Dr. Gillespie and Dr. Herman saved the life of my pet macaw who had an egg too big to pass. They had to anesthetize her and break the egg to get it out. She almost didn't survive but they monitored her well, worked quickly and brought her out of the anesthesia in time to keep her alive. She almost died, almost stopped breathing, but they fought to save her and succeeded.
I have had my macaw for 12 years and love her dearly. I can't imagine my life without her. She has lived with me in San Diego, in San Francisco and in Spain.
I received great service from everyone at All Pets, was kept informed, never felt rushed in my phone consultations, had all my questions answered. These folks are true caring professionals. Not cheap but worth every penny. Highly recommended for all kinds of animals. -

Our Jackson's Chameleon, Ruby, recently became ill, and stopped eating. We were very distressed about our pet's condition and concerned about finding an appropriate vet to attend to our little Ruby in her time of need. After reading a nice Yelp review by a Panther Chameleon owner, I called the All Pets Hospital. We were fortunate enough to get a non-emergency appointment within 24hrs with Dr. Bar.
Our worries were all cast aside when we met with Dr. Bar. Her approach to analyzing our pet's problems was spot-on, and through blood-testing she discovered an infection and prescribed an antibiotic. We are very happy to report that her treatment plan has worked wonderfully. It has been a little more than two weeks since our first appointment and Ruby's diagnosis, and to our delight, our Ruby has regained her normal strength and energy and is eating on her own and with a healthy appetite.
Aside from the obvious success that Dr. Bar and her staff have had with treating our chameleon, the entire experience that we have had with the All Pets Hospital & staff has been nothing but top-notch and professional. I wish my own health care could have the same level of service and follow-up that we have seen from the All Pets Hospital. The follow-up and check-ins that the Dr and her nursing staff made before and after visits to check on poor Ruby were always sincere and greatly appreciated. Their genuine concern and care for Ruby's progress with each call and visit really helped, and reinforced to us that we made the right decision with our pet's health.
Reptile owners- don't be afraid to contact the All Pets Hospital should the need arise. While the majority of their patients are furry, they knew how to make our little Ruby as comfortable as possible with each visit, and I cannot thank them enough for what they have done for us. Ruby will remain a patient for regular check-ups from here on out.
Thank-you once again, Dr. Bar and the entire nursing staff! -

Still the best care in the city.
Saw Dr. Hershberger for vaccine updates for both pups first thing Saturday. In and out within 20 minutes that included a very efficient physical. On Sunday I received a phone call from staff asking if the pups were doing well after the injections. Another reason to love these people, follow through.1 Previous Review: Show all »

I have taken both of my dogs here at different times over the past 8 years. I always receive good care with an obvious concern about how my dog is doing. I have seen Dr Herman, Dr Bar, Dr Gillespie and Dr Hershberger. I would recommend all but Hershberger, unless you like a cold irreverence to your vets, I don't. Dr Bar and Herman are by far m favorites, I've seen the 2 of them far more than Gillespie but have had very helpful phone conversations with her. You won't go wrong with any of these fine ladies. I wouldn't say they are the least expensive, however are about standard. the places I've been that are less expensive are less clean and less organized. This clinic is very well-run and all the staff are friendly. They always do follow up calls to make sure your pet is doing ok, I love that!

I've been here far too often over the past month and a half, bringing in my Panther Chameleon for complications related to a prolapse. The vets here have been incredibly helpful and kind, and done extraordinary work (including spay-ing my little chameleon... something I didn't realize you could do).
Everyone here really loves all the animals that they take care of, and I would trust them with anything. -

I really love bringing our pets here. They're up to date on all current treatments/pet news, compassionate, great communicators and generally make going to the vet a pleasant experience. We've brought our cats in here before and that was all good but I brought our newly rescued dog in today and we saw Dr. Herman. Our new pooch just loved her. She was really thorough and took lots of time to answer my questions and I feel like she truly works in our pets' best interest. Cats are such drama queens at the vet (and otherwise!) so it's hard to tell whether it's a good experience. Dogs are so much more telling with their demeanor and Dr. H put ours right at ease. The staff are all friendly and knowledgeable too. I'm looking forward to a long relationship of check-ups and any other needed treatment for years to come! :)

I've been bringing my dog here for 5 years and its time to move on. I've seen all three vets and cannot recommend any of them. The vets don't give you a breakdown of the costs and just expect that you would pay anything to 'try' to get your pet better. Its true that I will, but I want to know how I am spending my hard earned money. I had xrays done here when my dog was sick and losing weight. The vet had me do a full blood panel and xrays only to find out it was giardia from the doggie daycare. And to make matters worse they wouldn't give the xrays to me when I asked for them. The desk staff didn't seem to understand that I am their client and that I paid for these xrays. Anyways... two stars for doing the minimum for charging the maximum.

