Probably one of my most favorite thrift stores on Broadway. They had clothes that touched on all kinds of eras of women's fashion in America. Great wigs, dresses and the like. The best part for me was the cool retro sunglasses and bumper stickers this place had. Whoever owned American Vogue first has staff that was eager to point men down the street to their men's store which was not nearly as cool. Perhaps they didn't want to have a label as a 'drag queen clothing' store. If you wanted those kinds of clothes there was one of those stores up the street. But come on, what do you expect when you set up shop in a predominately gay neighborhood? Hello!
The management changed again and could really care less if men shopped in here or not. They even got men's clothes too after they separated from the men's clothing store down the street. Despite the management change it kept it's coolness and retro chic. Apparently this place has since closed and that makes me very sad! :(
