SHOUT-OUT!! Look no further to get your glasses repaired. I did it by mail-in from Hawai'i and everything worked seamlessly as if I was there. I USPS Priority mailed my bifocals on April 6 and they got them on April 9. They soldered one of the sidearm's temple hinge and it's as good as new if not better. I was wearing my glasses by April 13! Customer service is excellent!! Here's the link to the mail-in service: http://www.americaneye...
You can't go wrong. Unbeatable price, service and delivery!!

Silly me, I sat on my designer sunglasses. I went to my optometrist to have her fix it, but the sunglasses were really bent out of shape, so she referred me to All American Eyeglass Repair. They do have parking lot, which is a plus. I forgot the gentleman's name, but he was really nice. There were two people ahead of me. Total wait time was 15min. Total cost was, wait it was FREE =). I was surprised, I thought he was going to charge me something, at least for his time. My sunglasses are no longer crooked. Thanks sir!

My Plastic designer frames were so cute, but the bridge of my nose wasn't tall enough to make wearing them ideal. So for $30, this place installed nose pads and the little arm thingies that held them.
    I'm a happy camper.

These guys are the best!  My wife had been there a number of times to get our daughter's glasses repaired.  So I had a pair of rimless glasses that I knocked off a shelf onto a tile floor...I was sure the drop destroyed them since the temple seemed to break off.  I took them to an optometrist, and he informed me they couldn't be fixed.  Then I went to these guys, and Jesse (I think), snapped them back together, informed me they weren't broken, and said thanks for coming in..."No charge!"  I'll always return to this little shop.  These guys are honest, fair, knowledgable, and very reasonably priced!  Check 'em out!

I've had my glasses for quite some time and the paint had started to peel and rub off in various locations.  I dropped them off at AAER and within a few days, my glasses were as good as new.  The technician repainted my glasses mixing colors to match the Dark Burgandy frame.  No more embarassing moments with tattered glasses.  Thanks All American Eyeglass Repair.

I can see! I can see! Lawdy, I can SEE again!

I had two pairs of identical glasses. I broke one pair and lost the part a few years ago.

Meanwhile, the other pair had gotten VERY scratched up, and it was getting so that I was taking them OFF to SEE. Which sort of defeats the purpose.

So I went in and met Rockstar Jesse, who switched the lens and transferred the needed part to the old pair, which had cool purplish frames and were my favorite anyway.

He did the job in about 3 minutes and charged me.....TWO DOLLARS! What?????? If there had been a tip jar, I would have thrown in a TWENTY. Do you know what new glasses cost?

Jesse also advised me to get GLASS lenses next time, as I work outdoors and dust, etc. wreaks havoc on the plastic ones. I have been wearing glasses for more than 40 years and NO ONE HAD EVER TOLD ME THAT!!

these guys rock! less than a week before I was due to induce my second child - my husband stepped on my glasses in the middle of the night and broke them right on the nose piece. I was totally bummed - I need them for labor and I wanted to see during the birth process..I had used my eye benefits for the year and took my glasses to my eye doc to see what we could do..replacing would be upwards of $300. Not an expense I had budgeted for, the nice gal at my doc's suggested we check this place out. We took my glasses there and they had them fixed (almost better than new) thankfully they had broken on a weld spot so he just re-welded them. Total cost $35 and time to fix .. 45 min. This place saved me and they seem to really care about what they do. Totally recommend you try here before you replace your glasses!

I came here a couple of months ago to get my glasses repaired because I accidentally stepped on them.  Upon arrival at this place, I was immediately helped. I really appreciate the honest service because I was asked first if i wanted to fixed everything before any work was done.  Overall, I recommend this place for eyeglass repair.

I had an expensive Cartier glasses that needed repair. one of the legs screw broke in two pieces with one of them being stuck inside the hole. it didnt seem like too much of fixing but without the proper tools this was simply not doable by myself.
these folks did the PERFECT job. it really seems flawless,  100% satisfaction, and it only cost me 25 bucks. they ended up drilling a hole to take the broken screw out and replaced it. I was really worried that they might break it in the process, but came out good as new. THANK YOU!

Great! save money and save glasses that you love. Everyone thrifty or vintage-y should know about this place.

I took in 2 pairs--one only needed a screw (it was a vintage pair that needed a non standard size) and they did that one for free while I waited. So glad my local optometrist turned me on to them.

It is a bit hard to locate the shop, since it is tucked away between other businesses. There is a parking lot, so you don't have to park on the street. The shop is a bit sparse in decoration. But the service guy definitely knows what he is talking about.
I took my Chanel sunglasses in for a repair. The right hinge broke due to rough usage. He informed me that I would need a laser welding and it costs $45. That is definitely cheaper than the quotes Sunglasses Hut and other places gave me. He told me it would take 3 days for the repair. I went back after 3 days. The hinge was as good as new. It is really hard to notice any repair at all.
I would definitely recommend this place to all my friends.

