Emma and Alfie (nickname my hubby gave Alfred haha) are such gems.
I think I emailed Emma for various reasons no less than 100 times. I'm serious. And she replied within an hour, and usually in less then 15 mins. Every time. And when I couldn't handle the details and planning anymore days/hours before the wedding, she responded to my twin's emails, I later found out, which probably numbered around 30 emails.
Why is this important? because Emma and Alfie want to get what you want. They want that shot, they want a nice, pretty, happy, peaceful bride/couple. And they do so much to guarantee it.
I'm really lucky I was able to snatch them up, and so should you! (they book quickly and only do a certain number of weddings per year so they can devote time to the albums and not getting burnt out), so Hurry!
Emma and Alfred, you both are Awesome =P! -

If you're looking for your wedding photographer, look no further. Alfred and Emma are the best bang for the buck photographers in the Bay Area.
I'm serious. Stop looking at Yelp. Give them a call. You'll meet with them in their lovely home and you'll meet with BOTH of them. Don't forget ladies and gents, on your wedding day, aside from your wedding party, you will spend time with no one more than your photographer. So it's in your best interest to pick one that's not only able to take awesome shots, but one with a great personality!
Okay, fine. You want to look at pictures. Have a look! Check out their blog and their Facebook page to see everything they've been up to. Dearest Emmafred,
"Wowza" is the word, yep, you guys are simply..."Wowzers." We got chills! The pictures have a timeless feel to them. It's really fun looking through them. You guys captured moments we didn't even know happened. The day happened so fast, but you guys are even faster with the cameras.
Not only did you guys capture many wonderful candid moments, but the pictures themselves are captivating! Even the hotel management requested to have your pictures for marketing purposes. The slide show really told the story as well. What's insane is that it has an addictive element to it, we find ourselves watching it over and over. Great song selection, too. Same with our engagement photos and slide show, nothing short of amazing. You guys are second to none. =)
We are super glad to have had you guys document our wedding. We hope you guys enjoyed the day as much as we did. Let's have lunch someday, we can talk about album options after. We'll have Dave and Adrienne join us if they are free.

We LOVE Alfred and Emma. Aside from their beautiful work, my husband and I just really appreciate Alfred and Emma as the genuine, fun people that they are. They love what they do, and it shows in their work and in the time we spent with them.
You want your photographer(s) to be in touch with who you are - not just photograph you as "subjects." We feel Alfred and Emma really got to know us, and it translates to photos that really show who we are as individuals and as a couple.

Every step of the way - from scheduling our initial consultation to the delivery of our final wedding galleries - Alfred and Emma were on time, prepared, responsive, and organized. Trust me: when you're planning a wedding, you want all of your vendors to be on top of things. We had so much fun during both our engagement and wedding day shoots. Yes, Alfred will ask you to climb on that rock, in your dress, and twist all the way backwards to kiss your groom on the cheek. But they make it FUN, and they make you LAUGH while doing it. Laughter = smiles, and smiles make for beautiful, fun photos that ooze LOVE. YES YOU WANT YOUR WEDDING PHOTOS TO OOZE LOVE.

It's only been 5 months since our wedding and I'm already having some "Alfred& Emma" withdrawals These two photographer are the most awesome-ness people I have ever met.
I met them when my husband and I were searching for photographers for our special day. After meeting with many photographers, I knew Emma and Alfred were "THE ONE". I'm so glad I picked them. They are so easy to work with and so creative. I've always loved the aspects of photography but after working with these two I fell in love with their style. They sure have the natural talent that we were looking for to capture our special day.
I cant wait for them to photograph our new daughter coming this May. She's going to be very lucky meeting the Saloms.
Totally not enough stars for me to rate them! Kudos to the Saloms! -

My husband was the one to find our wedding photographers. It was definitely fate that brought us together with Emma & Alfred. After our initial consultation we immediately knew they were the perfect fit to our wedding as they showed us their albums and packages. We loved the different styles this husband and wife team brought and liked the fact we would be getting both styles. Their wedding packages offer the best value you can find in the bay area for the AMAZING quality you get. We chose the popular package, which included an engagement shoot, 8 hours of wedding coverage, and our wedding album. We are so glad we had the opportunity to have the engagement shoot. We had only met Alfred once during our consultation, but we felt as though we had known him for a long time. We felt comfortable at our engagement shoot and appreciated Alfred's directing because we had no idea how to pose, but we trusted him to make us look fabulous (AND we did!). I definitely recommend on having the engagement shoot (Great practice for the wedding)! They also offer great customer service and are very easy going. You can reach Emma at any time via email and she won't hesitate to email you back right away. She is so patient and informative.
Our wedding day was hectic and flew by so quickly, but Alfred & Emma were there every step of the way and captured all the moments. We cannot stop raving about our photographers! We are trying to find an excuse for us to use them again and are recommending them to all of our friends and family who are getting married in the future -

