    BEST OF THE BEST!

Not only do Alicia, her daughters, and her staff run a tight shop, but they are all extremely friendly!  That is a HUGE perk for me.

I work two doors down and have been coming here for years with a coworker of mine; I am an avid fan of their "Fresh Fruit and Cheese" platter for lunch; always an awesome and different array of seasonal fruit and cheese plus a delicious baghette with butter.

Everything I have eaten there has been phenomenal; always worth the price, as it is gourmet, and the gift shop, Alicia's Too, is a perfect place to browse and find some quaint gifts!

My suggestion: ALWAYS CALL AHEAD for your order; the to-go line is much quicker, or, order before the lunch rush :)

One of North Orange County's Best Kept Secret!  Okay, maybe it isn't a secret in the city of Brea, but it is a wonderful family owned business.  My aunt lives in the area and when we are feeling like some good comfort lunch food we call in an order to Alicia's. Everyone on staff is super nice and they make it a point to remember your name, and often you will have Alicia herself ring you up at the counter.

Now at first glance their prices seem a little on the high side, but when you get your packaged meal you realize that you get so much for you money.  All of their lunches come with a seasonal fruit and not one, but TWO cookies (their chocolate chip is my favorite and sometimes if you are luck you'll get one of their bars).  Also when I eat their sandwiches my biggest complaint is that they give too much meat, and to be honest that is not really a problem.

    Some of my recent orders:

Brie-anna's Sandwich (9.25) - It has turkey, apples, brie, lettuce,
Balsamic vinaigrette, all on a fresh warm baguette.  Soooo good!  I love the combo of brie and apples.  I honestly wouldn't have thought to put that together but it was sooo good.

Tandoori Chicken (8.95) - A Thursday special and you get several large pieces of chicken on a baguette with caramelized onions, tomato, cucumber, purple onion & cilantro yogurt. This is different and not real authentic, it is more like essence of tandoori, but I was entertained at the slightly different item on the menu.

Lazy Weekend Lox (9.25) - Saturday Special.  It is smoked salmon on an open-face bagel, with cream cheese, tomatoes, capers, cucumber, basil, purple onion.  Such a good way to start the weekend!!  I think of all of the things I've tried this was my favorite.  You get such a good helping of everything!!

Maddie Salad (8.95) - Wednesday Special.  It is mixed greens, BBQ chicken, corn, honey roasted peanuts, dates, jicama, tomatoes, chipotle ranch, croutons with a corn muffin. I believe that this salad was named for Alicia's daughter because these are all of her favorite things to eat on a salad.  The full size is huge.  I have a healthy appetite and I couldn't finish it in one sitting.

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY IS ALL ABOUT THE SCONES!!  They are jumbo sized and sooo good.  They also come with yummy Devonshire cream that is to die for!

    Tips:
    -  Make sure you check the day of the week because they are closed Sunday - Tuesday
    -  Call in your orders, especially if it is at high traffic times to bypass long lines

TRY THEM OUT AND SUPPORT THIS LOCAL BUSINESS! :D

The Hippie Chick is my FAVORITE!! the smoke gouda with the grilled chicken is the perfect combination!
They make a great Egg Salad Sandwich too!!!
We always get the potato egg salad in the refrigerator section!
The best part is you get 2 cookies with every order!!! :D

Alicias makes my sandwich just the way I like it. And everyone is so friendly...really, everyone. I feel like the most important customer.

The desserts are yummy, if you're splurging, and the lemony desserts have enough lemon for real lemon fans. And I like being able to combine a little salad, or some soup.

Did i mention yummy? And friendly? I drive out of my way to eat lunch at Alicias!

It's funny that I've lived here in Brea for 3 years now and finally had a chance to try Alicia's Cookery for the first time today. Wow what a great experience. Great food, friendly service and reasonably priced. I will make it appoint to stop in once a week. Great for the family and even the kids. If you haven't been there, you really need to check it out. Not to mention that the gift shop has some nice things too.

3.5 stars, but I will round up to four because I think I just didn't order the right thing. The Pink Cloud sandwich was good, but I was a little surprised that for the cost, the turkey was just processed turkey from a package rather than the real thing. The vegetable soup was good, but to be honest, it tasted just like what I make at home (maybe I make really good vegetable soup).

