New owner and major changes in their operation since I was last here.

They now have a retail store in a separate part of the warehouse.  The selection is OK, average for the SCV, but smaller than my favorite places in LA.  Prices were average, a sale they had on all wines made the prices rather good.  They carry some standards and some interesting finds as well.

The wine bar area is very intimate, with the lights dimmed.  There was even live music setup.  I chatted with the owner, and tried a couple of interesting wines he had open.  They offer cooking classes and credentialed wine classes too.  My only gripe with the wine bar, change your glassware to something a little classier.  Other than that, I like what I see here.

It is good to see a great wine place may be springing up here in the SCV.

Went to All Corked Up for apps/drinks last Saturday night.  Sat down in a corner table near the band. They were nice to listen to, not too loud, I could still have a conversation with my husband and enjoy the music.

The service on the other hand - horrible.  Our server was borderline brain dead. I asked for an iced tea, which is listed on the menu (I was thirsty, needed caffeine and we were still deciding which bottle of wine we were going to purchase) She said in this pitiful voice "oooh we serve wine, I don't think we have tea" I then pointed to the menu and said if you don't have what the tea listed on the menu then a bottle of water will be fantastic - she just stood there expressionless and motionless for an awkward 10 seconds until I said "why don't you go check and we'll decide on the wine." This odd/bad service continued to the end - at one point a nice and attentive gentleman stopped by, on his game.  I felt like getting up and moving to wherever he was.

The wine was delicious (5 stars) the food was about 1 star. My husband had a chicken Caesar salad, the chicken was obviously the Hormel bagged sliced chicken they sell in the packaged meat section near the hotdogs.  Please put some more effort into your food - it's disappointing to drink a nice bottle of wine and not have decent accompaniments.  The cheese plate was laughable.

My gripe is that so many places like this in the SCV - do things with such lack of attention to detail and feel we as consumers/residents will take it for what it is because there are no other places to go that don't command a 30 minute drive.  I expect this sort of complacency from the 50+ chain restaurants in the area but as a standalone business with a stake in the community please do yourself and do us a favor and step up your game.

Been coming to All Corked Up since they opened and they have gone through some changes.  I have taken classes there (which the staff should do!) and had a locker.  My main gripe is the lack of knowledge from the staff.  This is a wine bar, they should know how to pour wine - they should know what glass to serve the wine in, this is WINE 101.  And it's what they do.  The last straw was having the staff get annoyed when I asked for a Burgundy glass and the attitude was that I was annoying them.

They have the different glasses, they must be there for a reason...I can't be the only one who wants to enjoy my wine in the proper glass.

All in all I have enjoyed myself there but I feel like I've outgrown it, or rather with all the turnover in staff it's lost it's allure.   If they are touting WINE - EDUCATION - CLASSES etc...they need to know the basics and perhaps a bit more.

Before I came to the SCV, I searched "wine bar Santa Clarita." I admit to not even knowing when Santa Clarita was located six months ago. All Corked Up was the first thing of interest that I came across as Yahoo searched a place in this area that would be a reasonable substitute for the wine bar I was leaving behind in La Quinta. When I viewed the web page I was immediately encouraged by what I saw on their page. On my first day in town I put their address in my GPS and eagerly awaited my first glass of wine. As I followed the instructions that my sarcastic voiced GPS was giving me, I was convinced the freaking thing was broken. I found myself in some kind of warehouse district; not a place one might expect to fine a nice wine bar.

Upon entering I was greeted my a very nice woman named Jennifer. I explained that I was new in town and was offered a tour of the premises, inclusive of the large lockers in the back. I was blown away by the displays and wine people who held these lockers showcased. I later found out about the wine club and joined that night. On my second visit I rented a library locker and filled the thing up with wine. This was my new home away from home!

I met all of the regulars, the owners and befriended most of the staff. This is the most comfortable friendly place in the SCV. The food is some of the best around and the wine selection is excellent. If you want a classy place in this vast culinary wasteland of SCV, this is your place.

I am back in the desert again and will miss this place very much. I never really got to say goodbye, so if you stop in, say hello for me. I give my highest rating for food, wine and great friends. ACU is place is the best around!

In looking for an excuse to check out All Corked Up (ACU) for a tasting, I found that they had a "Member's Only" one planned for their wine club this past Sunday.  I asked if they'd let me be a "fly on their wine vat wall" and they agreed.

I was able to get one of the few remaining parking spaces near the entrance.  I was able to skirt past the growing line of wineglass toting members.  I was even able to find a seat to perch on.  This was a Sunday afternoon...was there a lack of sports on TV or something?

No.  Once a month ACU wine club members bring in last month's wine box in exchange for a token; that in turn, was exchanged for a wine glass.  What should then have been two bottles sampled, to represent the two bottles members received every month, instead were 10 wines with 2-3 more added in.

