i can't comment on anything beyond the drive-thru service and super (carne asada) fries.
but that's really all you need to know.
if i can get a ginormous eco-unfriendly styrofoam to-go container full of skinny fries, topped with sour cream, cheese, and carne asada - withOUT having to get my ass out of the car, mind you - it's allllll goooood.
the end. -

Torn! Torn!
THe food here is top notch, as i would expect from any of the alberto's restaurants on a good day. They even got that overly racial poncho wearing sombrero hauling mexican man in the front.
But how expensive. bah. 4.49 for a carne burrito. 7.99 for the superfries that was about 3/5 the size of the usual portions given. Gimme a break!. it use to be a good deal. well, it still is a good deal... at any other albertos, but if you want cheap affordable mexican food from this place, move on i say, move on.
on the plus side, this place is pretty damn clean. When i go to alberto joints, i expect it to be kinda dirty, and yet this place kinda looked like a remodeled wendy's, and pretty clean to boot.
Overall, food is good, but pricey. -

carne asada fries = damn good but oh so bad for you
The place is kind of ghetto and I figure people with hangovers would want the menudo soup from this place.
Overall food here is not bad, but it's pretty much mexican fast food thats better than the chain Taco Bell's and Del Taco's -

Hmm, well first of all, I must be ignorant about the history of this place because I don't know what the other reviewers are referring to with "Alberto's" and "California Burritos". Seems to be a San Diego thing - I'm not familiar with SD food!
But that said, I wandered into Alfredo's the other night in search of a quick, cheap, late night meal and got exactly what I wanted: A hot, melty burrito, some salty chips, and satisfyingly hot salsa, all for under four dollars. It is a cute little place with a pretty varied menu, AND a drive-thru which is always a bonus. I imagine I'll be paying Alfredo another visit in the near future. -

These people must not know anything about mexican food. This place is terrible and theres a reason it is always empty.

The three star rating is for the California burrito only, cause it's the only thing I order here... after adding guacamole to it, it comes out to over $5. The size is pretty small for that price, especially compared to chains down in SD. Overall though, it aint half bad- the tortilla was decent, except since the burrito was small, there was extra layers of tortilla, the meat quality was pretty good, there was a good ratio of fries/cheese/meat/pico de gallo/guac (extra), and the hot sauce was pretty tasty. Only if they made the fries a little crispier. I can't really find a California burrito this far north of SD, and the one here really reminds me of the kind of stuff you get from a "berto's" taco shop. Its a decent substitute. Just don't eat here for a workday lunch, or else you'll fall asleep at your desk.