If you are looking for a photographer, look no further, these folks are truly amazing, talented and super easy/wonderful to work with. I didn't know what to expect in looking for a photographer for my wedding... so when we began talking i immediately knew these people not only knew what they were doing.... they were ensuring a beautiful experience!!! We took our engagement shots at Castello Di Amorosa and they really brought out the best in us AND the location.
I can't stop raving about the quality of their work!! They are truly talented! To top it all off, they are great to work with, very patient, very kind... and insightful when necessary. They coached us through our session and we felt so comfortable taking the directions because of the delivery - we all know that makes a huge difference when taking pictures.
Another reason I went with them is because when we decided to get married, we chose a date about 4 months away... and basically had no savings. I am very pleased to say this (and you budget conscious brides will LOVE THIS).... even though i didnt have a budget, they still had an AMAZING package for me. I know some couples don't care about money, some really need to pinch pennies.... ASP provides everyone the opportunity to have the most amazing quality pictures at a price point EVERYONE can enjoy. I know they are worth every single dollar!
I can't wait to see the magic they create for my wedding on sunday, 10-10-10!!! I will also be contacting them for our family photoshoot for the holiday.

Where do I even begin to describe our wonderful experience with Alfred and Emma of Alfred Salom Photography? From the moment we had our first consultation with them, to the final moments of our wedding celebration, they were top notch and professional. I had seen their portfolio, of course, which was a testament in itself to their talent, but it was more than that. Emma was always on top of correspondence and was as helpful as can be. She even offered to help me find vendors, and I actually hired the makeup artist she recommended to me (who also did a fantastic job, but that's the subject of another review).
But the kicker for me was the slideshow they put together of the photos they took at our wedding. I didn't even know that they were going to do that. I'm not a sentimental type of person, and I didn't cry at my wedding, but I very nearly cried while watching the slideshow. It was that good. Unless I'm just PMS-ing. At any rate, I would not hesitate to recommend Alfred and Emma for any photography needs you may have. They were definitely a big part of making our wedding as beautiful as it was. -

I found Alfred & Emma when google searching photos of our wedding venue and I fell in love with their work and their blog. Wow! Alfred and Emma are awesome! Emma was very quick to respond to all my e-mails and answered all my questions in a timely manner. Our engagement shoot was so much fun! Alfred made everything run smooth and made it so much fun, unlike other photographers who might make you feel awkward.
They both genuinely want to get to know you and incorporate that into the shoot. My fiance and I love love love the pictures! We're beyond happy with the results. -

There are not enough stars... This review is long over due...
I saw Emma and Alfred's work from a friend's FB page since he hired them and I was instantly drawn to them. Emma and I played email tag for a couple of months before we actually met them. We interviewed other photographers during our wedding planning phase but there was something different when we met Emma and Alfred, the husband and wife team behind ASP. We felt like they were a part of our family and we felt so at home with them. They are very professional and very organized. Like other yelpers have already said, if you email Emma expect a reply within the next minute =).
We were lucky enough to have them do our engagement session, our wedding, and our after shoot. Each time, they amazed us with their skill and talent. We still get compliments on how beautiful our photos are. They were also really fast in delivering the final product. They are easy to work with and got along well with our other wedding vendors. I recommend them to everyone I know looking for a photographer. They're the best. Look at the other reviews, 5 out of 5 stars across the board.

I am a bride-to-be who's been doing research on wedding photographers. Customer service is so important to me, and it's a major factor in my decision-making of vendors. From a client perspective, the vendor experience begins the moment you get in touch with them for information, availability, or even a quote.
I have contacted about a dozen photographers so far and Alfred Salom photography is one of them. While we havent had a consult with ASP yet, I felt very compelled to write a yelp review just to discuss my positive experience with Emma Salom of ASP.
First of all, I've been very impressed by Emma's efficiency - she is always on top of her game and very responsive to my numerous emails and questions. She is very polite, professional and super nice! She also has great follow up. I've contacted many photographers with questions or requests for quotes and I've gotten very late replies, short replies, replies that dont answer my questions, and even no replies. I've been pretty disappointed with the lack of customer service and professionalism from other local photographers but not with ASP -- they clearly know how to run their business and have amazing interpersonal skills, open communication, and are very responsive. I wish all vendors were like Emma Salom, she is that awesome!
To engaged couples who are considering ASP for their services, I highly recommend that you get in touch with them, you will not be disappointed and you will be thoroughly impressed by their professionalism and their creativity!