The wine pours were expertly maneuvered by Victor Herstein, wine buyer for ACU, while a full staff, managed by Jennifer Russell, kept member's happy with everything from pour out buckets and filled water glasses to appetizers and full meals.

"People come here because we make them feel special," Jennifer explained. "It's very social, they meet friends and then pick up their wine."

I sat with Patrick and Priscilla Lundgren that were thrilled that their "Value" membership garnered them 2 bottles of wine every month and access to membership privileges such as no corkage fees, a large selection instead of a restaurant's wine list, tastings on the last Sunday of every month and bottles for less than $10 each that made them "inclined to come here for it all: dinner and wine."

While traversing the crowds, and yes within and hour of the tasting both from rooms had filled up nicely, I shifted my attention to another couple, one that had joined the Premium Club.

Rich Freeman had been a member since ACU opened and now traveled from Encino for the wine, company and dinner menu.  "I just like the atmosphere better here than in the valley wine bars," Rich started.  "I'm a member of the whole package, not just a bottle.  And when you come back again you will see me perform a magic show here later this month."

90% of the wines being poured were less than $20 and included 2006 Donati Pinot Blanc, 2006 Saddle Rock Chardonnay, 2006 Liberty School Chardonnay, 2008 Cooralook Pinot Noir, 2005 Benziger Merlot (**** out of *****EB), 2006 Ravenswood Vintners Zinfandel (***EB), 2005 Genesis Merlot, 2005 Stonecape Cabernet Sauvignon, 2006 Morellino Di Scansano Sangiovese (****EB), 2006 Domaine De Nalys Chateauneuf-Du-Pape (****EB) and a 2003 Chateau Coutelin-Merville Bordeaux (****EMB - yes my husband rated this one.)

My closing thoughts, based on Facebook reviews and being

All Corked Up is really pretty inside and very relaxing. Don't let the location spoil it for you; once you walk in, you forget you're in an industrial area. The open patio is also really nice - the cigar smoke goes right into the air, and non-smokers only get a little whiff of it.
The staff needs a lot of work - they just don't know their wines. I can understand going into a full service restaurant and maybe the waiter hasn't tried all the wines the restaurant serves. But this is a wine bar - the servers should at least know the difference between the wines on the night's wine list! I don't expect any of the servers to be able to wow with me their bottle selection, but have some knowledge on the wines by the glass.
I gave two stars because, like a hotel bar, it's a nice place to have a glass of wine, but that's about it.

Great wine bar, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.  There is live music on Fridays and Saturdays, a patio in the back, a quiet section away from the music, a huge warehouse/store in the back and cool storage section where you can rent a locker to keep all your wine.
The appetizers a delicious, I recommend the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp.  Great selection of wine, as always I must recommend Leona Valley Winery's Petite Verdot and Leona Valley Winery's Chardonnay.

Hands down the best wine bar experience in Santa Clarita.  They've got the best selection by the glass, and by the bottle.  And they even have the huge wine shop in the back.

Anyone complaining about the selection, hasn't visited the separate wine shop on the other side of the wine storage warehouse.

P.S. - The location is bizarre, however.   It's the last place I'd ever expect to find a wine bar --  I thought I was lost the first time I visited.

After a hard week of work, me and the girlies came here by luck of the draw picking which wine place in Valencia/Santa Clarita having the cutest name.  We saw their Wednesday special was a $20 wine tasting and we had asked which wines were featured.  They pointed to a table to the side which had at least 15-20 bottles.  So we thought that we would be able to try all.  Instead, the choices were limited to roughly 8 -10 and the sample sizes were less than an ounce.  Tiny samples and it would have been more feasible if we just shared a bottle of wine we enjoyed.  The wine tasting really didn't offer much into the details of the wine and, aside from our waitress who was really friendly, everything else was lackluster

Te place has gone downhill with the new ownership. Food portions and quality has gone down, wine selection has gone down. They used to take 10 bucks of your wine if you were a member, not anymore. The music is still good though. The location is very industrial but once you're inside, you could be anywhere in wine country.
If you've never been there, I guess you could go on a friday or saturday night, buy a bottle of wine and enjoy the music. But dine somewhere else first and don't expect a great selection of wine.

    Update 2/24/12

The place has been closed for quite a while now and it looks like it will be re-opening soon under new management (Thank GOD!).
    Let's hope for the best.

the best retail selection and prices for fine wines in Santa Clarita, bar none - everything from $10 bottles to Ch d'Yquem, Caymus SS and all the stuff in between...

it's a wine bar / offsite storage / retailer - the wine bar is not really my scene with the music and the crowd, i prefer to go on a weekend afternoon or after work during the week, spread out on the bar and enjoy a nice glass or two with some finger foods while its a little more quiet.  some my enjoy it as a nightspot, but not for me.  they're limited to what they can do in the kitchen and the staff has changed over quite a bit lately, but you can't fault their selection of wines at all.  also have some premium beers by the bottle for you non wine drinkers, and the attached retail warehouse sells some limited selections of high end liquor as well.

if you havent been before i recommend going and checking it out.  and if you're looking for a bottle or two of wine to buy, dont go to Bev Mo, Whole Foods or Cost Plus and give this place a try.  i think you will be pleasantly surprised.

