    FAJITAS, FAJITAS, FAJITAS!!!!

Not only is this a specialty of this place, it's the only thing I've had.    I've tried the chicken fajitas and the beef fajitas.   Both are extremely flavorful!   They were probably the best beef fajitas I've ever had, which I didn't expect, because honestly they're not very pretty to look at.   It's not the delicately sliced steak you get at most places, but pieces of tenderized beef instead.

The grilled green onions on top are a nice touch, and the beans here were fantastic.

I can't speak for the rest of the menu, but if you come here, get the

FAJITAS, FAJITAS, FAJITAS! (especially the beef)

Quick: I don't eat her much anymore after my friend was severed rotten steak.

I have need eating at Alicia's since it opened and it has been my favorite place for Mexican food since then. Recently my 5 star opinion of them has changed. The past several times we have been there, someone's order has been severely subpar.

The first time, a skillet came out with very little meat, and what was there was hard, dry, and overcooked.

The last time we were there my friend was served rotten meat. He knew something was wierd when he stared eating it. His first thought was that maybe the bell pepper had just give a piece of meat a ton of flavor. If you have never tasted rotten meat, it's signature is the aftertaste that lingers in your mouth.

    Favorite Tex-Mex in Cypress, TX

My wife and went to Alicia's a couple of months ago, along with 2 other people. The margaritas were quite good, not great, but they did the trick.

We had nachos, Camarones Alicias and other dishes. All of them proved to be very good. The chips were fresh and the salsa had a nice little kick to it.

This place is a little expensive but the food is worth it. I will definetly be going back and then will write another review.

This place gets very crowded on the weekends so call ahead if you can

So-so fajitas, nothing different but not bad. Good margaritas, but again, nothing different. Good queso!

This restaurant is ALWAYS crowded so beware of that. Early lunch, lunchtime, late lunch, early dinner, dinner time, WHENEVER, they are ALWAYS crowded!!! So if you don't want to wait, go to La Hacienda or El Charro down the road. Those are both really good too.

I really wanted to try this place based on the reviews, but they fell short over and over again. Our waiter did a disappearing act, but eventually some other waiter noticed and took our order- apologized for us waiting so long. Queso came, it was sup-par. Nothing special, just cheese sauce. We got the spinach enchiladas and tilapia bianca. The spinach enchiladas were missing something- salt and pepper helped, but I just wasn't wowed by the dish. I did enjoy their rice! The tilapia bianca was good- blackened just right, but transformed to amazing when we poured the queso all over it! Cheese makes everything better.

Both dishes could have been stellar if they kicked things up a notch. The spotty service and lack luster food means this won't be a repeat- there is better food in the area.

We go back here over and over for a few reasons. 1)  We find it to be a little more kid-friendly than Lupe Tortilla's (which is cramped unless you score a booth), 2) the margaritas are great and 3) This reason is the biggest....we LOVE the fajita meat here.

Whatever they do to season/marinate the meat is delicious. I have to say that I prefer it to Pappasito's and it's on par with Lupe's...but not as pricey as Lupe's.

It's also more convenient for us to get to than a Lupe's or a Pappasito's. Okay, so I guess I just listed another reason why we go here.

Oh yeah...my wife just reminded me that the tortillas here are way better than pappasitos. Both are fresh made, but Alicia's tortillas are a little thinner, and less dough-y!

I came here today with my girlfriend after I raved and raved about their lime-ey fajitas and amazing tortillas. We were craving the good stuff.

However, this time it was a total meh experience. The tortillas hardened as soon as they cooled - meaning they must have been previously made and then reheated. Not so fresh. The fajitas were good, not great, and the presentation for the "fajitas for two" wasn't your standard. They gave us one bowl of rice and one bowl of beans - not two.

The food is decent, but such a darn loud atmosphere it almost ruins the entire experience for me. Last time I went I left with a sore throat because I as pretty much in a shouting match with my party the entire time.

Like I said, food is up there in quality, but not the best environment. I would definitely recommend this place, but only to off peak hours, like weekday lunch, or of that sort.

This is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. Whenever I head home, it's a must-go. The main room is pretty loud, so I try to ask to be seated on the right (by the bar there's another room that's sometimes quieter).