Can I just say Alfred and Emma are AH-MA-ZING!!! I absolutely loved all the photos that they took to capture my wedding day!! My bridal party was a mix between the gorgeous (my girls) and the goof balls (his dudes). Alfred & Emma thought of fun unique poses and we're also down for us to take lead on things we wanted to do!!
They captured so many in the moment shots that I am eternally grateful.

AMAZING...AMAZING...WOW!
If I could give 10 stars, I would happily do it ( no bribing necessary ).
Me and my sister looked around for a good photographer and since she is also an artist/photographer, she is very pick when it comes to aesthetics. I am a snob, too...
When we both looked at Alfred's website, we were Wow-ed.
The picures looked organic, honest, expressive, with unique artistic sensibility.
She booked a photo session with Al and Emma and they were so kind, sweet and such a pleasure to work with. It was super cold that day and they made sure they got every shot out of us with all smiles( you have to have a passion for it to be able to do that ). They were also very generous with time.
When the pictures came out, it was like "Holy Jesus My Lord!" My sister looked so stunningly beautiful and elegant, and her groom looked so handsome. My dark eye circles gone, and my mom's double chin were less noticeable.
I tried my best, but can't describe how gorgeous the pictures are with my uneducated and limited vocabulary knowledge. But I guarantee you that when you go on to his website, you would know why I spent last 4 hours straight oogling a dictionary to come up with words to accurately describe his photographs. You will know...
When I took the photographs to show my friends and co- workers, they were "wow-ed" ( not one of those obligatory, trying to be nice not to hurt your feelings commment such "aww, how sweet!" comments either )
When she met Al and Emma again to pick up the pixs, they had a surprise present for her as well! -

Referred by our friend, my (now) wife and I hired Alfred to be the photographer for our wedding.
For all that are hiring a wedding photographer, GET ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS!!! This is a great chance for you to click with your photographer, and I'm glad we did it with Alfred. He is very patient and easy to work with. After couple minutes of shooting, we are super relaxed in front of Alfred's camera
As for the wedding, Alfred, Emma, & Dave are our photographers. They truly made our day feel special, and like we are super stars. Thanks to them, we love our wedding photos and so does everyone else!

(I would like for Emma and Al to post this on their site so that anyone and everyone could hear a true testament)
Emma and Al cannot possibly be fans of ours. In fact, it is the other way around. Emma is genuine, organized, straight to the point, honest, and provides suggestions for unexpected/unplanned situations. She claims that Al calls her Hitler, because she is so on top of things, while he sometimes chooses to play with his Xbox - haha! If this "she-Hitler" allowed me to have such beautiful pictures, then I consider that a compliment. Al is funny, easy going, creative, and possesses an honest work ethic. These two don't just "take shots" they take the real shots. I was worried that Al would take only a certain fixed number of shots, but during our E-session, he wanted to take more. That in itself, is proof of the work ethic of this husband and wife team.
My husband (yikes! still getting used to it) and I are so happy that they were there for us. The Saloms were an integral part of our engagement and wedding day. They guided us, they tipped us regarding food in the limo, they accommodated us, they assured us, they made us comfortable, they invited us to their house, they took care of us in every sense (sorta like how an ate and kuya take care of their own). In our book, they deserve accolades.

I have only seen the slide show for my daughters wedding and I am so happy. Alfred, Emma and Dustin are an amazing team. They were so easy to work with and had so many artistic ideas for truly memorable shots.

It's been long overdue that I haven't written a review on Yelp, especially for these very talented photographers. From the moment, my husband and I met Emma and Alfred; we felt very at ease with them. They are both professional, and they know what they are doing. We love our engagement and wedding photos. They really did capture the moments of our wedding last November. They also have a sense of humor, and we feel very comfortable around them. Our family and friends kept complimenting how great our photos turned out, and how our photographers captured the special moments in our wedding.My husband and I are very HAPPY that we were able to find them on our special day. Now, that we are expecting, we will have another session with them in the very near future when our baby girl is born.

It's been a few months already and I forgot to update this.. we got our album and I really LOVE IT. Alfred and Emma worked diligently trying to make our album something really memorable and beautiful. They even worked with different creative people to make our album special... but their talents alone is sufficient in the creative process of our photo album. They suffered through our weeks and months of changes and adding the little details we wanted.... but they were patient about it. Highly recommended. Thanks Alfred and Emma.. you two are a star team!!!

