This place was a little hard to find considering it's right in the middle of a strip of shops. I almost passed it going south of Harbor! Thank god for Google maps or I would have gone straight towards the beach and never have found this place.
Anyway, gotta say first that this place is built to look like a cottage. No joke, it is the homeliest and cutest building there. Walking in, the waiting room is riddled with cute pictures of animals and it looks like my great-aunt's living room. The staff here is wonderful and the receptionist greeted me and my sister's Dutch rabbit with such enthusiasm! I loved it! I'm a totally loud and outgoing chick so when people greet me the way I'd normally greet my old buddies, I felt so welcome. I love this place. I live a block away from South Coast Plaza so my pets usually go to Animal Medical Center cause it's closer, but if I lived near this place, I'd definitely go here for the great care and service they provide to their patients. My sister goes here because they accept small animals such as her bunny so totally understandable!
Go here if you have small pets, or big pets! -

I brought my chinchilla, here twice because he was sick. I don't have any exotic vets around my area, but am willing to drive here because the doctor was so good with George. I'm glad I chose ACCC and i'm going to stick with them! This place is cute inside and very home-like! and the staff is very nice and friendly as well. I'm going to take my other chinchilla, Sumo, here for a check up! =)

I've been going to ACCC since I was a child. They have always been good to my pets and me.
When my first dog, Bitty, had to be put to sleep at the age of 16, Dr. Pasco let me hold her head. Then he let me stay with her a long time afterwards.
He was always so good with my second dog, Audrey. When we had to take a big trip not only did we board her there, but Dr. Pasco would take her home with him every night. Audrey also lived to be 16 years old and when she was put to sleep, Dr. Pasco, even though he himself was suffering from cancer, took time to write to us. (He passed away in 2009.)
Dr. Chapman is also awesome. So good with my new dog, Minnie, who's my first ever rescue dog. (Bitty we got from some people who had a box of mix-breed puppies that were "free to a good home." Audrey was a gift from my cousin Eddie.) Minnie is a former puppy mill breeder dog and has had to have a lot done. Including having a large area of infected flesh removed. She's always incredibly nervous because of the smell of other dogs. (She likes other dogs, but I think the smells remind her of the puppy mill. She also gets afraid in places like PetsMart and PetCo.) He's never impatient with her and does his best to keep her calm.
The rest of the staff is great too. I've even seen them stop what they're doing to treat wild birds that are injured that people walking by bring in. -

All Creatures Care Cottage totally lives up to their name. They see all pets from domestic to exotic. Great Plus for us exotic owners!
So it was that time of year which I needed to take my FuzzButt into the Vet for his annual Distemper Shot. We had been here previously for a general physical and a Fecal Parasite Exam, which came out clean. The staff are all very pleasant and down to earth. The building is super cool because it IS like a cottage with lots of memorabilia on the walls. The Vet Dr. Chapman was super awesome, totally holding my little guy and playing with him to get to know him better.
Since then I've been to another Vet that specializes in Ferrets, but it made more sense to come back here for the distemper shot. They are just so convenient to get to, and totally very affordable; quick and friendly. They also had no problem reprinting my visit history when I requested.
I wish they were 24/7 or had a hospital onsite, which would be the icing on the cake. But regardless overall, great service, affordable prices, and they welcome "All Creatures"... ++ -
Review from Kay D.
It's surprisingly difficult to find a hospital that treats "exotic" pets like guinea pigs, but this one was suggested by a few of the other dog/cat only animal hospitals in the area that I had called. This place is particularly cute because it actually is a cottage as the name would suggest.
One of my guinea pigs, Churro, had had a cancerous tumor removed about a year before at Long Beach Animal Hospital (http://www.yelp.com/bi...), and now all of sudden she was rapidly losing weight. One day she stopped eating and there was blood in her urine. I brought her in here because I didn't feel like making the trip all the way to Long Beach, and they were able to accommodate me on such short notice. The staff was very helpful, considerate, and friendly even though my little pig was not looking so good and it seemed obvious what was going to have to happen. Dr. De La Torre was very professional during her not-so-good prognosis, and understanding when we collectively made the decision to have her put down. The prices for this process were much more reasonable than other places when I've been in the same situation.
I'm sad that I am now short a pig, but I am glad that she is no longer suffering. I really liked Dr. De La Torre; she informed me that she even used to breed guinea pigs herself. I will definitely be back if my other guinea pig needs any medical attention. -