Some people in my office use them for catering though and they always do a great job. I had a surprisingly good gluten-free red velvet cupcake and I saw some of the food that was displayed beautifully. I am going to try them again.

Outstanding, super friendly family business. Everyday of  they week they have certain soups and sandwiches they serve that you can only get the day of (Ex: Torta Thursday), along with their everday sandwiches. At Alicia's all sandwiches are served with seasonal fruit, and two cookies...its like the sack lunch mom used to send you to school with only better! :)

    Alicia's is Brea's hidden gem!

To simply put it, Alicia's is amazing.  They take the most basic menu items (Sandwich, Soup, Salad) and add their own fresh and delicious twist.  The Pink Cloud with the potato soup is my favorite.  The cookies and fresh fruit are always an added bonus!

Hands down Alicia's has the best scones I have ever eaten!  You can buy the premade ones at the counter or you can buy the mix and bake it at home!

Her premade dinners are also great!  If you are in a jam for dinner or lunch they are wonderful to just pop in the microwave or oven.

Last but not least, they have the most amazing gift shop!  It can be a little pricey but it is a crafters dream.  So many unique pieces.

Overall, Alicia's has created a great atmosphere with a great menu.  The service is always top notch and I walk away happy everytime.

An oasis of YUM in the culinary desert of Southern California!

I'm thrilled to have found a restaurant that serves actual food instead of a pile of chemicals.  They are very thoughtful in their combination of flavors as well as presentation.

Try the breakfast burrito with machaca or the creme brûlée French toast.  The lox plate is wonderful too.  The pastries ate homemade and overly generous.  I had the cinnamon roll and while delicious, it has a bit too much almond extract or alcohol flavoring for me.

The coffee was below average.  It is so weak that you could taste the flavor of the water.  The cappuccino we bought to replace the coffee was $4.60-which is pretty pricy.

The only downside might be that you bus your own tables, but then again, that makes me feel less guilty when my toddler makes a mess.

I can't tell you how much I LOVE Alicia's Cookery!

I wish that this place was closer to me but it is right down the street from where I get my hair done at. (see review on Kalisto Salon)

I get excited when I know I will be getting my hair done because that means I can make a stop at Alicia's for either breakfast or lunch and to browse the cute little boutique they have inside!

Here are some items that I get when I stop by:

Skinny Minnie (egg whites, roma tomatoes, spinach, dijon mustard, purple onion on english muffin)

Cha-Cha Salad (baby greens, strawberries, candied walnuts, blue cheese, purple onions, with balsamic vinaigrette) SO GOOD!

Pink Cloud Sandwich (Turkey, cream cheese, cranberries on sourdough) Holy Moly....its super good!

Hippie Chick Sandwich (Chicken Breast, smoked gouda, avocado, baby greens on a wheat baguette) YUM!

Alicia, the owner is super friendly and loves to sit and talk to her customers. She always has a smile on her face. Her employees are just as friendly.

The little boutique that is attached has the cutest things. I always love to take a peek and see what they have new!

The hours here are not your normal hours.

They are closed Sunday, Monday & Tuesday and are open on Wed-Friday from 7am-3pm and to pick up "comfort dinners" from 12pm-5:30pm

    Saturday Hours are 7am-3pm

I went to Alicia's recently for the second time. I went once years ago and when I returned recently I remembered why I hadn't returned.

Their food is good which is why I gave them more than one star, but lots of places serve good food.   When I go out to eat I want more than just quality food, I expect to have a good experience. Alicia's food is delicious but when you visit there you detect this "desperate housewives of OC" aura. They make you feel like theyre doing you a favor to let you pay $10 for a sandwich. Their customer service is pathetic. You stand in a long line at least ten people deep waiting to give your order to the one and only person who can take your order. You can only pay in cash, they spit on your credit card, convenience, expense reports and write offs be damned.  You have to find your own table which are usually all filled or you can eat in the parking lot which they disguised as outdoor seating by a temporary wood picket fence which they put up and take down every day. They are only open for lunch so if you're hungry at other than the  traditional hour you're outta luck. They are also closed on Monday's so again if you need a place to eat outside of their restricted schedule of hours, tough. They also ask you to buss your own table and clean up for them, i felt that was a stretch after my wife and I spent $26 there for lunch.

