Wonderful cut color style and service every time! I love going to have Alice cut my hair, and have Sarah play with me in makeup color and styling.

Review from Jen S.
I'd been going to an Aveda Salon since May, where my stylist was very sweet, but seemingly unwilling to do what was necessary to keep my very short hair neat and chic - mainly, to use the clippers at the back and near my ears, and to keep a happy balance between just short enough and too short, so that my style was feminine rather than ending up sort of butch. It was a crap shoot sometimes, with regard to the butch-i-ness, and I'm not a fan of a crap shoot, so I switched salons.
I got set up with Collette at Alice 2 months go, and she nailed my haircut on the first go. I went back for cut #2 a few weeks ago, and the same thing: exact hair cut I'd asked for. She's also very kind, and easy to chat with, and both times I've left the salon very happy.
It's hard to find someone who can do hair that is short AND stick straight AND baby fine AND very thin and still make it look great, so I'm glad to have found Collette and Alice Hair Care.
Also - everyone there is just so friendly. And Kat has shampooed me both times, and she is very gentle and gets the water temp just right. No getting frozen or scalded, thank heavens.
It's a bit further than my last place, but I don't at all mind. -

I really wanted to like this salon as my first visit went really well and the price is reasonable but my second visit was horrible. Although my experience with the results of my hair were not great, everyone in the salon is extremely nice and down to earth.
First I'll give some background as to how the flow is in this place. You are first given a consultation with your stylist, then sent to get your hair washed by an assistant, then back to the stylist for the cut, then hair styled by another assistant while your stylist is already onto the next customer! I felt like I was in a hair factory...making my way down the line. Not to mention I now have to tip 3 people! I'm new to the city and this is not how it is back at home so maybe I'll just have to get used to this part.
I got my haircut both times with Emma. The first time my cut was exactly what I wanted...nice modern bob with some side-swept bangs. So on my second visit I asked it to just be trimmed up and that I liked the cut and shape of my first cut. Well, I think we had different ideas of what a trim-up is. She went to town with the razor and I came out with a completely different cut than the first time. It is not a modern looking cut...I have what I call 80's news anchor hair. I noticed the ends are all uneven after my first wash so for the first couple days I was constantly trimming little pieces. All I want to do is wear a hat...can't believe I'm wishing it was colder out so I could do so!
Again, really wanted to like this place but I will not be returning. So the search for the perfect hairstylist continues... -

Alice is some kind of Irish hair cutting goddess, let me tell you. The fact that I'm giving the place a 5 star review after waiting for over an hour (I was a little early, but still) is incredible. If you can't tell from my other reviews, I'm generally not the most patient person. Nor am I very high maintenance... I'll run a hair straightener over my hair when I'm trying to look presentable, because otherwise I look like the woman in the dilbert comics with the triangle shaped mass of frizzy curliness on her head, but generally I spend about 10 minutes on my hair. Alice singlehandedly transformed the amorphous blob of fuzz on my head to a silky bob. I'm getting a headache from tossing my head around (I can't help it!).
I HIGHLY reccomend this place. Your appointment may end up getting bumped to later (probably not, I think it's just because she was teaching stuff), but be patient, it's worth the wait. Also, 10% off as a first time customer! $75 (including tip) for a cut and a blow dry... I've paid less, but I've definitely paid more (for less). When it comes to your hair, it's worth the extra couple dollars to get something really special. -

I came to Alice's soley based on the Yelp reviews and I am so glad that I did. I went to Caroline for highlights and I love them. As in LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them. It's been awhile since I've liked my hair as much as I do right now.
I also love that Alice's is owned and operated by Irish women. Represent. -

I read the Yelp reviews. I weighed my options. I went with Alice's because of the 10% off coupon on their website.
AMAZING.
I felt glamorous. I was thrilled. I wanted to look in mirrors all day. I wanted to be out showing off my amazing hair. I had to go put on new clothes and makeup to match the fabulosity of my hair.
I am not normally a hair person.
Go here.
(Info: My cut was $70 with a 10% discount then add in tip for the stylist and the assistant). -