This place is AMAZING, so kind and super helpful!!!
I came down from LA to have my sick hamster checked out. which when i had originally called the pet store where i had gotten her and told them what was going on with her they told me to come trade her in and that she would have to be put down. Well come to find out my little one just had a cold. Vet Dr. Audra De La Torre knew exactly what was going on and what to do for her. Answered all my questions and concerns and was very extremely nice.
The front desk girl was also super polite and helpful. ( which come on we all know that doesnt happen very often)
They are very reasonable. I live in West Hollywood and there is no good vets up here nor one that is that kind and caring. They care more about your pet then over charging people.
I wish i lived closer to them so i could take all my pets there. five stars all the way and even more. i was very happy and pleased when i left. it was a good feeling knowing there is still great vets out there because trust me it hard to find one. I have never written a review on here before but when i left there last night i just had to give my rating to them. -

I don't have a lot of experience with vets but I really liked this place! They got me a prompt appointment and were very professional! I liked the non-clinical feel to it, it was a very cozy environment :)
Dr. De La Torre was very patient when my nippy puppy pooped on the floor and tried to bite her, and had a lot of good suggestions for his separation anxiety and his weird eating habits.
Nicole suggested this great herbal stuff to help him calm down too, and it's working so far! She was also really quick with his rabies shot and my dog barely seemed to notice the "Pokers"

This is the best exotic vet in the area. The staff are very kind and you wont find a more caring vet. They helped me with several of my small animals and most recently my mouse. I recommend this vet office to all my friends and the people I meet at my work since I work for Petsmart. They are absolutely amazing.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed this ACCC yet, how appropriate that it becomes my 50th review.
Florance C. nailed it when she described the doctors as having great bedside manner. Such description also extends to their staff. When Marley my fat puggy first came there, he was on a first name basis known as "meatball". As a puppy, Marley loveddd going there even when he was getting shots (except the Microchip, ouch!). They are extremely gentle and personable there. Also, anytime I have requests for paperwork or chart information for insurance purposes, they are so prompt about it!
Now, Marley (now known as "Turkey") since he's a big boy now, they still very much welcome him with open arms. I remember he excreted what looked like a tapeworm that was pretty much stuck. We went there on an emergency appointment, and it turns out what was stuck was paper that he somehow got and ate. They quickly took care of it, laughed, and said the appointment was on them and not to worry about charges. I can't tell you how many times (as a paranoid pug parent) we've had false alarms, and they've waived the fees. They're awesome like that.
The only thing is...pugs do have special needs so when it comes to special procedures, we go down the street to Airport Animal Hospital in CM off of Bristol. Definitely no offense to ACCC, we just want to exercise extra caution if we're doing any invasive type procedures.Listed in: Doggie heavens

This was our regular vet, up until our bird dying incident. We still bring the bunnies here, but the dog goes to Yorba Regional.
Both doctors here, Dr. Chapman and Dr. Pasco, have a really great bedside manner. They seem to have extensive experience with all species of animals. Indeed, if you google their names, you'll find that they treat everything from alligators to pet pigs. Yeeeeah.
The cottage is essentially a cottage. If you are looking for the cold sterility of a hospital, you may find this place off-putting. I got used to it after a while. There's all sorts of animal knick-knacks everywhere! There are often birds (probably boarders) in the waiting room.
They carry Science Diet and I believe Eukenuba. There's also Roudybush for your avian friends.
They didn't catch what was wrong with my bird in time (whereas the animal hospital figured it out the first day) but that was somewhat of a fluke, I suppose. They really have provided great care for my three rabbits.
They also offer walk-in service here, but it's more of a wait because there are only 2 vets. That said, there's a bit of wait even if you have an appointment too. -

Ugh...
What can I say? nothing compares to my pervious vet... but anyway
The Vet was good with my cat, he thourougly examined her. He was very gentle... but then had me wait 10 minutes for a vet tech to come review the outstanding bill! Please, charging me for a disposal fee? and a first vet office visit??
Then the tech stuck some hard stick in my cats mouth to give her a pill! I told her that I can stick it in with my hand but she instead used this stick which seemed to hurt my cat! -

