With a house full of animals, we're here A LOT.  It's good to know whether we bring in our furry pals for a checkup or because they are unwell,  they'll receive top notch care from caring professionals.  They are a little more expensive than other vets we've been too, but we've been very satisfied with the friendly and expert care our pets receive.

Yes, I read the previous reviews on this place before going to it. Quite the house divided. Interesting. Our favorite Vet left the area so we decided to give this fancy local place a shot when my 12 year old cat was not doing so well.

I read all the info on the vets practicing there, seemed good, checked out the facility-very nice, clean and modern, and parking-great. Getting an appt was easy if you settle for any Vet. DON"T do it online though as that seems too complex for them. They messed up my appt that way.

Anyhoo, back to what matters my kitty- lets call her "Sneakie". Sneakie was pretty darn sick. She was once a zaftig cat i.e. fat no matter what I fed her and she just stopped eating her usual amount and had gotten quite skinny. Mommie i.e. me was frantic!

Anyhoo, to make a looong review short or shorter, lets cut to the chase. I only allowed  Dr Evans at All pets to work with my cat-I did not like Dr Caylor. A few of the vet techs are slightly squirrelly "I saw them making up things to put in the chart" and could use a more caring bedside manner, and the front office peeps could definitely use more kindness. But hey there are cookies and pet treats in the waiting room-SCORE!

I happen to know some medicine and what I don't know I have Googled 1000 times before and after going in so yes I am, as mentioned in all my reviews, one with high standards and even more so with my precious fur baby's medical care. Dr Evan's did appreciate this fact and took an enormous amount of time explaining things to me and tolerating my questions about my monsters condition and care.

I did not purchase my pets special diet or meds from them as I could get them elsewhere at better quality and cost. Be aware they don't work with internet pet pharmacies at all but will supply you with a script to go elsewhere.

Sneakie is doing ok now. Thanks to both her research obsessed Mommie and kitty food with NO GRAINS. I am grateful. I did not find the prices for her care at All Pets unreasonable. Of course, I do ask many questions in order to keep costs under control.

I suggest those of you that had a negative experience with any medical person do your homework and become an active, knowledgeable, participant in your own, or as in my case, pet's care. Medical people cannot perform miracles and should not be expected to and they deserve to be paid for their time. Find yourself one you feel comfortable with and you trust.

Edit-My cat has gone deaf and my research says it is due to the medicine that was prescribed at All Pets, She went deaf a few months after starting on it and I told the doctor (Evans) who denied the meds contributed. I am upset that this side effect was not discussed with me first and worse that the Vet denied it could be a cause w/o checking the literature.

Edit#2 I was going to continue going here even after the deafness incident until in May/12 the office manager Jessica started hounding me on email for my honest review here. I understand All Pets need to discuss issues in fact I applaud it in this case. However, Jessica sends me many emails then blocks my responses so that pretty much shows what kind of ethics they have.

I have been a LOYAL Dr Evans "patient" (that sounds funny since she is a vet and i am a person) for about 23 YEARS!!!

Dr Evans has cared for 5 of my dogs over this time period.  She always takes her time, never rushes, is the most current and up to date on vet medicine, and the dogs love her!  She has even performed acupuncture (i like to call it dogupuncture) on two of my dogs - one with an arthritic elbow after a trauma and the other after a cervical stenosis (neck) problem.

Dr. Evans always returns phone calls, spends a lot of time on the phone, and has wonderful followup!

I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Evans.  My only hesitation in recommending her is that I won't be able to get an appointment with her if all of you book up her already very limited time slot openings!  She is hard to get in to see, but she is WORTH the wait!!! :)

Called to get a chest tap procedure done on my cat and they told me to just "drop the cat off." Well they have all my info from my previous visit anyway so I thought "Excellent". Wrong! They still charge me with the consultation fee of $55. Anyhow, the vet (her name is Montoya) called 3 hours later telling me that my cat has this and that and the cat need to be put down so I need to make a decision. In panic, I went there to see her to no avail. I can't even get the xray copies that I have paid for (mind you, they charge $175 plus $55 for "Additional review"). I have to pay an extra $16 for the copies. I asked them "Well, how do I know that you did all those xray". Here's the kicker answer "Well, you just have to trust us, we are a licensed facility!" You know when someone tells you to trust them, usually, I run the other way. In this case, I was too late. My cat was fine. The fluid build up was due to our recklesness  for not putting him on a stricter diet n herbal supplement for a lot longer than we did (he got better so quickly the last time around). The vet doesn't even know about this herbal supplement called Rutin to treat cat with chylothorax. It is well documented all over the web. $400 later, I learned my lesson. The facility is a rip off. The vet that I dealt with was..hmmm...incapable.
You'd find a better place somewhere else that feels a lot more personalized and less "fake"

5 Stars for Dr. Evans and the staff.  Any other doctor that I've seen or have taken care of my dogs, 1 star (0 stars anyone??)