I'm not a regular here and I've never been here to have my dog taken care of. That's my disclaimer. HOWEVER, I received VERY courteous treatment with my emergency. I called, frantically looking for an open appointment at any vet possible. The woman who answered the phone was so nice & calm. She asked me what had happened and I explained everything to her. As soon as I was done frantically babbling she calmly told me that I needed to see an emergency vet based on what she had heard. She referred me to an emergency clinic & gave me the information I needed to get in touch.
My actual vet office, didn't even tell me that, they told me (after explaining the symptoms) 'Oh we can only fit you in tomorrow, sorry.' I'm so disappointed in my own vet that I'm seriously considering changing vets & giving All Pets a try based off of the service I got today.
Thanks to All Pets' receptionist I was informed of the urgency of my little guy's condition & he is thankfully in the right hands. -

I brought my doggie in for a vet check and I found the staff to be very helpful.
Dr. Hershberger answered all of my questions and explained everything thoroughly.

Well isn't this a giant steaming pile of ill named uselessness...
I was directed here in my search for a common medication to use in my aquarium, by a well meaning person who took the name "All Pets Hospital" literally. This mistake will cost you valuable time should you have anything aquarium related. Not only do they not know anything about aquariums or fish, they weren't quite clear on the concept of what a fish was. They recommended I take my coral parasite infestation problem to the East Bay Vivarium which, as it turns out, only deals in reptiles.
Dear receptionists at APH, please buy this item to learn the basics of animal identification: http://www.amazon.com/...
I know it doesn't have fish or lizards on it, but if we start you too advanced you'll be talking about snake podiatry all day.
Bottom line: If it's just another dog and cat clinic name it "Just Another Dog and Cat Clinic." -

My dog had her first vet appointment at All Pets Hospital on Saturday. When I called there was about a week and a half wait period, but that might have been because I was a new patient or because it was just an annual exam. Everyone I talked to was so nice and helpful both on the phone and in the office.
I didn't call for a specific vet, so they made me an appointment with Dr. Gillespie (spelling?) who was so sweet. She was great about explaining why they recommend or don't recommend various vaccines, and answered all of my questions about some skin irritation my dog was having, even though it turned out I was totally just being a paranoid dog mom.
I had asked about flea/tick prevention and they recommended a pill rather than the topical k-9/frontline stuff. I compared prices to 1-800-pet-meds on the recommendation of one of their staff (awesome!) and it turned out it was just a few dollars more, so I feel like their prices are competitive. All of the vaccines and exam charges were the same or less than I'm used to paying as well. The one area that was more expensive was the quote for the dental cleaning so I'd advise shopping around for that.
About 3 days after my appointment I got a follow-up call from Dr. Gillespie just checking in on how my dog was doing. So cute! -

I discovered a few mystery scabs on my 5lb Yorkie's tiny head one day and couldn't figure out what they were because they were this light grey color. I debated on going to a vet or waiting it out and decided on the former when I convinced myself that there could be tiny skin parasites living on her head and secretly spreading under her skin...I suppose I'm one of those worst-case-scenario people even though she's technically on a monthly anti-flea/parasite medication.
Since I just moved to the city 2 months ago, I Yelped for a vet and found All Pets. Although some of the reviews were somewhat mixed, I decided to give them a try anyway since they were within walking distance from me.
I scheduled a 3pm appointment a few days out with Dr. Hershberger and arrived at 2:50pm. There was no one else in the waiting room so I saw the doctor by 3:12, which is certainly not bad. Dr. Hershberger looked at my Kaiya's head for a few seconds and then looked at my 7lb Yorkie, Ruby, and asked if Ruby "sometimes puts Kaiya in her place". Surprised by his accusational tone, I defensively exclaimed "absolutely not!", because my smaller dog is actually the more dominant of the two...but then I explained that there is a larger 10lb dog that also lives in the house so he's now suspect.
All in all, I saw Dr. Hershberger for 6 minutes total. His demeanor is somewhat cold and robotic but I can tell he's not an uncaring person, if that makes any sense. The good news was, Kaiya didn't have flesh-eating parasites. The bad news was, one of the other two dogs in the house has been gnawing on her head because those scabs were apparently recovering surface scratches...
After the brief office visit with Dr. Hershberger, they took Kaiya to the back for ear drops (for a light ear infection in one ear), a heartworm test (which didn't show up on her medical records even though I'm pretty sure she had it done before), and a Lepto shot (which the front desk recommended even though the VIP Mobile Pet Clinic that I took Kaiya to a week ago said she didn't need it).
I checked out at 3:32pm with a bill for $185...basically because Kaiya had some scabs on her head and they upsold me on some additional stuff that probably wasn't necessary. Ouch.
I'd say my experience with this place is pretty average. If I come back, I'll probably request a different doctor and make SURE I don't agree to any extra shots, tests, or services without getting a second opinion first. -

