    I am a HUGE fan of the dollar menu, which ultimately lured me in, and outsmarts McDonald's dollar menu any day of the week! The dollar yams are my favorite post-workout treat. The juices are yummy, cleverly named, and I like that I can get them without ice. The value meal is probably the best deal of all, where you get a 16 oz juice, a salad, and a delicious soup or a wrap for $9. You can sample the soups before you buy. The menu is unique, thoughtful, and eclectic. I love that they serve fermented foods as well.

    The owner is swell, as he has generously by provided customers with various samples every time I've visited, such as from their selection of fresh veggie chips. In addition, the staff is VERY friendly and thoughtful. The ambiance is very casual and eclectic.

    Here are the criticisms: The ambiance is not very sophisticated, which actually discouraged me from visiting for several months. Also, foods are served from disposable containers, which likely keeps operational costs down.

    Overall, this place really is a delightful discovery and I enjoy everything I've tried on their unique and healthful menu. I really want them to succeed because they deliver excellent value for the product and price.

    To the owner: THANK YOU for making it easy, convenient, and affordable to eat a scrumptious, nutritious snack or full meal!

    I have been to this place twice in the last week.  I have to say I am extremely impressed.  Originally I came here after the gym seeking a wheat grass shot.   I was a little dissapointed when I called and was told that they do not offer the wheat grass shots but instead they have a beet and ginger detox shot.  I asked the gentlemen on the phone "is it any good?" to which he responded "its a lot better for you than a wheat grass shot" SOLD. My friend and I decided to try it.
    The place is in a small shopping lot in the Shoreline/Lake Forest Park area.  It is quite small but there are some couches to lounge on while inside.  The walls are decorated with fruit paintings and facts.  The owner and a friendly barista were behind the counter.  He made us the beet and ginger shot (they come double and are $3.00 tax included) they are a little on the spicy side and I completely loved it.  Since we had just gotten done working out we both decided to have a protein shake as well.  We both got the Pina Colada and they were ah-maze-ing.

    I came back today with my sister and a different friend after telling them how wonderful my first visit was.  We all got the detox shots which my friend really loved and my sister thought was okay but a little too spicy for her. This time I decided to try a juice instead of a smoothie.  I got the Green Energizer which has Kale, Apple, Cucumber, Ginger and Lemon.  It was extremely good. My sister got the Spring Tonic which she really enjoyed (though she did make a comment that the only way to make it better was to add a shot of vodka) and my friend got Popeys Secret which again was fantastic. My friend also got the Yam Chips which were to die for. It tastes like you're eating something that is bad for you but it's not.

    After both visits I felt refreshed and definitly healthy.  My friends and I are definitley coming back to this place.  We love that the prices all include tax so the bill is always a round number and that they have both food and drinks to make you feel good.

    I have tried all kinds of diet in my lifetime, one of them being raw vegan- which is why I get a little excited when I find places like this. A lot of my friends have been all "no meat?!" but they just didn't understand it and what a great cleanse it can be. The two major things I enjoy about this type of food is A) get full B)no heavy gross feeling afterward.

    I was super excited to try Alive Juice Bar. They have done their homework when it comes to offering flavorful dishes. My boyfriend was SUPER hesitant to try ANY of the food, he was convinced it would make him gag. I had about 3 bags full of just about everything they had offered that day, I forced him to try each dish- and surprisingly he had seconds! He said he couldn't believe how tasty it was. We both enjoyed it for lunch and didn't complain about being hungry 10mins later.

    My mom is a Kale Smoothie girl, she loved loved loved the juice bar!

    I love this place! Conveniently located next to the gym I frequent (24-hour fitness). The hand-lettered signs on the windows and blackboard outside lured me in. And oh, am I glad! Andrew, the owner, is passionate about good health. His smoothies are the best I ever tasted. I love yams and sweet potatoes, and he always adds one, plus kale, avocado and other good stuff, to my drink. Plus, he's a bit of a philosopher, and I always enjoy listening to what he as to say while he makes my drink.

    He's also generous. Once, he forgot to add peanut butter. When I mentioned it next time I was in, he gave me a free sugar-free dessert.

    Like I said, I love this place.

    My family and I love this place. Andrew the owner convinced my teenaged  son to add kale to his favorite drink, the iditerod, and now he's hooked. Its my sons "usual."  I love trying a variety of their drinks. Some favs include the slap in the face (3 stars please), the attitude cleanse and the one that tastes like a bloody mary. We always feel welcome here, are greeted cheerfully no matter who's tending the juicer and we hope that our community will embrace this place so that Andrew will stay around for a very long time.
    cheers.

