This is a review for the GAS STATION not the detail place.
I was up here to buy a new used car and had to get gas since my new car was running on fumes.
Thanks to the woman's trusty GPS on her Blackberry this was the closest gas station.
I did notice the detail guys eyeing me intensely as I drove to the pumps.
Kinda like how a vulture watches it's dying prey in a desert.
Like any other gas station, it wasn't really that different, the only reason I'm yelping this place is the customer service of the Cashier Sam.
He was super friendly and super helpful. It really made a lasting impression.
If I'm ever up in the area I know where I can get good gas and great service.
But per the other reviews, I will stay away from the detail guys. -

I needed my car wash...it was in dire need of one especially since it look like it came out of the jungle. The people there offered me a deal, 40 bucks...for a car wash, waxing, interior detail, and air freshener (optional). So I said, "Sure why not?" *tosses keys*. While I await in the lobby room playing FF6 on my GBA, like little Hiro, I was curious to see how long it would take them to finish. After about 30 minutes, they called me up and they said they were finish.
I give them the receipt, take my car keys back, get into the car and look what I see...remnant trash not tossed out, from little pieces of sand still on the floor...and even old receipts from parking at the ARC without a parking permit. I was very disappointed, especially since I've received better detail from Boyd's Auto Shop (they cleaned my car really well after repairs...note my review on them).
I'm finally back home...and now I think the third star upholds just for pity...you can do better than this Alfie's but keep up the work like this and all your getting from me is a once and a blue moon car wash. -

Alfie's is the worst place to get your car washed. DO NOT go there. I went to get my car washed and the workers were not paying attention so my car literally left the car wash area without a driver and rolled out and hit a truck being dried. My car was smashed in the front and had a hole in it because the truck that my car hit had a tow hook. They were not even busy when I went that afternoon. I complained to the manager who seemed to not give a damn and was apathetic about the whole event.
After just getting the manager's name, I called back the next day to get the situation resolved. It took over a month for them to pay for the damages. They were very unfriendly and unhelpful. The odd thing about the whole situation is that the manager acted like it was a normal thing that happened. Bewarned. Don't go to Alfie's. You will get horrible service and you may end up with more than a scratch on your car. -

A detail shop that doesn't pay attention to details...I just spent 20-minutes re-wiping every spot they missed. Some small water spots, no big deal...so obviously kick marks from my passenger that can be seen even by a blind bat!! What? You didn't think I'd ever check the passenger side of the car??
Only good part is that instead of $40, I only paid $27 because of a fulfilled punch card.
I tried to give them enough tries to improve.
Enough times for me to fill the punch card.
No improvement in sight.
I'm done. Taking the wife's car somewhere else now. -

UPDATED 03-30-07: I thought I'd give this place another try. Geez they're now $15.99. They took forever like they did last time, but this time, after I drove off and went grocery shopping, when I went to put my groceries in the trunk, I opened my trunk up and there was soap and wet stuff all over. They didn't even bother to open up the trunk to clean it can you believe it? Luckily I had a towel in my car which I dried it off with. Why are there no reliable carwashes in Irvine? I'd rather take the car to Tustin now where they do a better job and it costs less!
I stopped in here to get my car washed today. It cost $15.95 for the regular inside out option (Option A). That was the cheapest one available. Okay, whatever, more than what I would've liked to pay but let's see how good a job they do.
So I proceed into the cashiers, pay, go sit outside and wait. I had a magazine with me and I wasn't in a hurry, so it was okay that they took a long time. But then again, they took a REALLY long time. Not only were they slow, but when my car was done, no one let me know that it was done. I just happened to look up from my magazine that I saw my car was unattended and just sitting there.
I walked over and asked if it was done. They had to ask 3 other people before informing me that indeed it was done. I looked around, yeah they did a great job. It was really clean inside and out. Seriously great compared to my last car wash experience.
I'm not sure if I would come here if I needed a relatively quick wash. There weren't that many cars there and it took a good 30-35 minutes. -