Excellent margaritas. I usually just get the crispy tacos because I fill up on their delicious queso and guacamole! Mmm-mmm good!

Food was flat out not up to par. Restaurant ambience looked decent enough. Chips were edible but the salsa was too watery and tasteless. It had the consistency of a  bad case of you know what.

Our party had  chimichanga, beef and chicken fajitas, and chicken enchiladas. While the chimichanga was edible, the queso they poured on it was likesome generic brand American Cheese slices melted on top.

The beef in the beef fajitas looked like beef quality that should be grounded for chili and not served as fajitas. actually as I type this , we are feeding my cousin's pet dog the leftovers.

I don't think I have been to a worse mexican restaurant.

I've been back to Alicia's multiple times now and can now give them 4 stars.  The service is impeccable.  Even if it looks crowded, I've never had to wait more than a couple minutes for a table and usually get seated right away.  I've gotten over my issues with their enchiladas.  This isn't greasy hole in the wall Tex-Mex but a nicer, finer cuisine.  I've been back for both a date night and a family gathering.  With our large group, we had no problems with service.  The ambiance inside is great for a date night with low lighting (sorry, don't get out much without the kids and just the spouse).

I love their outside patio and sit there whenever I can.  The decor and upkeep of this place is top notch.  You won't be disappointed.

I've been hard on Alicia's in the past, but it's time I kick them up a star. The tortillas here rank up with the homemade ones from my favorite taco shop, and the fajitas are better than in the past.

Also, don't overlook the fish here. It's quite good.

I'm not sure what's in their margaritas besides tequila, but I should have ordered dessert in order to have time to sober up on my last visit. Highly recommended.

I had not been here since they moved into their new building and since it had been a long day in the sun I longed for the sweet nectar of Tex Mex to bring me home.

I will just start off with, I will never, ever ever ever be back to this place. Its a shame, because their food is very good. I will handle this place as in a bulleted style list, as my jaw still hasn't closed shut from the way this place treated us.

    * Service was slow. They were busy but not overly so. The wait times for water, drinks, chips, salsa just took longer than it should have.

    * I had been without water for a while and when they dropped the food the runner left a pitcher of water behind. But no one used it. I removed myself from my seat to refill my water from the pitcher that was not being utilized. The waiter took it from me and told me "'preeshiate ya man". Really... how about sorry?

    * Our waiter stopped while walking past us for the sole purpose of making fun of one of the busboys, and tell us how they all make fun of the guy for being small. Literally walked past us, stopped, hunched over, pointed, told a story and left when we looked at him in utter disgust.

    * When asked how much a margarita was, our waiter said about 8 bucks, when we balked at that, he said, well its like $6.50. I told him he was not confidence inspiring and to please go find out how much I was expected to pay. He was not happy with this turn of events. I guess it was rude to want to know a price.

    * Jason ordered a burrito with REGULAR BEEF. He was presented with a burrito with fajita beef. When we got the bill not only was the burrito 50 cents more than what the base burrito should have been but the waiter up sold him an extra dollar for the fajita. I know this happens, but we all felt Jason was clear on what he wanted. Jason presented this quandary to the waiter who argued that he was SERVED the fajita beef. SERVED, not ordered and would not acknowledge the mistake. Jason told him he did not appreciate the waiter spending his money for him. It was at this point the waiter panicked, told us we were the rudest customers he had ever had and ran for the manager. (Yeah, we were all screaming for the manager by this point anyway)

    * The manager came over and did not apologize for anything. In fact, I am willing to bet he wasn't even listening. Margie N. told him he could go take the $1.50 off and we would call it square. He returned with 99 cents taken off. She told him to fix it again. He finally took off somewhere in the neighborhood of 2 bucks and accused us of wanting the whole ticket comped and hunting free food. I could go on about this guy... but whats the point.

    * On our way out we asked the waitress who the General Manger was, when the a fore mentioned poor managerial skilled person ran around the corner saying "I am I am" before the hostess could speak. I don't believe this for a minute.... I feel very confident we were mislead. I have never seen a GM wear the same thing as other floor managers, treat customers so badly, not know how to handle a situation, not know how to discount a ticket or do math, and have his shirt unbuttoned down to his hairy man nipples all on the same Sunday evening.

    * The "General Manager" says they get lots of complaints. I can't even imagine why... but alarm bells are buzzing.