    I. LOVE. THIS. PLACE.

    I love that everything is natural and raw, I love the guy that runs this place; and also it's practice of having a tab that you can pay off..... that seems like an ancient concept!

    Personally, I love juicing... especially when it's vegetables; you just feel so healthy and wonderful! I especially appreciate the fact that it opens at 6 AM. definitely replacing my morning startbucks with this stuff.

    Unassumingly amazing! I stumbled on Alive about a year ago and get off the freeway regularly to hit this gem. The green energizer juice is wildly refreshing, raw carrot cake is the ultimate guilt free indulgence and the beet chips are addictively crunchy. To top that off the owner is friendly, sincere and passionate about his store. The prices are very reasonable as I can barely make my not-as-good knockoffs for cheaper. If Alive was closer to my house, I would eat there daily.

    Can something ever be too healthy? In a world filled with red bull giving you wings and juice from concentrate with HFC laced all up in it, Alive Juice Bar is the perfect anti-thesis to the whole formula.

    Nestled next to a 24 Hour Fitness in a sleepy little strip mall in Shoreline, Alive has a very special product. They pride themselves on trying new things, changing up the menu as the seasons change, and overall providing a good healthful product for an excellent price.

    There is always something new going on here so come often and try them out. On my recent visit I tried the Green Awakening. It's a hot matcha green tea beverage with fresh ginger and honey. Great for those times you need a little bit of a pick me up.

    Overall, if there was anyplace that lived up to it's name... This is it. Alive really does encourage you "to live!"

    My advice is skip the red bull and try something real.

    Love kale and other veggies? Then this place just might be for you!

    The place is very simple and not dressed up to look very nice, and that's just fine. I wasn't looking for "fancy" or "romantic" when I headed here. I was looking for something healthy and delicious to eat and drink.

    We stared at the menu for almost five minutes, and I ended up opting for their special that involved soup, salad, and a juice. I chose the green energy juice, and was happy that there was only one salad option (kale, mango, miso?) and one soup option. The soup was warm, smooth, and delicious. I actually enjoyed not having to deal with vegetable chunks and noodles for a change. I'm not sure what to say about the salad, but I definitely consumed it very quickly (and enjoyed every bite). The juice was a little strong and very... kale flavored.. but I finished it anyway. I could see how some people would like it, but I think next time I'll try another variety.

    My boyfriend was also not able to make up his mind, so he just told the wonderful female employee (or owner?) what he was looking to gain nutritionally from his smoothie, and she made one with those ideas in mind. For food, he just grabbed a serving of rice and beans.

    While we were eating, she offered us samples of another drink that she was experimenting with, and the male employee asked for feedback about the salad because they like to make little adjustments to their recipe to make it taste just right. I like those kinds of things...

    We ended up leaving feeling healthy and full, and spent just under $20 on food and drinks. I wish I had a place like this near my office!

    The service here is amazing. These are genuine people that love juice.

    I wanted to start drinking more fresh made juices, and didn't want to deal with it at home, so I went here. I went three days in a row, and each time I was greeted as I walked in, they were quick to make my drink, and were very friendly.

    To this point I have been there probably 6 times and had 6 different juices, and like everything else, some were really good, some were ok, and some were a little strong on the ginger... BUT, that really wasn't their fault. They asked me how I liked my ginger. The next time around I simply said 'light,' and it made the drink perfect for me.

    I even contacted them about setting me up a meal plan and Andrew helped me a ton. Thanks guys!

    I love my gym dearly, but for whatever reason, there's not a smoothie joint in the plaza that it's a part of. I love me some coffee from the Third Place Commons, but really. I want a smoothie after I work out. I Yelped Alive and we finally made it there. After weeks of unhealthy eating out (Thank you, crazy ass work), a smoothie full of vegetables was what I needed. I got a kale smoothie with pineapple and a juice I couldn't identify (Carrot? Beet? Both of them?); husband got an avocado smoothie with collard greens, peanut butter, and protein powder. I loved them both...and had to stop myself from raiding the fridge case. So much goodness. At $5-$6 it's a little steep but I don't have room for a Blendtek so I'll pay it.

    Also - there is wifi!!! A girl can only drink so much coffee (And working from home, I need other places to be than coffee houses). Will definitely be frequenting this place!

    Sometimes I'm sitting there, enjoying a meal and I think to myself "man, they should really take the entire contents of this meal, put it in a blender, and turn it into a smoothie." Can't wait to try a 5 Star Phad Thai with Tofu Milkshake or a Fettuccine Alfredo Slushie.

    For now there's Alive Juice bar, which is essentially liquid salad. I never thought I'd want to drink kale, but hey.

