another place I know I have reviewed before but alas the review disappeared.

Love the Lemon Poppy Pancakes @ Alexa's. Actually, I've tried quiet a few items from the menu and am never disappointed.

    Service is always good.

Came here for brunch with my family.  We had a quick 5-10 minute wait.

I ordered a latte and  vegetarian burrito.  My brother got the Willow's scramble and my dad got the Dad's plate per my suggestion.  haha.

The food arrived pretty quickly.  There was no sugar on the table.  My burrito was more like a quesadilla so I think they should rename it.  I liked that the salsa and sour cream were on the side.  The quesadilla was tasty but nothing new.  The potatoes were too salty and I wish there was a little more to it.  Maybe I just go to too many brunches with veggies and other things mixed in with the potatoes. My brothe's onion dill toast was pretty good and my dad likes this place quite a lot.

They looked like they had pretty  interesting pancake selections.

This place is ok and I would come back again.

I got the veggie scramble with cheese. VG. Daughter had the turkey club with bacon. Huge sandwich. Coffee was good. Allison was our server and she's great. Everyone is friendly. This place is always crowded. Definitely worth getting the whole meal vs half and taking it home. My only gripe that there were too many starchy items with my eggs having potatoes and bread on the side. Wish they would offer salad or vegetable as an option. Prices have gone up so two people really can't get out of here for less than $20.

My wife and I visited Alexa's for brunch on Sunday morning and were not disappointed.  The decor is pleasant enough though they have no booths (which we prefer) only tables. Carpet and acoustic tiles help keep the noise level average so you can have a conversation with your table mates.

I was somewhat shocked  by the negative reviews I found on Yelp and decided to keep close track of timing and service quality. Here's our experience; it's 10:30 a.m., though they were quite busy we were seated within 10 minutes. We had about 5 minutes to look over the menus and coffee was brought promptly, then our order was taken .  Food arrived about 12 minutes later.  I chose the Breakfast Burrito which is presented not wrapped like a burrito but more as a soft shelled taco laid on it's side (no matter to me).  My wife decided on a half order of the Country Grub.

Each entree was very satisfying and more than enough food for us (it was more than enough but of course we ate it all anyway).  So if you leave hungry you can only blame yourself. Both our orders came with plenty of red potatoes, cooked so that they were just firm enough to hold together but not so well grilled that they  began to look or taste burned.  I appreciated that the salsa and sour cream were served on the side with the burrito so I could add what I wanted.

I read some reviews than mentioned bland food. Not these menu items.  There were reviews siting snotty waitstaff, nope not today.  Slow service?  Everyone on the floor was hustling their butts and they were pleasant to talk with.   I saw one review that complained of being charged a dollar extra for toast with the eggs benedict. It's eggs benny you moron, I've never seen a restaurant that included toast with eggs benny...you get an english muffin with the egg on top. That's how it's done.

We used our entertainment book coupon for a free entree but would come back here even without a coupon.  Since we live in Seattle we also liked the availability of FREE on street parking within a half block of the restaurant, thank you City of Bothell!

I work nearby and have given this place a try four times for lunch over the past 5 months. I'm sad to report that everything I've had (the Thai Chicken Salad, Meatloaf sandwich, Curry Chicken Salad, and some chicken sandwich) have all been extremely BLAND. I'm taking very little flavor for the amount of ingredients they have on them. I don't know if they're just not salting and seasoning enough through the cooking process, but seriously.. add a dash of salt. It will bring out the flavors! It seems a lot of people have commented on this blandness in the food, perhaps Alexas's should take note!

I'm eating the Thai Chicken Salad right now actually, and I'm pretty sure it's the same chicken salad they use in the Curry Chicken Salad, but with "Coconut Peanut" dressing instead of the curry dressing. It pretty much tastes exactly the same. Which is to say it tastes like nothing. I had to douse it in Sriracha to give it any flavor at all. Lame.

I gave them two more tries .. I so want to love this place!

    But now I hate them.