I walked out without any tears.
For a first time visit to a new salon, that is a big deal. My stylist had great energy. Very upbeat, made conversation, but not too much. Emma took the time to listen to what I wanted...and as a result, I love my haircut. It's growing out very nicely too. For sure, I will return to Alice.
UPDATE 12/07 **this was originally a 4 STAR review, demoted after two more visits to 1 STAR**
So, my second haircut with Emma was less than mediocre. I told her I loved the first one and could she do the same. She apparently couldn't.
I figured, I would give them another chance, for the third go, Emma wasn't available, so I booked with Hazel. I got there a bit early. I checked in...no problem, was content to wait, but wait and wait? My appointment time came and went.
And wait...and wait. Not a word from Hazel, or the staff.
After I had been waiting upwards of an hour (for real), Hazel came to introduce herself and apologize for the wait, saying there was an earlier error in scheduling and she STILL had one person in front of me. SO it would be another 20min before I was seen.
DONE. goodbye. RUDE. I will never go back.
When I said I couldn't wait any longer, no one really seemed remorseful, or wanting to make it right. Offer me a reason to stay, or come back? They didn't bother.
How do you do that to a customer? They are so meticulous about calling the day before to make sure I am going to make my appt and not inconvenience them...yet...nobody called me to say they were running an hour and half behind. How could they not tell me when I arrived?
PLUS yes, the place is small, not a problem, EXCEPT there are no windows, so the light is bad and even worse...the air is sickening. Thick with hair dye, blow dryers and other gunks. -

I came here based on the phenomenal reviews this place has on Yelp. My experience was absolutely AWFUL! I hate the idea of leaving negative Yelp reviews, but felt obligated to do so...in this case it seems almost like public service.
While at Alice, my stylist worked on someone else's hair while she worked on mine. Fine, she's busy, it's NYC, I can deal. The salon wasn't busy, however, and for $75 I wanted an actual hair cut--not a trim--which I told her. I tried to have a conversation about what I wanted but she was not having it, and insisted that I only needed the ends taken off. This is exactly what she did. I had to remind the woman to trim my freaking bangs, and when I did, she asked like I had just asked for the soul of her first born child or something. When she was done, she seriously just walked away. I was at the salon for 30 minutes total. Then, when I paid, I asked the receptionist for my coat and she told me I could get it myself?!
I'm not a princess, but I can rarely afford to go to a nice salon and so when I do, and shell out some cash, I have certain expectations. My experience here was so bad that it was surreal. -

"Hair Vagabond Finds a Salon to Call Home" :*)
I really truly adore this place. It's not just the serious haircutting/coloring/everything to do with hair skills the talented ladies at this salon have been gifted with; it's the coziness and charm this place exudes. Smiles and excellent services galore- these women keep it real and know how to make their clients feel at home. They will even offer you a drink or two to make you feel oh so comfortable. The lady next to me had a glass of wine, while I enjoyed a nice hot cup of earl grey tea while waiting for my rinse...on a cold autumn day--it was perfect.
From the initial hair consultation, through the color, cut, and blow-dry--this hair cut phobe was put at ease. I cannot say enough for my stylist Emma-- like the rest of the reviews say, she's absolutely amazing! (been going to a certain "highly yelped" styling divo, & now I've decided to skip on the 'tude/hype and will be going to my girl from now on :)). Been searching for THE stylist to give me the cut/color I've always wanted, and no one's ever come close--until now. Emma gave me perfect swingy layers, along w/ the RIGHT shade of espresso color & deep caramel highlights I thought I'd never have. So if you're looking for a great cut/color MINUS the pretense, then do yourself a favor and go to Alice's!
++anecdotes: I recommended this place to my sister (the super o.c.d w/ her hair type--sorry sis!). She booked an appt w/ Alice herself and emerged an hour later w/ the exact 'Zooey Deschanel' cut she wanted. I don't think I've ever heard her say a good word for any stylist-- until now ;) -

