Yesterday, on our way to a yelp event..my car decided that it did not want to go. The battery worked, but it refused to turn over. I guess she wanted a day off. We were "stranded" in a walmart parking lot.
My husband looked up companies to call on his "smart phone". He picked a referral service called "24 hour towing". Firstly, 24 hour towing sent a young man who did not identify himself. He drove a car with no logo, and we did not know who in the hell he was. We thought he was a good Samaritan because we were sitting there with our hood open...and had *already* tried jumping it...so we knew that was not the problem. After failing to make the car operational...he pulled out an invoice and wanted my husband to sign so that they could charge us 65 dollars....for something we did not ask for. WE ASKED FOR A TOW TRUCK !!
There were a few red flags.....firstly, they did not quote the base price and the mileage over the phone. We called them right away and told them that we did not ask for a jump...we knew we wanted a truck. They offered to take some of the money off the bill. (FOR WHAT!!?!) They said a truck was dispatched. Two and a half hours later, and several calls....no truck. The dispatcher repeatedly said the driver would call us. No one called. We called them back and told them to stuff it. (Okay, that's what we WANTED to tell them!)
We called All Points Towing. They were there within 30 minutes, the friendly driver had our car up on the truck and on the road within minutes. We were quoted 65.00 plus 3.00 a mile to bring it home. He turned his truck in our very tiny drive at our townhome...and neatly slipped my VW into the GARAGE !!! (I really think he is magical)
Not only was it nice to be "saved"...the ride home in his clean truck was pleasant and enjoyable. Thanks All Points for turning our bad situation into a positive one. I am glad that there is a tow company out there who isn't out there to rob you when you are already facing car repairs. If we ever need another tow..we are calling All Points. They rock. -

Very good customer service! I actually called another towing company that was rated high here on yelp first before I called them. The other company must be doing great because they had absolutely no time for me!
Spoke with Lisa who helped me out tremendously and they were even cheaper than the other company. Did I mention you get $10 off your first tow as well? Well, ya do. Check out their site.
