To the straight men out there who enjoy a delicious brunch (or perhaps afternoon pot-o-tea): Do not be ashamed. I challenge you to brave the girly Wonderland themed interior and the predominantly feminine clientele and reward yourself with a buttery Cheddar, Ham, and Chive savory scone. Or perhaps you'd enjoy salmon Eggs Benedict over a sun dried tomato, feta and basil scone. Or maybe your sweet tooth could be satisfied with a mixed berry scone with clotted cream and homemade preserves. Fancy a caramel chocolate chip? We won't judge.

But at the end of the day, if you can't convince your bros to join you, I can guarantee this place will be a hit with the girls and Mom. So feel free to use us as an excuse (or cover) to indulge.

Me, a book, a pumpkin scone, a pot o tea...heaven. It was a rainy afternoon and I found myself needing to finish up the Hunger Games book & have a snack before my dinner date with a friend.

I got there about 4:30pm (Sunday), waited 5 minutes for a table, and was seated. I was there about 90 minutes - the first 30 felt like I was in the Disneyland Annex...little girls and moms with the whole nine yards of princess garb, screaming/whining (it was definitely that kid bewitching hour that always ends in screaming) while the parents paid the bill. Once those kids left, it was a whole other experience. Everyone peacefully having tea, scones, chatting - it was a lovely way to spend my rainy afternoon! I'll be back!

*to not get a pumpkin scone = SIN...mmm. just trust me!
*if you're not a tea connoisseur, do a little reading on here to see what people recommend - the list is overwhelming!

This brunch spot is really endearing!
The wait was long but it was worth it!
Do NOT skip out on their scones and tea.

Bring out your inner alice, put on your cheshire cat smile and your mad hatter hat and go have yourself an adventure. =)

What a cute place! During my trip to New York, my friend and I were meeting with her sister for brunch. We originally wanted to go somewhere "brunchy" but her sister recommended this place. And I was glad she did - this was a fun and unique experience.

When we got there, we only waited about 15 minutes. It was fun looking at all the knick knacks and Alice themed merchandise. The restaurant area is pretty small, and you're likely to sit in a slightly cramped manner if you have a few people in your party.

During our visit, I had their veggie sandwich, 2 scones, and a tea. All of the food and scones here were very delicious - fresh and tasty sandwich, delicious scones, and great tea. The tea pots that they serve here are very cute and I like that they customized it a bit (or so it seems) with rubber bands and a sponge. When we first saw the sponge at the tip, we thought it was odd but once we noticed that it stopped the tea from dripping off the tip, we thought it was genius. The sandwich was very tasty and I don't usually like scones, but their scones here are very good - fluffy, tasty, and I couldn't stop eating them.

If you are looking for tea ...this is the spot.  Very cute with Alice in Wonderland references and very eclectic decor.
One negative was our table which was an old shadowbox end table converted to dining.  You needed to be a child (or child size) to fit your legs under the table.
As it was our first time I would have liked a little better service in the way of explaining their unique menu items like "mad hatter"  We had ordering envy when we saw the presentation that other diners got when we just ordered soup and sandwich.   The excuse may be that it was a busy rainy Saturday,

I wish i knew about this place long ago!

This is such a cute place with wonderful sandwiches and delicious scones. They offer quite a list of wonderful teas and coffee too.

I attended a bridal shower here and I must say that they were so accommodating and SO friendly! It really was such an amazing time!

I definitely would recommend this place to any tea lovers !!

So...seeing as there are already several hundred reviews there probably isn't anything I am going to say that hasn't already been said. However, this spot was new to me and I was very impressed with the quality of their offerings.

The scones were out of this world!! Light and flaky and huge!!! I had a savory scone and a sweet scone. Yum!! I also got to try the eggs Bendicty scones with the chicken potato hash (all this eating happened in more than one visit!)

