Wish I could click on 3.5 stars... It was good. They serve breakfast all day, so that's a definite plus. I had the corned beef hash, which is my default. Some might have thought that the hash was overcooked, but it was perfect for me. They don't offer English Muffins (whyyyy not?), so had a very good biscuit instead. Kitchen seemed to have trouble keeping up. Wanted to share a piece of lemon cake with hubby, but it wasn't ready (again, whyyyy?).

Definitely doesn't look like much when you past by but it was nearby the place I was staying In Forth White, waitress were friendly and food tasted authentic. However, I do believe they need to upgrade some of the furniture and perhaps do some reparations to the ceiling as the place looks a bit old and rusty inside.
Other than that, breakfast was on point and would definitely come back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Julie B.Dover, Tampa Bay, FL55181230Apr 25, 2022
OMG. Hidden gem! Cute on outside. Small on inside. Nothing fancy. But the food. OMG the food is down home cooking. The menu is 6 pages. And YES they make everything on the menu to order. Fresh and hot! Prices are very reasonable. Excellent service. Definitely recommend.

A little country restaurant with great specials.
They are fairly priced. I particularly like that their desserts are available as side items. The fried chicken had perfectly crispy skin with a not too heavy of breading. The drumstick was a little greasy but the thigh was perfect. Everything was well seasoned. The amount of food you get is awesome for the price.
We will be back since we go through High Springs often enough for kayaking and swimming.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Eric S.Longmont, CO781118Feb 27, 2022
I wanted to give this place a better rating because the food is pretty decent. But what held me back is how dirty this place is. Seriously, it's time for a remodel. I almost stuck to the floor walking around to the table, everything is dirty, the floor, walls, booths, even the ceiling. Not to mention the giant hole in the ceiling and dirt dust and cobwebs. Alice's really needs to put some effort into fixing this place up. The food and service were fine but the building and cleaning practices ruin the experience.

Alice's is a favorite local spot for breakfast. It's what my party of four came for too. The menu is basic no frills greasy spoon breakfast fare. The exterior is warmly decorated in country style and the interior is the same. This restaurant is small. I'm guessing there are about 14 tables total. If you're looking for a safe inexpensive breakfast then Alice's might be for you.
I had a western omelette with cheese grits and a biscuit. The omelette was good, the cheese grits better, and the biscuit was OK. A little buttery for my taste. The rest of my party had a variety of pancakes, bacon, etc., and everything was good. They also serve Nettles sausage here. The only complaint we had was that there was a piece of ham on the croissant that had a large fatty piece on it. Everything else was pretty solid.
Alice's parking lot is packed Saturday mornings. Get here early or late to avoid a wait.
The menus might be a little sticky from pancake syrup but the bathrooms were tidy and the restaurant is pretty clean overall.

Nothing really bad to be said about Alice's Parkside. I recently went here for breakfast and the food was pretty good, service was good and overall it was just a good time.
Showed up on a Sunday morning around 8:30 am and was seated immediately. After sitting down we took a look at the menu and decided on what we wanted. The waitress was in a hurry for some reason and kept coming up and asking if we were ready. I was seeing a friend I hadn't seen in a bit so the chatting was going on. Finally we placed our orders and the food came out pretty quick.
I got the full order of biscuits and gravy and I ordered 2 eggs over easy so I could put that on top. The biscuits were good, the gravy was good, but the sausage gravy was lacking sausage... But it was still pretty good and I did enjoy it.
For 2 breakfast meals and 2 cups of coffee it came out to be about $19 total. This was not bad at all. I don't think I would go back to Alice's but not because I did not like it, I just would go somewhere else if I had the option, but I can safely say I would recommend this place. If your doing the springs and want a quick hearty meal before being on the water, this would be a good place to do that!Helpful 12Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0 - Matt E.Troy, OH04740Mar 5, 2022Updated review
Been here 4 times. A hometown gem. Good breakfast. Great service Found it a few years back when had to take a detour off I75. Try their sausage and pancakes.

Here we are the food critic some disappointment it's pretty sad when you ordered a mushroom Swiss burger and the cheese is thicker than the mushrooms. And I guess I got the last pieces of the cook french fries that were in the basket hard crunchy Burned never again sometimes you wonder whose standards are these little mom-and-pop diner's going bye I guess if the people in their town eat the food must be OK .. NOT
PS I've owned a restaurant and been in the restaurant industry for a few years it's not hard to cook a hamburger when you order it mediumHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Camo D.Tallahassee, FL1419Apr 27, 2022
Downhome cooking. Authentic southern menu. Simple decor. Best value in High Springs.
