All I can say is good things about this place. Called early in the day on a friday to have a catalytic converter installed. They quoted me a price on the phone and said they could do the work that day as well. Showed up later that day and the guy told me the same price and that it will be done in 30 minutes. He immediately took my vehicle in and started repairs. I waited in their ever so quaint waiting area and he was done in 15 min. I was in and out just like that. I know a thing or two about welding and he did great work.

Wow, I don't know if these other reviews are made up by the owners, but I would not come back here. I was quoted a price over the phone, then got another price when i got in. They told me it'd take 30 mins over the phone, then told me it'd be an hour once i got there. I brought my car in to replace the catalytic converter so that i could pass smog check, but after finishing the job they said they didn't know how to turn off the check engine light and i'd have to go to another mechanic for that. Are you joking?! Even the guys that change my oil can turn that thing off.
I was quoted a lower price at Golden Auto Muffler & Brake Center, but came here because it was closer. Go there instead! -

Brmmmmm*bump*...BWAAAAAAAHHH!!!!
The Bitchin' Saturn Wagon showed its age and midwestern provenance when the bolts holding together the exhaust rusted to the shape of spent birthday candles. It finally let loose on the whoop-de-doos of the big rig-pounded promenades of Bayshore Industrial shangri-la.
Enter All-Exhaust.
It's ala carte, with a silent 't'. Or in my case, 'ALA CRATE'. Your ride goes up on the lift for your inspection, and repair options appear on a menu, that pipe is $35, that muffler is $45, this whole section with catalytic converter and woven flexpipe is $90. Each component is itemized, so you may prioritize according to your budget and omit/include exactly what you want. No hidden costs, no hard sell.
Eight years of salty winters were not kind to the Red Rocket's plumbing (or my own for that matter), so I opted to replace everything but the resonator, which was still serviceable. Total damage: A shade over $200 with a one year warranty.
The icing on the cake was when I returned to see he already had the car up on the lift so I could inspect all components and work, which was clean and professional.
..which my clothes would not be as I'd have been underneath with a flashlight faster than you could say "Mechanics Creeper".
UPDATE 11/15/07: FULL 5 STARS.
I returned with an annoying squeak/rattle at the rear. I less than 10 min. he re-cut & welded the exhaust and modified the muffler bracket perfectly - FOR NO CHARGE!Listed in: A Gearhead's Essentials

I was in and out of there in 15 minutes for one quick spot weld to a loose (noisy) exhaust system bracket.
The gentleman helping me said the minimum charge was normally $25 but only charged me $15.

god I love yelp.
My brother drove my car for a while and came back with a broken muffler, he claimed it would be cheap and no big deal...right. So I take it to the muffler place on fell and its going to cost me $180 plus tax! wtf!
Needless to say I was pissed. But before I blew up I figured I would try another place just to be sure. The reviews on here seemed promising so I hopped on down to the mission to All Muffler and Auto Services. They said it was a simple weld job that would only cost me 35 bucks and only take half an hour. YEEEES thank you yelp reviewers for saving me $165
Its not fancy or anything and there really isn't anywhere to wait but they do a good job for cheap and they do it fast! -

Some sterling citizen stole my catalytic converter the other night while I was parked on the street in Potrero Hill. I had always thought it was a *good thing* that older Toyotas had great ground clearance on stock 31s. I guess the crackheads like that as well...easy access.
Turned out my deductible was more than the cost of a new cat so I got on Yelp, got some quotes and decided on All Muffler. As I pulled my 4 cylinder 4Runner into the shop (which at this point sounded like a 454 Chevy) I saw the look of sympathetic pain on the mechanic's face. Apparently I was the 4th person *that morning*. At least someone is seeing an upside to this cat-theft epidemic. Anyway, 99 bucks for a non-Toyota cat, 145 for a factory part. I opted for factory and with no appointment they had it welded on in under 30 minutes. Great work, easy as pie and nice guys to boot.
Now to find a shop to fab me a custom skid plate that will keep this from happening so easily in the future... -

