I used Aaron's Moving for a couple of moves before, but unfortunately I had a tight and short notice schedule for my last move in June 2011 and they weren't available. All Reasons got back to me quickly in response to an email request, had availability (on two days notice--I know they can't always do this but it was great), so I tried them out.
I was very happy with the result.
I think it took the three movers about 5 hours to move this packrat from a third floor with tricky stairs, to a second floor interior corridor, with a lot of computers and a sleeper sofa and an IKEA entertainment center that defies the laws of physics when introduced to short staircases. They were prompt, courteous, efficient, and effective. Not a bit of grumpiness even when faced with a 6' square piece of furniture and a 5 1/2' turning radius on the stairs... they figured it out and saved me having to find a sledgehammer to take care of that entertainment center.
I'm hoping not to move for a while now, but I know where to go next time I need a mover. -

Although we haven't had much experience with moving companies, we were delighted by the experience we had with All Reasons moving. From the scheduling of the move to the final offloading of the trucks, All Reasons was professional and courteous. Kim has done an amazing job with this company, hiring and training the right people with the right attitudes and experience to get the job done quickly and without incident. We were moving a 5-bedroom 3,000 SF house into a much smaller rental, and they got it all done in just over 6 hours start to finish, lowering our overall cost.
We're planning on moving again in 3-5 months and will definitely use these guys again. -

I honestly can't say enough good things about these movers. We scheduled the appt about a month in advance and had no issues with the time and date we wanted. They called to confirm they would be arriving 8-8:30AM .. the guys and the truck were here and parked and ready to be loaded at 8:05!
The three guys that came by were amazing. Moving a 2 bedroom townhome took our last movers 8+ hours to accomplish, these guys moved us from Pleasanton to Fremont in less than 5 hours.. up and down stairs! When they showed up, I walked them through the place and asked how long they thought it would take.. they said 2.5-3 hours... they were done 5 minutes before 2.5 hours... I was thrilled.
They were super courteous, very careful, and moved so fast that I could hardly believe it. They brought complimentary wardrobes and packed it all up and even moved my plants for me! Talk about completely worth the price. They were pretty cool to just talk to as well, we cracked jokes now and then. I told them they were rockstars and one guy responded "We look at it this way, it's not our money to waste, so we try to do the best job we can as quickly as possible."
I was so incredibly nervous about the movers because I've just heard, and experienced, so many horror stories. I couldn't be happier. I don't plan on using any other movers ever again. -

As much as I HATE moving, I LOVE AllReasons Moving.
The office folks coordinated the date and time with me and followed up to make sure I'd be ready.
The crew arrived on time and started immediately - no time wasted! They made sure everything was covered and secure and, when they got to our new house, made sure that all the heavy furniture was exactly where I wanted it. They put the bed together, too! The guys were all very polite and organized.
They came back 2 days later to unload a POD and brought me out a chair so I could sit and direct them where things went.
I would recommend them to anyone who was moving! -

These guys are not only on time, and are careful with your stuff, they are quick and efficient too. We recently have to move out of a 3 story townhouse. There are a lot of stairs and I have some big stuff including a full-size fridge to move. They saved a lot of time/effort by passing the furniture/boxes directly from my front door deck, over the deck fence, to the back of the truck! Smart!
Also, we thought we'd be fully packed but didn't finish when they showed up. They simply split the team, some were moving stuff while others helped me finish packing. Also, we moved from a carpeted house to one with all hardwood floors, and they helped me put felts on every single piece of furniture!
Can't say enough good things about them. I now know what professional movers are like. I highly recommend them without reservation. -

After having worked for the WORST of the WORST moving companies, I know a good moving company. Today I had to coordinate a move of a few items for my CEO at work and after hearing about all reasons moving company I decided to give them a go. They arrived bright and early and had two very polite and helpful crew members by the name of Berto & Josh. Although our move was not of heavy volume they were there to accommodate anything and everything we needed. They had great rates and they were very professional with everything. If you need a professional moving company with quality crew members please call all reasons. They got everything done in a quick and helpful manner. Thank you Kim, Jessica, Anita, Josh and Berto for helping my company and I at the last minute.

Boo! Bad customer service from Kim in their office. Don't waste your time!!
Moving is stressful. You have to pack up your life, coordinate all sorts of utilities, try not to break any of your belongings, all while trying not to have a nervous breakdown. What you don't need is a shady moving company wasting your time on a quoting process when they clearly don't have any availability on your target moving day.
Perhaps I wouldn't be so disappointed if these guys hadn't had been highly recommended by friends and coworkers, and seemed to have good ratings here on Yelp.
I contacted them to get a quote for a weekend move. I went back and forth with a rep named Kim via email, and each time I asked her to confirm availability for a Saturday move and asking what time the team was available to start. Finally, after a thread of 11 emails, she admitted that they had been booked on that day and tried to talk me into a Monday move. Hello!! People have jobs...that's how they can afford places to live.
I wish she had been honest at the start and admitted that they were already booked. I could have spent the time booking movers who could actually move me on the day I need them.