And it's a cryin shame. The cooks seem to have their game together  -- but the snotty servers and downright stoopid nickle-and-dime-me-til-your-tip-disappears policies actually put me in a bad mood. (true story -- they charge you extra for the toast that comes with breakfast, because, get this -- the Benedict comes on an english muffin. *facepalm*)

I guess my years in the food service industry have poisoned me into a grinchey grouch.. but honestly, I have expectations, especially from a simple cafe with at least 4 people on the floor at any given time... and I won't give any more money  ($17 for 1/2 order of eggs Benedict, coffee and a mediocre tip?? AHHHH!) to an establishment that consistently puts me in a bad mood. over BREAKFAST!

    Goodbye forever.

THIS is what comfort food is all about! I have never had a bad dish from them, nor have I needed to send something back for a minor mistake (ex: tomatoes on my sandwich).

Breakfast: ALWAYS order bacon haha. Their bacon is thick and meaty. Their pancakes are delicious and have a variety of flavors. I am not a fan of eggs benedict, but a lot of my family members love it and have said that Alexas have the best around!

Lunch: their hot meatloaf sandwiches are to die for! I am also a huge fan of their curry chicken salad. I always order their potato salad for their side (and FYI, Alexas doesn't have any fried food, so no fries as a side) because it is so dilly and tangy and just plain yummy.

I've eaten lunch here before and stopped in for breakfast on a Saturday morning around 9:30am.  The restaurant was VERY busy and I waited five minutes for a table.

I had coffee in hand quickly (important in the morning!), ordered, and was very impressed when the food arrived approximately 12 minutes later.  The Eggs Benedict was tasty, and came with a generous portion of quartered and seasoned potatoes.

So, assuming a baseline of 3 I added one star for speedy service and good food.

I don't think I'd want to come here for breakfast with a group larger than four to six people.  It might take a long time to get a table on the weekend.

The brunch here was pretty average.  I had the veggie breakfast burrito which had the standard eggs, onions, mushrooms, and salsa.  The good thing about it was that it had plenty of gooey cheese.  The bad thing about it was that the tortilla wrapped around it was toasted to a crisp so it didn't have any of the chewy goodness that I was looking for.

Service was pleasant and the space is cheery.  I would come here again if I was in the area, but it's definitely not a destination brunch spot.

Really wanted to like this place, not a lot of choices locally and good first impression walking in the door.

Sunday, about 11 AM.  Seated very quickly and the place seems to be humming along.  A bright and airy space with a homey feel, and I can understand why someone could become a regular and enjoy it.  Service was quick and the menu had nice touches, history of the space, etc.  Those are the 3 star parts.

The menu oddly didn't include omelets -- egg choices but "the scramble" is the majority of the menu, their basic play.  OK then, let's play to that.  Denver scramble and red potatoes.

The red potatoes were undercooked, too firm by far.  The eggs, while not rubbery, were not fluffy in the least.  They included 3/4" rounds of raw red onions and the cheese was put on the plate at the end of cooking and mostly un-melted.  It was neither inedible nor delicious.  I would say nothing ill about a relative who cooked this for me, but for a bit over $10 at a restaurant, I cooked have done better at home trading the cooking and dishwashing time for the commute.

The staff was very efficient, great at the beginning of the meal and not so much at the end.  There was a bit of hovering and trying to take the plate away as we ate and talked while still poking at the food, even with no line and 25% of the table empty,  This seems like a place that would let you linger, but the feeling was that they really wanted the tables to turn over -- find yourself a coffee shop.

For food and not paying off the relaxed homey feeling, two stars.

The sandwiches and salads here are excellent and fresh, with large portions, and are very flavorful. I came here the other day with a friend for lunch, and sampled both the turkey wrap and the curry chicken salad. In the past I've had the curry chicken on a croissant, which was also very good. Was it worth the $10.99 they charged? Mm, seems a bit steep for lunch, but it was darn good.

The atmosphere is a bit weird, being a large room with tables, it feels pretty cavernous. The bright art on the walls and the friendly staff helps to make up for the odd space, though, and there are few places as good for lunch in Bothell.

there are two reasons, and two reasons alone, that i would come to Alexa Cafe.