    * The food was splendid. They really have some of the better green salsa around, and the chips are good. Their enchiladas are great... All the food was packed with flavor, and was presented to us at an amazing temperature. None of the food needed tweaking when it got to the table and we were served an abundance. Too bad their service will wreck 'em.

I waited a couple days to write this review so that I could cool off, and perhaps not focus so much on the negatives but quite honestly I don't know of a time I have felt I had been treated SO poorly somewhere. In fact, if the service was right on and the food was this good, it would be La Finca and it would be across the street from my house.

I left feeling like I was the butt of a joke, and that they tried every which way to get over on me like it was April fools.

Alicia's, Alicia's, I've heard so much about you, and I was not pleased.

I tried you today for lunch, and you were busier than HEB the day before a hurricane is predicted to hit.  I do have to say though, the service is great, like a well-oiled machine.  Fast, efficient, and friendly.  The service is top notch.

The chips and salsa were fabulous.  Crispy, Crunchy light chips were perfect with the salsa.  The rojo salsa was fresh, but the verde salsa was absolutely wonderful.  It was just a little spicy, smooth, and had a creamy consistency.  This is some of the best verde salsa I have ever had.

I ordered a plain burrito, and it was a sad, sad, sad looking thing.  The description made it sound so good, but what I got was a burrito that was smaller than the small size burritos as Taco Cabana and tasted about the same.  The filling was meager, kind of bland.  I asked for the queso topping on the side as well, and it was also a disappointment.  It was more cheesy than creamy, and no kick whatsoever.  It was just yellow.

The meal was expensive (6.50) for a tiny burrito with only lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream on the side.  I was disappointed, especially after having the salsas.  The salsas were so good, I thought the main mean would be wonderful too.

Alicia, you're getting 3 star for the following reasons: great service, great rojo salsa, and yummy verde salsa.  I may give you another chance to try again, but I won't be ordering the burrito again.  I'm hoping that your other offerings can redeem this review.

The main attraction to any mexican/tex-mex restaraunt has to be the fajitas. If the place can't deliver on that, then they might as well be ready to pack up and move within a few months.

On that subject, this place, delivers the GOODS.

I will go out on a limb and say, these are by FAR, the best fajitas i have ever tasted. They beat my father's, cousin's, everyones. They are as close to perfect as i have ever tasted. marination done in the juices of lime?? ive been to several mex rests and this is the first that does this. Its rare but amazing when its done. and the tenderness of any of the meats is amazing to savor.

yeah, this place delivers on any kind of fajitas youd like.
the margaritas are quite generous, especially at the times of happy hour, cant beat that price. careful on when you go. Friday, saturday nights, and early sunday evenings are PACKED. but you get a table and the service is great, well paced.

Simply put, youll come out thinking, "when are/am we/i coming back, cuz its not going to be soon enough!"

I have heard neighbors and friends rave about this place for over a year, yet everytime I wanted to go (on the weekends), the place is absolutely packed. Moving into their new digs (their sister restaurant Dario's took the old spot next door), wait times have eased a little. Anyway, I decided to try on a week day night during the holiday around 8pm, and while crowded, we were seated right away. This place has the perfect ambiance for an upscale mexican grille without the outrageous prices to match. The menu is unique, but there are many standards with a twist to match the innovation.

I opened with a Dos Equis Lager (23oz for $4.50) and my date had a Grande Marg ($8). We passed on an appetizer (many to choose from) and decided on the beef fajitas (with two jumbo grilled shrimp) $14.50 plus $2.25 for extra shrimp) and the Shrimp Enchiladas. Both dishes were outstanding. Tortillas are first rate and the seasoned grilled skirt steak was delicioso. We couldnt finish either entree so decided to take home for later. A full week later (not for the timid), I finished off the cold leftovers and they were awesome.