***UPDATE*** Saw that "Kim" commented...still not getting it. The reason I'm upset is not that they were booked, it was that she wasted an entire day going back and forth when she already knew in the morning that they were booked on my target date. We used ARM based on a recommendation for our friends. Everything was great. We arranged for someone to come out a week before to make sure they could handle our move. On moving day, 3 guys showed up and packed up our life
Since we knew we would be moving into our house during the lunch hour, I ordered sandwiches for the movers and ourselves. The movers were very appreciative of this.
The guys asked where things needed to go and helped us put the boxes in their respective areas.
I would definitely recommend them for future moves! -

My family and I have been using All Reason's Moving for years now and can't say enough good things about them. Their crew has always gone above and beyond and take care of our belongings like they were their own.
The first time we used ARM we were moving into a house up in the mountains and to be completely honest we were not sure how smoothly this move was going to go due to the layout of the property and how hard it was going to be to get our large furniture down the super steep driveway and then down to the house with no stairs or anything, just dirt slopes. But they were AMAZING! What a team, they pulled that move off with grace and never complained once about how difficult it must have been for them. After witnessing that, we were customers for life!
Since then we have used them a couple more times and again they have always made the process of moving, (which in the past has always stressed me out) into an easy and quick experience. They move more than homes too which my mom was pleased to learn when her company was moving buildings. She even used their storage service for years which was so convenient. They could just call ahead of time and access what they needed when they needed. We definitely give ARM an A+, from the initial estimate, continuous customer service, packing our stuff and the move itself, ARM rocks! I have and will continue to recommend ARM to anyone who is looking for a respectful, helpful, and secure moving company to trust in moving their home or business.

I used these guys about a week ago in a move from the South Bay to the North Bay after fining them favorably reviewed on Yelp. What can I say? The move ended up costing a pretty penny though this is the first that I've used professional movers, so I don't have anything to compare it to. As this was a last minute arrangement, I did not negotiate a "do not exceed" price, and I'll be sure to do that next time.
As for the movers, themselves, they were on time, they were on the ball, they were highly responsive to all of my requests, they were careful, and they were friendly.
It was my most painless move ever. -

We hired ARM to pack and move our 2 bedroom condo to our new 2 bedroom house. I was swamped at work, so I didn't have time to pack, so I had them pack, load, unload, and unpack my entire place.
The whole crew who showed up were curteous, professional, on time, and respectful. They packed the whole place and loaded it into the truck in under 3 hours. Then they were able to unload and unpack everything in just two more hours. Amazing, didn't have to lift a finger.
To be honest, there are probably cheaper "companies" you can find on craigslist or somewhere else online, but trust me...pay the extra $10/hr and hire a company who is licensed, bonded, insured, professional and will actually work hard to get the job done right. You will be happy in the long run.
Great experience and will definitely use them the next time we have to move. -

Just moved from Sunnyvale to Redwood Shores and after calling a few places settled on All Reasons. They were super prompt, parked and ready to go at 8:00 am and had my two bedroom apartment sorted out and packed in just over an hour. My new place was a logistical nightmare for them but they found creative and efficient solutions to every obstacle. I was especially impressed with the improv pulley system to bring my couch in through the balcony.
My neighbor's were moving at the same time, but elected to find movers on craigslist (I know, right).... As I was returning to the apartment complex to turn in my keys, their graffiti-fied "truck" was pulling in. Two hours late. After seeing some of the less expensive options, it's evident All Reasons is worth every penny! -

These guys are thieves. I just received the official "not to exceed" estimate in the mail, and it does not match what the company guy was saying before. The company sent a guy out to my 1-bedroom apartment to give me a not to exceed estimate. The guy told me that my apartment will be a very small move and that I have less then 2000 lbs of items. He verbally estimated that the move should not be more than about $850. When he described how they are planning on packing my items, it sounded like they would damage my items during the move. They don't spend enough time packing items very robustly.
The paper estimate the company just sent me claims that I have 2500 lbs of items and is estimating that move will be $1250. So this is a blatant lie. I wonder what they will lie about later on.
Also, the company reps are very rude on the phone. When I inquired about the bad mark they have on the BBB website, one of the reps actually told me that they would refuse service to customers that are obnoxious. Now you tell me, is inquiring about a bad mark in the BBB obnoxious? Maybe if the company is trying to hide bad service.
Frankly, I am pretty worried about hiring these people for my move. It looks like they are trying to overcharge me already. They already are lying to me about the move estimate. These people are not trustworthy and seem like thieves. I am thinking "stay away!" I am not sure why there are so many good reviews about this company on this website. Seems really strange.