The tea was great. I had staff recommend my tea choices. I told them what I liked an they brought out their best. I enjoy tea with milk and sugar and they were able to bring selections that tasted wonderful. Besides their awesome tea choices the staff was, in general, extremely pleasant. I enjoyed the conversation and the recommendations.

I came in here very early, so I did not have to deal with any wait and service was quite prompt. If I make it back to New York I will make this will be on my list of places to visit!!

I went here once in the evening for a light dinner, and I would not suggest doing that. Although it's open till 6 or 7, they definitely do not have "dinner" food, and I was pretty disappointed when I left. That being said, if you are looking for a light snack in the mid afternoon, they tea is really great, and scones are delicious, and the sandwich I had, while small, was pretty scrumptious. Decor is pretty unique and it's definitely a fun little place to check out.

I love afternoon tea, but I was disappointed with Alice's Tea Cup.  We had the Mad Hatter service.  I had a salted caramel scone and a bite of a few finger sandwiches as well as some cookies.  I thought everything tasted very average.  I think it is way overpriced for the quality and the amount that you get.  Having said that, the place is cute.  May be good for kids, but not connoisseurs.

I wish there was an Alice's Tea Cup in LA!!! This place is so cute and different!

We ordered "The Madhatter" for 2, which was $37. And although it seems like a small amount of food, it's pretty filling. You get 3 scones, 2 kinds of sandwiches (that come in 3 pieces each), a choice of dessert (that we never got to because we were already stuffed), and 2 pots of tea of your choice (they have a large selection of teas).

Scones are so yummy, especially with their homemade jam and creme. They also have a ham & cheese scone! I've never hear of a ham & cheese scone, but it was yummy! The pumpkin scone was also delicious. However, the banana & caramel scone wasn't as moist and was a little hard.

The smoked salmon sandwich was a little fishy, but still good. The tuna sandwich had a strong mustard taste to it, which I didn't like too much.

We ordered the lemon tart for dessert, but had to take it to go because we couldn't eat any more. I ate it later on in the day and boy was it filled with lemon flavor! It made my face pucker a little bit haha. The cookies that also came with the tart were ok. Nothing special and a little dry.

As for the tea, we had the English Breakfast tea and it was ok. Had better ones before. You can also buy the tea per ounce, if you really like it.

It may seem like I didn't enjoy much of the food, the place still deserves all 5 stars because the decor was unique, the service was great, and it's just a positive experience overall. Totally worth a try!

Best scones, hands down; and a great place to take your little girl.

W and I took our daughter here for a magical experience, and it was exactly that. Complete with fairy wings and pixie dust, they treated my daughter like royalty. The three tiered tray of scones, cheesy eggs and fresh granola with yogurt was oh so good!  As stated the scones are perfection.

Teas are rather good, and there is an endless selection. On top of the great food, the service here is very nice and friendly.

Think we have found a new family tradition for our annual trips to the City.

This is more of a 3 1/2 stars...round up round down?

My bestie and I stopped by for afternoon tea and we were prepared for the usually inevitable long wait so we took a walk and had a quick bite around the corner someplace else. You leave your cell number, they call you and you're seated, so it's efficient.

Coming back it was literally a mad house in there. It's got a tiny storefront area, with many people waiting (not sure why...considering it's a pretty long wait to just, stand there). Every table was full, and at this time birthday party in the back. Little girls in pink tutus, fairy wands, the whole she-bang. And literally, running all over the place.
Last comments on the atmosphere: 1. table next to bathroom/waiting area, not so much and worst seat ever 2. i'm trying not to judge but a tea party for 6 year olds? I guess Alice's top clientele would be in the 6-10 year old arena...

And honestly, not even because of the little girl extravaganza in the back, but it was crazy loud in there. I couldn't hear people's conversations directly, but all combined it created this kind of unexpected din. My bestie was surprised too, because for a small room it sounded like a cafeteria.