When I made my appointment they told me that a haircut was $50. The day of, they called me and asked if I could come earlier and that the would give me a 10% discount for my trouble. No biggie.
When I sat in the chair, I was immediately asked if I would like my hair blown dry after. Um...lets see, I'm getting a haircut, I'm not going to leave the salon with wet hair not knowing what it looks like, furthermore it's 10 degrees outside, do you think it's a good idea to got out with wet hair????
I said yes, knowing that this meant I would be spending more money. The stylist sent me to have my hair shampooed by another girl, which is standard. I had my haircut and then a 3rd person blew it dry. What?? Now I'm tipping 3 people? That was irritating.
They forgot to give me my discount and I forgot to remind them. The total came to $75, plus my 3 tips. $75 for a haircut, that's fine, I've paid more, but don't tell me it's $50 when I make the appointment. Charging extra for a blow-dry is completely ridiculous in my opinion.
I did like the haircut though....so I might have to go back! -

I was in need of a haircut and just moved to nyc.....I was going from long hair to a short bob and didn't want to skimp on this but also didn't want to end up spending $300 on a cut.
I was surprised to see that this was a pretty small place which made me feel at ease and relaxed......adding to my relaxation was the glass of white wine that was offered to me!
Another really cool thing was that most of the girls that worked there has Irish accents....something you don't hear everyday in nyc!
All in all, I really liked this place. Not too pricey but they also knew what they were doing! -

I went to Alice's based on Yelp reviews, and I loved it!
I have curly hair and am getting over a HORRIBLE haircut from about 4 months ago. My hair is in that awful-growing-out stage but Collette made it look great! She was very friendly, listened to what I wanted and offered advice on how to make my haircut mistake look better. I had a coupon and forgot it, but Collette gave me a discount anyway. I paid far less for my haircut in NYC than I did in Florida!!
The only con was that Collette had another client at the same time and I was under the dryer a little too long... but that's OK because my hair looks great for the first time in months! I'll definitely go back.
**Update: Almost a year later, and I'm still going to Alice to see Collette. I recently changed my hair color from bright, over-processed blonde to natural brunette, and Collette did a great job. My hair was damaged and needed color correction. I wasn't sure what color I wanted to be, and let Collette choose for me. She did an excellent job and I am so happy with my hair- I have gotten so many compliments! -

I wanted to love this place...So I'll say that this review is only for Alice, the owner who cut my hair, and not for the rest of the stylists!!! They seemed to be doing great. After a week now with this haircut, I have to be honest about it.
I usually have short hair, but it's long now as I'm growing it out just for fun. I'm not particularly worried about my hair getting messed up. But after two years without a haircut, and a recent change in hair color, I was looking forward to getting the opinion of a new hairdresser and seeing what awesome thing she could do. I didn't bring in pictures, because I wanted to have a chat about what I like and let Alice put in her thoughts. This did not happen.
Her assistant, Kat, shampooed my hair and discussed the color for a bit with me. She was great. Then I was put in a chair and waited for Alice...for a while. Since she was overbooked apparently, or just behind. When she came over, she was friendly and sweet, but seemed annoyed that I didn't know exactly what I wanted and wasn't in the mood to talk about it. She promptly declared that we were going to "shag it up" and if that was ok with me. I said sure, I'm all about giving the stylist some creative license.
What I got was a haircut that took about 6 or 7 minutes to do, turned out uneven and was masked by the awesome blow-out I got from Kat. I of course had to wait after that for Alice's final approval. Not until I got home and straightened it a couple days later did I see the uneven, and hasty look of it.
I would maybe go back here, but I would NOT see Alice again. I think she's made a great business, but her attitude, time, and my hair did not get along so great. -

