I am rating Alfredo's just on the asada (steak) burrito.
You can go to any market or liquor store with a mexican food joint inside the place going down Ramona Blvd. but you wont find a better burrito than at Alfredo's. I know this cause I live on this street and have spent years searching for perfect burrito. I cant compare this to restaurant burrito, but you get what you pay for. Which isn't a bad thing, because for $5 you get a burrito pretty much filled with nothing but the main ingredient.... MEAT! Also comes with guacamole inside and salsa on the side.
It all comes down to personal preference. Most places serve a burrito with rice and beans and charge extra for guacamole. If your not looking for extra filling, give Alfredo's burritos a try! -

Haven't touched your health insurance? Need an excuse to use it? How about inducing a myocardial infarction? Just supplement for your yearly allowance of advanced glycation end-products with Alfredo's carne asada fries. Or carne asada nachos. $8!
And they are not stingy on the carne asade. Sour cream, beans, cheese, guac. Your carton is covered. And I never finish it. It is so damn filling. And I enjoy the type of skinny fries they use too. No joke, this is the real deal Weight Gainer 9000 right here. And I'll take their tortilla chips over Alberto's (they retain crispness for longer, less oily).
In a hurry? Drive through available! And why not? Commuting in bumper-to-bumper gridlock traffic, makes for a great snack. Takes the edge off. Just stop short of falling into hi-glycemic food coma. -

I think a lot of the reviews are pretty misleading; mostly because 90 percent of the people here eat alfredo's when they're drunk or high. If you come here sober, the food is pretty disappointing. i've had the tacos(which are monster sized) and their carne asada nachos. if you get tacos, i'd recommend getting their asada as opposed to their carnitas or adobada. The asada is really sub-par but it's better than the other two options. adobada and carnitas are really gross.
the nachos are OK but not really worthy of being called "bomb" like many reviewers say.
this isn't really authentic mexican food; more like psuedo-mexican. It's still a step above taco bell and del taco. i've experienced better but i'd rather come here on a late night than go to norm's or denny's. -

The only time I've ate at this place is during after hours and have enjoyed the food thoroughly each and every time. I usually get the super nachos to share and we never finish. There's so much!! The chimichanga is also awesome and this one I DO finish. I like to get it with chicken because it's shredded. Yay. I'll probably write an update when I experience Alfredo's sober. I can say that it's a great after hours spot though.. I'm always satisfied!

Me and buddy were in the mode for some Mexican food so we decided to hit up Alfredo's in BP since he lives down the street from it. Took a cruise right on over to the drive threw and order a plate of mochaca and some bean and cheese burritos.
I never had their mochaca and i have to say DAM!! shit was good. Its rice, beans and smash carne asada mix with eggs cheese onions and some other good shit. The bean and cheese burritos were ok nothing special about them but they fill you up.
I need to start coming here more often and order the mochaca plate i strongly recommend this to anyone its super good fills you up just right. Price aint bad its was worth every penny in my opinion and i will be back again for more mochaca yum yum. -

After reading the reviews of Alfredo's, I drove past the Alberto's I usually go to on Peck Road, where there were 3 cars in line at the drive through, and pulled into the virtually empty Alfredo's.
I ordered the chile rellenos and a shredded beef taco. It wasn't horrible but definitely not as good as Alberto's. I didn't finish any of it and my stomach was a little upset. Maybe they're better in some of the items I didn't try. I won't be going back to find out. -

I ordered super nachos and the man taking my order repeated my order 3 times. When I opened the box it was actually super fries. Repeated 3 times for a wrong order? Fuck you.

Cheap, good, and open 24hrs... what more can you want? Order the carne asada fries. Big enough to share, enough carbs to sober you up and enough beans for you to shit your brains out in the morning.
Oh, and the food here does taste better when youre drunk! -
Review from Ian W.
It's 3 AM and I'm hungry for some hot Mexican food. I head over to Alfredo's (on the corner of Ramona and Stewart) which is open 24 hours with drive-thru and take out window service. When this place used to be a Taco Bell back in the 1980s, I enjoyed "ringing the bell" for soft tacos and cinnamon twists. Alfredo's is a step up from Taco Bell.
I usually get one of the Combination Dinners (served with Mexican rice and beans) for around $6.00. I enjoy the Fish Tacos which are fried fish loaded with mayo, shredded cabbage, & tomato in soft corn tortillas. The rice and beans could be a bit more spicy and have more flavor. The presentation is messy in the takeout container with generous and filling food portions.
Overall: 4 STARS
Food: 3 STARS
Hours: 5 STARS (OPEN 24-7 with Drive-Thru) -

This place is awesome! Whether your looking to grab a bite for lunch or a late night bite, this place will definitely satisfy your stomach and won't empty your wallet for sure.
Depending on how hungry I am, I will usually order either of the following: Super Nachos, taquitos, chimichanga, or carne asada burrito.
Refer to the picture I posted on the Super Nachos lol -

This is good stuff I tell ya!
Carne Asada fries and the Super Nachos are great here! Good for late night snacking. Ive also had the Chorizo Burritos & Machaca Burritos.
Parking lot is small, and kinda limited. There's a couple of tables there, but you probably don't wanna eat there. Take it home, if you wanna be safe.
Alfredos have been popping up around the area, but don't get them confused with Alberto's. Although the menus are similar. Infact the logos are almost the same. Might be fielding brothers battling it out. -