The tea selection is  solidly good with numerous options, and I chose one of the berry-flavored types. I had two scones with it, pumpkin and blueberry, and also we ordered a carrot cake. While those cakes look enticing (just like that little bottle Alice took a sip from), I think you should ...stay away. It was sugar overload, way overboard, and it had that sickeningly sweet flavor that makes you stop eating it altogether. But! Scones were delicious, no complaints, tea had the loveliest fragrance like berries and a meadow of flowers. I thought I wouldn't finish one of those generously sized scones, but I ended up finishing 1 1/2.

It is fun to just stop by once and check it out considering there's so much mad hatter chatter about the place.

I'm a tea fanatic and I love going to places that I can enjoy blends that I could never imagine.  Alice's Tea Cup definite has that quality.  Things like Kashmiri Green Tea Chai with Almonds, Alice's Tea (Indian black tea w/Japanese green tea and rose petals).

We got the Mad Hatter Afternoon tea.  Everything we got was delicious.  My favorites were the pumpkin scone and the black forest ham & gruyere.

Cute, quaint place with friendly staff who are very helpful.

    Cute place with great scones!

Just like Alice in wonderland, afternoon tea portions here are super-sized - giant scones, sandwiches, cookies and cakes.

At other afternoon tea places, I would usually order one for myself, but here my friend and I decided to share one order of "The Mad Hatter" and make it for two for an extra 8 dollars.
That turned out to be the right choice, since I was stuffed by the time I had my share of sandwiches and scones! Fortunately, they gave me a pink paper bag to stash away leftovers for later. My favorite flavors for the scones were the chocolate strawberry and pumpkin.

The only issue I had with portions being bigger was that I couldn't try as many flavors of sandwiches, compared to other places where they would serve 5-6 different types of bite sized sandwiches.

Also, if you want to enjoy quiet tea time, DON'T come here during after school hours, especially on Fridays or weekends where Alice's Tea Cup becomes a playground for kids.

Overall, it's an interesting place to check out, but the tea and scones are probably the only things I would come back for.

Kid friendly - good thing?  bad thing?  Not so good if you don't like kids, or don't want to drink tea with a bunch of unruly kids around.  Great if you want to take unruly kids with you, yours or otherwise.  Maybe you need a place to go with your friends unruly kids where you will not be embarrassed to return to afterwards.

I don't know, but what I do know is I could suffer through other peoples kids to eat the scones here again.  The tea is wonderful, other menu items ok. 1 down side, scones not served with clotted cream - only whipped cream - 10 yard penalty.

I really liked the UES one, but I think I like this one a lot better! The service here is just as awesome as the service at the UES one, but this one just seemed roomier. I didn't feel like I was a part of the group of people at the table next to me.

Their scones are awesome as usual. And this time, I had the fruit and tea-infused granola with vanilla yogurt for brunch. I thought this was going to be a small dish, so my sister and I got this along with our 2 scones and a pot of tea. And let me tell you, it was a LOT of food. We definitely were not expecting all of that, so it was a nice surprise. The fruit was so fresh and good, and the granola was interestingly good :)

I would definitely go back to this one!

Alice in Wonderland + Tea Time = FANTASTIC!

    I've been here four times.
I've eaten, drank, and was charmed out of my mind four times.

I know I'm setting the bar high here, but it's so quirky, funny, and just fun with little details that it's really a great place to dress up funky, go have service from girls wearing faerie wings, and eat scones as big as your head.

To start from the beginning: Alice's Tea Cup is true to it's name.  Murals on the walls that follow right into the bathrooms of various characters in Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass are everywhere.  Allusions in the menu (Mad Hatter Tea/Jabberwocky, etc) to characters also appear throughout.  They've done quite a bit to work the theme of quirky in and it's just a happy marriage from start to finish.

While they do offer normal "lunch type" food, I've never done it.  I've always gone and pigged out on their tea fare.  I have always, with the exception of a crazy birthday party I attended here, had the Mad Hatter.