I cannot believe this place hasnt been reviewed to date, but this place is getting a not so quiet reputation as being the CHOICE for mexican food on this side of town (Cypress/290).

meh... not so impressed.  My daughter and I came in Sunday after church, were quickly seated at a booth.  Chips/salsa quick to arrive.  Green sauce is wonderful, the red was a close second.  So far, so good.  Anytime I'm at a new mexican restaurant, I'll order tortilla soup-- and I know I can nibble off the other plates on the table!  I ordered a bowl of the spicy tortilla soup, with extra avocado.  It's a huge serving.  I was very dissatisfied with the "extra avocado".  Perhaps a teaspoon graced the top of the soup.  It can only be described as a thick heartly tomato soup with chicken and some tortillas.   My daughter ordered beef fajitas.  A basic tex-mex dish.  While their tortillas are beautiful, homemade and hot, the fajita beef was more on the fatty side and we've had better.   Great ambiance, nicely decorated, but for the food:  It was good food, just not great.

Yelp has another listing for this restaurant, but it's listed on Cypress Rosehill.

We heard many good things about this restaurant so we finally tried it. It's hard to go anywhere but Los Cucos because we are usually disappointed. Well, this was a nice change with many "new" things on the menu than the traditional enchiladas, burritos and fajitas.

I got the chicken stuffed pablano pepper (I can't remember the specific name of the dish) and it was very tasty. Put the awesome salsa on top and it was perfect. I was too full to try a tortilla but they did look good.

We also had good waitstaff. Since they've opened up the new big building, we had no problem being seated with a party of 6 on a Wednesday evening around 8.

Thanks to Farrah for her review, otherwise I would not have found this place.

I'll start by saying the chips and red salsa were amazing.  The salsa tasted fresh, and was very flavorful.  I also liked that they bring you a large bowl of chips to the table.

The service was just OK, but considering they were quite busy on a Sunday evening, I can forgive it.

The fajitas were excellent.  Both the beef and chicken were very tender and well seasoned.  I also enjoyed the re-fried beans as well.  They were a little on the salty side, but I approve.

The cheese enchiladas were above average, but not the best I've ever had.  All in all for this side of town this place is a safe bet for your Tex-Mex cravings.

My friend and I go to Alicia's pretty often. This is the best mexican food restaurant in our part of town.  I LOVE mexican food.  We usually go on Friday nights, which if you are in a hurry to eat and leave, then do not go at this time.  We always have a pretty good wait time, but the food and service is worth it... and actually the other people waiting for some yummy food are pretty nice too.  We always end up striking up random conversations before we get seated... good food makes people happy and gets people talking about it too!

On to the food... the chips and salsas are very delicious.  My best friend and I call ourselves "The Green Sauce Queens," so anytime I go to a mexican restaurant, I get the most excited about the green sauce.  The green sauce at Alicia's definitely makes my taste buds happy!  I usually get one of their mixed plates that comes with a taco, cheese enchilada, chicken flauta, and the usual rice and beans.  Pour a little green sauce on the flauta and this entree is awesome!

My only complaint about this place is that it can get pretty noisy.

Simply wonderful. It's not my favorite Mexican food place, but this is the place to go if you want to go a litlte more upscale than your average Mexican restaurant.

It's a little pricier (think Pappasitos versus your usual neighborhood cantina), but the food is fantastic and the atmosphere is incredible although the restaurant is very crowded and very loud. If you haven't tried their beef fajitas, you are missing out on what is probably the absolute best platter of carne asada that you can get in the entire city. Plus Negro Modelo on draft to wash it all down with. What more could you ask for?

I've been to this place a couple of times now. I enjoyed it but I can't repeat the recommendation that this is the best fajitas in Houston (those would be the combo fajitas from Papasito's on 45S out towards Galveston, although it's possible my opinion is being colored by the fact that when I had them, I'd just finished a 6hr ordeal of dropping my wife off for a cruise and was ravenous). They are, however; some of the best in Cypress.

I think my expectations were too high walking into this place after reading all of the out-of-this-world reviews on yelp. Everything I've tried here has been merely good, but that's not exactly a bad thing.

The service was speedy. The food is consitently ok to good. The only thing I have to say about the place that is actually negative is that it's a little loud inside.

I've been to Alica's several times. The food and service have consistently been very good and we actually catered their fahitas for a party once. Unfortunately, I will not go back until they make modifications to the building. The noise inside is simply unbearable. Last time we went my wife and I both left with headaches and vowed not to return. It's a shame that they build the beautiful, purpose-built building but left out any noise controlling materials. It's almost as if they wanted it to be loud. If you go, don't expect to carry on a conversation unless you shout ... and then you too wil contribute to the din.

