Review from A. B.
Jersey City, NJ
Always a dependable spot for pizza and pasta, Aljon's did an excellent job on its catering side for a New Year's Eve bash. The delivery was prompt and efficient.
Now, to the food. To paraphrase Sideways, I've learned never to expect greatness from baked ziti, and this pasta was perfectly decent if unmemorable. But the eggplant parm was top-notch and the sausage-and-peppers inspired me to go back for fourths. -

I've been coming to this pizza place since I was a little kid since it's right around the corner from my parent's house. They have a ton of pizza slice choices during lunch time including taco, chicken parm, cheesesteak, baked ziti, buffalo wing...the list goes on. DELICIOUSO! Cheesesteaks are damn good too!
If you order a pie, the crust is actually a little thicker than the individual slice options. So if you like your crust thin and crispy, like I do, make sure to order a "slice pie." Otherwise, you'll get crust that's a little more doughy and soft.
The guys that run the place and take your order are true Italians: hysterical, friendly and warm. "Hello young lady!"
I will continue going back here for the many years to come and is easily my favorite pizza shop in the area. -

Good pizza, good prices. Working in the Princeton area, it's nice to be able to frequent Aljon's. Their responsible prices and quality pizza are an excellent find. I haven't had anything but pizza here, so I cannot comment on the other menu selections.
Worth a try! -

This is a 3.5 star review.
I came here for lunch when I first arrived in Plainsboro for work. The plaza it's located at has a lot of other food options so parking is readily available. They have more than your average pizza and subs. They had pasta specials that sounded really good, but ultimately I ended up getting the pulled pork sandwich.
The sandwich was huge, well for a woman at least. It wasn't the best pulled pork I've ever had but the meat and sauce was flavorful. The fries were just okay. They have that breaded-like texture that I'm not very fond of.
The sandwich was decently priced at $7 and it's your no-frills pizza shop. I wish I had gone back to try their other items but maybe if I'm back in the area I will. Some of my co-workers enjoy going there for lunch. -

There was a fire in the strip mall not too long ago, and ever since the reopening of Aljon's, it hasn't been as crowded. Which is fine - We live 5-10 minutes away, and it literally takes only 20 minutes from the time of the phone call before the delivery guy arrives at our door.
The pizza is very good (I love the chicken & bacon ranch thin-crust), but so are the subs. My husband loves the eggplant parm (best anywhere, he says) and I prefer the meatball parm - both sub style. The pasta is waaaay too mushy, so avoid getting the dinner platters.
These guys are quick and friendly, and I highly recommend this place over any other delivery in the area. -

Even though they closed my two Aljon's restaurants in Hightstown and Cranbury, I HAD to give it a great review. I grew up eating at Aljon's, and still haven't tasted better pizza or hoagies!!!!
OMG! The memories this name brings back! I remember walking to Aljon's for lunch when I was in high school (only honor students were allowed to leave the building our freshman year.) What a treat it was to feast on those perfect slices, fries and hoagies.
I really miss this place now that I live out of state! -

The Aljon's over in West Windsor is still number 1, but this place serves up the pizza goodness as well. I grew up on this stuff, so there's probably some bias, but then I brought in some out of state people and they still enjoyed this pizza.
Great sauce, crust, and cheese...plus they always got Italian soccer on. All of that equals one hardcore pizza store! -

Growing up in Brooklyn and Long Island, I have a high standard for my pizza. After living in Cambridge MA for 6 years I feel truly justified in saying I have experienced the "Highs & Lows" of Pizzerias. Al-Jon's Plainsboro has the best tasting pies in the Princeton area, with Candela in Lawrenceville and Al-Jon's in West Windsor coming in #2 & #3, respectively. They consistently hit the mark, and in my opinion the "Special Sauce" pie is a taste revelation, smothered in tangy deliciously spiced fresh tomato sauce, fresh garlic and fresh mozzarella. (though my kids prefer the "normal pizza" for Al-Jon's as they call it) I occasionally have a hankering for a white pie, which is also never disappointing.

Aljon's is a really an old-school pizza joint - the kind of place that we'd visit as teenagers after school, or to take the basketball team to. It really doesn't position itself as gourmet, but the flavor is amazing all the same.
Aljon's serves a classic NY-style pizza - thin, 'foldable' crust, a little on the greasy side. If anyone's familiar with the top pizza places in NYC, this is closest to the style at Bleecker Street pizza.
Eugene H. is right - the best outlet was in West Windsor, along the Hightstown road. Again, not the place to take your date to impress her, but a solid choice for an honest slice of NYC-style goodness! -

A coworker of mine is obsessed with this place and insists on going here for lunch at least once a week. I am completely unimpressed. I've been here about five times and the only thing I've actually enjoyed were the garlic knots. Don't get me wrong, the food tastes pretty good, but I never fail to get a terrible stomach ache after eating it. I thought it may have just been the pizza, but I tried a chicken sandwich and it was even worse. I no longer join my coworker for lunch at this restaurant.

I love Al Jon's. A pasta entree order will also get you a salad and bread and more than enough for a second meal. The guys are always friendly and prepare take out orders in a nice box.

Really good Sub and Pizza Joint!!! I had a 1/2 sub and it was loaded with meat and cheese. The line was long and most were ordering pizza and enjoying it as well it seemed. I will be back for pizza. Sub was great !!!!

Aljon's is easily my favorite pizza. The brooklyn pie is simply amazing - they strike a perfect balance of basil, fresh mozzarella, garlic, and olive oil. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, and the menu selection is diverse for an italian place (they have gyro!) ... the fries are the good battered kind too, so make sure you get those along with your sandwich or pizza!

Aljons is a classic pizza place, not classic in the Little Italy sense, but classic in the 80s style suburban American pizza place sense. The restaurant burned down a couple of years ago when the bakery next door went up in flames and took most of the shopping center with it, but now that they have re-opened, the Pizza is always reliable and the subs are as generous as they always have been. I've never had a bad meal here, but the service could be friendlier.

Did not take credit cards, machine not working??? No receipts and forgot to take the coupon I handed him. Mediocre food. Will not return. Not a way to run a local business.

aljon's is my favorite pizza in the universe!! sadly, i no longer live in central jersey, but every time i go back i HAVE to go to aljon's. not an option.
it's a classic jersey pizza joint with ugly uncomfortable booths and pictures of every aljon's sponsored little league team in history on the walls. what could be better?
try the ziti pizza it will rock your world.