Dr Evans is very compassionate about her customers (at least with me she is)  and seems to go that extra yard to make sure that they are comfortable about any diagnosis or assessment that she makes about their pets.  She won't try to do anything that is obviously extra $$$ without consulting you first or if it's during a major surgery, she will make the sound choice.   We love her and would not go to another Dr. that exists at All Pets.

I'm not sure if they still have the same other vets that we met with before Dr Evans but i hope not.  Absolutely no personality and they couldn't care less about our dogs.  One of the other main doctors has no bedside manner whatsoever.   I won't mention names but just know, Dr Evans is the one to go to.  She gets pretty busy so you have to catch her a couple of weeks in advance.

The staff has changed over the last couple of years I'm thinking because everybody is pretty damn friendly now.  It wasn't this nice before.  They really are helpful and attentive now.  Kudos for caring about your patrons.

I have been taking my pets here for the last six years.  First was Dr. Lane, she was the best but moved to San Diego.  Then we began using Dr. Richardson and he's great as well.  Very caring doctors and staff.  They do surgery, checkups, grooming, boarding and recently, acupuncture.  While the last is a bit much for me, to each his/her own.  I have entrusted my 2 beagles and new kitten to their care and have never been disappointed.

These people don't care about animals at all.  I went there rushing in with my 65 lb dog in my arms because she got stung with a bee and her nose swelled up so much she could hardly breathe.  I tried to open the door and it was locked.  The lady behind the counter ignored me.  I knocked and said I needed help.  She said they were closed and to drive 20 minutes into Torrance to go to the pet hospital.  I looked at the hours on the door and didn't think it was closing time, but when I got to my car I saw they were only closed for no more than 3 minutes, probably less considering the time I spent standing at the door pleading for help.

I hope if they ever have to go to an emergency room, they are told to go to another hospital.

I've had animals all my life and, due to having two cats over the years with FUS, I've seen my fair share of vets. Upon our first visit to All Pets with our newly adopted bulldog, Bernice, who had already been diagnosed and was on lifelong medication for seizures, was extremely overweight and suffering hot spots, I knew this was going to be our new vet for life. They really are that impressive.

First of all, the front office staff is fantastic! We have several special needs animals so we've become pretty frequent visitors. Each time we visit, everyone remembers our dogs' names and ask how they're doing. The staff noticed and commented when Bernice managed to lose 12 pounds in three months under Dr. Richardson's recommended treatment and care after he'd followed up on some slightly obscure and yet tell-tale signs of a potential thyroid issue and then ran the necessary tests to determine that she did, in fact, have a thyroid issue that was causing her obesity. The doctors encouraged us to bring her in to be weighed every few weeks - no appointment needed, no charge and we're always met with cheerful, welcoming and accommodating service.

When our little rat terrier, Cha Cha, was seriously bitten on the butt by a much larger dog and I rushed her to All Pets on a Saturday just an hour before they closed, they admitted her immediately and assessed what I already knew - she was going to need surgery. Dr. Richardson explained that she was in shock so she needed to be stabilized and, that while they closed in an hour and he did have other scheduled appointments within that hour, he was going to stay late and perform that much needed emergency surgery on her afterward. He assured me he'd give me a call right before surgery commenced as well as after it was over to give me updates on her condition - and he did. No, I don't mean a staff member called me. I mean Dr. Richardson, himself. And that's what he does every time we've been in to see him. He calls and checks up to make sure all is going well or to explain something further to us that he may have needed to follow up on after we'd been in to visit. In my opinion, he's the most excellent, compassionate, skilled, knowledgeable and thorough vet I've ever encountered.

