If you're trying to figure out health insurance, just give her a call, seriously. She makes it so easy. I understand health insurance pretty well, but it's still not easy to make a decision. Alison finds out from you what you need, and then she makes it happen. She doesn't charge you for the service, there is no reason NOT to go through her. There is a reason Alison has this many 5 star reviews.

I was so frustrated with my insurance woes & was at my wits end [and even cried in my Dr's office--so embarrassing!] My Doc felt so bad for me and referred me to Alison who is amazing. I clearly made a ton of mistakes when I was filling out the insurance form and it's been a total headache to undo [but Alison never complains or makes me feel stupid about the mistakes] Health insurance is so confusing-- DO NOT fill it out online alone, use Alison.
I can not recommend her enough. She's calm, patient, and knows her way around the system like a pro. She also wants you to understand everything. I was in her office for over an hour as she explained to me all my options, what a deductible REALLY means etc.
Plus...she gave me chocolate and how can you be in a bad mood while you're eating chocolate even if you're dealing with the effed up health insurance industry :) -

I have come to the realization that it would be a perfect world if Alison Gordon could clone herself and not only be my health insurance broker but also my doctor, my hairstylist, my car mechanic, my personal trainer, my future childrens' school teacher etc.....Here is a woman who LISTENS so intently to your needs, finds plans that fit your priorities, EXPLAINS them in a way that is easy to understand AND feeds you CHOCOLATE!!!!

Alison is amazing! She has great knowledge of the varying insurance vehicles that are available; and, she takes the time to explain the advantages and disadvantages as it pertains to your particular situation. Okay.....I never write reviews on this thing, but it's hard not to write one for this special lady.
in an age where customer service stinks, and health insurance is a necessity, not only in terms of knowing where to navigate where/to whom to get a solid policy and NOT get screwed, but where you feel comfortable and supported by someone who intimately knows their stuff.
I introduce you to Alison Gordon -- The Insurance Mom.
Simply put -- she's a breath of fresh air, super-knowledgeable, informative, up to date, keeps in touch with her clients by email consistently, very quick to respond to general inquiries....and I could go on and on and on.
Bottom line: If everyone in life/society was as informative, helpful, and took such attention to detail, this world would be one helluva place to live in, LA more specifically. Until that happens, get yer butt over there and sign up with her. She rocks! -

Alison is the consummate insurance guru/"mom"!!!
Having been covered under the Screen Actor's Guild Health Insurance Plan for years, I had amazing coverage with no need to do any research. But when I didn't qualify for SAG coverage, the thought of researching and understanding new plans was overwhelming.
Alison is so passionate and informed that I immediately felt safe and smart choosing which plan would be best for me. I refer who to everyone I know who is in need of insurance.
Recently, my boyfriend at the time had a medical emergency and was not covered. His family had a friend in the area who highly recommended a broker, but they knew how highly I recommended Alison. Come to find out, the family friend was recommending Alison, The Insurance Mom as well! :)
My theory is that good people know good people, and Alison is one of them. I feel like I will always be taken care when it comes to anything having to do with my health insurance. I can count on my INSURANCE MOM-- THANK YOU ALISON!!! -

Alison Gordon is the real deal. She cares about your health, your wallet, and her principles. She will NOT give you photocopied plan comparisons that are confusing and written for brokers, she will not let the HMOs jerk you around, she WILL help you choose a plan that's right for you, apply for it, and manage your entire application process. She asks the right questions, knows her stuff, and will get you right on track with a health care and insurance plan / budget. The Insurance Mom is an apt description of Alison Gordon! I got my insurance through her 5 years ago and she always takes the time to explain to you what you are buying and what it is providing so you can make an educated decision with peace of mind. More than that, she follow through in her service to keep you abreast of changes in your plan, and how they might affect you. Alison Gordon, the insurance mom, is the perfect person to contact for anyone who knows the difference between just buying insurance...and being insured.

