And yes I will be another Yelper giving this place another 5 star review.
Every time I've been here, the staff is helpful and pleasant. The weekend hours are awesome and the downtown location has always been clean with the rooms warm and cozy.
I've had various areas treated and it hurts (let's not kid ourselves), but the staff puts you at ease while the snap of the laser goes off. Liz and Dawn are wonderful and are skilled at their jobs.
I would say that allowing an individual to pay by area instead of lump sums does help make this place more affordable and then they offer specials all the time. They even gave me a freebie area to see if I would like the results (it worked I came back for more like an addict).
I recommend this place for sure if you plan on getting any type of laser removal in the near future. -

Deciding to get "lasered" was a very hard decision for me. But I was tired of shaving, and my roommate one day said, "I never shave since getting lasered!" I was sold. She literally had NO HAIR on her legs, and it had been a year since her last laser appointment. She recommended Alite.
I decided to get my bikini line done first. I've been to three appointments, and I know I made the right decision. After each session, the hair gets thinner and lighter, and you barely have to shave. The sessions get booked every 8 weeks, and although I've put more time between appointments due to being on light-sensitive antibiotics, I see a huge difference already. It's pretty expensive, but imagine never having to shave that area again.
I've had both Kristi (my first two appointments) and Bruni. With Bruni, I barely felt any pain. She said your skin gets more used to the lasering after a few treatments, but I could hardly believe that I couldn't feel a thing. She also gave me a stress ball to hold, which was somehow very helpful. They both make you feel very comfortable and not "exposed" at all. I will definitely be continuing treatments, and I will most likely do my legs next. -

I found this place via a Groupon offer and finally decided to bite the bullet and go for laser hair removal. I've been lazy and cheap up 'til now, but the Groupon was the impetus I needed.
I went to the downtown location and found it clean and professional. There's parking and a nice waiting room. Since it was my first visit, the technicial took me through the whole intro process. It took about 15 mins for all the initial forms.
The treatment itself took about an hour (legs, underarms and bikini area). If you're super modest, it may be a bit awkward, but overall, no worse than waxing in terms of personal embarrassment factor. As for pain, it wasn't bad at all. It's MUCH less painful than waxing, in my opinion, and any minor skin redness was gone before I left the appointment.
I have only been to one session so far but I am already loving how much lighter the growth has been. They said I'd need 8 sessions to really be sure all the hair cycles have been permanently zapped. So far, I'm thinking it may not even take that many. Very pleased and looking forward to the final results. -

Completed all my laser sessions a year ago and I am still loving the effects. Hair still grows, but it is baby hair and transparent. You can only see it in the sun and only if you are really looking for it. Started on my underarms now. Yay!
They have a Round Rock location too! And a South Austin location. Laser for all! :)
Liz works at South Austin and was basically my therapist while I was getting my treatments (I was going through some crazy life stuff at the time). She is such a sweet person and I love her.
Dallas is at the Round Rock location and she is great too. Funny, very nice, and accommodating to your needs!1 Previous Review: Show all »

Laser hair removal has been one of my smarter investments over the years. It falls under the category of "things I do to be pretty but also be lazy." You just don't notice how much time you waste shaving until you get in the shower one day and realize you have nothing to shave! I won't get graphic, but it's pretty liberating.
Chelsea is my favorite person at Alite but I'm sure all of the staff is great. I've never had a bad experience with them and they always have great deals if you laser more than one area. -

I was referred to Alite by a friend who raved about the laser hair removal. I was skeptical at first, but am I now incredibly happy with the results! I've used threading for years and paid $15-30 every other month, so $80 every four weeks seemed steep - but it really works! I'm about three treatments in (out of 6-9 total) and can't believe it took me this long to do it.
The salon is comfortable, clean and discrete. Chelsea is amazing and so sweet - I always feel really comfortable and like I can talk openly and frankly about my needs and concerns. It can be crowded at times, but even if we get started a little late, I never feel rushed. -