One Word!!! CARNE ASADA FRIES!!! haha ok maybe three. The only three you need to know when ordering here. Gawd all mighty these fries have no equal and no rival!! Cream, Guac, Fries, Cheese and TONS AND TONS OF MEAT!!! Only downside to this place is they dont take credit as i so sadly found out one day. So ill dock em for that but its open all the time and the food is incredible so meh!!! Go there, get some asada fries and a good drink and your set for the whole day!! :D feel free to thank me when you do.
Cheers! -

Heavy but worth the $2-$3 in change you rummaged through your car for!
The carne asada burrito is HUGE enough to share between two people, and all of their tacos are good, too. Wash it down with some horchata and you're good to go.
Drive-thru or walk-up, you'll need to wait awhile, but that's OK right? Because good junk food takes time... -

I love Alfredo's! I love coming here to end the night after partying.
I normally get their carne asada fries or alfredo's burrito. Both are super good! I've tried their rolled tacos, and it was okay. Anyway, I love how it's opened 24 hrs so I can get my mexican food fix at anytime! -

What can I say about this place other than it's open 24 hours.
It's not the best food. It's open and it's just right there. I also heard a rumor that this place had a secret menu... but lets not get into that...... its probably not the menu your thinking about....
This is a place to get your late night fix out of your system so that you can go to sleep satisfied. -

Food was ok. My mom's order was wrong, and the food she did get the bread was stale and the fries were unsalted and dry. My order was ok. I had carne asada nachos. The guacamole didn't taste right and the meat wasn't cooked all the way. Not the best I've had from them but I still recommend it

Darn good food. I love their taquitos with guacamole. I get them almost every time I go. Their tacos and burritos are huge and have great flavor. I have tried their carnitas, the adobada (spelling?), and their fish, all of which are mighty tasty. Great food and a great price, what more could you ask for?

This is a place I like to come to when I'm craving Mexican food. I've tried their carne asada fries, carne asada nachos, carne asad burrito and california burrito and this place never fails me. After a night at the bar, this place is definitely the spot to hit up. Their open all day every day..

Note that everything is outdoors but it doesn't really matter. Probably one of the best 24hr mexican joints . Best carne asada fries at 3am, intoxicated OR sober. Very filling and I don't even eat the meat. The crowds are occassionally kind of sketchy, but then again it's Baldwin Park.

hands down one of THE BEST mexican food joints i've ever eaten at.
right up there with Alberto's & Alerto's. x]
Super Fries, Super Nachos, Carne Asada Burrito, Alfredo Burrito.
It's SO good that I wanted to come home from texas JUST for em.

Went here on a Friday night and got the same rude service as usual. Almost every 24 hour Mexican restaurant offers pico de gallo on its carne asada except these guys. When we do mention it, they claim that its never done before. They also got our order mixed up. I'm pretty sure you can find better carne asada fries elsewhere. Skip this one.

San Diego, CA
Being a student from the San Diego area, Carne Asada Fries becomes part of your unhealthy diet during your undergraduate years. Going back home to the 626 area, Alberto's "Super Fries" just doesn't cut it. I don't want thick-cut and soggy fries! Then came along Alfredo's. I passed by this place not knowing the amazing-ness it stores. Ordered Carne Asada Fries and an Alfredo's Burrito (California burrito) and they just have it going on! The Carne Asada Fries is just a heart attack in a box. They are not skimpy on meat portions either. They really do pack it with fries and meat and cheese and all the other stuff you may want (sour cream, guac, etc). As for the Alfredo's burrito, average in terms of what a Cali burrito is. What makes it good is the meat, and again, not skimpy when it comes to meat portions.
As for the hot sauce, typical green and red hot sauce. I think the red one is the spiciest, but they are somewhat watery. Nonetheless, a great place to grab some Carne Asada Fries after a night of partying or just plain ol' hungry. -

If you come here order the Alfredo's Burrito. Although most 24hr Mexican fast food spots are pretty much the same place reincarnated, the Alfredo's burrito is better tasting then most "California" burrito's at other Mexican Spots.

I have ate Mexican food all my life and have tried many different places, but this is truly the best place for Mexican food. Their carne asada fries, carne asada burritos, and chile relleno plates are super! I can't go one month without having my Alfredo's fix. The only thing about this place is that the environment is pretty bad and some night customers can be ghetto, so I do not suggest coming here alone.

Baldwin Park, CA
Honestly, this place beats out any other 24hour joints like these around.
The alfredos in el monte doesnt even match up to this one, and dont even try comparing it to albertos, alertos, or any other those other places.
best place to go especially when youre druuunk or lifted, if i do say so myself.
i would come maybe twice a week on those drunk nights back in the daze and go half on the carne asada fries with someone, or just eat the whole thing if i was feeling crazy.
whats so good here about their carne asada fries is that they go straaaight to the got damn point. that is.. you get a BOX full of fries, carne asada, cheese, sour cream, and gauc. that is all you really need. however, if you want pico de gallo in it, you can always ask them.
since i love yelp, ill let you guys in on some of the stuff ive ordered before that isnt on the menu..
- chimichanga carnitas burrito and tell them to separate the sour cream and gauc
-carnitas alfredos burrito
-fish alfredos burrito
*for the alfredos burritos, you gotta tell them to add sour cream n guac
AND
if you get carne asada fries, ASK them for an extra flour tortilla and some lime...trust me. =) -

Review from Reyes L.
West Covina, CA
The hard tacos from this place are the best in town. The tacos both hard and soft are packed with meat, and the soft tacos are more like burritos, they are big. It's open 24/7 and is the only stop in the area to get great food at 3am, after a long night of partying or drinking. It is well lighted, but I wouldn't let my wife go here alone at night.