Let's start this off right. Alison Gordon rocks my world.
I had been without insurance for longer than I wanted to be. I previously had COBRA insurance through an old job, and upon leaving that job was given the task of finding health insurance on my own. After talking with multiple "agents" over the years who came off as untrustworthy and smarmy, I had given up hope. But realizing what a necessity having health insurance is, I decided to venture out into the world of Insurance Agents once again. Through Yelp, I came across Alison Gordon. And let me say that it was one of the best Yelp lead decisions of my life.
After setting up a meeting with Alison, I went in with a stress level of a 10. Talking about health insurance and deductibles and premiums and whatchamalcallits always made me uneasy. Picking up on this, she instantly made me feel at home and let me know that I had nothing to worry about - she had it all under control. I allowed her to explain to me the ins and outs of health insurance and let her walk me through the process. She created an environment that made me feel comfortable enough to be completely honest with her about everything that was going on in my head, and for once I felt I was on the right track to getting the insurance I had been wanting to get for quite some time. She practically held my hand through the process and helped me to breathe easier. I left with a sense of relief.
Within a week, I received an email from Alison stating that I had been approved and that my insurance would go into effect within a week or so. I couldn't be happier. I only wish that I had found her sooner!
If you need insurance, or just have questions about insurance, or know someone who needs insurance, send them to Alison Gordon! She is top of the line and 100% credible. I stand by this recommendation 10 fold.
And PS.... She's very charming and funny. Just a little bonus to her knowledge and professionalism.

simply amazing! the best! the hubs needed health insurance and we did our own research but ended up overwhelmed with what's all out there. Somehow, someway I found Alison on Yelp. The reviews were stellar and I thought why not? I used a broker for our new car and car insurance and it was a very good experience. So why not for health insurance? I contacted her and she responded within a day I believe and we scheduled a meeting. At the meeting she was very, very helpful. She went over in detail how health insurance works and what all the co-pay, co-insurance, etc. means. Basically, she laid it out for us and it actually made sense. Long story short she found us a great plan for my husband that fit our budget (even was lower than what we expected!!) and a couple weeks later he got approved! yay! Love her style and love her service. She's also your rep so all questions, issues, etc go through her first. If you're looking for health insurance and/or clueless about it, go see Alison stat. Doesn't cost you anything and it saves you from needless stress. She does other types of insurance too so just make sure you go to her website. That's what we did and we're very happy with the outcome! Thank you, Alison!

If the US health care system is leaving you dizzy with confusion, turn to Alison Gordon. One of the most refreshing things about Alison is her unique ability to clearly explain things in a language that is easy to understand. She cuts through the BS and tells you what your options REALLY are. I would strongly recommend Alison to anyone who is need of affordable health insurance. I've learned so much from her and since I've been working with her, I've had zero stress when it comes to figuring out my policy, knowing what my rights are and more.

If you want to shop quotes and go easy and cheap you can do that. but what happens when you need to ask a question about your insurance,change your pan, show new plans etc.Well I have the answer awesome awesome Alison will help you. They don't call her the insurance mom for nothing. She cares about you, educates you in a comfortable unfussy way about what your health insurance is all about and then she finds the plan for you. I know no matter what plan I get we have it handled. I even got a business card with a chocolate thank you and doctor recommendations woowee this was painless, fun and sooo helpful looking forward to my new insurance and working with Alison for a very long time.

I can't write enough good things about Alison. She is very hands on and available to guide you through the confusion of the insurance world. She spent close to two hours with me on our first meeting! I had so many questions.
She has also been there to help me when there were problems with claims. Most other agents, in my experience, disappear after you initially sign up, not Alison. She's always available for my questions.
I continue to recomended her to friends and family. -

Alison is the best!!!!!!!!!!! I have been with her since 1997. She has guided me on all these ridiculous, complex insurance issues. I would not have been able to do it on my own. She has made it so easy to understand it all. And I feel she cares SO much and always has my interest at heart. I have referred Alison to many of my friends and they all have fallen in love with her. She treats her clients with respect and responds to queries and concerns in a timely manner. She's very creative to make sure all her clients get the best coverage at the best rate possible. A friend at work suggested I call Alison - the Insurance Mom - when I wanted to see if I could do better on my pricey, high deductible, PPO health insurance. I was pretty sure I could - but never had the time to do the research. With two phone calls...taking maybe 1/2 hour of my time altogether - I have a new policy - better and much less expensive. I couldn't be happier. She's absolutely terrific - and I would recommend her to anyone - everyone - who has an insurance question or issue.

When I needed to purchase health insurance, I was completely overwhelmed and confused. A friend referred me to a different insurance agent and she basically sent me the same information I could find on the insurance company's website. Then someone referred me to Alison and she took care of everything for me. We got together and talked over my situation, health history, etc and then she recommended specific plans she thought would suit me. She explained them in great detail and answered all of my questions. She made great suggestions that I never would have considered. Best of all, my insurance plan costs exactly the same as it would if I purchased it directly from the company. And the bonus is that I get this wonderful, tough woman to call whenever I have a question instead of going through endless phone tree navigations with the company. I cannot recommend her highly enough!

Alison is the most helpful insurance person ever!!! I came into this not knowing anything about health insurance and Alison went over all the options with me and took all of the horror out of dealing with the insurance companies. I strongly suggest talking to her before buying any insurance.