They don't have a wide variety of teas, they're all unique blends for that particular region, i.e. Asian, African, as well as types (Darjeeling, Green, Black, etc.)

The scones - THE SCONES!  By far the best part of the meal!  Bigger than your fist with ever-changing flavors.  Hot and delicious and generous and NOM NOM NOM.

They also offer Custom Cakes to take out which are beautiful but I've never tried.  I couldn't imagine purchasing one and carrying it all over NYC and/or driving with it back to NJ, where I lived.

This is an absolutely ideal venue to have a party for a little girl while in the "Princess" phase.  The waitresses will sprinkle "faerie dust" on them and it's really just a magic space.

(Although 28 year old guys like myself may succumb and just find this place quirky and charming.  :)     )

Not sure why this place is supposed to be so great.  Maybe I went on an "off-day" but it was actually pretty disappointing.

Service was slow and not particularly friendly.

The food was meh - nothing to write home about - especially for the prices they charge.

I love tea, scones, sandwiches, etc.... but had way better than at this place. It's sad because I was really looking forward to it and wanted to like it.

I can't believe that it has been 10 years since my last visit to Alice's Tea Cup! Despite the fact that I live in this neighborhood and I walk past this cute little shop all the time, I never had the urge to walk in again... until this morning.

Let me talk about my last visit... My husband and I went there for afternoon tea on a Saturday in 2002. It was very loud and vibrant inside. I have to admit that both of us were intimidated by the huge size of the scones.  It was not the type of afternoon tea I had expected. We got so full just by looking at the scones, not to mention the other finger foods.

Anyway, I went there for breakfast this morning. I arrived around 10:30 am, and it was already packed. It was still as loud and vibrant as my last visit. I ordered vegetarian egg white omelet, and a pot of Alice's tea with two scones. The omelet was very delicious. Alice's tea was aromatic and not too strong. I was happy with both choices.

And, again, I was intimidated again when my scones were served. Each one was bigger than my fist! But I had decided to just enjoy myself and take whatever I couldn't finish home.

The scones I picked were ham & cheese and nutella chocolate. The salty one was not too salty, and the sweet one was not too sweet, so I guess it was healthy. Also, I found the scones a bit too dry.

The waitress was attentive and cheerful. Overall, I think I enjoyed it better than last time, partly because I had managed my expectations, partly because of the more "grown up" crowd in the morning.  I hope it won't take me another 10 years for my next visit.

So here's my first review.  I heard about this place from other people who have tried it and raved about the scones.  So I picked it as my place for a Sunday brunch.  If you're  not looking for it, you might walk right by without knowing.  It looks like a small little shop at first; in fact first thing you see in the store is the gift shop.

The place is entirely based on Alice in Wonderland so it is definitely kid friendly.  I know people who have birthday parties to bridal showers there.  So the wait when we got here was a hour long for Sunday brunch.  Didn't mind the wait and they would call your cell once it was ready so you don't miss it.

Once seated we got two menus, one tea list and one brunch menu.  At first glance, I didn't know which tea was best so it was recommended by others that I try the Alice's tea.  Ordered the 2 scones/small tea with eggs benedict.  Scones were tasty indeed, I recommend getting the blueberry and buttermilk (classic!).  Scones were huge! For the tea, it was amazing.  I didn't even need the egg benedicts with hashbrowns.  The scones were filling enough.

It's crowded in there but not too crowded where you're hearing everyone's else conversation.  When we were there, there were many kids enjoying the atmosphere of Alice in Wonderland.  It's true, the place does a great job in trying to make it kid friendly (decorations, paintings), while still delivering amazing food.  Strongly recommend this place.

Went here on a casual first date on a Sunday (it went great, thanks for asking!). I'd never been, but it was worth the 30-minute wait. They don't take reservations for two people, but we were able to take a walk without losing the table. Not always something you can count on, especially from places like this!