New York, NY
I have mixed feelings about this place.
I went for a cut and gloss. The cut itself (by Collette) was a good, solid cut, but nothing spectacular.
Cons:
1. The receptionist quoted $45 for the gloss over the phone, but when it came time to pay for my cut and gloss, the gloss came out to $65. Not professional.
2. Product pushing. Collette was very sweet and professional throughout the cut and gloss, but she recommended b&b shampoos and conditioners at the end and started taking products off the shelves and describing them. She looked a little uncomfortable even doing this .. maybe pressure from management? I ended up buying the b&b shampoo because I'd been planning to, but product-pushing doesn't create the most comfortable atmosphere.
3. The haircut itself - a little too conventional for me. I'm a corporate lawyer, but don't want the haircut that goes along with being one.
Pros:
1. Good, solid cut. A litte too conventional, but grew out well and wasn't high maintenance.
2. Very friendly staff. No attitude. Warm atmosphere.
3. Flat screen TVs and DVDs -

Great hair, great atmosphere. This is not some stuffy salon where the receptionist talks down to you--this is a fun relaxing atmosphere where the stylists know hair!
After getting a terrible newscaster haircut (hello, anchorwoman) at another nearby salon, I gave Alice's a shot. Alice listened to what I wanted, advised me on how to get my hair growing out, and then placed me in a chair to do her magic. She takes her time with you and makes sure you are very happy with the results.
I only got my hair washed, cut, and styled, so my final tab was $70ish. Well worth it to not look like I belong on the six o' clock news! -

Small, quaint and completely unpretentious. Honestly, they're all IRISH!
Hazel the stylist: it'll be sooo much VERRRsatile!
It's great. Friendly staff, easy to converse/exchange ideas(about your haircut or not)...overall just a very pleasant, welcoming visit. Completely left knowin I'd come back once this tomboy hair of mine needs another trim. They only schedule you in 30 min blocks so you really can't afford to be late (i'm obviously speaking from experience! oops!). Prices not bad compared to the snootier, less qualified salons sprinkled throughout the city. (I paid $65 with 10% off for first time visiting) -

New to the city so thanks yelp for helping me find a good hair place!
Besides the haircut: The receptionist was great.(thanks for the bday discount!!) it was easy to make an appointment. Emma was the one who did my hair and she first sat down with me to ask me what i want. she was very attentive, professional, and totally understood what i wanted.
The haircut: exactly what i wanted!!! Thanks Emma:) I liked the advice on how i should deal with some annoying aspects of my hair. oh yeah: free maintenance bang trims are always a plus. I'll definitely be back. -

Best experience I've ever had getting my hair cut. Surprisingly I was able to get an appointment for last Friday calling Thursday afternoon for it. I was a little nervous since I've had many bad experiences recently with cuts and color. I went based on reviews from here and hoped I loved it..... whelp I did! My appointment was with Hazel. She sat me down and discussed what I wanted, where I had been, and what my plans were for the future cut/color before she even touched a strand of hair, this made me feel really comfortable and allowed me to trust her.
She was able to correct the horrible cut I've been growing out the last 4 months. Now I can wear it out and not all tied back! Next month I will be making another appointment to begin my color correction path.
The atmosphere came across relaxed/fun. Everyone seemed nice and each had great hair themselves. The prices are a bit high, you pay for what you get and it is worth the price. Since it was my first visit they gave me 10% off. -

I normally cut my hair less than 3x a year, because every place I go disappoints me and leaves me feeling like I paid a lot of money for a bad haircut. After reading reviews on here and other sites, I went to Alice's yesterday and Alice herself cut my hair. First of all, I started to describe what kind of cut I wanted, and she asked how much time I would maintain it. When she realized I am SUPER low maintenance, she explained to me that the particular kind of cut I wanted would really only look good if I spent the time on it. I was SOOOO appreciative that she actually gave me a consultation before making a single snip! Instead, she cut my hair in a way that still achieved the look I wanted (shoulder length, a few layers near my face) and it's an easy cut that I can blowdry for 10 minutes and still have it look great.
The salon is definitely crowded but to me that's a sign of a good salon. Everyone working there is so friendly (woman who shampooed my hair, woman who dried my hair) and I found the price ($70 before tips) very reasonable. It's also definitely a place for men to go, because there were 3 men there getting their haircut on a Friday afternoon while I was there, and they all looked great. Lots of people were getting highlights as well, so if you don't love that smell, it might be a little tricky (I don't mind at all).
I loved Alice's and am so glad to have FINALLY found a place to go! -