    ~~~
    Often I like to drink a beverage and pretend like I'm doing something healthy, like "this Mac and Jacks is made with barley, so I've had my fiber for the day." Alive may actually be too healthy for me. It's so healthy that there is a pretty good chance if I keep drinking it I'll be the first person in history to get whatever the opposite of diabetes is and be an inspiration for an episode of House.
    The drinks here are great. They're also green. My parents didn't teach me to like vegetables, so kale based beverages are about as close as I'm ever going to get. I think the staff here also own the place, and they're not only friendly, they're also generous. They give out samples without asking, and the other day they stayed open until 11 even though the sign said they closed at 10 simply because there were people in there enjoying themselves.
    My friend and I bogarted a large table, we spent a good two hours here acting like kids, playing speed and talking about how Disney totally ripped the Lion King from a Japanese cartoon called "Kimba the White Lion." It was here I also realized that the Ninja Turtles are the only superheroes that fight crime from the comfort of their own home.
    Their smoothies change regularly, but they're made of only natural ingredients (I think organic?), some of which are unusual, like Yam. The service here is great. I plan on going here often.
    Yes, I love it!  This place is exactly my type of place.  I have a few health issues (diabetes, gluten sensitive (not intolerant)) which means I have to watch what I eat so that I don't hurt my health or feel like crud.  Having this juice bar and light meal place near my house is a blessing.  I went after reading the reviews on trusty yelp and they are spot on.  Now the prices may seem high, $5-6 for a drink but it is so worth it when you consider how much goodness is in it.  I got one of the drinks with kale, kiwi, etc and it was delicious.  I also sampled both of the soups they were making for the day and they were good but unfortunately I had already eaten lunch and just wanted a smoothie.
    The place is small, very comfortable looking, and a little odd when you first walk in.  But grab a menu, look it over and the people behind the counter will let you sample the daily food and offer suggestions.  This will definately be a go to place for lunch for me.  Now if I could only get my husband to agree that the smoothies are good (the bright green color of mine freaked him out a bit) it would be perfect!
    I was shocked to see this place receiving such positive reviews. When Alive first opened their employees would harass me daily as I exited the adjacent 24 Hour Fitness. I ignored them for a while, but eventually I caved and accepted a coupon from the treacherous knave who ran the establishment. Whether it was merely my curiosity or perhaps severe glycogen depletion from deadlifting sick amounts of weight that day, I will never know.
    Regardless, shortly after drinking the snake oil I was sold at the Alive Juice Bar, I became violently ill. After a couple days, the food poisining passed and I vowed never to return to the Alive Juice Bar. Anyone who values their health should stay clear of this establishment at all costs. Its close proximity to the 24 Hour Fitness is just a ploy to lure in unwary gym-goers. Acquire your peri-workout nutrition elsewhere.
    I came here expressly for the juice, so keep that in mind. The prices seemed reasonable compared to what I've seen at other juice bars, but it turns out that the price is actually quite a bit steeper because in my 16-ounce cup there was about 12 ounces of ice. The other Juice bars I've been to (Chaco Canyon, Thrive, Greenline Organic) do not add ice to their juices, so when you order a 16-ounce juice you're getting 16 whole ounces of juice. So in terms of bang for your buck, I wouldn't say that this place is the best.
    On the upside though, they're the only juice bar I've been to so far which uses a masticating juicer for all of their juicing. Masticating juicers squeeze the juice out of the produce and expose the juice to less oxygen so the juice can actually be stored for a longer period of time (up to 2 days) before losing its nutritional value.
    They have a decent amount of seating, comparable to Thrive in terms of size.
    I also ended up getting a turkey wrap, and it was pretty tasty. Not quite as filling as I'd hoped for, but tasty.
    I'm not someone who's on the up and up with healthy food, but my friend had me meet her here and I'm glad she did.  It's kind of an indie but comfortable atmosphere, and the people there were really friendly and offered up lots of samples.
    I had a chicken sandwich (was half, on a wrap, and had beets on it), some chicken soup, and the Butterfinger smoothie.  The food was good, but I really loooved the Butterfinger smoothie.  It sounds weird, but tastes oh so good, as I imagine a lot of the smoothies are.  Definitely going to make an effort to go there again and try some more stuff.
    Stopped by here tonight after picking up some goodies at Thriftway in the same parking lot. My boyfriend had been wanting to try this place after he started experimenting with juicing at home.
     He got the Summer Breakfast smoothie and I ordered the Tropical Bugs Bunny, but the guy working told me that the mangoes weren't ripe enough. I asked what he recommended and he offered me the Red Hydrator, but with less beets (I hadn't had beet juice before) and some strawberries =) IT WAS DELISH!! Boyfriend and I traded sips until we'd drained them both.
