Beautiful view, Nice course. Alittle tough with some of the water obstacles. I have never played 9 holes yet where I didn't lose a ball, but that's okay. Really nice golf course. The only problem is getting there. Give yourself extra time on the weekend due to the line of cars cruising along Pacific Coast Highway.

In it's day I'm sure it was very nice.... But that was the 70's. Wonderful secluded location, no doubt a nice little golf course. But the hotel hasn't been upgraded for years. The place was clean but smelled of mildew, glad I brought my scented candles.  Furniture vintage 70's and dogeared. Kitchen dated. The design is something between California ranch and a tired ski chalet. Outside is pretty, but even the sprinkler systems were broken, flooding the parking lots and patios. Walls are paper thin, the neighbor's sexcapade kept us up with screaming and the bed banging against the wall. For some reason it feels like there's nobody here. Has the feeling of a cheesy horror film, I think someone else said a Jason movie... Pretty close. Would we stay here again? Probably no.

At the edge of Laguna Beach, past Thousand Step Beach, and if you're lucky enough to find it is this inn. We held a two day retreat here for my networking group and boy was I lost driving up here and I only live 15 minutes away.

The sign off the street is a little misguided and as you drive in you're a little taken aback by the warehouses that you pass but trust me, they all lead to the golden prize at the end.

For two days, we had the conference room and the staff served us a complete meal, brought in cookies, water, tea, coffee etc. It was actually pretty neat. This Inn isn't in the best shape and it's one of the older ones in this community but it's good for what it is and serves its purpose. The staff is friendly and accommodating.

The rooms are neat. We partied in a suite style room that had a living room, kitchen, upstairs living area, two bathrooms, and a patio. There's also a pool and jacuzzi on the property. Not bad for the 2 days we were there.

Aliso Creek is a very unique 9-hole golf course. It's a great course to take someone who is learning the game. Not only is Aliso Creek a great place to practice, but it's a great place to play. And for new golfers, perhaps their first peek of how a nicer course can add to your experience.

The Course: Aliso Creek is an executive course by definition with no hole longer than 315 from the tips. But 5 of the 9 holes are par 4's and you can use your driver on 4 of them (I would lay up on the first hole). The par 3's vary in length from 100 to 200 yards. Greens were punched when I played but I imagine they are just fine when fully grown. Fairways and rough were in great shape and I probably saw about a dozen deer. They were about 5 feet away from us when we were putting on 5.

Facilities: Tucked wayyyy back into the canyon, it's an easy place to miss. Very unassuming spot, but very nice.

Pace of play: Walked on a weekday and finished in a little under 2 hours, and that is without being rushed at all. You will want to take your time with this place because it's so nice.

Value: The morning rack rates are a little high a 9-hole par 32 course. No need for a cart either. This place is walkable and worth the walk. With the RedDot book, I got a 2 for 1 deal with my girlfriend on a weekday afternoon to the tune of about $16 per person. Not bad at all.

One of the nicest resorts in Laguna Beach.
Because we stay at many hotels, we get good service with
http://Hotels.com. We arrived on a stormy night in Laguna.
The staff informed me that we would be upgraded to a
King Suite, upon arrival. What a nice complement to our
weekend. The storm was one for the century books
with heavy rain and wind. Adding character to the night
was the sounds of the trees and the creek.
We woke to a golden day, and 2 inches of water
    outside our back door.
But hey, its Laguna Beach. a kitchen a great comfortable bed,'and a warm shower. What else do you need? Oh yeah the beach...just down the block.

I recently stayed here for a weekend retreat. The grounds are amazing and well kept! The resort sits next to a golf course and the beautiful Laguna Canyons are the backdrop of this rustic charming little Inn.

The suites are like bungalow style condos. We stayed in a very spacious two bedroom unit. It is two stories 1 .5 baths and has a full kitchen and patio. each room had two full beds and there was a sofa pull out in the living room. The unit was in fair condition, however it could use a good deep cleaning and minor maintenance repairs.

Our unit faced the pool and from our patio you could actually walk out to the pool. The pool area was in great condition as well as the Jacuzzi area. Their banquet rooms were nice as well.

The beach is walking distance just across the street and it is beautiful! There is just something about Laguna Beach, the ocean is so clear, blue and refreshing. This is also a short walking distance to the Montague, great hiking trails and shopping.

Am I the only person awake who comes to this hell hole? Each room looks like a place Jason stabbed a person in the chest in the Friday the 13 series.  The front desk staff is the worst.  If you like to golf, come and golf.  If you want a quiet vacation getaway from the typical SoCal junk, STAY FAR AWAY.

Our unit was housed between two loud families WHO CAME TOGETHER.  In other words, we were FLANKED by two loud families.  I don't blame these folks for being loud.  I blame the Aliso CROCK Inn for not putting them adjoining in units.  Did I mention the light in our bathroom didn't work and we were told they'd have to get to it the next day.  Should you share our fate, enjoy showering with NO light.