    Reason 1: their breakfast burrito.
it's a carbloaded heaven that is dripping with sausage, potatoes, eggs, sauce, cheese and goody-goody-gooeyness.  it's the tastiest thing in bothell and will satiate you until dinner.  unless you get done eating it really fast then want another one.

    Reason 2: Groupon
yes.  groupon often has a deal of the day with alexa cafe or other stuff where it's like $12 for $20 or something like that.  Great deal for a lunch with a bestie or other co-workers. :)  because the bill will be like $5 and so it's worth it.

otherwise, i wouldn't come here.  because. well.  everything is overpriced or not that tasty.

My folks have been raving about this place for the last 6 months, and I finally was up in the north end on a Saturday morning.

This is the PERFECT neighborhood spot. Friendly low-key service, delicious food, great baked goods, extremely kid friendly, and you never feel rushed, which is SO nice for a Saturday brunch. The menu even has a little write up about how the owner wanted a place where you could sip coffee and chat with friends. We saw someone walk by with a platter of gorgeous cinnamon rolls...they weren't listed on the menu, but we asked our waitress if we could order one. She said absolutely, and said she'd run over and get us one right away, as they were still warm from the oven. Yummy with a lovely cream cheese frosting. Eggs Benedict was quite good, with a lemon-y hollandaise sauce, which I prefer. Plus, they offer it "vegetarian" with avocado and tomato, which was lovely. My pal said the salmon scramble was excellent, and her cousin's order of french toast looked wonderful, too.

My pals were running late, so intended to wait in the entryway, but staff assured me that my seating early wouldn't be an imposition. So it was lovely as I got to drink my coffee and chill out while waiting for my friends to arrive. While Alexa's was steadily busy, they always seemed to have about 2 tables open, so NO LONG WAITS! And they offered to bill us individually, if we preferred, which can be super helpful in larger groups.

There's a big box of different toys to help keep kids occupied and lots of high chairs available. I love the comfortable feel of it, as not all of their coffee mugs match. There's the big parking lot behind this block of main street shops, which is great, too.

I come here from breakfast on the weekends, coffee and Danica.

You walk it and it's super comfy. Families and big tables. It's loud but oh well...it's just chatter from all the happy families and babies.

Yes sometimes there is a line but I've never waited more then 10 minutes. If you don't want a line then don't go to a place that is family friendly or eat at home.

I love Danica...she runs this joint...the best...always. Always super friendly and quick as lightening...dollface.

I love their scrambles and coffee...Queen Anne and the Caprese are my favs. You get a lot of food and toast. Nothing has ever been under cooked or over cooked.

The oatmeal.. I suggest a cup with a side of ham and fruit versus the bowl. That bowl has kicked my ass many times...can never finish it..no matter how hard I try.  Blueberry for me please ;-)

Breakfast burrito is mighty...my man friend usually orders this with blackbeans and avacado instead of sour cream...they always make it without hesitation.  It's delish too....not overly packed with cheese, perfect scrambled eggs and a not to much tortila.

It's huge though eating half makes me feel like I'm gonna have a food baby and then slip into a food induced coma.

I like this place because "You want to be where everybody knows your name".

Alexa's is a typical small town cafe - where you see neighbors and friends.  Waitstaffs know your name and bring you your favorites as you get a table. They have the typical breakfast/lunch menu, the food quality is great: fresh ingridients, warm muffins and cinnamon rolls, latte, and so on.  I rarely have lunch there, but the menu looks delicious.  It's my Cheers in Bothell.

We LOVE to have breakfast at Alexa's! We've eaten here a dozen times over the last 18 months and the food is always wonderful. Everything is homemade and is a step above most restaurants. Portions are always substantial and service is friendly and good. The only reason it's a four star is that it's a little expensive ....but the food makes up for it and we'd rather pay a little more for great food!

UGH!!!  I returned recently because I wanted some good coffee.  I drug my husband and friend along for breakfast, even though it was a Saturday morning and the wait was at least 20 minutes long.  The wait was whatever.  The food was what was really bad.