This was 5 years ago so keep that in mind, but, if as one reviewer said they refuse service to people who are obnoxious, I'm wondering why the team leader stuck me for $60, since I wasn't obnoxious at all. I decided to talk to him personally first to give him a chance to explain and handle it on his own, rather than calling to talk to the owner. When I called afterward to talk to him and was actually polite about it at first, he got defensive and snotty immediately. (Yeah I was in fact pissy to him after that; he stole sixty bucks from me and since I paid in cash, there was no way to prove anything, so I was basically screwed.)
It's sad because I used them 2 or 3 years earlier in 1999, and they were great. We used them for both packing and moving. The owner herself came to pack our stuff and I liked her. So of course I called them again. So for the ripoff job it's 1 star. The actual moving part was fine, but the team leader ripping me off and being a d*** when I called to talk about it, that knocks them down 4 stars. The previous time would have been 5 stars, so that averages out to 3 stars. And I refuse to deal with them again, ever. -

I've used All Reasons twice myself. Both times, all of my stuff was across town in my new location in less than 3 hours (not a huge move, but average to above average stuff for a 20-something bachelor guy). The guys work hard and take care of your stuff. Just sit back and let them at it for 5 minutes, and you'll see how they correctly lift and handle anything you have (including pinball machines and even crappy IKEA furniture that breaks the moment you apply any sort of shear force). They navigate stairs, tight corners, narrow hallways and doorways, without a leaving a scratch. I've lost count of how many friends I've referred to All Reasons, but I always hear about their good service.
The one drawback is that the price is on the high side, but in my opinion, it's well worth it. Don't bother with low-grade budget movers - they'll only break your $100 Pissa Krap Desk and ding your wall so the landlord takes an extra $50 out to repair it. Well guess what, for way less than $150 extra, you could have used All Reasons. -

I found all reasons on a recommendation from a fellow yelper. I read all the their reviews. Checked them out on the BBB, pretty much did all my homework before I hired them. Kim (owner?) and scheduler got me a quote right away after I filled out a short Questionnaire online. I called again after a few weeks and booked my apt.
I week later I got a letter in the mail with an invoice and all the details. 4 movers showed up in two trucks. They all looked really happy to be moving my stuff. I gather that they are very happy employees. The lead mover was named T. He was very professional and got his guys working immediately.
They did a short survey of my house and started moving. I had to leave for work.. My husband called me about 2.5 hours later. They finished the move and all the stuff was in my new house.
I would recommend 100% and use them again for my next moves. -

We've used All Reasons for two moves, one in 2007 and one in 2010. The crews were prompt, professional, skilled, extremely careful, and very efficient.
In both cases, our moves were 3-bedroom, with lots of heavy wood furniture, 50 boxes of goods, 8 moving wardrobes, and the Stairs of Pain. AR sized a 4-man crew for the jobs, and each was completed in about 5 hours.
Prices seem to be about middle of the range for this area; we felt that we received excellent value given the scope and quality.
They also sell a variety of standard-sized, sturdy boxes. We found these to be a good investment, as it allows the loading to go much faster, and you're paying by the hour, so efficiency is key. At the end, we had a few unused boxes, and they bought them back at full value. They also came to pick up the used boxes and packing materials when we were done unpacking, so we didn't have to recycle them ourselves.
I would not consider using another company after the two very positive experiences we've had with All Reasons. -

I have used All Reasons Movers for two moves -- They are awesome! I found them through the BBB website.
I don't remember the price because my ex had paid both times (he was in charge of the finances).
I'm one of those bad movers who isn't 100% ready when the guys show up, but they were totally professional and patient with procrastinator me! ;)

All Reasons Moving & Storage helped me with 2 moves in April 2011. The first was moving a room full of furniture down the street about a 1/4 mile. The second was moving all of the belongings in a 2 bedroom house from Campbell to Lodi. The second move included packing, as well as moving the furniture.
I can echo the other positive reviews on All Reasons service. I highly recommend them. The office staff is VERY RESPONSIVE and easy to work with. The team that came for both moves were very helpful, couteous and professional. All in all a very nice and professional group of people who were a pleasure to work with. -

