok, make sure that my lips weren't getting dry, applying generous amounts of topical lidocaine when necessary, and he even flossed for me! The icing on the cake was receiving a Sonicare electric toothbrush from him - not sure if he'll always be able to give these out, but it was much appreciated. He also took about 10 minutes at the end of my visit to teach me how to properly brush my teeth using this new brush. Finally, what really separates Dr. Ho from most other dentists I've had in the past, was that he personally called me about 3-4 hours after my appointment to make sure I was feeling ok.
If you're looking for a dentist, look no further. If nothing else, his office is in a great location down in West Portal with a bunch of great shops, cafes, bakeries etc. - great street to walk down. -

After not having been to a dentist in over 4 years, I put blind faith in Dr. Ho. After many visits for various issues in my mouth, I can honestly say that Dr. Ho is not only a great dentist but also a great friend. He is extremely gentle and considerate and even helped me figure out the best ways to utilize my insurance. My teeth are now in excellent condition all due to the work of a great dentist and his awesome assistant, Cathy. I would highly recommend Dr. Ho to everyone in need of "dental care"!