i had to bring my cat in for a checkup because the little boogar was vomiting and wasn't eating. i was able to make an appointment over the phone for the following day, which was a huge relief. at that point i was looking forward to the visit...but upon arriving was when i knew i probably wouldn't be coming back. there wasn't one specific event that occurred or something that one of the staff said, it was more of a feeling. the front desk guy gave me no smile and stared at me like i was an intruder as i walked in. i told him i had an appointment and he gave me a form to fill out. considering that this is still a "hospital" for pets, i expected them to be a bit more concerning. not once did he or any of the staff behind the counter ask how my little guy was doing.
about 10 mins later i was ushered into a tiny room with a counter and a corner sink. i was assigned dr. bar(?), who was very nice. after inspecting my cat and not finding anything wrong she said suggested we take some xrays and blood work to ensure his insides weren't failing. she then told me to wait while she got a quote for me first all the charges, which i thought was professional of her. what occurred next was another blow to my already slightly negative experience. a staff came in and showed me the quote...$500-$600!!! i'm not complaining about the amount itself. i understand that medical bills are steep, be it for humans or pets. but it was the way the staff presented it to me that bothered me. $500 isn't chump change, but the guy showed me the quote like it was for a $5 sandwich. i sat quiet for a moment just letting that amount sink in and reading over the quote line by line. he just crouched next to me silent, staring at me, kinda annoyed that i was taking so damn long to agree to a $500+ bill. i just felt really pressured at the time. he didn't offer any words of sympathy whatsoever. the whole thing felt very transactional.
the finale was at the very end of the visit when the same staff member handed me the pills for my cat to take. dr. bar had clearly stated for me to feed one to my cat the next day because they had already given some to him during the visit, which would last through to the next day. but then i was told by the staff to give one to my cat that very night...an obvious lack of communication there that i didn't appreciate. i am a minority amongst the many who have enjoyed their experience with all pets, but my quest for my go-to vet continues. -

I really wanted to write this review and say just how wonderful All Pets was in caring for my babies and how appreciative I am of their little clinic. The doctors and staff were great and really nice.
I brought my bird, dog and cat to All Pets since I needed certificates for travel. Dr. Herman looked after my bird and Dr. Gillespie looked after my dog and cat. Both followed up with me and in the case of my cat, provided me with tests results in an understanding and patient manner. If I didn't have to leave CA, I would definitely make All Pets my veterinarian.
Don't have much else to say, I just wanted my fellow yelpers to know. -

I attended All Pets for 5 years and had both good and bad experiences. As a dog freak I probably went to the vet too often, to be honest. I finally left them today after yet another poor appointment experience. To be fair, I never received poor vet advice from All Pets; it was just the feeling it was always about business that bothered me. Call me a crazy Socialist (which I am) but I want doctors and vets to care more about outcomes than profits.
That being said, If you want to be sold on teeth cleaning every visit or like being upsold constantly in one way or another this is the place for you. Even the Vet Techs hit you up on the phone when you schedule an appointment.
Also, if you're like I am and like to be seen at the scheduled appointment time, this is NOT the place for you. They pack this place in making it feel more like a DMV than a Vet. Lastly, dont even think about driving even though they advertise parking. I've spent hours of my life looking for parking but because they are constantly overbooked you will never find any. -

If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. I was able to come in at the last minute on a Saturday because the dog I was dog sitting had a limp. The staff was amazing, helpful and the follow up call showed they cared.
Bonus: I was able to get the xrays on CD from them. If I had to unfortunately go to a vet again I would use them! -

