One of the best multi-purpose buildings in St. Louis. This is a fun place to play and a fun place to play sports.
I'm not a fan of having a bar mixed in, but I understand you have to make money to keep the place open.
Love the balcony seating! -

What in the world... What IS this place?? I went here to watch my first Roller Derby event last weekend. First of all, the parking lot CANNOT handle large events. Yes, I was able to park at a conveniently located nearby business and it WASNT that big of a pain- but just the fact that their parking lot was so small- made me cringe in confusion.
So... good points - the security people seemed to be on top of things. Though those might've been Roller Derby security, I don't know. And there were many places to get a drink.
Onto the bad points... the bathrooms were just stupid. I know that doesn't sound very intelligent for me to say that. But 3 stalls: 1 was good, 1 had NO door, 1 had a door that wouldn't stay shut. The dryer for your hands near the sink barely trickled out the air... I gave up and used my jeans.
The eating area upstairs with concessions: they had some cheap food- that's cool, but the area itself felt dirty... it was like being at a dive bar but all the lights were on...
And now for the final reason I disliked this place... no decent seats whatsoever. Perhaps on other events they have seating, but at this packed out double-header Roller Derby event, they had none. There were people sitting IN the rink on the floors on both ends (on chairs and on the ground) - people lined around the rink sitting on the ground... and everyone else crowded the plexiglass windows attempting to see what was going on.
How can you have a packed out event and not have decent seating?? I'm still in shock. -

This is a really good all-purpose location for events. Especially events with anything to do with skates (inline or quad).
It's pretty straightforward here. They host sporting events, offer some concessions and a good time was had by all.
However, I do have to comment that I think every seat in the house is a good one. Especially from the balcony level, where you can pick up a snack or a beer while watching the show downstairs.
There's also a bar/club upstairs that is pretty decent. It doesn't have the personality of other area clubs, but they're new and establishing their own niche. -

I went here the other night for my first adventure into the world of Roller Derby.
There's a lot to learn about Roller Derby, and I'd advise you do some reading up before you go to a game. It's a little complicated (at least more so that I thought ahead of time). Beforehand, I figured that it was just a bunch of chicks skating around in circles, bashing each other out of the way. In fact, there are lots of strategies, specific penalties, and other scoring methods which make the game pretty interesting.
Plus, my friend is one of the referees for the Archway Rivals games, which is fun to watch.
I'm taking off one star because the night we went to the All American Sports Mall, the air-conditioner had broken and it was about 115 degrees inside the place. I'm hoping that by the time I go back to see another game it is fixed-- otherwise I'll have to drink a lot of PBR's to forget about the searing heat.
Also, don't forget to get cash ahead of time. They don't take credit cards, and their ATM has got a whopper of a fee.