....nope. Never again. Sorry, but I asked for Reese Witherspoon hair and got hipster. I'm still trying to grow out the choppy, short bangs that were cut over 4 months ago. Also, whatever toner was used didn't mesh with my hair which is now white blonde vs. a rich yellow-y blonde with darker lowlights.
The last nail in the coffin is the fact that one person washes, another dries, and another cuts. Seriously guys? Seriously? THREE SEPERATE TIPS on top of an already high bill? No thanks.Listed in: East(ish) side represent!

Had I written this review 5 weeks ago after getting my hair cut there the first time, I would have given then a 5 Star review. The cut I received was superb. I brought pictures and got exactly what I asked for and didn't have to pay an arm and a leg. Flash forward to today, I call to schedule a trim with same stylist and the rather rude girl who answered the phone told me that the stylist I went to last time no longer works there. Not only that, but she was one of only two stylists there who cut mens' hair and the other one left as well so they are no longer taking appointments for mens' cuts. I asked them for a forwarding number for the stylist I used and they refused to give me one. I'm very upset.

*Men's Hair - Great Place *
I was looking for a decent place in Manhattan to get a Men's haircut. It's ridiculous for someone with as little hair as me to go to a high end salon and pay $150 for a haircut. But I also am not hapy with the standard barber shop cut. After reading the reviews on http://yelp.com, I have gone to Alice Hair twice and got a great hair cut at a reasonable price. The stylist Colette is sweet and does a great job on Men's hair. The atmosphere is relaxed but very professional. And they a very prompt so make sure you are there at least 5 min ahead of time. Overall great service, great prices, friendly faces... -

Came here on a Sunday to get my hair done before I had to go out of town for business. The fact they are even open on a Sunday is HUGE for me. I am currently traveling for business and leave Monday not to return until Friday and my weekends are packed trying to catch up, see friends and run errands.
It seems Sunday is a big secret because no one was there. I am certainly not complaining as I brought my huge suitcase in there since my next stop was the airport. They had no issues with it and let me hang out on the couch until my car service came when we were done.
Emma was my stylish and she was fantastic. We sat and talked so she could get a feel for what I wanted. Natasha was the one who washed my hair and to be honest I can see why dogs shake their leg when you hit a certain place. I have never had such a great washing. Horrible and a bit silly to say but felt oh so good.
During my haircut Emma and I chatted about products and the such. At no point did I feel pressured to buy anything. In fact, she even gave me some samples to try and see if I liked it. All together with services and tips my visit came to $70, which is a virtual steal in this city!
I couldn't be happier with my hair and will be going back to get it colored in a few weeks. I recommend this place to anyone wanting a great style and relaxing atmosphere. -

I finally remembered to come back here and post an updated review for Alice!
Vicky was my stylist for many years here at Alice, but sadly, she moved back to Ireland over a year ago. She has been missed ever since!
She did leave me in excellent hands though. I've been fortunate to have both Emma and Hazel do my cut and color ever since. They are both wonderful! They both understand exactly what I want - my highlights & low-lights are always done perfectly and my cut is done with precision. I never leave Alice feeling disappointed - I always walk out of there feeling like a glamorous new me has evolved!