When we asked, the front desk person about our messed up situation, the guy shrugged his shoulders and said, "Ask the reservations person." He said this after we were PROMISED to be moved to a new room.

Look, I get it.  You want a place to stay in Laguna that isn't gong to break your wallet.  At least a corporate place will replace the SINGLE bathroom light, has a strategy about where it places its renters, and doesn't treat detractors like trash.

This place is the worst! Never again!!!

A very nicely located course, price is what you'd expect for a Laguna Beach location but the scenery is worth it if there's not a lot of players on the course.

The first tee is nicely located at the top of the hill with a great view. Once you're off in the second hole you pretty much get lost in the nice hillsides and back area of Laguna.

A laid-back course, expect to see walk-on golfers playing in their flip-flops.

After playing, head off to the beach down the street or grab a bite at one of the nearby joints.

Five stars is largely due to the great deal!  I have been coming here for over 10 yrs now and just love this little course.  From $20-35 for a round.  A course that can (and should) be easily walked.

This place is enveloped by nature.  Rabbits, deer, foxes etc...just awesome.  Things are changing due to the sale a few years ago, but the change is slow and thus I am able to deal with it.

Its a fav of locals.  Always a blast having a local lagunatic join our 2 or 3 some and learn a little more about the course history.

Where else can you drop in at 6:30 am, play 9 holes and still be at the office by 9ish.

    Love it!!

We had really great time. Nice time by the pool and hot tub. Friendly receptionists   and smooth check in. Save place with kids, nice peaceful rounding. Nice big pool. Very large condos with kitchen, big living room etc.
Maintenance could had been better thought. We had broken water sprinkler going on at night and getting yard soaking wet.
Some floors you can see that they were just cleaned in the middle and not all the way to the edges. Some painting would not do bad.
But still it was great and would go again.

We were happy and had fun. It was great to be swimming looking at canyon, wondering about it's pass.
    Great nature, private and peaceful.

This place is nice.  It's an older facility so its not as fancy as I would have liked.  But I enjoyed my stay and the staff are pleasant and helpful.  I originally booked a 1 room suite but ended getting a 2 room suite for no additional cost.  The place is well maintained and clean.   Its close to the downtown area so we didn't have to drive far to find a grocery store or restaurant.  I also think the rate is on par with what you get.  thumbs up!

This place is really amazing. The scenery is great, the course is laid out nicely, and provides a challenge. The greens are in great shape all year round. Even with some of the flooding that they had during the rains it recovered just fine.

The staff is always very friendly and helpful.

The course is only a 9 hole course but it does offer a lot of challenges, I would suggest to bring some extra balls with you because there is a lot trees and a creek that runs through it.

Great track for the price. Always a lot of fun.

Here's what the Aliso Creek Inn has going for it: secluded location off the main hwy allows you to feel like you're "away from it all" without leaving Laguna. The grounds and golf course are very nice. The rooms are extremely spacious; these aren't "hotel rooms", they're more like apartments so ... in that regard, it's a pretty good value. This could be an amazing place with some upgrades. John (front desk) was very helpful; he was a bright spot in an otherwise lackluster experience as far as service goes. Javier and the cleaning crew were also very polite and helpful.

Now, on to the 'not so good': Yes, the rooms are outdated and a bit dingy. Mine was clean but I heard several people in our group weren't so lucky. We also had a broken screen on the sliding glass door. If you read other reviews, you'll see lots of this so I'm not going to elaborate. The kitchen, in my opinion, was not 'well equipped." No dish towels? No pot holders? Warped pots 'n pans? One dirty sponge to clean dishes with?! C'mon, give your guests a fresh (in wrapper) sponge. And I know I wasn't the only one. This is just one example. There is a microwave in the room. Other reviews have said there isn't. As far as sleeping goes, beds are pretty hard and the linens leave a lot to be desired (hard, scratchy). We liked that the room had a nice large patio and parking was plentiful and easy.

We were there with a group/conference so our experience was a bit different. If you want to plan an event/wedding/conference here ... proceed with caution! Unresponsive staff that created more problems than solved. First, 10 of our guests (over half) were displaced to the Travelodge/Laguna Reef Inn a short jannt up the road the first night (due to a corporate account extending its stay)... despite the fact that we had a contract signed 11 months prior. One would think that giving those people a comp would be a given ... for their inconvenience, right? WRONG! We had to fight for it the whole next day until the comp was finally offered. Next, one of the people in our group back into a carport pole. She offered up her info and took responsibility but the sales manager made a bigger issue out of it than it needed to be and accused her of 'hit and run'. Lastly, since it's a 'pet friendly' hotel (the reason we choose the Inn) ... we were told we'd have a pet deposit for our dogs. We were prepared for that. We were not charge the deposit (fine) ... instead, we received a list a week later of 10 rooms with "extensive pet damage" ... 3 of those rooms didn't even have dogs! Where's the credibility there? Needless to say, the charges were dropped but not without more "hairpulling.' Just seriously lacking in customer service and really just putting us thru the wringer. Yes, they ended up doing the right thing but ... how about just doing the right thing in the first place and not creating so much stress for your guests?