It's definitely a little girl's dream, but not as cramped a space as I imagined it'd be. The service was good and fast, and they didn't rush us out after we finished eating and were just talking. I had the open-face smoked salmon sandwich, which was simple but delicious. The field greens on the side had some really yummy dressing, I have to say! We ordered a 3-cup pot of tea, but it had enough for more like 5 cups, so don't feel the need to up-size! I was pretty impressed with the selection of teas, and would definitely come back just for that. At the end, we shared a rather large chocolate cupcake--for $3, it's a better deal (and is slightly better) than a Magnolia Bakery cake. Not terribly expensive for all of it, either, and by 5:30-6, it's cleared out enough that it's a cozy spot to talk and relax. Worth a visit!

It was the perfect romantic rainy autumn afternoon in Manhattan and after hours of enjoying the sights, we happened upon Alice's and couldn't wait to get through the door. Nestled on a pretty tree-line street with several hip thrift stores, you will have to look for it or you could easily miss it.

We sat down and immediately knew we would share pots of the rose tea melange and organic snow buds. Both were amazing and made us feel all warm and cozy inside. Lots of artful, happy decor makes this a wonderful place to meet with your lady friends for afternoon tea, breakfast or lunch. Angel wings and storytelling for the children and I think the guys will like it too.

When it comes to Tea and scones, Alice's Tea Cup is a fantastic option.  While the fairy-tale princess decor can leave a man such as myself feeling somewhat emasculated, the embarrassment is well worth the pleasure of sinking your teeth into a pumpkin scone.  If you're really lucky, they just might have a chocolate chip salted caramel scone--your life will never be the same if that happens.

As for tea, there are simply too many options too choose from.  I tend to settle with a Chocolate Chai, a brew I find warming and appropriately bold, but many other options are great as well.

While I often see hordes of women (and little girls) enjoying the full tea-time experience (complete with bite-size sandwiches), it's not really necessary.  For $10 you can get yourself a small pot of tea (3-4 cups) and 2 large scones that will leave you more than satisfied, even if you're a man being forced to sit amongst girls in pink princess dresses.

Falling down the rabbit hole and having a mad hatter tea party while stuffing yourself with scones benedict is a must here. Be sure to take the wrong detour; that's half the fun!

The scones benedict is outstanding, not least of all because the ham and cheese scones is perfect (though it's really more of a biscuit in all but name). Perfectly poached eggs sit atop it with the slightest hint of hollandaise sauce. Equally worthy is the chicken hash, which is not a hash at all but home fries and some of the best chicken.

Also noteworthy is the mango scone - not overly sweet or dry and more of the typical American scone many of us are used to. Plus, it's super yummy with tea. I HIGHLY recommend the rooibos bourbon. Hints of vanilla and bourbon waft your way in this never-get-bitter kettle.

Cute decor and quotes along the walls make for wonderful reminders of a childhood classic. Get here before 10am (maybe even closer to 9) to get a table without a wait. Then enjoy falling down the rabbit hole.

Alice's Tea Cup is so cute. Pretty much everything about it is great but the food. My two friends both got scones and I got  crepes. So. Disappointing. The scones were very nicely displayed but my crepe were just two little rolls on a plate... and it didn't taste much good either. I've made better crepes myself.

I took my daughter here on our last trip to NYC.

We got the Mad Hatter option which includes two types of tea, two sandwich options, 3 types of scones, and cookies of course.

We got the BLT and the Black Forest Ham. Both were really good. Just enough to not be super full but not leaving us hungry.

The scones we picked were chocolate and orange, mixed berry, and ham & cheese. The chocolate and orange was to die for! I loved it with a bit of clotted cream. The mixed berry was eh... The ham & cheese was for my boyfriend, he said it was dry and we couldnt find any actual ham in it.

My daughter got a pb&j sandwich, I mean you cant really mess that up. It was good.

Over all it was cute but just ok. If my daughter wants to go back we will but I wont be making the trip willingly next time I'm in NYC.

