Since I first contacted Alex for a sign quote, he was courteous and went out of his way to provide great customer service. Alex's Signs printed multiple aluminum signs of various sizes to hang on my client's outdoor job sites (a general building contractor). Alex also printed us new vinyl cuts to replace lettering on outdated signs.
The job turnaround was quick and Alex gave us a great price. The signs are beautiful - great quality, clean, and demanding of compliments. They are sturdy and have held up to the weather.
Working with Alex is so easy, he is accommodating and has good communication. We won't be going to anyone else for our signs! -

I have to say, I've never had to have office signs made before, so I feel like a total novice. I was at first excited to work with Alex, as he gave the best quote over the phone and seemed very helpful. However, once I went to his shop to have him walk me through materials and prices, he couldn't answer any of my questions about prices for different materials (couldn't even give ballpark figures), then his original quote kept getting higher and higher, and at one point he was so condescending that he actually told me that he wouldn't "let" me install my own sign because I was a woman and there weren't any men in my office who could do it for me. What???!! Then he said installation would cost an astronomimcal price because he would have to close his shop to do it and would lose business because he doesn't have anyone else working with him. I spent 2 of the most frustrating hours with him and left his shop feeling more confused and frustrated than I started.
In any case, I ended up finding other local companies that are charging half the price for much better-looking materials (and cheap installation!) than what he was showing me. He may be able to do great work, but his customer service was extremely lacking and I've never been treated in such a demeaning fashion before by any business. I am an Office Manager with a real estate litigation firm in SF. When I started last October the office was cramped. In January we moved up one floor, to the top floor of the building--a nicer and bigger space. In April we finally got signage for the law firm and our East-Bay based property management group as we have two employees from there working in our SF law firm. Alex and I enjoyed some good banter, and our firm is so pleased with his signage. Big beautiful see-through signs, complete with perfect coloring which he consulted with us on first. Thanks for putting the final touches on our new office, Alex!

Alex was very easy to work with - he's local, all the other vinyl sign companies I called to put a sign on my car are actually in Sacramento or San Jose, he's affordable and he is prompt.
When we got my signs on and realized part of the sign would look better in another color he offered to do the touch up work for free. It was my design and I was to blame but he's making it right. That's why you should support small business in your community.
Anytime I need a sign I am getting it made by Alex. -

Alex showed up on time, worked skillfully, finished early, was careful about obstructing the doorway, and left us with terrific-looking new gold-leaf house numbers on our 1920s-era condo building, which now has serious extra 'curb appeal.' Judging from the other bids we got, it looks like some vendors may price-gouge for this sort of thing, since it's essentially a one-time and permanent improvement (unlike, say, paint); so some people are understandably hesitant to hunt for bargains. But Alex's quote was very reasonable and the workmanship is perfect. We recommend him highly.

Our office needed a reception sign produced and installed on on a very short timeframe for our holiday party. I called multiple vendors in town that could not commit to getting it done in time.
Alex of Alex's Signs Co was very upfront with me about his timeframe, saying that he could not guarantee the sign would be finished in time but he would do his very best. He helped us decide what type of materials we should use and allowed me and my management team to drop by his shop twice to look at different colored vinyls. Very professional and very responsive.
I totally recommend Alex's Signs Co and would use his services again. -

Alex just completed three beautiful signs for my new office (exterior bldg. sign, window sign, interior door plaque). He not only did a fanstastic job, but he was helpful, quick, stayed within my budget, and was overall very enjoyable to work with. I had some ideas of the look that I wanted and Alex greatly improved upon them without changing the style that I was going for. I hope that my business does well enough that I can hire him again to design and install another sign for me! I highly recommend him.

I was tasked with finding a sign company that was local, reputable, reasonably priced and, could turn around at least an estimate on several options of signage. Alex was the only person (out of four) to get me prices within minutes. Since hiring him for the signs, the company I worked for, Gallery Arcane, continue to go to Alex lettering work. I have hired him for my own projects which have included custom font work and, he has been helpful in working with me, even offering suggestions, when potential problems have arose. I will continue to use this company for future projects.

I've done business with Alex for over ten years, and in all that time he has never once let me down, flaked, been late, or overcharged me. He always gives you a good deal, extremely professional, good natured and an all-round upright guy.
He's a one-man operation that's been in business for close to thirty years, and has a wealth of experience that helps him work with you to make your signage the best it could possibly be. He'll do photo signage, magnetic, vinyl, banner, neon, on everything from cars to windows - you name it, he's done it. -

I own a small business in San Francisco and was trying to figure out a way to advertise my business and thought using my van as a "rolling advertisement" would be a great idea. I went through the yellow pages and called several places to inquire about getting a full vehicle wrap. After finding out how many thousands of dollars I would have to shell out for this, I decided to try and come up with some decal advertising ideas that would look good on the side of my van, but would better fit my budget. I was really amazed at how rude these other companies were to me - didn't seem to have time for me and did not seem to care what I wanted, if I wasn't going to spend megabucks or if they were expected to help me to design from scratch. Finally, I found Alex's Sign Company and made an appointment to talk with him about my van. I was pleasantly surprised at how he quickly understood my needs and helped me to come up with the cutest logos, etc for the side of my van in a price range that fit my budget. Alex is very patient and seems to really care if the customer is happy. He sat with me at his computer and we designed the decals together, right then and there! He is so knowledgeable and has been doing this so long that he could tell me what was going to work and what wasn't. To heck with all these other sign companies - Alex is the best - because he knows what he is doing and he treats his customers right. He is a genuinely nice person and that makes the process much, much easier because he builds trust with his clients as he guides you through the process, which can be truly difficult to do for someone like me, who is clearly not a professional designer. Other sign companies won't "waste" their time to help you to achieve what you really want. They will brush you off if you are not sure what you want or if you don't want to spend megabucks, or they will try to shove a design down your throat, and then charge you for it, even if you hate the images they have chosen!

Alex has provided service to the Red and White Fleet for quite a few years now. He has done all kinds of signs, anything from hang up signs to frames on buses. I cannot begin to tell you the stunning quality of his works , and friendly nature we have experienced. Once you step into the sign shop you instantly feel as though you are welcome, not to mention that he is super friendly and has a one on one relationship with each and every one of his clients-unlike other companies where you have to go through different people to get to the right person, and there end up being miscommunications along the way. Alex` s Sign Company is the place for all your signs. The prices are very reasonable-he does not charge you an arm and a leg as do many other companies. Aside from making good signs alex will also take time to sit down with you and design your sign by offering friendly advice, samples, color coordination, and he can even create a design for you if you dont know what you want yet. Alex has done many signs that you would see around the city such as numerous Red and White Fleet signs, the Red and White Fleet signage on back of the City Sightseeing double decker bus tour, a sign for Kaiser, Alioto` s, and many more businesses. What` s amazing is that if you look at signs that have been done 5-10 years ago by Alex they look almost brand new, as they are able to withstand the detrimental effects of the weather.
All in all the Red and White Fleet gives Alex`s Sign Company 5+ starts due to the superior quality of the signs, his hardworking and patient nature, as well as the excellent customer service he provides. Try it, you wont regret it!