FYI - the bulk of their selections are in the adjacent retail / warehouse space, the winebar only carries a limited inventory.

it's a little hard to find the first time so look for the sign!

I was so excited to come and try this place but it just didn't do it for me.  After a long work week, we decided to reward ourselves by doing some wine tasting.  We did the wine tasting for about $20 a person, which appealed to us because it was about 10 different wines, but these were the smallest sample sizes i've ever had!  I think all 10 samples wouldn't even measure up to a glass.  No one really explained the different wines, except that it was ______ from _____.

This is our favorite wine spot in Santa Clarita. The menu is great, the atmosphere is gorgeous, and the wine is excellent. Whether you just want to pick up a bottle of wine to take home, taste something new, eat dinner, or store wine for a year, this place is the best.

You would never expect to find a stellar wine bar in this god forsaken place called Santa Clarita Valley much less in an industrial warehouse park behind Wal-Mart.

All Corked Up is an amazing place for wine lovers. It's split into several sections: the wine store where everyone knows the great buys; the cellar where you can rent your own temperature and humidity controlled wine cage, and the wine bar.
The wine bar is very cozy and done in a faux-Tuscan style. There are plenty of tables and a long bar to sample their by-the-glass selections as well as full bottles.
The staff is very knowledgeable about wines and are very patient with newbies and are always willing to teach you more than you think you know about vino.
In the back room there's a private storage and a big-screen if you want to watch the game while sipping on Syrah. They even have a small back patio for those who want to pair their wine with a cigar or a pipe.

On Friday and Saturday nights the place is packed with local business owners who come there to relax and mingle. Appetizers are prepared by a chef and they have few hot tapas as well as more typical cheese and crackers.
Oh, and on the weekends and some weeknights they have live music. Very cool. Check out their website for events.
For Santa Clarita this place is heaven sent.

OK,  I am not into wine really,  but this place is cool.  I went here for a friends birthday and was VERY apprehensive on the approach to the place.  It is in the back of an industrial area that leaves you wondering if you have the right spot or not.  Once inside it is nothing but class with a great crew working there.  I would definitely go back.

My husband and I along with another couple went to All Corked Up last Friday night because they had a live Blues Band playing.  Wow was I pleasantly surprised!
The band was great!! (805 south.. go to their facebook page & become a fan) The music was at a level where you could still hear the person next to you which was a NICE change compared to the local places we tend to frequent (ie.. Roast House).  They played a variety of blues/rock and put a wonderful atmosphere and feel to the place.
We ordered 2 appetizers (Bleu cheese/glazed pear and spinach dip) and 4 different meals.  We all enjoyed our selections.  The food was reasonably priced and was very good.  Good sized portions too.  We ordered NY stip steak, seabass, meatballs with mushroom brandy sauce,  and chicken panini.  There was a pretty good wine selection at every price range.  More port selections would be nice.
Our waiter was accomodating and very attentive.  The interior of the place is nicely decorated and has a cozy relaxed feel.
The reason for only 4 stars?  They have an outdoor patio where you can smoke cigars.  It was pretty chilly by 9pm or so.. and none of the outdoor heaters were working :(  We tried to turn them on ourselves but there was no propane tanks in them.  On the good side though.. our waiter reserved our inside table (the place was packed) while we went outside for a 45 minute cigar smoke.  The 4 of us and 2 other cigar smokers were outside.  Our waiter even dropped in on us outside to make sure we were doing okay.  The outdoor seating is not equipped to allow for outdoor eating.  I wish you could eat outside.  The tiny tables are just big enough to hold a wine glass and an ash tray.
Because the SCV doesn't offer much for night life, we frequent places that offer progressively worse service, overpriced food and live bands that make you want to run from the patio screaming (again.. i.e. the Roast House) and I think it's because they know we SCV-ians have no other options!  Its tough to find a place to eat some reasonably priced food,  smoke a cigar, and have some port or wine around here.  With the way our night went at All Corked Up... I am tempted to say I no longer have to put up with substandard service because I now have another choice!!  Overall it was  great time!

Overall this is a fun place to visit.  The only advise I would give them (and trust me I have several times) is to have the staff be more educated on the wines including the appropriate glass for the type of grape (yes there are different glasses for Cabernet, Pinot, Syrah, Nebbiolo etc), the region etc. For a wine establishment, the staff is not educated on wine. They cater more to the general public rather than wine aficionados. Worth a visit.