Again, I give 5 stars to a place where the food is delicious but also the customer service is delivered with a smile and a perception that they are happy to serve their customers who have so many options on where to spend their money.   I'd rather take my business to a place where I feel they value their guests.  I am a business owner so I am reluctant to give a bad review but as a business owner I am keenly aware of how important customers are and how the customer experience doesn't happen by accident but must be carefully crafted to keep people coming back.   Sorry Alicia's, you add more order takers, start accepting plastic, expand your service hours and show your appreciation by wiping down tables and throwing out the trash and I think you'll be on your way.  Unfortunately you give the impression that it's your way or the highway so I don't anticipate any changes.

I'm not really a sandwich girl. I know what you're probably thinking...What's not to like about meat in between bread? Sandwiches always bothered me. I don't like cold meats and detest bread that is not toasted. So I was a bit skeptical of Alicia's when my mom suggested it for lunch one day. Now, I am a momma's girl so I couldn't say no....Boy, am I glad I listened. Alicia's is spectacular!

I arrived a bit early so I decided to place our order. We got the Brie-ana, Tuna salad and chilled cucumber soup. The Brie-ana was amazing. The turkey was fresh and the Brie was a perfect pairing. I was worried that it would be a tasteless slop but it was quite the opposite! I'm a sucker for Tuna Salad and I wasn't disappointed! I loved that they included a bit of chopped egg-it was tasty! I'll definitely try it at home. The chilled cucumber soup was refreshing and crisp, a perfect soup on a hot Summer day. I really loved that they serve all their sandwiches with fresh fruit, a lovely snickerdoodle and a brownie. We left completely stuffed!

There is a bit of a wait...but, worth every second. You have to find your own seating, so be prepared to search a bit during the lunch hour. I'll definitely be back-I heard they had a killer breakfast/brunch!

Be careful not to miss it when driving up...it's sunken down a bit and in a industrial complex. Look for the bright red umbrellas outside and your good to go!

    OH YUM!

This stuff here is really good and tastes homemade. On top of that, they make their own salad dressings AND give you TWO desserts with every order. Usually a cookie and some type of bar. Their lemon bar is THE BOMB.

I tried their Viviana salad, which was alright. I think it had too many apricots for my taste that made it really chewy to eat. I've also had their Friday turkey sandwich YUM and their Wednesday roast beef and coleslaw sandwich. Roast beef sandwich was good, but I did not enjoy the rye bread with it. It was rather hard. The cole slaw also dripped all over my hand. So beware if you're going to get it. Tasty, but messy.

I always tell myself that i'll try piece of cake, but I never do because i'm always so full after my half sandwich and cooke. =)

    Love it.

I have been going to Alicia's for years. The food is the best, Alicia seems to know how to jazzzzz up even the most simple thing. My favorite is their big fridge of togo items, freshly made daily. The Feta Pasta salad is to die for. ALL the sandwiches are great, I have never had a bad one! It is family owned and you can feel it when you walk in the door, or if you get there a little late for lunch, in the line out the door to get in.
JUST GO!! Hours are limited so call ahead, make sure they are open.
PS "Dinners to go" Great idea for a romantic picnic on a boat or something!!

My co-workers took me here today for my 25th birthday! YAY!  We phone our order in ahead of time so we can make use of our 1 hour lunch that we have. Luckily we got there at 11AM so we beat the rush.

Once again, I ordered the Cha Cha Salad and it did not disappoint! Somehow the portions seemed like it got BIGGER! I know weird huh? Maybe because I haven't been here in a while...

Anyways, it was DE-LISH! Since the strawberries were in season, they were sweet and we got a LOT of them. It filled up 80% on top of the salad! OMG I love this place. I was soo glad we went here for lunch.

What a great little place!  And talk about the power of the female business owner!  Alicia started out in 1978 in her dad's kitchen with her catering business and grew her business.  It is strictly a breakfast/lunch place, so that Alicia could be both mom and business woman.  As her daughters grew and eventually joined her business, she kept her hours so that they, too (and Alicia's other employees), could have the same advantages she had to balance work and family.  You go, Alicia!

