I'd like to say this place is as good as it gets...but this was my very first wax "down there". So, for now I'll have to say 4.5 stars - since I have no frame of reference for comparison.
CJ was very kind and talked me through the process and tried her best to keep me talking so that I wouldn't think about it. I'm not going to say it didn't hurt. But it was not as bad as I thought.
Interesting note: Did you know that your hair grows in 4 week phases? Each week a different set of hair is growing, so you have to refrain from other hair removal for a MONTH! Let's just say, I'm glad it's all taken care of now. -

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!!
I was in desperate need for a Brazillian. I found CJ through Yelp. I liked the fact she works for herself and not in a big salon. I figured there would be more personalized service and better rates.
Boy, was I WRONG. I called and left a voicemail asking if she had an opening on a particular day and the hours that would work best for me. She called me back within an hour. She proceeded to tell me that I can't just tell her the date and time I need because she's so busy. In fact, she let me know, at three different times in our conversation, she is the "best" in Honolulu and because she's the best and most sought after, her schedule is always booked and I would need to abide by her schedule. (I found this statement interesting since she only has 8 Yelp reviews). So much for customer service. But I really needed the job done so I scheduled an appointment. After scheduling an appointment, she gave me one final warning. I was free to cancel my appointment but if I did a no-show, she said she would NEVER service me again.
CJ's rates are on the higher end. There are many other individuals and salons who offer better rates and much, MUCH better customer service.
Needless to say, I didn't bother showing up for my appointment. Getting a Brazillian is already a scary idea...getting a Brazillian done by someone with such a poor attitude is even scarier.Comment from Carolyn J. of All About Facials & Waxing 6/1/2011

Oh, man, I'd totally forgotten about my experience here until I saw K.N.'s review come through in the recent review feed.
I went to CJ in 2008 for some waxin'. All of the reviews I could find said she was the best in town, etc., so I was ready to trade in my "eh" waxer for someone phenomenal.
Nice office, crappy parking (but that's just the area - not her fault), CJ seemed nice enough.
I told her explicitly that I didn't want my brows too thin. She nodded agreement and got to ripping out my eyebrow hairs. She gave me a mirror to see her work and - you know that pit you get in your stomach when you get bad news? - yeah, I had that. My brows were WAY too thin. I mean, I understand that these things are subjective (maybe I should bust out some recommendations in millimeters?) but the fact of the matter is that in 10+ years and 20+ people I've told this to, she's the only one who interpreted "not too thin" as "make me look like a chola gangsta chick". To her credit she was very apologetic and offered me a credit for another brow wax. I didn't want to get pushy but I thought I should be credited for the one she just botched; I wasn't keen on going back to get Mona Lisa-ed again. She disagreed and my defenses were low (30% of your force field is in your eyebrows (how long till that shows up in Groupon copy somewhere?)) so I agreed to just take a future credit that I, of course, never used.
The only other memorable thing about this visit was that she stayed in the room when I took off my drawers to get my bikini wax. That was...odd.
2 stars because my eyebrows did eventually grow back.

Established in 2002
After working in the business for 10 yrs. on the East Coast I relocated back to Hawaii in 2001. I opened All About Facials & Waxing in Feb. 2002 in Hawaii Kai. Wanting to accommodate my clients who couldn't climb two flights of stairs I moved the shop closer to town and I'm now located on the ground floor in the Kaimuki Professional Building on 12th Ave.
Meet the Business Owner: Carolyn J.
Since relocating to Hawaii in 2001 it was my passion to open and operate my own business. I opened All About Facials & Waxing in Feb. 2002 and have been proud of the reputation I have developed in the community and with my clientel. Thanks to all my wonderful satisfied clients I no longer advertise because their word of mouth keeps me busy. I love what I do and it shows with my clients.