I had a delightful haircut experience at Alice's. Collette did my hair, and I am so happy with my cut. She described a lot about what kind of products would be good for my hair since it's so thick. The cut was done quite quickly. Cat blow dried my hair and did one of the most thorough jobs I have ever had.
I love the character of the place. There's a bit of visual stimulation - beads, paintings - that make this place special.
Collette mentioned that Sundays are a lot more tame than weekdays. Also, she mentioned free bang trims for customers. ALSO, I got 10% off as a first-time customer!
I am definitely coming here for my next haircut. -

I went to Alice after reading the yelp reviews. I'd had a TERRIBLE haircut a few weeks earlier - much shorter than I wanted, but yet so horrible I needed to get it cut again.
I had a great experience - everyone was friendly and understanding. I'm not sure if this is just because there was a wedding party there, but they were passing around glasses of champagne (I declined because I wasn't sure if I was actually welcome to one). I left feeling great (and I will say that the members of the wedding party left looking great as well.)

Yelpers, I have a confession to make: I almost didn't want to tell you about this place. I wanted to keep it for myself!
Everyone endearingly fashions an Irish accent, and while small, it looks like an efficient operation. They oddly lack price transparency, but gave me 10% off (1st time customer) and the best haircut I've had in months. Sláinte! -

Summary of my Alice Hair experience: Totally average salon, long waits, bait-and-switch pricing and a bad attitude.
I made appointment for three up-do's, which I was told started at $120 (which is also the price listed on their website.) After going to see Emma for a haircut (which was clearly nothing special, although she did do a decent job blow-drying it,) I made the mistake of telling them that I was getting married. Two weeks before the wedding, I get a call saying that they need a deposit and that my up-do will cost $250 because I am a bride.
After speaking with three different people over there, explaining that I just wanted regular service and to treat me like the other two who were coming with me, they still refused to charge me their normal rates. When I said that I had to think about it, they told me they were going to have to cancel my appointments, leaving me completely high and dry. -

Went to see Emma after reading the great reviews on here and was glad I did. Emma has a real talent with styling and coloring. I have naturally dark hair which Emma gradually turned blonde. Unlike at other salons where the blonde turned brassy, the blonde color stayed pretty true even after a couple of months.
Despite being a salon with a great reputation and some demanding clients (I've seen a woman insist for over 2 hours on making her hair an even lighter shade of platinum even though it was already snow white) they work hard to make you happy and do so with absolute charm. The decor is trendy but the treatment is down to earth. I've watched the other stylists and their assistants (all the girls know their stuff) and everyone who's come in has left happy. I'd recommend any of them in a heartbeat but Emma is a definite find. -

I went to Alice thanks to all the good reviews, but was pretty disappointed in a few basic areas. When I arrived I was served warm diet coke in a Dixie cup (isn't it better just to not serve it at all?), and they didn't have me remove my shirt and put on a salon-supplied "jacket" (just the usual coverup you'd get at Supercuts) so I had hair clippings on my shirt and down my bra.
I found the cleanliness of the salon questionable. There were clippings all over the floor, when I was taken back to have my hair shampooed all the sinks were full of hair dye brushes and bowls, and worst of all I could swear my stylist walked over from her previous client and used the same comb on my head without sterilizing it. I don't even want to think about the scissors.
While the haircut wasn't bad, it was incredibly fast (they had me in and out of there like it was a $20 haircut), and she didn't change anything or have any ideas about what to do with my hair. She just followed the outline of a haircut I'd gotten 5 months prior. Again, perhaps it had to do with how rushed she was? How are you supposed to be creative when the consultation, shampoo and haircut combined take 20 minutes?
Overall my stylist was nice and her work wasn't sloppy, but really I just felt like the cut was onlyy a step above OK. Definitely not worth the money. I'm thinking maybe it's not such a bad thing to spend an extra $30 to get an innovative haircut at someplace where they treat you like royalty. Getting your haircut here feels more like you're just checking something off your list rather than having an enjoyable experience. -