I am so happy I found this place.  I re-used my Calvin Klein frames and it's about 2-yrs. old.  It broke at the bridge (titanium) and I brought it back to Costco who quickly told me their 90-day warranty lapsed.  I didn't want to look for another frame there so I looked on the web to find the same frame to slip in the plastic lense less than 4-mos. old.  Most of them wanted to charge me $200+.  Costco referred me to a place on Mission Street in SF but they won't solder "titantium" (too difficult).  So mailed in the fragmented frames (screw came loose too) and lense to All American Eyeglass Repair on Monday, and got them back on Thursday of same week for $40 ($5+ shipping was included).  I just need to be careful for a few months before my VSP benefits kick in in August for new glasses.  Love, love, love the super fast repair time.  As he was putting my glasses into his priority mail box to return to me, the other side broke.  He quickly soldered that as well without charge.  I will forever recommend this place to all my family and friends.  You're the best!

A few years ago, I purchased some "frameless" eyeglasses from an (evil) eyewear shop which shall not be named.  Let's call the business Voldemort.  I paid about $300 for the eyeglasses (because frameless frames are for some reasion very expensive).  I took the eyeglasses home and in less than a week, one of the stems was loose.  Upon a closer inspection, I realized that a little piece was missing; it had probably fallen off in the week since I'd had the glasses.  There was a screw and there was a bolt holding the screw to the glasses and where the other screws had a little cap holding on the bolt holding on the screw to the glasses, this loose stem was missing its cap, which enabled the bolt to come loose, which caused the stem to wiggle.

I took the eyeglasses back to Voldemort and explained the problem.  Needless to say, Voldemort was unhelpful (unhelpful being the nature of Voldemort).  I was told that the part I needed was specialized, that they didn't have the part in stock, and that they were unwilling to send it back to the manufacturer of the frames (who presumably had the part) to get it fixed.  I was out of luck.  I was angry.  As far as I was concerned, I had purchased these glasses and hadn't used them in any untoward way and they had come apart.  I huffed and I puffed, but I was unable to blow their house down or get any further help for this problem.

For years, every time I have reached for this pair of glasses (fortunately I wear contact lenses primarily), I have had to tighten that bolt with my fingernails.  I've asked around and different people have made different suggestions: krazy glue being foremost among them.  But, I was hesitant to apply krazy glue to my glasses.

At some point within the last month or two, I fell asleep with these glasses on (or nearby on my pillow) and woke up with them terrifically mangled.  The frames were bent. Everything that was previously loose seemed looser.  I tried to unbend the frames, but even with my  needle-nosed pliers, there didn't seem to be a way to get the frames to go back to being the right shape without causing damage to the lenses.  I was stuck.  I was bummed out.

I thought, well, maybe it's time for me to get myself a new pair of glasses.  I didn't really have the money for that, and it was clear that my prescription hadn't changed much in the intervening time.  It was really just that my glasses were too bent out of shape to be useful.  Voldemort cast a spell (in the form of a giant sign that read "designer frames 50% off and a second pair free") that led me into the shop again (as if I hadn't learned my lesson the first time) and I wandered around looking at the frames.  I asked the unhelpful woman behind the counter (Voldemort's minion?) if they do eyeglass repair.  I did not recount the original story of my where the mangled glasses came from.  She said that she'd have to see the eyeglasses, and that they do very simple repairs in the shop, that they send out for more complicated repairs, but that, oftentimes, it costs more to repair eyeglasses than to simply buy another pair.  I left the store (not purchasing another pair of glasses), but thinking that what she said about eyeglass repair must be true.

But the notion of eyeglass repair stuck with me and I did a Google search and I found All American Eyeglass Repair (and all of these Yelp reviews).  On the All American Eyeglass Repair website, it indicated that most repairs cost under $50.  Heartened and hopeful, I took my desperate little eyeglasses in their little black coffin (otherwise known as their case) to Hayward to see what fate awaited them.

Let's call the helpful individual who magicked my glasses back to life Dumbledore.  His powers of magic-making were profound.  He looked at my glasses and listened to my tale of woe.  He gave me an estimate.  (I held my breath.)

    "Two Dollars."

Apoplectic, I said, "TWO DOLLARS?!?!" I couldn't even imagine that I could have possibly heard that right.

"Yes. Two Dollars."  He said he doesn't charge for straightening a stem; the only cost would be for the parts.  $1 for a new screw and $1 for a new bolt (or cap or whatever).

(More expensive than replacing them my a%$!)

In half-an-hour, he handed me my glasses and they looked like new.  Everything was tight and straight and perfect.  The glasses sat snug on my face the way they were meant to be.  I didn't even have to pull out a credit card.  There wasn't even a tip jar.

