Don't let appearances fool you - I must have driven by this dingy looking place a few thousands times in the last seven years. However I was tipped off about it a few weeks ago, the restaurant is run by an Austrian chef and his wife, while they primarily focus on catering, they have a number of daily lunch and dinner specials for carry out. The food ranges from hot sandwiches such as Reubens, to familiar favorites such Lasagna and Chicken Parmigiana. The gems are the Bavarian dishes including a variety of schnitzels. They also have at least one soup every day as well as salad choices. The menu is updated each week on their web site.
I usually go at least once a week now, prices are reasonable, about $7 for an entree, $2.50 for soup, plus a drink. Entrees include vegetables, potatoes, and bread. -

I live in Haymarket, and my husband and I go to Alibi almost every day. We get a couple their wonderful soups for lunch and the full meals to reheat later for dinner. The food is terrific, and I couldn't make the meals for the prices they charge. If you happen to be in Haymarket between 11 and 2 on a weekday, do yourself a favor and check it out. (It's 11-2, not 10-2 that the other review says. And the other review says the meal is $7.00, but in fact it's only $5.75, recently increased from $5.50. This is a bargain for the quality and quantity of the food.