This review is for Dr. Alex Herman and her staff (not for any of the other vets). I take my dogs to Dr. Herman exclusively and she is truly the only vet I trust with my babies (please see review for Irving Pet Hospital for my second fave vet).
She loves my dogs, shes honest, caring, compassionate, helpful and I trust her implicitly. Vet costs are expensive everywhere and this hospital is not cheap but I can't put a price on my pets health. I pay for the trust and quality of the service as well as the *amazing* front desk staff and AHTs in the back. My dogs actually *love* going to the vet, particularly Buster.
I think he would be content to just hang out there all day getting lovins from everyone in the back.
Lets just be straight, I don't have kids, my dogs are my kids and this is one of few places that I really trust. -

A few days ago my 12 year old cat Mulder suddenly stopped eating and drinking and was foaming at the mouth. They got me in right away for an emergency appointment. It turned out that he had kidney failure, a kidney stone and liver problems. Dr. Gillespie is the best vet I've ever seen and I only wish Mulder had had something treatable because I know she could have fixed it.
I have no doubt this is the best place I could have spent one of the worst days of my life. If I ever have it in me to adopt another pet, I will definitely be bringing him/her here. -

I dunno.... My dog was vomiting all night and All Pets squeezed her into a morning appointment for an additional COST.
I am from out of town so i pretty much went off of the Yelp Reviews. Main reason why I am posting this now - to give another opinion of this place.
Everyone was really nice.
The vet pretty much painted the WORST case scenario I have ever heard and wanted to order every test possible. Thats fine, but honestly the dog wasn't as sick as the vet thought. We finally agreed that she would give my dog some IV fluids and an injection. The tech took my dog in back for less than five minutes. I am quite suspicious as to whether they actually gave my dog IV fluids - there is no way they could have done such a procedure in such a short time! She wasn't even wet at all, no bleeding, and I couldn't palpate the usual IV fluid subcutaneous bump that is typical in dogs.
I would be wary of this place - super nice, but not sure they did the treatment I paid a lot of money for! -

Brought my lionhead rabbit, Bunbun, here for the first time for a checkup and nail trim. Dr. Herman was the one who helped me and she was awesome. It's not easy finding a vet that is experienced with taking care of rabbits but Dr.Herman seemed very knowledgeable.
I was very surprised how gentle she handled Bunbun when she examined him. I brought my rabbit to another vet months before coming here and looking back, I feel that vet handled Bunbun like he was getting ready to slaughter him. The first vet experience I had, the vet grabbed him by the neck and held him down on the back to examine his genitals. Over here at All Pets Hospital Dr.Herman had an assistant to hold Bunbun up so she could examine the genitals. It was completely a different experience coming here. Another thing about this place is they seem to do all the procedures in the back room.
If I had other pets, I would definately bring them all here even though they're on the pricey side. All the staff were really nice and they seemed experienced with pets. My rabbit is pretty healthy so I can't rate them on how they are with sick pets but I trust they're good with sick pets too. I would definately recommend all pet owners to come here. I couldn't believe they even called me couple days after the visit to checkup on how my rabbit was doing. Awesome service here!! -

I have been taking my basenji to Dr. Gillespie for two years, and she has been the lead vet dealing with my dog's brain tumor. Dr. Gillespie and her team are all top notch, and are especially good with follow up.
My dog has seen a series of specialists, and I have been thrilled with how Dr. Gillespie talks with and coordinates all of them. She also referred me to a canine cancer researcher at UC Davis that our specialist was unaware of. The front desk staff are all friendly and helpful. When I have had an emergency question, they get me right through to the vet.
The only negative (as mentioned in other reviews) is the tiny parking lot, but there is usually ample street parking. Just bring your quarters. The waiting room is small too and can be challenging if you have a reactive pet since it's always busy. But this is an urban animal hospital and to be expected. -

