Review from Mark R.

After stopping in today for a late lunch, I was very impressed with this place. They have a very abbreviated menu, but work hard to get local foods, and everything is vegetarian.
My girlfriend and I split the grilled cheese (today's was truffle falls cheese with blackberry jam, on a baguette), and an order of black bean sliders. The grilled cheese was rich and buttery, and the jam was a nice compliment to the overall flavor. The sliders were surprisingly complex, featuring pickled vegetables, and a cilantro mayo, which came together very nicely, and it's probably nitpicky of me to say I would've liked a little more jerk flavor.
We each had a blackberry dark chocolate truffle tartlet for dessert, which was probably the highlight, dense and flavorful, with a flaky crust.
The staff was very friendly, and they have loaves of fresh baked bread available, which I will likely return for. Prices were very reasonable, and was just under $20. The portions were on the smaller side, although this is not to say I went away hungry. They also only had water, coffee, or apple cider as beverages, which is likely more of a function of them being more of a take-out place, as they have a small dining area, of three tables. Overall, a great experience, and I am excited to see what this place will look like in their new space. -

I love the concept, love the fact they use local and sustainable ingredients, and they seem like a great couple with a cute kid. But the bread I purchased was only OK. Olive bread was extremely light on the olives (just a few flecks) and sourdough a very conservative version. Crust light, cautiously slashed.
I think they are going for a middle-of-the-road audience but would like to see All Good Bakers provide some more aggressive options, especially at the prices which are not cheap ($6-7 for a 24-oz. loaf IIRC.)Comment from Britin and Nick F. of All Good Bakers 4/28/2012

Whether you have a tempeh veggie burger, flatbread, or delicious (really) grilled cheese, AGB has you covered. Get a loaf to go. I was amazed how fresh it still tasted a few days after being dug into. I haven't had their soups quite yet. I do wish they were open on holiday Mondays AND that they had more seating. Also, it would be cool if Farmer Jon could sell their bread at his farmstand in Glenmont the summer. After all, they buy his produce!

Fan-effing-tastic! I love that there is a community bakery walking distance from my house. Not only are their baked goods made with local and organic ingredients, they're made with love, too. You can tell, just from chatting with Britin that she really believes in sustainability, local businesses and the products that she sells.
They're a little on the pricey side, but when you're working with local and organic ingredients, you have to expect to pay a little more than you would for mass-produced goods of a lesser quality.
They offer (currently, maybe not forever) a 10% discount for not driving, so walk, bus or bike over.
Why not 5 stars? Because they just opened and they've already impressed me. I just wanted to leave them a little room for improvement. -

I first visited this place 3 weeks ago and have been back every weekend since. The brunch they serve is inventive, unique, a great value for the price (not expensive)- oh, and absolutely delicious! They make their own butter from local cream and the quality this imparts to their baked goods is remarkable. The menu changes up a bit every week depending on what is in season.
A menu example: A peppercorn goat cheese sandwich grilled to perfection on fresh sourdough with a healthy slather of an IPA garlic pepper jelly. Yes, please!Listed in: Best of the Capital District

This is an amazing new business with hardworking owners who are truly trying to make the world a better place through their food! We've bought bread from farmer's markets all over New England, and the Sourdough Rye was some of the best bread I have ever had! We also took other treats to go, and they were unique and really tasty (vegan cinnamon rolls, grilled cheese sandwiches, energy treats). Please go support them! My husband and I live in NYC and plan to stop by every time we return to Albany (usually there on business). To me, their prices are very competitive and we've eaten at local-based shops like these all over New England. Thanks Britin and Nick (and Katie) for everything!

i go here almost every weekend (only open friday through sunday). they have vegan options, which is why i am drawn to this place. their vegan cinnamon buns are 2.50(they perfected them). i usually get the vegan cinnamon bun but the other day i got a muffin which was also yummay! they have coffee for a dollar. deal breaker! what attracts me even more to this place is that they use mugs instead of paper cups. the owners seem to actually care about the environment ,their customers and quality. they are a small bakery, so i would not recommend bringing a large group of people here. definitely bring a pal so you're not the only one obsessing about this little treasure in albany.