And the food!  All fresh and all from sustainable sources!  She even grows her own herbs along the side of her building in the little non-descript strip business park.  I had her chicken pesto sandwich, which was very fresh tasting.  The French roll was crisp and soft at the same time.  Each sandwich comes with fruit AND homemade cookies.  That's my kind of sandwich!  I also got the vegetable soup.  Fresh veggies here.......definitely NOT from a can!

The inside is nice and spacious and cutely decorated but your best bet is to sit outside, which is nicely decorate like a garden, which is no mean feat for the type of building she has.  She truly has made a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

These are definitely the types of businesses that are worthy of our hard-earned dollars and Alicia has proven it for over thirty years.  This is a true hometown business from hometown people and helps us remember the days when business were community.

Fun food for the masses.. I've eatin here a many a crowded lunch's and a line out the door is worth the wait. My office is just down the street and I never if at all go out fr lunch but we will go out and pick up an order. When I order whatever that days special is I look forward to the cookie/dessert surprise in the bag. It seriously is the highlight of my lunch, lol
I will try something they have that day even if it doesn't appeal to me because 9 times out of 10 it's AMAZING and the fact that it just a little lunch shop makes it even better. Like Brea's own little yumminess!!

The bonus to eating in is SHOPPING!!! i you have been there you know for what I say..

The best lunchtime sandwich place ever! Alicia's is a quaint, neighborhood cafe that sits in a sea of business parks, ensuring a long wait during the lunch hour. I like their egg salad, but their Pink Cloud and Hippie Chick are great as well. And, I have to give props to the fresh fruit and baked goods they give you with each meal (definitely a way to ensure I come back again!).

What I've also salivated over while waiting in line to order, are their to-go meals and dinners, with favorites such as mac n cheese and well... any kind of comfort food, really. If Alicia's opened up another location that wasn't tucked away all the way in Brea, I would go to this place all the time! If you're ever that far inland or are driving by, stop by Alicia's, relax and have a great meal.

    Family owned, practically family operated.

I applaud you, Alicia and your insight, and how you've created such a wonderful establishment that people can come back to time and time again.

Couple tips, review their menu before you leave, and call your food in. This place gets packed at seemingly all sorts of times during the day.

I haven't had a uniquely stellar sandwich here. Nothing I crave and absolutely must have, but everything I've tried has been delicious. All their ingredients are fresh, almost as if they were hand-picked. Their salads are huge, and wonderfully put together.  But I never come here for salad, I come here for their sammies. I've had many items off their menu but really love their pink cloud, caprese, wasabi beef and brie-anna's sandwiches. The bread isn't as soft as I'd like but the yummy filling inside more than makes up for that.

One touch that Alicia adds to its plates is that they always throw in two desserts with your meal. Everyone gets something different: a cookie and brownie, a brownie and pastry bar, and even fruit. And please believe me when I tell you that their pastries are to die for. I once had some cranberry almond something that was so perfect, I had to get more.

Pricing here is a little hefty for me, but since I only visit once in a while, I don't mind dropping the cash.

Cute place, great food, and friendly staff?  What more could you ask for?

If you're looking for a charming, quiet lunch spot away from the hustle and bustle of downtown, Alicia's is for you.  This hidden gem serves an ambrosia of soups, sandwiches, and more for lunch- but the most delectable foods come from their catering and take-away dinners.  They have daily specials and although the hours may be tricky to work around, the food is definitely worth it.  My favorite sandwich is the #1.  Roast beef with cucumbers, cream cheese, and dill.  The chicken noodle soup is the best I've ever had, anywhere.  We've ordered the catering for many dinners and luncheons and everyone is always impressed with the presentation and taste of the food.  The location is unique and they've managed to make a business complex feel like a country outing.  Wildflowers and fountains contribute to a great sensory experience and they grow fresh herbs on-site.  Finally, check out the boutique for some fun, unique gifts.

I'm not a huge sandwich person.  I think it has something to do with my ambivalence toward bread.  I adore the sandwiches at Alicia's though, they are so good!  My friend, Sylvia, got me to try the Pink Cloud (turkey, lettuce, cream cheese, & cranberry sauce) and I was hooked.  The sandwich sounded a little weird, but it is so addictive.  I usually stop here on the way to or from the Brea mall.