This hotel is a nice value for the area and the grounds are very nice. The rooms are very spacious. As an individual guest, just know that you aren't' signing up for luxury when you book here. If you're booking for a group, I would not be able to recommend holding an event here. The restaurant is also CLOSED; it's limited to banquets/events since earlier this year.

Very interesting hotel. The rooms ate like dated apartments. The bed was surprisingly comfy and the place is clean.  No real luxuries  unless you consider the nasty creek that runs through the resort. If they updated the rooms it would be a top notch place. The location is the best, right across from west street beach.

Great little nine hole course. Very tight on the right side, if you miss the fairway by much you will probably lose a ball. You should be able to get by with an iron off pretty much every tee.

Decent price and good location right next to the golf course.   Rooms are a little secluded.  You check in at this building near the golf course and then drive through a private lot and bridge to get to the rooms.  Parking is in the carports.  When I was there, I never saw anyone come in or out.  Very quiet.

The rooms are spacious and comes with a kitchen and dining area.  However, the place is very old and needs to be renovated.

We just checked into Aliso Creek Inn today and we love it so much, we want to live here! It's so neat how the
main entrance is right across the street from an awesome beach, but yet the rooms, restaurant/bar & golf course are tucked back in the canyon with tons of gorgeous vegetation, wildlife & not to mention the creek running through the middle. We enjoyed some cocktails at the bar, the waitress was super nice & even told us about some hiking hot spots. We hungout at the jacuzzi & met some very nice locals. The only downfall, pool/spa closes at 10pm, and being night owls, we would love to stay later. The rooms are extremely spacious, seperate bedroom, full kitchen, living room, bathroom & vanity area - and not to mention the fenced in, private backyard, full of vegetation. It's seriously far more than we expected! If you are into hoity toity, flat screen tvs, glamourous hotels - this is not the place for you. The rooms are old, it's very down to earth and has a super cozy mountain lodge feel. I've heard this is generally a very quiet place, but luckily for us - we were here on a night full of parties & young people. It was very fun & entertaining!

I like this hotel a lot.

You get a bungalow-type condo with no one staying above you or below you, and sometimes no one even next to you on one side.  all the units are spread out across this large, grassy piece of land.

Lots of windows and natural light in the room.  Also, you get a full bedroom plus living room with a pull out bed and a full kitchen, and a small back yard.  The pool and jacuzzi are right there, easy to get to.  They have shuffle board and some little games for kids, and you can rent a meeting room for dining if you go with a group.

It's a really great place to go with small kids, because there are grounds to walk around, bunnies and sometimes deer running around, a creek, plus you can walk to the beach.

It's more of a rustic place so if you are looking for a super brand new luxury place where they give you massages and put rocks on your back and cucmbers on your eyes, this isn't for you (go to the Montage).

But I think this place is a bargain for what you get.

The Montage actually bought this hotel and keeps threatening to tear it down so all their uber rich customers can have a larger golf course, I hope it never happens!

Got a great deal on this place off TravelZoo.  Decided to take my wife here for our anniversary / Valentines day get away.  What a mistake..  Booked a King / Queen bed and when we arrived at the room we had two very small double beds.  Not a way to spend a romantic weekend.  I called the front desk and they said there was nothing they could do.  The room was a very large one bedroom but looked and smelled like it was last decorated in 1980.  The furniture was gross and none of it matched.  The bathroom was even worse.  Would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Beggers can't be choosers.  My options were limited to stay in this area near the ocean with a family of 6 for $160 a night.  To find a 1,200 sq ft 2 bedroom suite with 2 baths and a kitchen is just what we needed.  The location is beautiful and the executive golf course priced nicely and very enjoyable.  The Jacuzzi was awesome and the grounds among the canyon very nice.  The accomodations were a bit shabby.  Hardly any cookware and no dishwasher.  Be sure to bring the basics - sharp knife, wine bottle opener, pot and pan.  I recommend paper plates and plastic cups.  The two sinks in the upstairs bathroom - one stuck on crankin hot and the other ice cold.  The good news is we have 4 and 5 year old boys.  Play ball in the house?  Sure why not?  We're on vacation and everything is already dirty or broken anyways.  Oh and a nice thing was the maid service which came daily and did a fine job.  I would not have expected that.  I was also excited that they offer happy hour prices at the bar to all guests all the time.  But when I went to the bar on a Friday at 5, it was closed to us for a private party that would begin later.  Very disappointed...  Will we come back?  You betcha!  Price is king and we don't spend much time in our hotel room anyways.  Very close to great beaches and good restaurants & bars.  My family loved it.  One more thing, if you're picky about pillows B.Y.O.P.