He gave me a very educational lecture on the dangers of applying krazy glue to my eyeglasses - apparently my lenses are made of some sort of polycarbonate (is that the correct word?) - such that even the tiniest drop of krazy glue, should it land on the lenses, themselves, would eat through the lenses and cause them to crack!  Yipes!  It's a good thing I hadn't done that.

Thankfully, because of All American Eyeglass Repair, my story had a happy ending.

    If only I'd known about sooner . . .

The arm of my son's glasses broke off and I thought I needed to get replacement frames.  Upon taking his glasses to the optical sales counter at the mall, the gal told me that the frames were reapairable and referred me to All American Eyeglass Repair.

"Repair" rather than replacement of frames was such a relief.  The following week I went to the repair shop during my lunch hour and was able to pick up my son's glasses at the end of my work day.  Service was awesome and work performed was exceptional.  I paid $40 bucks for a new arm.  This was worth it because I did not have to buy new frames and my little man can see again!  = )

This is the first time Yelp has failed me.

I had to double check to make sure this was the place I went to.  It was.

On a Saturday afternoon it took this place 45 minutes of wasting my time while I listened to a young couple... teens?  twenties?  laugh and make fun about customers that had walked in the door at this place.

The guy who took my glasses couldn't figure out what to do with them and asked me to "sit tight" for a few minutes while he researched the situation.  I waited patiently for 45 minutes assuming they were doing something to fix my glasses.

Meanwhile other customers came in the door.  They were given the same crappy service by a girl who worked there.  Smartly they declined to have their glasses fixed by this place and swiftly walked out.  That should've been my first clue.

After 45 minutes... The guy walks out with my busted pair of glasses and says...uh, theres nothing we can do.... WTF?  Thanks for wasting my time.  I had no idea eyeglass repair was so complicated...

The best thing I can say for this small shop off 580 is that they're fast and cheap. Their repair abilities are very impressive as I brought in a mangled pair of pricy ($400) frames that sat at the bottom of a book bag and was twisted in every direction. The repair was perfect, I was very impressed until I brought in my second pair, an odd German designed set with nary a standard part in it. I had snapped off a post which needed to be soldered back onto a stem. While the job only cost me $25 and was completed in 1/2 an hour, the attention to detail just wasn't there. The paint on the pieces were supposed to a be a dull black painted in a way that one would assume the metal was black all the way through. The way the repaired part was painted was with a high gloss black paint applied with a brush (I can see the thick brush stroke). A week later, the paint is already chipping off, which makes me wonder if the surface was degreased before painting. As an artist, I'll strip off the rest of the paint and repaint it properly myself. Though I can't really, complain, $25 for eyeglass repair is a bargain.

found this place on a quick google search for eyeglass repair and to much surprise there arent many around the bay area. i dont know if it's a lost art with ppl quick to replace glasses or a skill left for only a few trained ppl.
anyhow, i took my glasses in for repair to remove the anti-reflective coating, which came out to $35. Wait was about 2 hrs and the gentleman even offered a touch up of my scratched lenses free of charge.  on a side note: using sunblock lotion to remove AR on plastic lenses is a bad idea and you end up scratching your lenses.  this supposedly works only on glass lenses.

the end result was pretty good....i could see through the lens w/out seeing this awful spot caused by the scratched antireflective coating.  they ended up painting the front face of my frames, which looked good initially but after wearing the glasses for a couple weeks, i can see parts of the paint chipping.  apparently, the paint for frames are burned in at high oven temps so not much can be expected by touching up scratched frames. anyhow, for $35 to remove the AR and a free touch up, i cant really complain.
good service from a small mom and pop shop, which we should embrace and support.  these guys are pretty knowledgeable about eyeglass as they should and were really  helpful in helping me understanding eyeglass stuff...interesting..no. helpful, yes. lol

While on vacation the bridge of my eyeglasses broke. I cobbled together a temporary repair (plastic tube) to stick the pieces together well enough to prevent blindness during my vacation and lamented having to go through the process and expense of eyeglass replacement when I got back home. I did a little research online and found All American Eyeglass Repair. They assured me they could fix the bridge and said it would cost 45 bucks--the frame cost at least a couple hundred when it was new. I jumped in my car and headed over to see if this was too good to be true. I dropped the glasses off with Debby who was a delight to deal with and she called me within a couple hours and said "all done". The fix looks like it was part of the original glasses and it is great to get my specs back so quickly. The only very small negative was finding the location which is tucked into a small building and requires a bit of searching BUT it is worth the search!

These people did a real fine job on a problem break. They couldn't match the existing stems, but came pretty close. Phone call to tell me as to what was up. Sent the glasses back to me all fixed and with a close enough match. Cost was very reasonable.. Put a couple hundred dollar pair of glasses back in action. Thanks.