Alicia's is open for breakfast (more extensive meal on the weekend) and not open for dinner.  If you order ahead, however, you may enjoy a delicious homemade-type filling meal.  Our kitchen was being made over and Alicia's saved us when we were in desperate need of real homey food.

I like Alicia's so much, I suggested my friend use them to cater her wedding brunch!

The food and service here is great! There is always a line to order, but it is worth the wait. They have freshly made soups, salads, and sandwiches here. What's even better is that your meal comes with treats like cookies, bar cookies, brownies (It varies each time you come) and fresh fruits.

They have special sandwiches and salads on certain days of the week. I've tried the Maddie Salad (available on Wednesdays only) and it has mixed greens, BBQ chicken, corn, peanuts, and tomatoes with chipotle ranch. It also comes with a corn muffin. I've also had their Grilled chicken Caesar Salad (available Tuesdays) and that was good as well. You can definitely taste the dressing. That comes with a poppy seed roll which I'm not a fan of. I've also had their Basic Turkey Sandwich which has cheddarella cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, season mayo and is served on wheat bread. I add on bacon to my sandwiches so it has even more flavoring.

They have freshly made deserts that are something you have to try. Their red velvet cake is moist and to the taste. I have a sweet tooth and man.... this place definitely fulfills my requirements for yumminess.

Overall, A healthy choice and delectable :)

Oh, and when you're done eating, you can go in their gift shop which has a bunch of neat things.

For a while now I've heard of this lunch spot in Brea that was a total babe magnet.  I kept it at the back of my mind to visit at some point.  When I tried, the first time, I found that it was closed on Mondays.  Booooooo!

I did try again, this time on a Thursday.  Let me tell you.  This place IS a babe magnet.... But the babes here are a good bit older than I prefer and no longer qualify for the cougar moniker.  Mountain Goat may be more appropriate people.  I mean, literally there were two guys in the restaurant.  Me and my hated enemy David M. Behar.  That. Was. It.  Apparently to attract such a strong crowd all you need to do is put up a picket fence, some doilies, plants and sprinkle estrogen all over the place in copious amounts and VIOLA!!!!!  Blue haired ladies.  All over!

It really scares the livin' S#!+ out of me, fellow yelpers.

The food is good.  I imagine that if my mom was good at making a sandwich then she would make it the way the fine ladies at Alicia's do.  I recommend the chicken pesto sandwich.  It's made with babies, chicken and hubris on a french roll.  So good!  Seriously.

They give you a couple of treats as desert, generally.  If you're diabetic and would rather not die, ask for fruit or something that won't cause you to go into shock.  Nothing chaps my hide more than people who go into food comas in restaurants.  That's just gross.

But overall the food is really good.  The nice ladies are really sweet and pretty much hate my guts.  Go here.  Take an old broad home.

One of my favorite places for lunch!  My favorite salad is the Maddie Salad served on wednesdays.  I love the dates and spicy salad dressing.  I crave this salad all week... Favorite Sandwich is the #9, the hot roast beef sandwich.  It's almost like a french dip with sharp cheese, green chilies and a roasted tomato.  Love this! During the summer that offer cheese strips which taste like nachos with a sweet enchilada dipping sauce.

Must try their catering, breakfast ( Creme Brulee french toast), deserts and reasonably priced dinners to go ( a full coarse meal)

A quaint sandwich shop that is always busy during lunch, probably due to the fact it is located in a business district. There is always a line, from when you walk in to when you leave. However, the size of the place accommodates for the crowds since there are a number of tables inside and out. You order at the counter, and your meal is served to you in a rectangle type basket with a side of fruits, a cookie, and another baked good. (You can always take the goodies home since there are baggies at the utensils counter.) The side goodies seem to play a factor into the price since the sandwiches ranged from 7-10 bucks, but the sandwiches themselves are unique with quality ingredients.  I love the Brie-Anna, due to my love for brie. However, the bread was a bit tough, not enough crunch on the outside and softness in the inside for my liking.

Since the place is always busy, they ask you to bus your own tray which is fine by me. However, there were no recycling bins for my Izze bottle so I have to dock them a star. It's all about being green.

Favorite neighborhood breakfast place for our family during weekend, the food is fresh and also the staff treat guest as family.  The portion is large but we would not recommend kid's menu.  Kid's menu needs some improvement.