I've been taking my cats to All Pets for 5 years now (and, as of January, my dog goes there too). All Pets is solid, but there are a few minor "ehs".
PLUSES:
+: Dr. Gillespie is smart, knowledgable, kind, and has a great bedside manner. She clearly loves animals and does an overall great job at working with them. She is very communicative -- she calls when she says she will, she returns calls promptly, and she's good about following up. She also always remembers my pets' names and histories -- I never feel like she doesn't know who I am or what my animals' health records look like.
+: Front desk staff and vet techs have all been friendly and pleasant to deal with.
MINUSES:
-Though I generally love Dr. Gillespie, sometimes I feel like she jumps, too quickly, to the worst-case scenario (even when it's not yet warranted). I guess she's just trying to cover all her bases. I want to be informed, so of course I want to know if my cat might have a tumor -- but I don't even want to hear the word "tumor" unless there are strong, clear signs pointing toward one. You feel me?
-Though they're friendly, I've had occasional miscommunications with members of the front desk staff.
-The parking-lot situation sucks. Yeah, it's nice that they have a tiny little 3-car lot, but it's on South Van Ness Ave. -- it's a nightmare trying to back your car out of there.1 Previous Review: Show all »

This is where my mom took me to make sure that I am healthy. My doctor is Dr. Gillespie. I got all sorts of things done here. I got fixed (eek!!), my baby teeth removed, and all my vacccinations. Dr. Gillespie is always very patient with all my mom's questions and she always returns my mom's call and answers all her questions so that mommy won't worry so much.
Everyone here are so friendly and sometimes, they even come out just to pet me when we are waiting to see the doctor.
They are open on Saturdays and they have a convenient parking area right in front of the building. That way, my mommy dont have to stress about parking and carrying me and my crate in the busy streets of San Francisco. -

We almost lost our bunny to e. cuniculi this summer, but I really felt like the vet I was taking him to wasn't being very pro-active, and he didn't appear to be giving up. So I did a lot of research and ended up taking him to Dr. Alex Herman. She is warm and kind and a good listener. With her help he has recovered and just had his 7th b-day. Best vet I've been to in SF! Great service and reasonably priced.
Everyone there is very honest, straightforward, and thorough. If they offer something that is out of your price range, they will help you find out where you can get it for a bit less. They are more concerned with making sure your pet gets the best care than with making money.

I can't say enough good things about All Pets Hospital.
On a Friday morning, my pet rabbit was not eating, huddled in a corner, and not using her litterbox, and she ALWAYS uses her litterbox. Uh-oh! I called and got an appointment for her within 45 minutes, and was actually seen even earlier than that.
Dr. Gillespie was so kind and gentle. She was honest and did give me the "worst-case" scenario, as my bunny's condition had suddenly gone from bad to worse. But she made it clear that she would do everything she could, and that the condition could potentially be life-threatening. As a veterinarian, it's her job to be honest, but she was gentle about giving me the whole picture.
The very next day, Parsley came home, and she was so much better! They had taken great care of her and I had gotten updates from Dr. Gillespie late Friday and early Saturday. Now, they had given me two cost estimates: a high end and a low end. I am a graduate student and have a very limited budget, so cost was a major concern for me. The final total ended up much closer to the LOW end estimate, and they even let me create an installment plan to spread the cost over the next two months.
Not many vets have the knowledge and experience to really help when something serious has gone wrong with an "exotic" pet like a rabbit or bird. Dr. Gillespie actually has a pet rabbit, and she really knows how to treat them. No, this is not a low-cost vaccination clinic. But if you want your pet to get the very best care, at a fair price, this is the place to go. -

I came here after a bad experience at another vet. My dog had a small lesion that concerned me and I had suspected it might be cancer. The other vet gave me "holistic" advice to feed her yogurt. Eeek.
Long story short, I found All Pets Hospital. They are FANTASTIC. They immediately diagnosed what I'd suspected and told me that time was the key to stopping the spread. She had surgery the same week. She's now been given a clean bill of health. The doctors and the staff are wonderful!
A few weeks later, my bird showed signs of respiratory problems. I took him in with an emergency appointment. He was examined and put on antibiotics. It's now a few days later and he's doing much better. I am so pleased to have found this place. It's nice to have people you can trust with the care of your pets!!

Not recommended! I took my 8 week old puppy in and they gave her a Lepto shot (which I read later on is NOT recommended and even if it is, they should NOT GIVE IT TO A PUPPY UNDER 12 WEEKS) :( I feel like such a bad mommy!
Other reasons not to go:
- They screwed up the appointment time for DAPP second round of shots. Instead of 3 weeks from when the pup had it (6 weeks old) they made it for 3 weeks after my visit (8 weeks)
- No answering machine
- I missed an appointment (since I"m switching vets) and they didn't call to see if I was running late or to remind me of her next vaccinations.
- Also, my pup was given Bortatella and that is also an optional vaccine for pups.
- Dr. Hershberger wasn't very interested in answering my questions. He left the room and a non-vet tech (nice girl said that she will officially study to be a vet tech soon) is the one who performed the vaccines!! -