I'll just corroborate the other reviews. These guys do drama-free good work for a spectacularly reasonable price. Cool.
Here's the great discovery, though. While the waiting room at All Muffler is not a suite at the Ritz, a couple of doors east there's a very fine Burmese lunch-counter called Yamo's. I can't say enough about how delicious the food there is. First time there, so haven't tried much of the menu, but the seafood noodle broth has these lightly fried lentil cakes and peas complimenting the delicious catfish, and the tea-leaf salad is among the best I've had. -

Dirt cheap, quick and efficient, these guys fixed my exhaust system in under an hour. I was impressed!
The dealer told me they could fix my muffler for $600...so, procrastination set in for a couple of years until the car had to pass smog...couldn't believe these guys quoted $55 parts and labor for a muffler! -

Like other reviewers I was a victim of catalytic converter theft. After calling around and being shocked by what I might have to pay I called All Muffler and not only was the price great, they were immediately able to take me and get it done. They got started right away. They told me an hour and when I came back in 40 minutes it was done. For just a little over $300 I had a replacement converter. Granted it is not a factory one, but they said that their generic one, which was welded on, was less likely to get stolen.
All in all they made an unpleasant event go away much quicker than I would have thought. -

A friend also recommended us this shop after I'd checked their reviews on Yelp and decided to give it a try. My husband and I came down there for getting a new muffler last Friday. The price we got was lower than we expected and they were very friendly. For us, that's all we need!
Btw, I know it's not my business but I really want to say something for All Muffler. While we were waiting for our car, my husband mentioned to this guy called Peter (don't know he's the owner or manager) that they've got one star on Yelp which was a kind of shame. He told us that this writer did call for his scooter and he didn't take his job since they never had this service but the writer never came to the shop in person and never being treated rude on the phone! -

Price range is average on wielding a muffler the cost is around $40-$50. They don't like to communicate much with you but they get the work done, and they don't have a waiting room just old chairs that look like it never been clean. However their work is good and not pricey for wielding a muffler and the best part is don't need to wait in line.

Fantastic shop. Peter fixed my muffler on one car for $40 and changed my oxygen sensor with no charge for labor. Both would have cost me much more in another shop I brought the car to. Great service, highly recommended!

I have no complaints. Your car starts to get noisy, your exhaust pipe has rusted through, you drive in to All Muffler, you come back 30 minutes later, you pay $35, and you drive away. No more hole, no more noise, nice welded back together exhaust pipe.

The muffler on my car broke loose, and needed to be fixed ASAP. I called on Friday and they said to drop by on Saturday anytime. I came in at 10am, and they took a look, quoted me $35 bucks, and then put it straight up on the rack and fixed it while I waited. I was in and out in 15 minutes! The only reason I gave only 4 stars is because there was no real waiting area, so I ended up just standing around outside while I waited.

fast service, very inexpensive. I've had exhaust system work and brake work done on two cars there this year. Peter, who seems to run the place, is very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. He will discuss all options of repair/don't repair, factory parts/3rd party parts with you for as long as you like. The work is very inexpensive, even with the occasional add-on.
In particular, the rubber seals on my drive axle had split. This was noticed at an oil change place and they quoted me $800 to replace both sides. I had this done yesterday at All Muffler for $110 per side.
All the work has been done in under a day, sometimes within hours.
As for the fellow who knocked off a star because there's no waiting room, next time I recommend walking up 18th street a block and a half to Tartine and wait in there. Give Peter your cell number and he'll call you there when he's done. Best waiting room in the city. -

I was initally quoted $25 to have an exhaust tip welded on my car by Peter. I came in and he did the work in less than 15 minutes. To my surprise, he told me that it was free of charge. It was because it only took minutes to work on it. I was shocked that Peter would refuse money during these rough times. So far it's holding up pretty well. So folks to sum it up, I would not hesitate to go back to this honest guy for any type of muffler work. Thanks Peter!