I made the mistake of parking under a tree & the birds had a field day. They know I hate them, and for revenge they decided to decorate my car. Stupid birds.
So I went to the nearest car wash which just happened to be Alfie's. I usually wash my own car because I just can't trust other people with my baby, but since I haven't had time lately and couldn't stand looking at the big, nasty, brown & white splotches, I thought I'd give them a try.
They're just so so. They got the job done for $14.00 in about 35 minutes and the unsightly splotches were gone, but it wasn't anything I was impressed by. The guy left a nasty grease stain on my arm rest and I had to make him come back and clean it, but the rest of the car looks okay. I know I could do a better job though, and get a tan doing it, so I probably won't be coming back. -

These guys are a'ight.
Except for not detail vacuuming and detail cleaning of my rims, they did a pretty good job of the body, windows, dashboard and leather.
I'll admit. I've paid more for worst work, so from that perspective these guys are "A-OK". -

If this review was for Alfie's before the owner change, I would give them 4.5 stars. For all my years going to UCI, I was a starving college student but still found the time (and money) to go to Alfie's because I loved the place, I loved the workers, and I loved smoking outside on sunny Irvine days watching my car being dried.
I heard (and witnessed) that the Alfie's now is under new ownership. This somehow was immediately apparent as I visited last week.
The prices have changed, and really I don't see the point of raising the prices a few dollars. It sucks for college students.
The service is different, everyone seems rushed and unwilling to break a smile. There are Korean workers inside who are rude. The guys didn't even finish my car, I got PACKAGE B and it includes tire shine, I didn't get tire shine and had to flag down one of the workers to finish the job. None of these gripes existed before the owner change.
Come on, get your act together. Don't ruin what was once a good thing.
*BONUS* There are funny warning signs at the gas pumps with a cartoon of Alfie saying, "Turn off your engine, we don't want to explode!!" -

Rude, impolite arrogant and unprofessional..
These guys fleeced me for my cars battery.
They wont even look me in the eyes when I asked them to refund my money or change the defective product.
People beware of this place, they will ruin your experience. -

Wort carwash.
From the terrible washing service to the idiot manager, this was possibly the worst experience I have ever had. Avoid at all costs or you will have some idiots trying to persuade you to fix your windshield while the rest of your car is neglected. -

It seems they might have changed owners. I remember they offfered really good service back in the late 90s/early 2000s.
I had a car wash (Combo B). I had to tell the guy to clean the tires. He only did that after I asked him.
I am not sure what their car maintenance service is like today. The guy who used to do my oil change is no longer there.
I will give them a try again later this month. -

They do a decent job cleaning your car but it's definitely not the best. I was told that it would take about 25 minutes and it ended up taking an hour which was unexpected because I had other things to do.

RUDE, obnoxious, snooty, lazy, AND AGEIST. I advise every self respecting college student to ignore the seemingly cheap prices and friendly service that Alfie's pretends to offer. I drive a 2006 two tone Ford Expedition and I take very good car of my car, washing it weekly. Alfie's Place is by far the worst and most demeaning experience I have ever had as a customer in the OC.
Their car washes are insanely expensive for the lazy service they actually provide (you can get a better, more detailed car wash at Wash and Go down Main St for as low as $5). Ultimately, you only save a couple of cents when you get the package deal of car wash + gas. I had opted for a special car wash package that included waxing and detailing on top of the normal wash. When they took the towels out of my trunk to vacuum, they threw them on the pavement. Yes, they were beach towels, but they didn't ask me about this before disrespecting my belongings. What's worse is that I had just picked up a dress from the dry cleaners and had it hanging up on the side of my car. When they took it out of my car, instead of hanging it up somewhere, THEY THREW IT ON TOP OF THE TOWELS ALREADY ON THE FLOOR. Sure it was covered in plastic, but they still had the nerve to throw a beautiful dress I was planning on wearing to a formal function that same evening, on the dirty pavement. Not to mention the fact that they did a horrible job taking the trash out of my car. They dirtied all of my personal belongings but failed to throw away a single gum wrapper or crumpled piece of paper. Instead, they just stuffed it all into my front cup holder. I still had sand under most of my floor mats. This particular car wash was NOT "detailed" IN THE LEAST.
Furthermore, the people who work at Alfie's are incredibly insulting and prejudiced. I had just finished a meal over at Tenko in the shopping center across the street and left my credit card there. WOULD YOU BELIEVE IT if I told you that the manager adamantly refused to let me leave the Alfie's premises to go retrieve my card??? He wanted me to leave my purse behind as collateral (which didn't have anything of extreme value in it anyway). And let me just say that it's obvious my car isn't even close to being a piece of cheap junk. Even now I can't understand what type of logic he used to suspect me as the type of person who would abandon an expensive car and skip out on a $100 charge (gas + special car wash package "deal"). 100% idiotic. I had to call up a friend to pick up the card and drop it off to me. It was almost like false imprisonment.
I now believe that I was being treated so poorly because I look very young. I'm sure other Alfie's customers have had much better experiences with the cleanliness of their car following a "detailed" car wash (or else Alfie's wouldn't have the amount of customers it does). And just recently I was filling up my gas at the Chevron across the street and noticed an older couple walking back to Alfie's with doggie bags from a restaurant. I wondered then, if they can enjoy a meal and come back to pick up their car after its wash, WHY WAS I SO RUDELY SINGLED OUT BEFORE?
Weak, overcharged service and horrible, threatening employees do not deserve my business. I urge everyone else to support friendly establishments that are committed to their customer's happiness. Wash and Go is fantastic with quick, quality car washes and competitive rates. They are down Main St. -

