Moving is not a fun process. Packing, boxes everywhere, "where is that thing I thought I packed in that one box under those other boxes?".

Needless to say, the movers better be on their game to make this last step as easy as possible.

I chose All My Sons for several reasons:

    1. I see their trucks everywhere in Austin. Good sign, right?
    2. I priced AMS and another company and AMS had a cheaper price with a better rating system. By the hour is more appropriate than by the box in my case.
    3. They were super friendly on the phone.

I set up an appointment and eagerly anticipated my Saturday move. My fiance and I moved odds and ends and some small boxes the day before. The fewer items the movers had to move, the quicker the process would go. Come Saturday, everything was packed and ready by the door. I waited to hear from the movers... I should hear some time between noon and 3 p.m. By 2 p.m., I headed back over to the old place to clean and wait... and wait... and wait. By 3:15 pm and no word, I called All My Sons and the man on the phone told me they were en route. OK, so wait... and wait... and oh, there's the truck pulling up outside at 4 pm.

I met them outside and was greeted by two movers and a jokey "Are you mad at us?" Me: "Well, you're an hour late and you never called me."

Come to find out, my scheduled movers were no shows and these two came in on their day off to pick up the slack. They took some hyper pills and got everything out of that one-bedroom apartment in 30 minutes. They seemed to slow down when they got to the new place and it took double the time to unload. I'm just glad it's over and done with.  I hope I don't have to move for a very long time...

    .
All I'm saying is that we're missing a box of very important things.  A very noticeable box of things. I'm not saying or hinting at anything.. really.. Heh.  I mean, these guys know where I live, so.. that would be dumb of me to just flat out accuse them of stealing without evidence. Or lack there of.

Also our moving destination was a very short distance and the grand total for 2 hrs was $300. They didn't stay for the whole 2 hours and one of the guys gave me lip when I found more boxes that we had forgotten about.

Left their trash lying around, too.

Do not use this firm unless you want all of your stuff to get broken in the process.

These bozos entered my world when the national provider managing my long distance move to Austin was unable to find a local crew to unload the truck. So they put out a distress call and All My Sons answered. Much to my eternal regret.

The crew seemed to be working hard, and I kept them going with ample refreshments and food.  But then they suddenly quit working at 5pm and left me and the driver alone to haul boxes and furniture to the right rooms and assemble them ourselves. That's unprofessional and lazy.

I'm still paying for the ineptitude of the All My Sons crew weeks later, as I have to move all the stuff they piled on top of each other from room to room, finding more and more damaged stuff in the process.

Thanks for making my move an awful one, guys.

I would give them ZERO stars.  It took me over a year to post this because I was so mad and needed to cool down.  They stole from me.  When the estimator came she told me that the same people would pack, load and unload me.  They did it that way so that if something went wrong they knew who to blame.
That was the first LIE.  I treated these people very nicely.  I ordered lunch from the Red Onion Deli with a price tag over $59.  The first crw came and packed.  Then an crew with some new members came to load the truck.  I ALWAYS pack my own jewelry.  This time I left my small box in a drawer.  I should have known something was up when a loader asked if I wanted the drawer that my jewelry was in needed to be packed.  Apparently it hadn't been packed.  Once we got to Dalas is when I learned that that small jewelry box was the only thing missing from that drawer.  Both Grandmother's wedding rings, my father in law's weeding band, my push present(pearl bracelet(Noah's birth stone) with saphire clasp(my birth stone)), my 21st birthday diamond earing and my mom's pearl earings.  There was other less expensive small things.  They were mostly heirlooms and not worth that much.  When My hubby called the owner he said he knew no one would steal.  I found the whole situation curious!  "Do you want this drawer packed?" kept going through my mid.  But since they had different people each day it was too hard to pin point who stole it.  They offered us only $600 because we did not take the insurance.  I fed them wel and tipped well and this is what I got.  I wish I never would have hired them.  I wished I would have read these reviews ahead of time.
We move about once a year and I have NEVER had a worse move.  Each organization is different but this one is by far the worst.
Oh and I packed half the house but they didn't take any money off my move.  I just moved again(over 1,000 miles away) and packed the same amount and they took $1,000 off the price.  This place was a rip off.

I been meaning to write up a review about All My Sons. They were on time and had enough man power to move all my things. Very fast and efficient.
However, they did NOT cover furniture like wood dressers and end tables. Found scratches and dents on almost everything.. including our fridge!
Really nice guys.. but why not cover furniture? Especially wood furniture? Only thing that got covered was our tv.

I just gave a friend a hand with a couple items while AMS was unloading at her new place. At over $100/hr for 3 movers + an additional hour charged for drive time, the pricing is pretty high....especially when they managed to take five hours to move a 1/1 apartment. The real problem was watching the driver pressure her into paying cash, claiming to give her a better deal than if she paid by credit card. I'm just going to guess that's not company policy.

NEGATIVE STARS!! First of all they quoted me $94/hr, fine, then they quote me a 2hr window for the movers to be here, fine.  What wasn't fine was, the end of the 2hr window comes around and I've gotten no call.  When I call, they say .. 'oh I thought I called and left you a message.'  They finally show up 2 and a half hours later!! Then after all is said and done, they over charge me by almost $100!! turns out its a 'travel fee'?? The dispatcher swears up and down he advised me of it, and I tell him no way!! They did end up refunding the amount, but still a total headache, I should have just moved everything myself! DO NOT USE THESE GUYS!! The customer service is completely nonexistent!!

ZERO stars. They totally robbed my mom. The guys with the teardrop tattoo on the corner of their eye, yeah, they held my mom's stuff hostage in the van and would not unload until she agreed to pay them an additional $1100!!!! RIGHT OUT of a 20/20 episode. TOTAL SCAM by recently released convicts. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!! Tell your friends!

If there were negative stars, they would get them. They never showed up, they never called and when I tried calling one of 4 different phone numbers, the voicemail all went to the same person that never called me back. So i gave up a serving shift the night before to get ready for them, so there goes money I need out the door and then wasted most of Saturday, waiting for nothing. Keep looking elsewhere for movers because these people are completely unprofessional.

I am also sorry I used this mover.  They showed up two hours late, took a 30 minute break 15 minutes into the job, didn't give a hoot about taking care of my furniture, just dropped things in the middle of the room and piled the boxes in the garage without any attempt to organize them so we could pass through to unpack.  We had some furniture damage and the price was double what they quoted.  I would give them zero stars if I could.

Loading and unloading boxes and furniture from apartment to house with one stop at another house for additional pickup of some furniture. Overall, it went well. They sent three men to handle my job. They disassembled my beds and washer/dryer. I also had a few extremely heavy items. They took extra care of my fragile pieces and were very helpful even when I couldn't decide where to put furniture in the new house. It took way longer than they estimated (almost double). I'd recommend estimating higher to your potential customer so there are no surprises at the end.