The bulldog community in the So Cal area are pretty stuck on two particular vets who, in their opinion, are the only two who really know bulldogs and their special needs. There's also the feeling that when a vet sees a bulldog, they also sees big dollar signs. I disagree! It has been our experience that All Pets' Dr. Richardson and Dr. Arroyo are pretty darn knowledgeable and have literally given one of our girls her quality of life back and quite possibly spared her potential liver damage by gradually weaning her off a medication known for such side effects and getting her on another that's just as effective but without such concerns. The expense was pretty much what the rescue vet charged us for meds and tests - although the celebrated rescue vet never considered the med switch, didn't test her for thyroid problems nor did they prescribe any kind of special diet. Due to Dr. Richardson's care, not only has Bernice managed to lose weight but her seizures are well under control, her sleeping patterns are regulated, her mood has stabilized and her various skin conditions have been entirely eliminated.

An additional side note to share - as mentioned, Bernice requires special prescription food to manage her thyroid and weight. We ordered what was supposed to be a 30 pound bag. It came in two days later and we were called to come in to pick it up. About a week later, I got a call from the staff member who placed the food order. She asked me to check the weight on the bag because the food company changed the bag weights without informing them and that I may have actually purchased a 27 lb. bag rather than the 30 lb. bag. Sure enough, it was a 27 lb. bag - and they credited us the amount we overpaid for food we didn't get.

I can't recommend this veterinary office enough. The service and care is excellent. The doctors are fantastic and really know their stuff. The office staff is always helpful and friendly. Their prices are standard and reasonable and, it has been our experience, that they really do make the effort to take that extra step above and beyond what you may find at other veterinary offices. We think All Pets is wonderful and expect to be patrons for life.

Recently moved to the neighborhood from Torrance and figured would change vets since it is just a few blocks from my new home. I saw the mixed reviews in Yelp and decided to give it a try. I'm gonna try and be objective despite my negative experience. The place was clean and desk staff was friendly, but I waited more than ONE HOUR to see the vet and nothing. And the vet assistant had this attitude like "the vet is busy, you'll just have to wait." I took time off work and showed up 20 minutes early because they told me I needed to fill out forms, sign, etc. I understand vets sometimes get tied up in a hard case, but don't keep telling me "just a few minutes" for half an hour without even checking with the vet. Common courtesy hint, you could just have checked with the vet and given me a more precise time frame instead of just blowing me off. Never going back, rather do the 20 minute drive to my old vet, PLAZA DEL AMO ANIMAL HOSPITAL. Been with them 9 years, should have just stuck with them.

My dog needed some additional surgery due to an injury she sustained as a puppy. She had been hit by a car at 8 months old breaking both of her back legs; she had to have 2 pins placed in one knee and 3 in the other. Over the next two years, the three pins in her left leg began to cause her a lot of problems; she had to have one and then another removed with two different surgeries and still one pin remained.  As I try to make a very long story short....when the third pin began causing problems, her original Surgeon Vet had told us things and done other things we started to feel were not beneficial to my dog's long term recovery. We decided to get a second opinion and brought her to All Pets and are we ever glad we did!!!

We met with Dr. Caylor, who was very open, honest and upfront with treatment options whereas the original surgeon gave us no options except the most DRASTIC and expensive of them all. We were facing another $5,000 surgery (it was thought to be a torn ACL) and a very long term grueling recovery process. We decided to go with Dr. Caylor's advice and tried the lesser of the treatments first to see if her knee would heal up on its own. We were willing to try anything to keep her from having to go through yet another surgery.  With Dr. Caylor we felt we had options.  However, it soon became obvious that surgery was unavoidable after all.  We prepared ourselves for this difficult process, took her in for the surgery and waited. We received a call later that day with VERY good news. Once Dr. Caylor made the incision and started to look at the ACL internally, he noticed it was in great shape and that it was that last nasty little pin poking around the joint after all.  He removed the pin, which slid right out I might add, sewed her back up and she's as good as new!  It went from a $5,000 surgery to a $700 surgery.

We are grateful for Dr. Caylor's honesty and how he actually seemed to be concerned with the care of the animals. He was willing to spend as much time with us as possible to make sure we understood all of our options and what each one entailed. Whereas the original vet seemed to disregard our feelings and treated us with great disdain, we did not feel he was concerned with the care of the pet so much as making the big money.

I have since recommended All Pets Veterinarian Hospital to many of my friends and family. The staff is all very personable and helpful. I feel they are focused on giving the utmost care to any and all that come through there doors.