The first time Brooklyn and I came to All Pets, I wasn't that impressed. I finally decided that it was time to get a vet in the city instead of traveling back down to Mountain View every time we needed to take the pooch in for a visit. When I made the appointment, I asked the person on the line if they wanted me to get my dog's records from the old vet and they said they could contact them for me. Awesome I thought. But when we got there for her appointment, they said the didn't get the records. I was a bit annoyed because I knew that they'd probably give Brooklyn shoots that she already had. The vet, Dr, Gillespie was nice though.
Fast forward to a year and a half later. Yes I kind of lagged at bringing Brooklyn in for her annual visit. I was debating if I should try out another vet. i decided to give All Pets another shoot. This time, the front staff was great. Nice, friendly and actually knew what they were doing this time. I can't tell if the staff was different from last time but it sure felt better.
This time I decided to try out Dr. Herman. She's great and knowledgeable. She answered all my questions and didn't push any additional products. She gave me an estimate on their dental services. Apparently Brooklyn's got some jacked up teeth and gums. Doh! I'm not sure if $500 is the going rate for dental services so I'm gonna have to do some research on it.
Price wise, I'm guessing they might be on the higher side.Listed in: All things doggie

My poor 3-year old weiner dog has way more problems than any adorably, cute young dog should have. Luckily I found All Pets to treat her dotingly and carefully!
All Sunday night, Roxy was walking around in circles, repeatedly sticking her tongue out like a frog and scratching phantom places around her body. I scheduled a Monday appointment quickly with Dr. Herman at All Pets. I thought they were going to look at me like a crazy person when I described her symptoms (she had calmed down a bit in the morning). Dr. Herman felt some key spots around her spine which caused her to yip so they sedated her for X-rays
The doctor called me to explain her condition before I went to pick her up. They found one calcified disc and two narrowed discs, the result of a condition called IVDD that long-backed dachshunds are especially prone to.
While Roxy whimpered in her sedated state at the hospital, a technician had fallen so in love with her she held Roxy even after her shift was over. I am so grateful to her for comforting my sensitive little pup when I couldn't be there. It means the world to me. Thank you!!!
All pets always proves to be a great vet hospital. In addition to this visit we have gone in to have a broken tooth removed and for an annual checkup. With their abundance of veterinary technicians in addition to three stellar vets, all of whom I've met, they provide excellent, attentive care.
Roxy is now on bedrest and anti-inflammatories, slowly recuperating. -

Until noon today, I was a rat owner. I LOVE RATS. They're like tiny dogs, or human kids, minus all that irritating "crying" and "getting CPS called on you" stuff that human kids entail.
Like I was saying, I am now a rat owner in the past tense. All Pets has taken super-professional care of my babies. I've come here for routine check-ups, tumor removals, infection dx & tx, and (alas) multiple euthanasias. Every visit here has been a consummate example of how a clinic should run...and I say that as someone who runs a clinic myself.
Drs. Herman and Gillespie have been caring, competent providers, whether I'm coming in for basic, happy, routine visits or for the Big Sleeps. Plus, Dr. Herman has GREAT tattoos. She was very good to my Biff today. He's been really sick, and has been in to see her about three times in the last two weeks. Each time I have seen her she has been very rational and thorough in explaining what is happening, offering options for care, and being very straightforward and honest when the only humane option is to let them go.
The front office and back office vet techs are also great. They remember your pets and are really happy to see them. They have gone out of the way to get me in to the office in a timely fashion when I've got an emergency. Like today. I really appreciate those hard-working guys and gals. They're a lot tougher than I am; I wouldn't survive working a day in a vet's office. They do it every day with a great attitude.
As much as I love rats, I won't be getting any more. I'm just not resilient enough to have a pet die after 2 years. But if you have rats or other "exotic" pets, All Pets is the only place in town to take them. They also see the more common canine and feline babies, but as a former rat owner, I am really deeply indebted to everything these folks did for my kids when no other office in town would or could see them.
Thanks, All Pets!

