We used All My Sons for our recent move from Houston to New Orleans, and I couldn't be happier.  I chose them because their pricing was simple, reasonable, and they gave me a "will not exceed" price.  Our total price at the end was about $1500 cheaper than the "will not exceed" price, so I was happy.

They came on time and packed everything with care and efficiency.  For my 3 bedroom/2 bath house, including outdoor furniture, grill, etc., it took them 7 hours to pack and load everything. Great! Glad I didn't have to do it!

In New Orleans the next day, it took them under 3 hours to unload everything off the truck, including a HUGE, heavy dresser that they moved upstairs without a scratch.

Shaun, Mike ("Skinny"), and Carlos were my team and I loved them.  Great guys, very professional, fun folks.  I'd definitely use All My Sons again and I'd ask for the same team again - they were awesome.

I don't believe that these people got 5 stars from anyone.  Read the other posts carefully and make sure they look legit, because my move was horrible.

My advice if you do use them:  Just make sure they give you a hard time estimate and agree to not charge you over a certain limit...or they will go as slowly as humanly possible.

A few indications that they are consistently shady:
    1.  I heard the main mover (Jamie I think) say to the other guy, Wendall, that "We're not gonna make any money today, I shoulda just stayed on the couch"
    2.  When they called 48 hours in advance to confirm, I said "are there any other fees above $94/hour" and they said "NO."  There is a 10% fuel surcharge.  Also be aware they charge a 1-hour travel fee on top...but they tell me that's standard.
    3.  A neighbor saw us with them and said "be careful and don't leave them alone or they'll go really slow...they over-charged me about $900 for my in-town move
    4.  The owner blamed it on having 3 elevators and on the rain.  They went up or down the elevator no more than 5 times at each place...for about 30 seconds each time.  Let's round up and say that is 20 minutes total.  What do they normally do...only work on the first floor???

    Move details: 3 stops
-my 1-bedroom, which was an already disassembled bed and about 20 boxes/items nicely stacked in the living room...and a 5-piece big desk.
-My girlfriend's place--a 1 bedroom fully furnished but also all boxes stacked in living room.
    -Moved to a 2-bed.
All three had elevators, two of which were freight style so could be loaded to full and then raised to the floor...making it very easy.  All three places were within about a 5-mile travel area and we got them front-row parking, out of the rain at each.

    IT TOOK THEM 7-8 hours!!!

My place - previous move took under 1 hour to move out and in...took them from 9:30 to 11:00 with my help (extra 30-45 min)
Her place - took 1:15 to move in...took them from 11:15 to 1:15 with two of us helping (extra 45-60 min)
New place - I said I'd tip $100 if they could unload in an hour...they took over 3 hours and all they had to do was drop everything off in the room.  in that time I unloaded my entire SUV and my girlfriends car, using the stairs so they could use the elevator.  Took them from 1:30 to 4:30 (extra 120 min)...plus they lingered for an hour while I yelled at the boss trying to get my money back.

I budgeted about $300-400 including a nice $100 tip if they were good.  I talked him down from around $860 to $718 final price...and obviously 0 tip.  My girlfriend spent $700 on a move from Austin to Houston...and it took an hour to unload and she has 2/3 of our stuff.

We hired them so that I could relax!!!

...but at my apartment I borrowed a big trolley and brought about 30 cubic feet of boxes on each trip with the guys.   At the other two I was literally carrying boxes and tables to the elevator for them, loading the truck while they were dilly-dallying, etc.  They even took smoke breaks.  I put the bed back together because they were taking too long to put the screws in.  I told them to put half the stuff in one room and then drop the rest in the hallway because they were already double time and we just want this over with.

After they left around 5pm, my girlfriend and I moved the beds in, and the 10-12 boxes left in the hallway.  I always feel bad not tipping, but these guys were either dishonest (probably) or just plain lazy and horrible at their job (also probable).

Just don't use them and go with someone professional.

I hate moving, but All My Sons made it an easy experience.

I scheduled my move first thing, 8 am, on a Saturday morning. If you have any time restrictions or want your move at a specific time, I highly recommend getting the first spot. Since I had the first spot of the day, they showed up on-time. I had 2 guys and a truck for $89 an hour. 3 Guys Moving said it would $120 an hour. No way.

I did 99% of packing on my own which really allows the guys to concentrate on moving and not packing; however, they will help you pack if you need it.

After about an hour of moving boxes, we drove to Port Arthur. In the pre-move call, I was told it was a flat 3 hr drive. Although it took the truck longer they stuck with their estimate.

The unpacking was super quick too and at no point did it look like they were rough with my boxes.

Whether you are moving to Port Arthur or Midtown, I highly recommend All my sons moving. They are on-time, honest, efficient and don't pull any hidden tricks.

_Pre-Move_I chose All My Sons for my move to Dallas because of price (no hidden fees), # of movers, and their responsiveness when I submitted an online quote (same-day). They called me two days before my move to confirm move time.

_Rates_$89/hour for two men, whether it be packing, unpacking, moving, or driving, it was the same flat rate. A set 10 hours was allocated to driving, which covers round trip. This is good because then you don't get penalized if there is traffic. S/M/L boxes range from $4-8, dish boxes were $11, and wardrobe boxes would be free (as long as you returned them at the end of the move).

_Punctuality_The only reason I am giving them 4 instead of 5 stars is because they were late. Not a good way to start. They were supposed to arrive at 8 am, called them at 8:30 to see where they were, said they would be there shortly but had some gas tank problems (excuses excuses), and finally arrived at 9:15 am.

_Packing_I packed mostly everything myself except for the kitchen, which I let them handle. They did a very thorough job of wrapping EACH individual dish/pan, but some things that I didn't feel need to be wrapped (like tupperware, canned soup, napkins!) were needlessly wrapped. If you are paying for movers yourself (my company reimbursed me) and time is money, I would recommend packing certain things yourself. Otherwise, if your company is paying for it, by all means, let them pack it all.

_Damage Prevention_I was very pleased about the number of blankets they would wrap my furniture up in to ensure no damage was done. 5 stars for this.

All in all, tardiness aside, the move was very seamless and the movers were very polite and professional.

I chose this company for our in-town move because the pricing was simple and we needed 3 movers and they didn't complain or make a big deal of this.  3 movers with a truck was $109/hr.  Simple.  They called and confirmed everything with me before the move.  The guys were a little late (the reason for 4 stars) but we scheduled in the afternoon.  They had two moves before us, so I can see getting a little of track.  They did call and let us know, so there's that.  The guys were quck and efficient.  No wasting time.  They were professional and friendly.  If we have to move again, we will definitely use them again.