Its cute and good to do at least once.

This place is a girly girl's wet dream. It's exactly what grown-up tea parties should be like. From the outside it didn't look like much, but once you're seated inside, the mismatched china and cushiony chairs fit the theme perfectly.
I had the grilled veggie sandwich, which was PHENOMENAL. The portobello, zucchini and tomatoes had all soaked up so much flavor, topped off with goat cheese. My friend and I each had a pot of tea. I'd recommend sharing a pot if you can agree one what you both want, because those teapots hold a LOT more than you'd think.
Definitely recommend checking this place out (if you are a lady) - it's a perfect venue for girl's brunch, but if your man brings you here for any reason whatsoever, then that's a dealbreaker.

I used to love going to Alice's Tea Cup, but I think I need to find some place new to go.  I don't know how they do their seating  but when I was there with my friends last week, we ended up waiting for over an hour.  Even after everyone got there and we saw an empty table, they kept us waiting for this other table to leave.  Didn't quite understand that.  At least the food is consistently good there and no complaints about that.  We usually share the Mad Hatter for two and it is a lot food.  By the time it's time for dessert, we usually can't finish!  My only suggestion is, if you want to go with a group, make sure everyone understands you have to be there in order to be seated, you can't just show up after everyone else and sit down to eat.  Also, you can't make reservations unless it's a group of 6 or more and everyone HAS to order the tea service.  Can't order anything else (something else I don't understand).  This is a fun place to go, especially if you have kids, but not sure I have the patience anymore.

The cookies here are ok, but nothing to go bonkers over.

A magical little place where one can feel like royalty.  Sipping exotic, full-bodied, flavorful teas whilst nibbling on scrumptiously savory, fruit-filled scones, Alice's Tea Cup Chapter I, is a dainty, dream-come-true of a place.  For any girl who likes fairytales, princess-inspired, frilly things, and the color pink, this is your playground.

A girlfriend of mine hosted a small gathering here some time ago, and we were put into the private, "raspberry room", and given unlimited teas, small gourmet sandwiches, and assorted baked goods, such as cookies, muffins, and scones.  On decor, this place gets a 5 out of 5.  It's absolutely charming and full of character.  The tableware is adorable, from the tea kettles, to the dessert plates, it is was all so undeniably enchanting.  On service, Alice's also gets high marks for its wait staff being attentive, helpful, and cheery to boot.

Now, with all this positive feedback, you might be scratching your head, wondering what gives with the 3 stars.  Truthfully, I just felt the value was a bit lacking especially since each person at the event shelled out over $50 (perhaps even a bit more, I can't recall the exact amount), and all we really ate, come to think of it, were decadent carbs and finger food.  Though the sandwiches were fairly good, I still think it was a bit pricey for a few hours in the private room with a limited selection -- not quantity -- of food and teas.  I think it came as a shock to no one, that many of the guests, upon leaving, and my friend's kind encouragement, took doggie bags to go of the food that was left over.  I myself, was able to take a box to go and brought some treats to another friend's house party that night.  I really want to thank Alice's for keeping the party going, but certainly not for overcharging me.

As for my friend who set up the lovely event, she's a complete doll and gets a 5 out of 5 for being the sweetest girl around!  And the best part of that night was the Hello Kitty pez dispenser and candy refill that she gave me!!  Still winning!!

    Love Alice's Tea Cup!

Great place to hang out with the girls or take kids, especially little girls.
My daughter loves it and they always appeal to her princess side by covering her in glitter and putting fairy wings on her while she is there.

All their teas I have tried are very good-my fave is the Mauritius. And I have to say, I have never liked scones before Alice's. I always found them to be very dry and boring. Not these! They are moist and every flavor I have tried is really good and unique. I think the buttermilk and pumpkin are the best, personally...