     The place is a cute little cafe with mismatched couches and painted facts about fruits and veggies on the wall. Books and games are available if you choose to hang out, and jazz music was quietly playing.
      I was a big fan of the barista. He was very smiley and polite and I really appreciated his customization of the Red Hydrator. He said they've been there 15 months and I can't believe I've only just now discovered it. So happy that it's right down the street, I'll have to become a regular at Alive and introduce it to everyone I know!!!
    I admit this may be my first juice experience. I recently watched a movie about juicing and had been eyeing this place on my way to and from the gym next door. Finally decided to check it out. Happy that I did. The juice was suprisingly tasty. We got two kinds and traded back and forth. One was the liver cleanse. I also enjoyed a kale salad which was quite tasty.  I also like how they make it right in front of you. Apparenlty if you dont see anything you like on the menu, you can just pick some vegetables to have juicied. I love that there are so many vegan options, there are no good vegan options in this part of town. People were coming and going even though it was nearly 10 at night, they are open til 11. I hope to be back often.
    I was so excited to discover this little and amazing juice bar next to the 24 hr Fitness on Ballinger.  They have fresh - YES FRESH - fruit and vegetables and a variety of combinations.  They encourage you to create your own as well.  No added anything and so amazingly good for you.  The best is the beet/carrot/ginger shot which is an excellent substitute for caffine, tasty and seriously detoxifying.  The smoothies are more than affordable and the people who work there, especially the owner, super nice.  Long hours, free wi-fi, a charge account available, comfy seating, games to play, great taste in music, yummy drinks and some snack options - it's worth the time to peer behind the pillar that sometimes can fool you and check them out!!!!!!!!!
    Alive Juice Bar is right next door to my gym, in a space that was empty so long, I kept thinking to myself, 'this would be the ideal place for a smoothie bar'...and I guess these terrific folks had the same idea. But more than just a smoothie shack, it's more of a health food lounge, with sofas to relax on, if you like. Honestly,  I feel healthier just walking in there! Everything is fresh fresh fresh.. from delicious soups made daily (a lentil like no other!) to protein smoothies or juices, energy shots like "A SLAP IN THE FACE". They make everything right there in front of you, not behind a mysteriously high counter, and definitely made to order...sweeter? pulpier? how do you feel about a certain ingredient, etc? are some of the questions I'm always asked. Yesterday I custom-ordered a raw salad of beet, carrot and apple with a flax-oil dressing...I got to sample the dressing of flax-oil, lemon, honey and cinnamon and was delighted at how great it was, especially with raw beets! I'm turning 55 this year and following some health issues, I'm in the process of making some dietary changes...dumping meats and bringing in more fresh foods..my motto this year is '55 ALIVE' (they used that as a slogan for dropping the local freeway speed limit, and it didn't work for long... but hopefully it will work for me!) In any case, I always get a little more healthful inspiration after a visit to this favorite spot of mine.
    In a world of high fructose corn syrup and sugared up Jamba Juice frozen junk, Alive is the rare place with real fresh fruit smoothies.  It's comfortable with couches and wifi, run by a nice couple who know a lot about smoothies and nutrition.  They are constantly experimenting with new blends and foods, so there's usually some sampler or an add-on with an experimentally low price.  Overall, the perfect complement to your 24 hour fitness stop next door.
    Alive juice bar is fantastic.  Today I enjoyed a wonderful soup-salad combination that was very reasonably priced, very healthy and tasted delicious.  The soup was unique:  tomato, beet and oregano (I think) and was unbelievably great.  The husband-wife team IS very passionate about what they're serving....and the menu changes based on what's being ordered.  I love their energy bars.......sometimes full of carrot fiber, sometimes made with other good stuff"?.....all depends on what's being juiced at the time they're mixing the ingredients.  And how about that beet and watermelon vinaigrette?  ALIVE is great....let's all support this amazing team!
    Yesterday came as a cool little surprise, while wondering around Ballinger  looking for something to do, my friend I discovered this great smoothie shop. They don't have a "real sign" up yet, but they'll have one in the coming weeks. Everything they serve is fresh, when I say fresh I mean FRESH. We tried some samples of  the Pina Colada, and two others (can't remember the names) but they were all equally awesome. "Alive" is  is also a really great alternative to Bubble tea, similar laid back atmosphere but much healthier. Open till 11pm on weekdays for people that like studying (free wi-fi) or just want to hang around for awhile. They also have magazine's and some cool boardgames. Go for a game of twister while your there. I had no idea this place was open till I walked by, (hidden behind a pillar) but i'm really glad I did. Chat up the owner while your there, really down to earth and know's that she's talking about when it comes to smoothies! GO GO
