Review from Danesh I.
This place is near and dear to my heart. This place has been an institution in Richmond Hill from when I first lived there in 1987. My last meal on Earth would absolutely have to include a Sicilian slice from Alfie's.
The interior has changed many times over the years, as have the people working behind the counter (going from father to son), but Alfie's has consistently turned out a good slice of pizza from as far back as I can remember.
Every neighborhood in New York has THE pizza joint you HAVE to try, and in my opinion, Alfie's is definitely THE pizza place in all of the 11418 and 11415 area. -

The pizza used to be good. Must have changed owners.
they would only sell me one size pizza, and
They didn't take want to take my order the way I want it. Whatever happened to customer service. -

Delicious. Crispy. Traditional. Must-fold. New York. Pizza.
Recommended Beverage: Orange Soda
And Garlic Knots- with real garlic; not that jarred crap.
Chicken Parm doused in fresh tomato sauce.
And go pick it up yourself- Alfie himself will be there, and he will remember you. See ya soon, Alfie!Listed in: My Neighborhood

Meh. It's no Dani's slice of 'za but it will get you by in a pinch. Sometimes I order delivery/take out from this place. And, despite the fact that I live only a few blocks away...it still takes them forever to get to me. Strange.

What can I say about Alfie's hmmm, it is the best pie in NY. Man this place is great. The service is awesome. The prices are good. And my god the pizza is so great here. The old man makes you feel like home and seems like your grandfather lol. Really nice guy and the best pie in NY.My fav slice is sausage and extra cheese can't go wrong with that.

Brooklyn, NY
I'm not a lunch break person, in that I usually eat throughout the day whenever I'm hungry -- you can bet that I've got my desk and a few drawers in my filing cabinets filled with rations from Trader Joe's.
But on longer work runs where I know I'll be in the office late, I go and order off of Alfie's dinner menu, particularly the orgasmic and filling eggplant parm dinner to go. Because the endorphins and insulin rush from the luscious mozzarella-saturated pieces of breaded eggplant cutlets keep me happy and alert for big project deadlines.
Just eight dollars gets you a large order of eggplant parmesan, salad, dressing, and two heaping bricks of piping hot focaccia bread (see attached picture). Upon making my order, the friendly woman behind the register -- I think it's Alfie's daughter -- looked at me incredulously: "is this all for you?" Nope, one order -- literally -- translates into three meals for me: the eggplant was lunch and dinner, and the salad stayed in tact overnight in the fridge for the following day.
Did I mention that I couldn't even get around to all the focaccia bread? In its garlicky and rosemary glory, I gave one to my coworker to ensure someone would eat it while its fresh.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Review from Carina N.
RICHMOND HILL, NY
The pizza is not as good as it was when I was a kid and Alfie was around working in the place. Though I see comments of people saying Dani's is better, but Dani's sauce is a little sweet in my opinion. We always say well done for our pizza cause they won't cook it like that if we didn't ask. Though hand's down one of the best pizza joints in Queens is Carlo's so look that up!

Kew Gardens, NY
This is a hidden gem of Kew Gardens/Richmond Hill. This is a short walk from Lefferts Blvd and Jamaica ave. They have 1 of the best Sicilian slices you'll ever have. I've ben there a number of times and have yet to try their regular slice. The pizzeria was first started by Alfie and his family has kept the Pizzeria in the family. If you're in the neighborhood, stop by for a fresh slice or one of their delish Eggplant parmesan meals.

Alfies has been in that location since I was a little girl. I remember my grandfather (a native from Italy) visiting Alfie in the shop, sitting there, behind the counter, listening to them speaking Italian. It is, to date, the BEST Sicilian pizza I've EVER had AND.. one of the memories I have of my grandfather that I will carry with me the rest of my life. I don't live in NY but it's SO good to see that it's still thriving.. and serving the Richmond Hill area with the BEST pizza around.

Rego Park, NY
This place is okay when you need a slice and don't feel like walking to Dani's. It was less than two blocks from my apartment so I went there pretty often. For me, the crust is too thick and I'm not so sure about the cheese that they use. It's not bad, it's just not the best. They do have excellent garlic rolls though. The best part about Alfie's is that once a year they host (and pay for) a community block party. It is situated right in front of the store, they sell slices for a buck and have childrens activities and tasty fresh fruit drinks.

The pizza is good. When I worked at the library down the block I had a whole routine with this place. I would take the A train from Downtown Brooklyn where I went to St. Francis College to the J train and walk to Alfie's and get a veggie slice which I ate before I started my shift at the library. I've been going here for years and the pizza has always been solid. And once again a delicious chicken roll. What more can I say?