In an area that doesn't have many restuarants that aren't affiliated with a chain, Alicia's is one of the best. They're beef fajita meat is really tender and has a touch of lime. I usually get a taco al carbon and cheese enchilada. The cheese enchiladas are ok... but then again I am VERY picky about that. And I wouldn't advise on the chicken dishes... not very flavorful. But overall, great food, decent prices, yummy margaritas, and good service. This is the perfect I don't want to drive too far or its tuedsay and I don't want to cook today restaurant.

BEST FAJITAS EVER!!! This is all I ever order when I come here but I've tried the chipotle fish, stuffed jalapenos, and stuffed avocado dishes as well. The chips and salsa they give are YUMMY too! The decor is spot on, service is pretty good, but it does get crowded because it's just that awesome. I get things TO-GO a lot too, they pack everything nicely and just the way I want it. However, don't leave without checking your order! I know it's like common sense, I checked it every time I ordered and I never missed anything, but the one day that I decided not to check because of their good track record, they had forgotten to give me my rice! But I still love you Alicia, you've never done me wrong.

I've been a couple of times and when you walk in you think, wow, this is a nice looking restaurant.  Then you sit down and wait, service was a little slow on both occassions.  Don't expect to go in and have a quiet dining experience, this place is VERY loud.  The food is good, not great.

Super yummy salsa and chips, great selection of food but VERY noisy. If you're trying to have a conversation with anyone not sitting directly next to you, forget it.

I have to say that Alicia's has delicious food. As far as Mexican food is concerned  I would say it is probably the best in the Cypress area (I still prefer Spanish Flowers in Houston though). I usually try to go on off times because the restaurant can get very crowded to the point of being pretty uncomfortable especially on Fridays, but that probably means its good right? The wait staff has always been attentive and we have never really has a problem in that area. The fajitas for one are wonderful and really enough for 2 or enough to take home and enjoy the next day too!

Maybe I'm being a bit harsh with the 2-star review but I really expected way better with all the rave reviews on Yelp.  Pretty much everything was bland and not very flavorful.  The beef fajitas seemed like they were going for a smokier version of Lupe Tortilla's lime-infused fajita, however the end result was not as good as it should have been.  The salsas were runny and served refrigerator cold.  If you can't get fajitas and salsa right I don't have much hope out for the other dishes.

My boyfriend loves this place & says that it is the best mexican food he has ever eaten.  I would have to agree to some extent....  The chips are always fresh and the green salsa is delicious!  My boyfriend raves over the beef fajitas & they are great!!  I had the shrimp stuffed alvacado, it was fantastic!  The wait staff is friendly and they were quick to fill our drinks.  The place is always busy, yet it is always a pleasure eating there.  I would reccomend Alicia's to everyone!!

Alicia's was one of the first restaurants I tried after moving to Cypress. I enjoyed it very much and I'm pretty picky about my mexican food. The location is great and I love sitting outside when I go there. Its a good place to go with the whole family!

I visited Alicia's for the first time before they built their new (and beautiful!) establishment. I didn't think they were worthy of 5 stars because the place was not as nice as I'd expect from the raving reviews my friends had given me. After several follow-up visits at their new place, I must admit, they are totally 5 star worthy. Despite the incredible amounts of people there, they always have fast, courteous service. The food has been consistently good as well. I always stick to the beef fajitas simply because they are the best in the West! It does get noisy in there, but really, who cares? Their fajitas and tortillas make up for that. You wouldn't think a Cypress restaurant could get so "hype" in the bar area - but be warned - it does!  Just steer clear from that seating if you want to avoid the noise levels as much as possible. Friday and Saturday evenings do seem to be the noisiest in the bar area, especially if there is a game on. You have to try at least one margarita on the rocks. They are really good. After just one your toes get a bit tingly. That's my kinda 'rita!

I am not sure what all of the hype is about however I will give the owner/visionary credit for catering to the palates of the patrons and very efficient and courteous service. The main dishes are pretty good however I would not go so far as to say "BEST /insert entrée/ I HAVE EVER HAD" the sides (rice, beans & pico) and salsa are bland. IMHO they are a bit pricey for what they serve but if I factor in the gas it takes to get to some of my favorite places in Houston proper it all probably evens out.
