A restaurant goes from 4 stars to 5 in my book when the overall experience brings it up past the level of just the food and service. I've been there three times so far and it never lets me down. Last night's dinner was Veal Sorrentino and a table in the window looking onto the Main Line action. They allowed me to replace my potatoes with ziti in pomodoro, the Caesar salad had real anchovies and the service was top notch. We weren't rushed and the service was attentive and knowledgeable. I will definitely be back!

We only went here due to a groupon offer, and we were impressed! While it does get very packed and loud, the staff was pretty good at checking in with us.

Our party, both times, consisted of 4 adults & a highchair - and they placed us in a round 4-top, making the dinner cramped, especially when there's a highchair involved. We did not request to be moved nor were we offered an alternate location. The other time we had a somewhat larger table.

As for the food, it is "okay". We ordered house salads without any apps, and it came out in a reasonable amount of time, and for our entrees - it took about 20 minutes and by the time we sat, to the time our food came out, the place was packed and loud!

The staff were very attentive; there were some which jumped out of their area to help and visit other tables.

We had 6pm reservations and ended up leaving by 7:45.

It's quite the distance from home, but since I work out that way the restaurant is the first choice for dinner.

We will definitely cone back, and while the prices are a little high, it's a cozy place for good food.

Some of the bread was fresh while others were rock hard, they provide an olive oil spice blend for dipping, and butter is available by request.

I struggled deciding how to review this restaurant. I ate here the night we had the freak October snowstorm. As an Italian-American, restaurant cooking never quite meets the expectations of home-cooking. This place is not an exception. Frequently, I have opined my displeasure with "modern-Italian" restaurants that have long abandoned "traditional" rustic flavors and instead have adopted menus that do not really resemble anything one might see in Italy. Rather, "modern-Italian" restaurants such as this are often seen in Manhattan...with menus prepared by Michelin-star chefs.

Alfredo is very good, but it's not "Italian"... if that makes any sense (and it probably will not to people of other ethnicities). It fails at "modern-Italian" too. Put simply-the menu is too ambitious for the level of skill in the kitchen. However, in more careful hands this place has the potential to become very special. Try the grilled calamari and be sure to order pasta.

My husband and I have eaten here and the atmosphere is nice and the service is excellent, also the BYOB is a nice option in the area.  But the menu is OK, it's good food but nothing really stands out as a unique or amazing dish.  It's a very typical Italian menu.

Their tomato sauce is very good but their alfredo sauce is like milky water very disappointing.  Last time I was there I had their Agnolotti Alfredo, which is a half moon stuffed with ricotta and topped with spinach.  But you could totally tell that the spinach was the chopped frozen kind, it wasn't bad it just wasn't fresh and took away from the quality of the dish.

But again the service and atmosphere is nice and the menu is priced reasonable for this area.  And it's a great place to go with friends and family for a nice dinner, but it's nothing that will wow you.

Had dinner here with my wife on Valentine's day.  The ambiance and food were quite good but the service was just terrible - inattentive, long waits for everything and when our main courses had actually arrived after close to 30 minutes they neglected to give us forks.  They also had a special prix fixe menu for the evening - it would have been nice had they mentioned this when I was making the reservation.

I agree with Scott's review.  I've eaten here for lunch several times and the food is fresh and authentic.  The sauce on my gnocchi (which was homemade) was amazing as were the side dishes we had.  The space is charming and the service was stellar.  I would recommend it to anyone!

Surprised at the first review for this place. In the past four dining experiences I have had, I have enjoyed each meal increasingly more and more. Our first visit was for an early Valentine's Day dinner where I had the veal chop that was to die for. I have taken business clients there and have even taken advantage of their fantastic lunch buffet which is hard to beat in the Berwyn area. The ambiance is very cool, old style building with glass front, brick walls which can tend to make sound travel a bit when the rush is on but overall a great place to dine. As a BYO in Berwyn, there is no ridiculous corkage fee and the wine glasses on the table are perfect to indulge yourself. Servers are great, personable and knowledgeable about the menu and the specials. Parking can be tricky depending on the time but a nice little stroll through Berwyn to Alfredo's is sure worth it!

This review is for our first time at Alfredo. We enjoyed an excellent meal. Service was very friendly, especially our waiter John who was a great server and offered helpful tips on the menu. We started with a delicious crab bisque that was loaded with crab chunks. Apparently we lucked out that they had lasagna as a special because John said it was only the second time they've offered it in the 7 months Alfredo has been in business. The lasagna was very good and my daughter also enjoyed her chicken parm. The place filled up to packed as we were finishing our meal and the service did slow a bit toward the end as a result. Nothing out of the ordinary for a busy restaurant. I give Alfredo a strong recommend and will definitely be back

I have eaten here once and will never eat here again!  The veal itself was tasty but the sauce tasted as though it was out of a jar, thick and salty.  The mashed potatoes were bland and the sauteed broccoli rabe was so salty and garlicy that I could not eat it.  My husband's veal dish was similarly adorned with a nondescript sauce and the same inedible side dishes.  Maybe other dishes were better but I'm not willing to waste my money trying them.  Service was fine but sporatic and the atmosphere was loud and impersonal.  Not worth it!
