After reading some reviews, I was a little nervous to try this place. My friends and I were seeing a comedy show at Salisbury beach so we figured what the hell we'll give a shot. The atmosphere is cute, very rustic tavern hence its name. It was very clean as well. The menu is your basic bar food: steaks, chicken, seafood, burgers, wraps etc. I had the Veggie wrap which was delicious...but the star of the show was definitely the onion rings. They were cooked perfect so that when you bit into them you didnt take the whole onion and leave the batter. It was so good! My only compliant would be the waitress. While she was very nice it was as though she was on speed! Talked so fast, was basically throwing the food at us, and although she said we could take our time with the check she came over like every 5 secs to check to see if we were ready to pay. The place isnt even that big and by the looks of it she was only serving like 3 tables so I dont know what she was rushing for? Anyways I would give this place a shot and definitely try the onion rings!!

My Wife and I tried the restaurant after purchasing a groupon.
Sorry bad choice
advertise large portions well the haddock was very dry like old and only 8 oz
and the prime rib was 20 0z but 10 was fat
Waitress never came to see how the food was never asked if we would like
refills on our ice tea AND I'M SORRY PARKING LOT AND ATMOSPHERE DO NOT JUSTIFY PRICES.
Dinner rolls were old This place awfull excuse for a restaurant
Will not go there again if they give away the food -

I ate here once so the review gets five stars. I definitely plan to return, and if the service and food quality remains the same, the stars will remain.
The All American Tavern is a hole in the wall in the middle of commercial Route 1, but it's homey. The restaurant, with an indoor appearance similar to a scaled-down Applebee's, has about a dozen square tables in a dining section, and the bar has chairs for about 15 with a few adjacent tables in the same area.
I came here for lunch on a raw winter's day and ordered a cup of corn chowder and a ceasar salad. The salad was nothing special, but the chowder was delicious and that alone deserves the stars. The kitchen is allegedly known for its clams and steak, which I'll try the next time around.
Then there is the issue with the hot bartender. She had a personality to compete with Cheers' Sam Malone. I didn't catch her name, but she was perky and gabbed it up with the patronage (I could tell they were regulars) and even scratched some lottery tickets on the side. Fun staff usually equals fun place. And if it's a fun place, that's star quality. -

Came here last year & it was good. This year the prices have increased dramatically. They've priced themselves out of the family friendly range. Would stop in for Keno & a drink but that's about it. The service is pretty good as well.

This used to be a place where you could go for a drink and some inexpensive lunch after a day on the beach. I came here today, with my grandparents, and my poor grandmother only wanted some delicious fall off the bone ribs. The ones she got were only dry, but served cold. When she complained the waitress took "a few dollars" off a 20$ half rack of ribs. The manager said "this is the way we serve them". It was rude, and inappropriate. I'll never go back.

This was once a 5 star restaurant in our eyes but recently they've been downgraded to a 3 star. We were recommended by friends to stop by as the owner's family used to run a seafood restaurant in Haverhill ... the only place my husband would order fried haddock. When we first started going, the seafood was not as pricy and it was always HOT, HOT, HOT out of the fryer. The seafood is still fresh and plentiful but much more pricey now and the last few times we've gone, our meals were luke-warm. We're not ones to complain so we just ate our meals. They recently were featured in an http://Amazon.com "groupon-like" program so we bought a few and visited yesterday ... our conclusion, still the same. Plenitful but luke-warm. We'll still stop in when we're in the area but they're no longer on the top of our list.

Ok Food, fairly pricey for the atmosphere. Service was poor. While friendly. The server got numerous things wrong, from iced coffee instead of tea, serving us another tables food to getting one of the meals completely wrong (fish sandwich instead of fish and chips$