I have been going to Alice's Hair Care or 2 years now and sadly I think it's time to move on. I usually see Caroline who used to be consistently fantastic however it's become hit or miss. It may be because she takes 3 clients at a time!!! Yes, there is a big waiting game going on at Alice's. Case in point, appt was at 12:30, she didn't take me until 1, kind of as an afterthought after the 2 other clients she was working on. You never get a "sorry we are running behind." When you ask how much longer, it I always the same response: "Not too much longer." So disappointing considering the amount you are paying and beyond unprofessional. Its actually stressful getting your hair done when it should be a relaxing break from everyday life.
If you are looking for a decent cut and color and don't care about waiting four hours without any explanation, go here. If you want a prompt and professional salon and a relaxing experience, please go elsewhere. You've been warned :) -

When I need to get my hair helmet removed, this is the place I head to.
These ladies are brilliant with a pair of scissors and I always leave looking amazing, which is interesting for a men's haircut. I try to pop in before a date or a night where I know I need to look my best. I basically walk in as one man and walk out as another, it's great. They've got a loyal customer in me. I'll be back again soon ladies, stay Irish for me. -

After reading all of these reviews, I had to give Alice Hair Care a try. But being new to New York, it was hard for me to find a new stylist. I would often sneak in a hair cut when I was home in Chicago so I didn't have to find a new stylist. Well, my split ends were driving me nuts and my hair really needed a cut so I decided to give it a try. And a haircut under $75? Perfect.
Amerah was my stylist and was running a few minutes late so they called to tell me to arrive 15 minutes later...I appreciate not having to sit around once I showed up. The hair cut was great -- she kept my length (which I asked for) but some how took out all the bulky volume and heaviness. This is one of the best cuts I've had in a while.
Thank you Yelp for leading me to Alice Hair Care. For those that need a hair cut on the UES, run, not walk, to Alice Hair Care. -

I went here on a friend's recommendation and had my hair cut by Emma - who I would be absolutely obsessed with even if she didn't do a great job on my hair because she was just so sweet and friendly....on second thought, everyone there was incredibly friendly. This is so refreshing given the often snobby attitudes I encounter when going to salons.
Anyways, I hardly knew what I wanted to do with my ragged mane but Emma was sweet and helpful and offerred to show me several different ways to style my hair - I declined given that I was going out that evening and just wanted a straight blow-out, but she even offerred that I could stop by anytime to have her show me one of the styles!
On top of it all, the price was SO affordable, I am sad that I only found it right before I am leaving New York.
If you want to have a fun, enjoyable haircut at a GREAT price - look no further...and ask for Emma! -

I love this place...i only live a block away and I always used to travel all the way downtown for haircuts so I'm glad I happened to try this place a few months ago.
They're great at all styles, open late on weekdays and always welcome walk-ins without appointments. Be prepared to wait cuz they're always busy! But it's totally worth the wait.
My stylist, Barbara, rocks! :) -

Ahhhh, the Irish....gotta love 'em!
Welp, after a lot of searching and reading reviews for a great place to get my haircut I came across Alice Hair .... and I am incredibly happy that I did! I had a great experience from start to finish!
While searching I read a lot of great things about Emma so I decided to get an appt. with her. Let me say that she def. lived up to all the fantastic things people had to say. Type of person you like before she even gets started with your hair. She was extremely kind, helpful, kept the convo flowing(and interesting), and took time to sit down and listen to everything I had to say before she even got started to be sure I got what I wanted. After she cut my hair she took time to tell me several different things about how to style it, etc. I def. would recommend Emma and Alice Hair Care! I will most def. be going back to see Emma! Now as an extra bonus....pretty much everyone (if not everyone) there is Irish.....now how awesome is that? Who doesn't love a great Irish accent?!
A+ to Emma and Alice Hair. Thank ya verrrry much! : ) -

I found Alice Hair via Yelp and was quite pleased. Amerah was my stylist and I was sad to hear she had left.
For those of you looking for Amerah, like I was, I have found her at Salon Seven in the East Village. She is still an amazing and awesome stylist!