THIS PLACE SUCKS BIG TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
NOT ONLY DO THEIR DETAILING WORKS SUCK, THEY ALSO SUCK MONEY OUT OF YOUR POCKET!!!
and the owner is f*ing rude and a total dick.
so here's what happened:
I originally took my car there for an oil change, but he kept telling me that I need my 60k inspection, so I believed him since he's the mechanic and whatever. And then he basically said my car is shit and everything needs to get fixed. He listed 4 jobs and charged me 600 bucks for them. and then he said he had to charge me a $50 deposit so he could get the parts faster and get the jobs done faster. BULLSHIT. and OH he was SOOOOO nice because he said he would waive the inspection fees $80 if i did the repairs over there.
the next day i took my car to another dealership and they told me the Alfie place is a complete rip off because they were charging me $250 more than any other place. so i ended up getting like 7 jobs done at the other dealership at the same price. and then i went back to alfie's and told him that they were charging me too much and i didn't wanna do my services there, and the owner completely told me off and said he wasted his time on my car and his workers got their hands dirty on my car and it was not fair for them. WTF??!! and he told me to pay another 30 bucks to cover for the inspection fees. and he seemed like he had swine flu or something and was sniffing and coughing so i didn't wanna waste time at that place no more so i just paid and left.
oh btw, they freaken charged me $65 for oil change and windshield wipers. i could've gotten this done for 20 bucks at other places!!!!
DO NOT GO TO ALFIE'S. Period. yelp should seriously consider having an option of no stars. UGH. -

Service is too inconsistant for me to go back. I have been coming here for over 1 year. I have a membership but it's a ??? of what I get with each visit. I am sure the employees recognize me and that fact that I do tip them. Sometimes, I get my wheels cleaned. Sometimes, the top of the car is washed. Where did that scratch come from?
Then they started taking shortcuts when the place got busy. They forgot to wipe down the inside. One side of the car door was wipe but not the other side. The windows were not being cleaned. No tire dressing. I would rather have them just run the car through the wash and I will dry it myself by driving on the freeway.
Don't they understand that I have an "unlimited" membership? Which means I can get it washed everyday if I am not happy with their work. if you are not watching the workers, they will shirk everytime. Bye, Bye. -

I went to Alfie's for a car wash and gas mid 08 for the early bird special. When I arrived as always the "manager" tried to up sale you to the 39.99 package then when you get inside there is a extra charge for having a truck. Always a JOKE. Anyway I returned home and noticed a lot of water and watermarks on the front grill. I only live 1.5 miles away. I should have checked before leaving but didn't. At the end of the day its my fault but I felt like they would run it through the machine for me since my girlfriend and I are returning customers. Well I returned and not a chance. The manager told me that I got the car dirty. It was not dirty, it was watermarks from the wash the previous morning. Well I ask him 2-3 times and finally ask him if it was worth losing my families business. He repeated every time that I got the car dirty and it was not their fault. So basically Alfie's is LAME. Go somewhere else when you need your car washed.