I had taken a few pets here over the years, but the last time I had to take one in for something major, this was several years ago, but, here's what happened:
I had a lab, a beautiful lab. He was about 9 years old.
He had something on his foot, which looked like a tumor of some kind, and he'd knock it while playing, running, etc, and it would bleed like crazy. Anyway, we took him to ACCC and they look at it, x-rayed it, and said they would "treat it like a wound" until the x-rays came back. When we picked up the doggie the next day, they were charging us for two days of boarding, even though he'd been there exactly 24 hours.
We called again the next day and they still had no info on the x-rays. We went down to the clinic and asked for the x-rays, they could not produce them. We paid about 700.00 for his whole visit, boarding, and tests, etc. No "tech" ever reviewed the x-rays, in other words, they were pointless without someone analyzing them.
We took him to another clinic after he'd had a seizure, shortly after the ACCC visits, they looked at his foot and told us they wanted to take x-rays of his back, because when THEY examined him, they found something disturbing about the sensitivity he was developing there.
The x-rays revealed that the dog had cancer, not only on his foot, but all throughout his body, they suggested immediate euthanasia, as they said he was in a lot of pain. So we went to the vet with a live dog and came back with a dead one. I guess "that's the way it goes" sometimes, but I'll never go back to ACCC.
Pasco was the doctor who "treated" my beautiful, sweet dog. -

I love this place and so did my baby. The first time I took my rabbit there was when she was sick as a bunny. She wasn't eating and I got worried.
I took my baby to this place and the doctors were so nice. They were patient and took the time to talk to me about her symptoms and what could be wrong with her.
I kept here there for a day and the next day, the doctor was able to perscribe her medicine. She got better after a couple doses of medicine a week later and was her normal pellet-eating self!
After that, I started to take her in once in a couple months for a check up! =) -

I was glad that I found a vet who not only accepts exotic animals, but is actually competent in treating them. I have two fancy rats and they appeared to be developing a respiratory infection. At the time, I didn't have much money and they allowed me to bring one of them and gave me enough medicine for them both, so I was only charged one exam fee. The veterinarian was very helpful and polite. She clearly was informed about rats and their respiratory issues. I did not feel that they overcharged for their services or medication. The staff was very courteous and patient as my rat tore out of her cardboard travel carrier, they gave me a temporary cage to keep her in and sent me off with a new carrier. I really appreciate the help the gave me.

I have been bringing my dog here for over three years and have had nothing but happy visits. Recently, I took my dog in for shots and he had an allergic reaction to the shot so he was in pain and yelped if I even touched him. I called the next morning and they suggested I bring him in. First I asked if there was anything they can do because as a pet owner there is nothing worse than bringing your dog in to hear there is nothing to do and then have a bill to pay. They got me in within an hour of when I called. Roscoe (my dog saw Dr. Audra De La Torra. She was awesome and soo sweet to Roscoe. She didn't make him stand on the cold metal table to inspect him. She suggested I give him some medicine to take down the swelling and she found me a sample and to top it off didn't charge me for the visit. It was not their fault he had a reaction to the medicine yet they were so nice and generous. Even when I do go for my dogs check ups their fees are very reasonable. I got his shots for a little over $30,. I spend more buying treats at petco. If you have any kind of pet I would highly suggest taking them to All Creatures Care Cottage.

I have to say, of the three vet's I've been to with our new cat, All Creatures was the BEST. I was super stoked on Dr. De La Torre and she was very awesome and sweet to my cat and the rest of the staff was really great as well. I was really surprised when I got a call the day after my first visit just to check in on the cat! I was even more surprised when two days later I received a personal Facebook message and friend request from! I've most definitely made the decision to have All Creatures as our primary vet!!

The doctors are good but the front office staff is a little sketchy. One of the girls in the front needs to go. She was a little rude to us and then an older couple made a comment about her disappointing admitted.

Beware! Bait & switch operation!
Removing a mammary tumor from a female rat (50% of female rats get them, and they're almost always benign) is an extremely common procedure that generally goes for $100 to $200, depending on the city where you get it done. This vet's office stated on the phone that they charge around $200 to do this (Orange County's expensive, oh well), but when I went in they gave me an estimate for $450! Even without the biopsy, the new cost would be about $350.
Note that this was not a special case - the rat is in perfect health, and the tumor is not connected to any organ. They just wanted around twice the amount quoted on the phone, with no justification whatsoever.
I naturally refused. Thanks for wasting my entire morning, All Creatures!
These guys obviously have a business model that is designed to take advantage of pet owners with more money than sense. Don't let these clowns take advantage of you. Pick an honest vet! -