Good honest people: that's who operates All Muffler. When the bolts holding my muffler in place rusted and all but broke away, I drove my 2000 Acura to one muffler shop only to be told that I 'HAD' to replace a number of different parts and needed to pay them hundreds of dollars to get the work done. I don't like to be told what to do and I learned a long time ago to always get a second opinion. I headed over to All Muffler where their customer service impressed me, to say the least. Unlike the other place, All Muffler will first diagnose the problems with your muffler (and, in my case, the rest of your car) and will then itemize all of the repairs and parts that you will need to get your car in great shape again and, the best part, how much it'll cost you. While All Muffler uses their expertise and skills to diagnose the problems, they still let the customer control what happens to their car and ultimately how much they're willing or can afford to spend. What can I say? I like to be in control. What's interesting is that two of the issues that the previous place had said were a must to be fixed, the guys at All Muffler said were in good working condition, considering the age of my car. To get a new muffler installed, All Muffler's prices start at just $39.95. These people are definitely on the side of their customers.

My son needed a new muffler for his 1987 Honda Accord.
Took it there this morning. Got there about 10 AM and was around 10:45 AM. He needed a muffler and about five feet of exhaust pipe with numerous bends in it. All told, it was $110 out the door. Here's a tip, if you pay cash, they'll give you a discount. I was quoted $110 PLUS tax but was charged $110 even because I paid with cash (and yes, I still got a receipt).1 Previous Review: Show all »

I was having some muffler issues with my car, and after reading the great reviews from this spot. Decided to check it out for myself. I arrived a little before 5pm on a Friday and was happy to see that they were able to take my car in right away. Very friendly guys, and worked on the car super fast, as I waited to guy called me over to point out what was wrong with my car, along with point out of issues I may thingk about looking into. Total price was about less then $50, which I was very happy since considering I had no idea what was really wrong with my muffler. I will HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone with muffler issues!

I located this business in the first place, due to "Yelp." On a '93 VW Eurovan: replaced catalytic converter; eliminated resonator (small muffler midway in the exhaust system); repaired exhaust pipe hangers (from a previous mishap), re-routed and installed new pipe the full length of the van; kept original muffler (it was still okay); installed new tail pipe; one and a half hours (I had a nice Mexican meal on Mission St.); $230 out the door! One year warranty, and they'll help you out if anything happens beyond the year. Courteous, efficient. They do custom / performance exhaust too (up to 2 1/2 inch diameter pipe). A great deal. THANK YOU YELP!!!

I went there with my scooter, and they told me they don't do scooters. I was laughing at the guy because no matter what it is, a car, a truck, a moped or a scooter, a muffler is a muffler and as long as they have a welder basically they can fix it. I could even do it myself, but I don't have a welder. I went to 2 other shops, they saw the scooter, told me they don't have mufflers for scooters, but if it only needs a weld, they can do it. Proof that it was just plain rude for All Muffler to tell me to go away. Service is service, and I know we're in America, and that only cash counts, nothing else, but still that's a pretty bad attitude when someone needs help!

my mechanic told me that he would have to disassemble my whole muffler to find the problem, and the repair might cost up to $700. of course i would have to make an appointment, and bring the car back in a week.
these guys charged me $150, and i was in and out in 45 minutes. -

Just incredible I took my car to have the breaks inspected cause they were making noise and Peter did the inspection so I'm thinking you better be ready for the cost, but to my surprise the breaks were okay and needed cleaning and adjustment so Peter did the job and I ask him how much and he said no charge I said what no charge mind you this is a mechanic how many mechanics have you heard say those words none... I was very happy I was in at 8:00 and out at 8:45. If you need your breaks done come to All Muffler and Auto services you will get an honest mechanic. Thank you Peter...

These guys are awesome! I originally went to the Midas down the street from me, but they were asking $105 just to weld on some exhaust tips, so I called these guys. I went in, and an hour later the new tips were on, at a MUCH more reasonable price. I'm going to be recommending these guys to everyone I know who needs any kind of exhaust work done.

Thank you yelp for this wonderful recommendation! After my car failed a smog check I was told I needed a new catalytic converter. The repair shop that told me this said it would cost $671 plus a 1/2 hour labor fee.
All Muffler and Auto Services did it for $105 in less than 30 minutes. I called late Friday afternoon and they were able to do it the next morning. No waiting when I got there, I drove right in!! My car passed the smog check with flying colors. I wish everything was this easy. -

This may sound like a broken record since so many people are giving this place high rating, but I had to come and give my 5 stars.
This place is fast, super service, great price! I see other mechanics brining in cars. I think this a very good sign.