After my previous post, the owner of Alite contacted me to apologize for my experience. She very professionally and politely explained why my experience may have been less than stellar and offered me a free wax as well as a free underarm laser session just to try it out!
I knew they had only recently opened that location and it's understandable that they had some kinks to work out. So, I decided to give them a second try - and hey, how can I turn down a free wax session?
I made my appointment with Brunie and she was great! Very friendly, very professional, and definitely paid attention to detail. I felt comfortable throughout the entire experience and left a very happy customer.
I can't say that I will come back for a laser treatment (For me, waxing is less painful than the laser. But I think most people prefer laser over waxing) but they definitely won me over this time!
Plus, I always love when the owners of a business contact customers personally if there is a problem. To me, that is an indication of their genuine concern for their clients and I really appreciate that.1 Previous Review: Show all »

I see two ladies here: one for laser hair removal (Bruni) and the other for electrolysis (Valerie). They are both very competent and pleasant, and I think their services are really helping with my annoying hair.
I am a biological blonde, so I have some hairs that are too light to get great results with a laser, which is why I am getting some areas treated with electrolysis. It's a bit more time-consuming than laser treatments, but a bit cheaper (per session, but smaller areas). Valerie is very thorough and as gentle as she can be while sticking me with a super-fine needle and shocking me. :-) I've had three treatments now and I think I've "turned a corner" in terms of regrowth. The upside is that I can go less often. The downside is that I won't be hanging out chatting with Valerie as much, which is a pity as she is quite nice!
For my darker hairs, I see Bruni and her laser (cue the sound effects-- pew! pew! pew!). I've only had two treatments, but they do seem to be working pretty well. It's uncomfortable, but not painful. I just take an Aleve beforehand and then I am set!
The spa itself is pretty nice. Good sized waiting area with current magazines and "informational" (read as: persuasive) glossies about the services offered, and a pleasant front-desk staff. There are also a few dedicated parking spots in front, as well as some street parking, which is a good thing in this area between UT and the Cap.
Overall, I'd be comfortable recommending this place to anyone looking for longterm hair reduction.Listed in: Closer to beeyooteeful

Alite has three locations, but this is the newest one and the only one that also has the new body shaping machines and CHANGES technician.
They are still in the process of updating their website to explain the treatments, but the folks who make the machines have a site with LOTS of information: http://www.getchanges....
I've been doing the Transion treatments, which basically contracts your muscles FOR you! The sessions are about 20 minutes long or so and they say it's like working out for 3 hours at the gym!
The technician, Valerie, worked on my booty and thighs for the first 10 sessions and it is now higher, stronger and firmer! Yeah baby!
The second 10 sessions were on my belly and thighs. Valerie took before and after photos (this is not required) and I can totally SEE the difference! I've lost weight and 6 inches total on my hips, waist and thighs. My jeans fit again!
Now, you have to do your part too. Cardio is your job, but you really only need 30 minutes like 3 days a week or something. I wasn't doing my cardio as instructed at first, but now that I am, the difference is obvious.
Besides this muscle contracting treatment, Valerie can make your skin prettier (wrinkles, skin spots, spider veins, CELULLITE!, etc.) I'm trying this one next!
They are running some specials right now that are a steal for this sort of outcome. You can call them or write Valerie at Valerie@AliteLaser.com. The entire staff is very pleasant. -

This is an update, I have had 5 session so far and I am loving it. The feeling of not having to shave is great. I love Chelsea she is the best and always have a great conversation with her. Their level of service is consistent and they are very professional.

I gotta say it: Alite Laser went far above and beyond my expectations. I just finished my last session there (well, I'll be returning for touch-up sessions very once in a while..but that's it), and the results were just as promised. Can I just tell you how pleased I am about this?!!
Brunie is a damn fine woman. The reviews/ravings about her are true; the woman knows her hair-removal stuff. She's got the kind of bedside manner that you won't find at a standard ghetto bikini-wax joint. (I'd be lying if I said I didn't go to a few of those back in the day). She was able to distract me from the lasering process itself - not really painful, more just uncomfortable. It kind of feels like someone snapping a tiny rubber band on you. And it's over in less than five minutes. OH, and for the record, waay less painful than a Brazilian (I still have PTSD from those few times I got Brazilian-ed, true story).
I rated it as pricey because laser hair-removal is a pricey service in general. But if we're talking about Alite in relation to the other places in town that offer this service, it's comparable in price. And I think they do the best job (I did my research of laser quality, technician training, and every other factor you can possibly imagine. I do my due diligence :)).
I'm saving, saving, saving up to get my legs done at Alite. I thank yelp for helping me find this place--I'm obsessed with it! -

Wonderful! Brunie is a very thorough waxer. I get my Brazillian wax from her.