    Alicia,
I'm sorry that I've never given you the attention you deserved.  I mean living in brea for 10 years and driving by your place all those times and never visiting was truly unforgivable. But only now that I'm older and wiser I'm truly able to appreciate what beauty and savory you posses. I hope that I've finally made amends by making your acquaintance now. The loveliness of your patio area with the abundance of flowers and patio umbrellas was mesmerizing. While I can lush upon your outer beauty, I was much more impressed with your inner ability. Your delicate desserts and delightful sandwiches have drowned my thoughts ever since our encounter. Ohh Alicia how foolish I was not to know of your brilliance before.  We have so much to share to make up for time lost.  I've moved away but I won't let the distance come between us now. I'm too committed.

    Your secret admirer,
    Mitchell

I tried this place for the first time last Saturday and I fell in love with it.  The food is absolutely delicious.  Since it was our first time and we weren't familiar with the portion size or the extras included with our sandwich, we over ordered.  In addition to our own sandwiches, we bought a slice of red velvet cake and a banana scone.  YUM!

I ordered the Veggin Eggplant and my boyfriend ordered the Lazy Weekend Lox so that we could give each other the  other half of our sandwich for a tasting.  Both sandwiches were absolutely delicious.  The Veggin Eggplant was overflowing with fresh, tasty veggies. YUM.  The Lox sandwich was excellent.  I usually find this type of sandwich a little salty at other restaurants, however, it was perfect at Alicia's.

We were sooo stuffed from the sandwiches that we weren't able to try the desserts later on that evening.  The red velvet cake was to die for.  It was delicious and moist.  I LOVE the walnuts added onto the cream cheese frosting. YUM!  The banana scone was excellent as well!

I don't live or work close by AND my schedule doesn't really work with their hours of operation but I'm definitely going to make it a point to come back and try the other menu items (especially breakfast).

Oops... I was soo caught up on the food that I failed to mention the service.  The staff was extremely friendly and attentive.  We were asked twice whether or not we wanted refills on our ice tea.  We were also fortunate enough to chat with Alicia herself.  She came out and struck up a conversation with me and my boyfriend. =)

Wow.  Second trip to Alicia's.  The first time I got the standard turkey sandwich which was good and all, but this time I went a bit less traditional and ordered the "La Familia" which is a pork loin sandwich with chipotle mayonnaise.  SO very good.  Came with a tasty little macaroni salad and a crumb cake.

SIGH.  True comfort food.  The staff are all really attentive and friendly.  I can't remember enjoying a sandwich that much in ... I don't know when.

They also have Dublin Dr. Pepper in the bottle which for the uninitiated is from one of the few remaining bottling facilities to still use cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup.  A bit pricier, but I'll pay the difference.

Hours are one pf the only issues, as they close by 2:30 pm every day, so dinner is out, though they DO cater which gives you an excuse to throw a party!

All I can say is I am glad I don't live close by or I would probably eat here everyday.  My mom and I got two different things for lunch and shared so we could try them both.  Everything we got was excellent! Can't wait to go back!!

This is a family owned business with unique soups, sandwiches and salads.  And the desserts... YUMMY - ABSOLUTELY TO DIE FOR!!!  The place is SUPER BUSY ALL THE TIME but the staff is always friendly and patient.  They also offer HOMEMADE Take-Out Dinners which are FANTASTIC!!!  They put out a dinner menu every month and I kid you not, you could eat here every day and not get bored with dinner.  And the prices are CHEAP!!! Under $11pp for your Salad, Entree, Veggies, Starch and DESSERT!!!

One more thing to note:  They have an AWESOME GIFT SHOP!!!  Be prepared to browse after lunch and I guarantee, you won't be disappointed.

If I could give Alicia's more than 5 stars, I would!!!  I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!

I love this place! Everything is fresh and homemade. The specials come with fruit and baked goods. Their desserts are delicious. Old folks tend to frequent this place, but I've noticed that they know a good thing when they see one. I am also a fan of Polly's Pies and Arthur's- maybe I'm an old soul, or maybe I know when food tastes really fucking good.

They also have to-go dinners available. Get the calendar that comes out the first of the month and you can call in and order an amazing home cooked meal for only $11.50. Tonight's dinner is Swiss steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, greens with marinated veggies, glazed carrots, and a rice krispie treat.