Jabberwocky was quite unnecessary. It included: 2 scones, unlimited sandwiches, pot of tea, and a couple desserts. At least we can take home the sandwiches. If you're going with the Jabberwocky deal, you should eat half of a half sandwich, so you can try all the sandwiches you want without getting full. I do have a big appetite, but when you're at such a place as Alice's Tea Cup...you...dine...gingerly with grace. No? Yes.

If you're looking to dine from the tiered serving set, I would recommend the "mad hatter"  which should probably be the right amount. The sandwich equates to a whole sandwich because they cut a whole sandwich in half. The scones are pretty filling and delicious. The desserts on the bottom tier tasted alright, nothing special.

One would come here for the experience, not so much for how great the food tastes because it's all mediocre. (Minus some of the scone selections)

Tea: A huge variety. You will definitely find one that sounds appealing. Actually, you'll probably find more than one that sounds delish.

    Sandwiches:
-Black Forest Ham and Gruyere was my favorite
-Smoke Salmon - your average smoked salmon sandwich
-Lapsang Souchong Smoked Chicken Breast was very different. The granny smith apples taste is very distinct, but it's a well balanced sandwich.
-Chopped tea egg salad was too mayonnaisey and dry for me
-Cucumber and watercress if you like a lightly flavored sandwich.
-Curried Chicken Salad Sandwich has a heavy curry flavor-so try this if you're a curry fan! Definitely not your typical green/red curry type of flavor though.

    Scones:
Pumpkin - I love pumpkin, and this was pretty good.
    Blackberry Lemon - Not a blueberry-flavored-baked-goods-fan, but this was...delicious...
Chocolate Caramel Sea Salt - Not bad, but a couple bite were enough.

Next time I will try one of the salted scones like ham and cheese.

The bathroom is neatso. Too bad there's only one. Apparently there was always a line when I went. I guess something there makes you wanna release.

The tea selection, tea pot, and the scones do justice. I would definitely come back for my afternoon scone + tea fix. Just no more jabberwocky please, too much food. This is not a place to stuff yourself. I mean..unlimited sandwiches? Of course you're going to wanna try them all!

This is a much larger restaurant than the one on the Upper East Side. The food was good, the hubby had an egg salad sandwich that looked good, daughter one had peanut butter and jelly which she ate (always a good sign) and daughter 2 had grilled cheese which she gobbled down. I had soup and half a sandwich. The soup was vegetable and it was good. I had the ham and swiss sandwich which also very tasty. We also shared a pot of the birthday tea which was delicious.

The service was pretty good, they were a bit slow in getting my credit card back to me, but otherwise a very good experience.

Oh yeah, the bathrooms were really clean.

This has been one of my favorite places in New York. The 73rd Street is the original location, which brings back fond memories of my graduate school days as well as my childhood love for Alice in Wonderland. The pumpkin scones are my favorites. I also enjoy their brunch and lunch specials. I always make a point to stop at Alice's whenever I visit Manhattan.

I visited Alice's Tea Cup today with my younger sister in the hopes of getting a close friend some dry teas that I could bring back upstate.  This place was packed, there was a 30 minute wait to sit and at the very least 15 people standing at/around the counter.  That being said I didn't have to wait nearly 30 seconds to be addressed by the friendly staff as to how they could help me.  After explaining what I was looking for they handed me a book listing all of the teas they sell by the ounce and offered to answer any questions I had and smell any of the teas I may be interested in.

The list of teas is a few pages long so it took me a moment to find what I was looking for.  After I located what I wanted another staff member helped me make my purchase as well as made me some tea and sold me a chocolate banana scone.  The scone and tea I had while walking the blistery cold streets of New York City were quite the treat.  I was very happy with the service and was very impressed with the products offered.

I would also like to point out for single men this place was crawling with women... I think I was the lone man in the place and it was packed.

Though I've only picked up tea and scones to go, this is definitely my go-to place for a quick breakfast or brunch on the UWS. Love the chocolate-strawberry scone- and the cream and jam that they include are great complemets!