What can I really say...maybe that I wish we could add more stars!?! My wife and I are lucky to have hired and been able to work with great photographers. The tag team duo power packed crew that they are, really does amazing work (there is a HUGE period there!) The shots they came up with and how they controlled the light was amazing. The chemistry from their relationship and working style definitely made it easy to be photographed and made us feel as if we were being photographed by friends who happed to be professional, rather than friendly professionals. They were very open and innovative and also lended themselves to new ideas, such as, a photoshoot in a cemetary. A first... WE LOVE Al and Emma!!! We would love to work with them again in the future and would not hesistate to recommend...

First off, if you are looking for a photographer for ANYTHING, your search stops here! I would recomend Alfred Salom Photography to anyone!!
We used them for our November wedding (and our engagement session). Now, let me tell you- the whole wedding planning process was fun to me, and I looked forward to every minute if it. BUT, I was scared to death about finding the right photographer for us. Pictures were very important to my then fiance and I, and we didn't have a whole lot of room in our budget to spend on a photographer that had the style and expertise that we wanted- we THOUGHT. That was, until we met Alfred and Emma!
From the first communication to set up an appointment, Emma (Alfred's wife) responded ASAP (within a half hour I believe!?). When we met them, we felt relaxed and at ease. That's important since beign the subject of a photography session can make one feel pretty vulnerable! We were amazed with the photos we were shown and impressed with their story. Their style was exactly what we wanted and for such an affordable cost. As we left the first meeting while walking to our car, we looked at eachother and both said at the same time - "Let's book them!". We felt like we hit the photog jackpot!
The experience we had with Alfred as our photographer was awesome- he is so creative and he seems to adapt to every setting, coming up with unique poses and capturing color, light, and most important- emotion. My husband and I still look at our proofs every day since the wedding and I can remember with each picture what I was feeling and thinking at that exact moment. Our day was captured on film in the most beautiful way! -

AMAZING!
Alfred and Emma Salom did our wedding in November and did a phenomenal job! The pictures turned out better than I imagined. I've gotten a TON of compliments.
The photos we love most, Alfred posed us. While we were taking the photos, I would think a certain pose would look good but just didn't turn out that way. So leave it to the professional-Alfred to determine angles and poses. Haha.
They edit and give you a lot of photos but don't give "all" negatives. So it is necessary to put together a list of "must-have" photos (pictures with who, what angles, samples of photos you like, etc.). We missed out on having pictures taken of key people and WITH some key people. I totally regret not taking their advice and the extra time to really put together a list. They don't read minds, so if you want a close up of your entire wedding party, you gotta tell them! (I'm still kicking myself)
You can't go wrong with them. Their portfolio speaks for itself. -

AMAZING photographer! I've had two sessions with Alfred and Emma and not only had some great photos afterward, but had a blast during the shoots as well! On a family shoot, they actually got my finicky little sister to have fun and smile. On a couple shoot, they had great ideas that resulted in phenomenal pictures. And I usually don't like the way I look in pictures, but in their photos, I look great! =) The photos have this different quality about them; they're all beautiful, candid, and different from any others you've seen before. Their artistic eye not only captures the right moments, but evokes them in the final product as well. Nice to see such beauty in photos that are so creative, natural and organic. Absolutely wonderful.

Alfred and Emma rock! I can proudly say that if anyone asks me (or my wife) for awesome photographers, I would not hesitate to tell them about this dynamic duo! They took our wedding pictures at SF city hall last March 2009 and we have received nothing but compliments and praises. But the best part bout them is how they do their work. Unlike some other photographers who are very bossy and mean (oh yes they do exist), and others who don't seem to know what they are doing, the Saloms are very relaxed and very centered on their clients. They know how to bring out the best qualities of the subject on the photos. Also they are very creative, knowing how to turn parking lots and ordinary corners to photographic goldmines! They know how to pose and get shots at vantage points one would not even think of getting! I would not like to run on with this review but there is no other way of saying Alfred Salom Photography is one of the BEST IN THE BAY!

A friend hired Alfred as a wedding gift for us and we were really pleased with the outcome. The photos were fun, colorful, creative, and off-beat - just what we asked for. Alfred and his team arrived at the site extra early and were super-professional, which we appreciated given that we had a very small and short wedding with a quite a bit going on at once. Alfred's style is very relaxed and amenable, which we really appreciated. The only "even better if" I would give is that he should give the groups more guidance in how to arrange themselves for optimal shots. Otherwise, he's great, cheap, down to earth, and talented!