The menu is on http://www.aliciasinc.com... and no, I don't work there.

I phoned in an order for pickup to have lunch with the hubby.  I ordered him a Hippie Chick and I ordered a Hot Ham sandwich for myself... My ham sandwich was one of the best I've had... it had green chiles, which I thought would be odd, but it turned out really good.  The husband loved his sandwich and thought that for a place that makes sandwiches this was pretty darn good.  He already knows what he wants to try next time I go there to get him lunch.

Absolutely fantastic!  Alicia's is right up the street from my work and I usually go on Fridays for their Potato Cheese Soup and High-Riser turkey sammie because it is ambrosial.  It is a little pricey but the portions are ample and the staff is delightful.

Other menu items that are bangin': Oriental Chicken Salad, Coochie Salad, White Albacore Tuna Sammie, and the Sinfully Delicious Cheesy Bread.

End of hunger pains, feel them drift away, Alicias satisfies your hunger.  A sandwich is a sandwich, right?  F that.  Alicias is my style of sandwich joint.  They have an awesome menu with creations to blow your mind.  They are tucked away in a little business type complex in Brea.

It is apparent that every sandwich is made with top notch ingredients by way of  meat, cheese, fresh bread, and quality vegetables.  I eat like a pig and have the appetite of someone who is suffering from morbid obesity.  Yet, the sandwich still fills me up, but in that good satisfied way.  Not the bloated, Mexican food, accidentally crap your self way.

I have had and love all their sandwich's. My current favorite is called "Brie-anna's". It has: smoked turkey, green apples, brie cheese, lettuce, balsamic vinaigrette on a baguette.  I love this F'n sandwich.  The sandwich's don't run 5 dollars for a foot long.  So what.  They are worth well worth the money.  The sandwich noted above runs for $8.95 and worth every penny.

The place is packed for lunch.  I mean really packed.  I have never actually dined inside.  I always call in  ahead to place an order for pick up.  Give it a shot, you will not regret it.

    Very truly yours,

    GuyLaDouche

Great place.  Large indoor and good sized outdoor seating.  Creative sandwiches like the "Wasabi Roast Beef" make this place really special.  They have fresh ingredients that you can taste.  Their soup of the day changes but today I had the "roasted pepper" soup.  It was sweet, creamy and delicious.  I had the Wasabi roast beef on squaw bread and was very pleased with what I got.

Despite the predominantly female clientele, I can assure the men out there that they give you a good sized portion.  I would recommend getting a whole sandwich and a soup.  It comes with a couple of pieces of fruit and two desserts on the side.  It's a complete and fulfilling meal.

The thing is it's located in an inconspicuous strip mall in the middle of a residential area.  Hard to find unless you know where to look.

My boyfriend and I finally got to eat here today... it took us 3 tries to come at a time when they were actually open!  This is probably due to the fact that they have THE most bizarre hours I have ever seen in a restaurant.  Lets see... they are closed Sun, Mon, and Tues, open for breakfast, lunch and take home dinners Wed, Thurs, Friday, except for Sat where they are  only open for breakfast and lunch until 3:00pm... actually I'm not even sure if these are the correct hours, but its something close to this and all I know is that if you have any hope to ever eat here, you better keep in mind that they don't have very conventional operating hours.

My boyfriend was raving on and on about this place... I liked it, but I don't think it deserves the cult following that he made it seem like it had.  We ordered a sandwich combo which comes with a side of fruit and 2 cookies, 2 large vegetable soups, a slice of chocolate cake, a bag of chips and 2 iced teas which came out to $32. THIRTY TWO DOLLARS.  That's like a tank of gas... or half my monthly cell phone bill... all for cake, soup, and a sandwich.  The food was good, but definitely not worth forking over 2 hours worth of me sitting behind my computer pretending to be working.

I did give 5 stars because the food is extremely fresh, good quality, the decor is nice, and the service is really fast.

    Awesome scones...  THE Best!!

Sandwiches, salads, and lunch dishes are exceptional.  Quality food put together with pride.

Only thing:  I'm usually one of the only guys if I go there.  It's kinda wierd, but you'd think that all they do is watch Bravo on TV and eat quiche all day.