Having only heard horror stories about moving companies, I was apprehensive to use any mover at all. We chose All Reasons to move us after careful research.
All Reasons claims to pay their employees well and provide incentives based on their performance. This is supposed to help retain their workers and make quite a difference in the quality of their jobs. All of the guys in our crew had been with the company for years.
Whatever the reason, they just do moving right.
The move was quick and efficient. The crew were surprisingly careful with everything they moved, courteous, very professional, and understanding. I even spied on them from a distance and they still set every dining chair down as if it were crystal. Everything in the truck was carefully wrapped in padding and secured. Nothing was damaged at all. They placed all of our stuff right where we wanted it and disassembled and re-assembled the bed.
I'm sure there are cheaper services out there. I'm also sure that there is no better quality or more careful moving company out there.
We'll use All Reasons the next time we move. -

Very professional and friendly movers. Highly recommend requesting for movers: Saone (pronounced: Sa-wani), and Cruz.
Had to move-out from a first floor 1-bedroom apartment to an upstairs two bedroom complex about 2-3 miles away. Queen bed, and lots of large wood furniture and 8-9 boxes (dishes/glassware etc.). Started right on time: 8am sharp, and immediately surveyed how to do the move-out. They had all the necessary protective equipment and additional boxes. The dangerous section of the move, a very narrow staircase with stucco walls leading to the 2nd-floor move-in location. They were very careful while moving anything expensive through this section, and when I checked all my belongings afterwards everything was intact and no scratches or damages.
Overall, friendly movers that were very careful, but were also very efficient and quick. Total time ~2 hrs for a $220. -

I had a discussion going on in the Talk section of which mover to use for our move. Finally after a lot of recommendation, I chose All Reasons. They sounded pricey (at $150/hr for 3 persons, 3 hrs min), but yelpers assured it' worth it.
So, they arrived promptly at the 8:30 am. I was pleasantly surprised. Then they proceeded to inspect the best possible way to load stuff. After inspection they were convinced they will save me money, which I was happy to hear but sceptic.
But once they started loading, I was quite sure it would be done within 3 hrs.
Unfortunately, for them and us, our destination had lot of walk and elevator involved, which took the steam out of the move.
In the end it took 4:15 hrs to move but there was not one bit of worry on our part. They were professional, funny, courteous and careful.

When I think of Kim Tucker and All The Reasons Moving, I think of 2 main things: integrity and efficiency. As anyone can tell by looking at her facility, she and her crew are highly organized and very efficient. That's definitely the type of person I want moving my stuff!! In talking with her, it doesn't take but 5 minutes to realize that integrity is shining right through in what is sometimes a "shady" profession. She employs several family members and they all work well together - major achievement, IMHO ;-)!

All Reasons Moving is a GREAT company. I highly recommend them.
When it came time to move into our new house, my husband and I decided that we are now officially too old to beg a day of labor from our friends to help us move all our stuff. We have a LOT of stuff. Se we budgeted to hire movers and I went to Yelp to look at the reviews.
I interviewed 5 different companies. Three sent people to my house to give me an official estimate. All Reasons Moving was clearly the superior company. All Reasons Moving was the only company to suggest two trucks and 4 men. All the others wanted to make two trips with one truck and three movers. Everyone knows that two trips takes much longer, just because people get tired. Even though All Reasons' estimate was a little higher than the others, theirs was the only one I felt was actually realistic when compared to the amount of stuff we have. They were also the only company to give us a "not to exceed" quote. I felt that was really important, because it meant they wouldn't be holding my stuff hostage. In the end they came in under budget. I was really happy about that.
The crew was on time, showing up right on schedule. They were a great group of polite, professional, highly trained, hard working guys, Orlando, Zack, Jesus and Juan. All four of them worked flat out from the moment they got there until lunch 3 hours later and then after only a 45 minute lunch they unloaded without a pause until they were done. Then they helped me move furniture around. They did not take a break even once the whole day. They had their work cut out for them, because we packed ourselves and every box was a different size. Both trucks were packed like a 3 dimensional Tetris game and they got everything in and stowed in record time.
They were very careful with our stuff. You would have thought they were moving their own grandma for all the care they took. In fact, I found a glass wine goblet that somehow got left in our antique pie cabinet after the move and it was unharmed! Somehow it had gotten missed in the packing and been left at the back of a low shelf, and it made it through the move unwrapped, unbraced and unbroken. They were that gentle. We also have a few large antique pieces that came through without a scratch. We've unpacked now and nothing was broken or damaged. They were Awesome!
I don't ever plan to move again, but if I did, this is the company to use. I have already recommended them to everyone I know. -