this review is on behalf of Fabio, a 6-year old domestic short haired cat (http://fabiodelfante.p...):
I usually dread going to the vet. To be honest, I'm terrified of anything outside of the dog-free confines of my home. But my mum said I have to go to the vet to get looked at. I tried to get out of it, but then Dad and her teamed up and put me in a bag. Zipped me right up. Off to the vet.
The staff at All Pets turned out to be okay human people. They were very sweet and treated me with love and respect. It was actually a pleasant trip (other than when they put a thermometer in my butt).
I got my check up, immunizations, and nails clipped in only half an hour! Phew, glad it's over with. Now I feel healthy and spunky and ready to pounce on things. -

I took my dog in a year ago for a mole type of thing growing and walked out paying over $250 dollars....and it was not even removed. The vet was great, but then I felt as though I was at Macy's with the sales person trying to up sell me into buying items that I could get for half the price at the pet store.
Second time I came in contact with them I was getting my car fixed down the street and a kitten came up to me.....thinking they were a vet and would be able to help with this kitten on the loose I took the kitten to All Pets. The receptionist was not pleasant at all and basically told me I could not leave it with them. I explained that I just found it and was already late for work and she told me I could not leave it with them and that I should take it to the SPCA........actually she was extremely rude as well.
Third time......I made a purchase online to get heartguard and was told they now need to contact my vet....so I had them call All Pets (who is the only vet my dog has ever gone to) and apparently All Pets said I needed to have my dog brought in for a test....which they did a year before and I got a years worth of Heartguard (at a very expensive rate) before they would approve the script........
It just goes to show they don't really give a damn about pets, but are much more interested in trying to up sell you into buying crap you can get at retail places for much cheaper....and if you try then they want to get money out of you by making you come in before they write a script for prescriptions.........THEY WILL NEVER GET ANOTHER DIME OUT OF ME and I hope other will read this and stay away..... -

We love this place. We took our hamster in because our regular vet didn't take "rodents." We took her in on two separate occasions; each time they were loving and courteous and gave our little girl amazing care. When we ended up losing her to a tumor they sent a lovely card and while I know that's kind of standard, it felt like they were genuinely sorry she lost her battle. She was a special hamster and they seemed to know it.
I haven't taken our cat in yet as our home vet (in addition to our hospital vet - yeah we're one of those) has been sufficient, knock on wood - but I wouldn't hesitate as I believe these are all very good people, and very well qualified. -

I took my rat Remmy in yesterday for a pre-neuter check up. I had been referred to their sister hospital originally, but when told that they didn't accept small animals, I called All Pets.
The staff was very nice and Dr Gillespie was a sweetheart and got rid of Remmy's mites... their service is great, BUT....
When I called to get a price check on neutering fees for rats, they told me that I had to make an appointment first and that it would be $60 for my initial visit. That's fine, it's a normal vet fee, but when I got to the appointment and asked how much the neuter would cost I was quoted 600-700 dollars.
This is robbery. I had consulted the internet prior to calling All Pets and a standard rat neuter typically costs $100-200. After feeling like All Pets had raped my wallet, I returned home and called the rat rescue I had rescued my other rat from. She told me that that was an insane price and to give another vet a call (Pacifica Vetrinary). I did and was quoted $75.00!!! That's it!
So All Pets did not quote me the original price for the neuter, which was the only reason I was bringing my rat in in the first place, for his pre neuter consultation. And effectively took 90 dollars from me for a pointles visit (at least I got a shot out of it...)
I'm sure All Pets is great for cats and dogs, but if you have a small animal, I suggest that you do your research on pricing before bringing your little guys here. -

So, I have this 17 year old cat. And because life is crazy, right around the time I had a break up and had to move, I also found out from All Pets that she has diabetes. The only thing that sucked more than this news was finding out how much it would cost to treat her (a lot). But, I have to say, All Pets has been so great throughout the whole process that I can almost forget about how I can't afford to buy a couch anymore. It has been a few weeks since I started giving her the insulin, and Dr. Gillespie has called me multiple times to find out how she's doing and offer advice. She also had me come in for an appointment to learn how to give the insulin (at no charge) and encouraged me to come back anytime if I felt like I needed a refresher or encouragement.
All of the staff at All Pets have been great too. They're patient and warm, and take the time to tell me how my cat has been doing whenever I come to pick her up. They were also kind enough to pretend that nothing was happening on the two occasions when I inexplicably busted into tears in their office. As others have mentioned, they have excellent hours and always get me in and out quickly. This is a great place. -

My wife and I are so grateful to the staff at APHSF for enabling our geriatric and ailing bird, Louis, to enjoy his last few hours on earth.
These guys REALLY care about their patients and their customers.