I've used All Reasons three times. The first two times (many years ago) were five star experiences.
I wish I could say the same about the last move.
It was a move from Santa Clara to Santa Clara -- not bad. One of the movers (the guy in charge) had helped me move the previous two times. He was great!!! Efficient, respectful of my belongings, good communication.
the other two individuals helping seemed like they were not very enthusiastic. They banged up a lot of my boxes and furniture (boxes not a big deal except that fragile items were inside) during the moving process. I definitely felt like they didn't respect my belongings.
The first two moves with All Reasons were "whoa! how did they move so fast?" This last time, it was "where exactly have they been for the last 15 minutes?"
I'd try another company next time. -

I referred a couple friends to ARM now and each time I've heard bad customer service and over price of quotes. One friend did utilize their services, but had to pay for 3 guys when she only needed 2. I understand the eceonomy sucks right now, but over charging and over providing services will not help with referrals.

OK, so the second time around wasn't so good. The guys were rude, including the team leader. Definitely a different crew from the first time. The were not very careful with my stuff and I had to become an a$$hole to get them to start showing some respect to my belongings. Anyone paying a grand to move their gear across town obviously cares about it, and should expect some respect. If I wanted a half-a$$ed job I would have moved the stuff myself with some friends for the cost of a pizza and beer.
The team leader tried to lecture me about how they knew their job and that sometimes their customers just get in their way and make things take longer than necessary. Once I made it clear that I was paying for their time and that they needed to slow their pace (it initially looked and felt like a robbery, no kidding) things got a little better, but at best this crew earned two stars, only because there wasn't any damage found. I was within a few seconds of asking them to leave at one point. Too bad that the management can't get consistent crews because the guys I had a year prior rocked!

My husband and I have used All Reasons Moving to move our entire home from one place in Silicon Valley to another. I also refer them to all of my clients. We thoroughly enjoyed working with them, and the reports I get from my clients are very positive. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, careful with others' possessions, and honest. We hope to not have to move anytime soon, but if we do, we'll definitely call All Reasons again!

We moved from a one bedroom flat in Sunnyvale to a tri-level loft in San Jose last year. It was the sort of move that not even the promise of all-you-can-eat pizza and beer can get your best friends to sign up for. Enter All Reasons, they were on-time, professional and quick! Neither the most expensive or the cheapest, they were worth every penny. I was so impressed that I used them for moving and storage for where I work. There's a new Executive Director in town and so everyone's kind of on pins and needles but All Reasons made me look good. Woo-hoo!

Three men from All Reasons Moving and Storage worked for 2 hours from 8:30-10:30 am one day this week to simply move items from Pod unit and garage into the house. (We refinished the floors.) All Reasons is located 14.08 miles from my house. Two way fuel costs would be $5.04. The contract which I read and signed, stated "pay for drive time, plus $150/hour for 3 people per hour, plus fuel surcharge." The workers who came were smart, quick and personable. However, they ended up handing me a bill for $290 over what I expected so total $590. They said that "drive time --3 men in same vehicle going 14.08 miles/28.08 round trip--would cost me $290" so the final bill is $590. I said that no, I won't pay them that amount. Instead, I spoke with the owner, "Kim" who said that yes, I owe $290 for drive time (huh?) but she'll "give me a break and only charge me for fuel at $53.85." Final bill was $353.85. To get the three men to leave my house, I paid the amount and am glad they are gone. You decide: Was it fair of them to charge $290 to drive 14 miles or 28 round trip? Co-owner Kim seems to think so! Buyer beware!

Just moved back to our house last week and we used All Reasons Moving. It was a perfect experience
I am very pleased with the overall experience while booking the move with Kim. She very patiently answered all the questions and ensured that she provided all the information so that there are no surprises later on, including the fuel surcharge.
I am more pleased with the moving crew, who came to help. Frank and Josh worked as a great team. They came about 15 min early than scheduled time. Given that we have all new new that we were moving into, they took extra care while moving furniture such there there were no dings in the wall or hard wood floor.
Even though their rates where higher than the most I got quote from, I am very pleased with the overall work ethics and am glad to be a reference for them. -

This company just completed a large household move for me, from Walnut Creek to Emeryville. Lots of fragile, good-quality household items, even though a relatively short distance for the move itself.
They are GREAT. The crew was polite, very experienced ~ and its supervisor was really experienced and intelligent. I was a Navy Brat and have moved about a Brazillion times (George Bush thinks that means bigger than a Million). This company is the best, most efficient, most communicative and most team-work-ish group I've ever had. Five stars. -

Highly recommend. They showed up on time and were very professional. Moved from a first floor apartment to a three story townhouse a couple of miles away. No damage to walls and only a small ding to one dresser. Would use them again.