I ordered the Thai Chicken Salad (I know it was breakfast, but It was the only semi-healthy thing I could find on the menu).  The chicken salad was supposed to have a coconut-peanut dressing.  That sounded delcious to me, so I was happy.  My husband also decided to go with non-breakfast and ordered a burger.

Our food took forever to arrive.  When it did arrive, I immediately regretted our decision going there. FIrst off, the prices are entirely too high for the quality of food.  THe coconut-peanut sauce was watery and had no flavor at all.  No hint of sweetness, nor any hint of seasoning (I'm talking salt here).  It was sooo bland.  I thought maybe it was because they gave me watery greens (which they did), so I asked for a side of dressing.  The dressing arrived, and it was just as bland as what was on the salad.  I decided to add a little salt and a half a sugar packet.  It at least made it edible.  At any rate, that dressing could not have been tasted after it was made, and the Alexa's should be embarrassed for serving such crap.

As for my husband's  burger, the patty was thin and rubbery.  It seriously was the saddest looking patty I've ever seen at a restaurant.  Maybe at a fast food joint it would be acceptable, but serving it at a Restaurant/Cafe??  ANother embarrassment.  Needless to say, we won't be back.

Quick service on a Saturday morning.

The lox plate had a healthy over abundance of salmon. I could barely get it to fit on the bagel. The cream cheese was in one of those squeeze pouches...which kind of killed the presentation.

The smoked salmon scramble was tasty, and comes with some pan fried red potatoes.

I had a great dining experience at this location. My chicken sandwhich was very tasty and the clam chowder soup was great. The sandwhich had a wonderful wheat bun, good amount of toppings and the perfect amount of sauce to allow for a great taste, but not be to messy to enjoy.

The clam chowder soup was good, but no Ivars quality. The portion of soup served with the sandwhich was appriroiate.

Was disapointed to pay $2.00 for a can of Coca Cola, wish the menu would of stated canned soda so you would know upfront there were no refils.

The service from Blake was great. She was very personable, friendly and knowledgable about the menu. I would return to this location again and would recommend this to friends as a great local eatry to enjoy.

I changed my mind! I freaking LOVE having breakfast here! The Veggy Benny is fantastic! (although really, it has tomato and avocado which is actually fruit but I'm sure that if they called it "fruit benny" people would be weirded out.) Anway, so good! I love that I can have a delicious latte with my breakfast!

Expect a wait when you come for breakfast. What I do is make my fiance go in there while I find a parking spot (oh yeah, while there's a lot of parking available behind the restaurant, there are also a lot of cars so parking can be a bitch.) It helps with time. But the wait is worth it.

Alexa's is good for one thing....tomato basil soup!!! It is out of this world.

The rest is very basic. Stuff you can make at home and most doesn't seem that homemade, but, maybe out of a can. That tomato basil soup though is incredible! It IS handmade, and, it's so good.

The decor is a bit dated, but, who goes for the decor? It's always clean and that matters to me more than decor!

I had breakfast here last Sunday.  It was a lovely experience.

We all enjoyed our food very much.  I had the Crab Benedict and it was delicious!  Too many potatoes came with it though-totally unnecessary!  My mom really enjoyed her Chicken Teriyaki burger and everyone else in our party said they liked their meals very much.  Ok, so it's not life-changing food but it is still good-
    and they take reservations!
    Also-
Our young server was very, very nice.  We hadn't seen each other in years and so visited long after we were done eating.  Our server checked on us from time to time to make sure that we didn't need anything else and encouraged us to sit and enjoy our visit.  We never felt rushed.
    I'd go back!

We came in for a consultation to try the food, I had some GREAT Eggs Benedict, and my fiance' had a pretty good cheeseburger!

OK- I am going to be brutally honest. I don't like this place at all. I have been 2x. I know I wanted to give them a fair chance before I yelped them. First time super slow service. i can look over this if the food is good, but it was not.

First trip- Taco salad- gross and they serve the salsa and sour cream in plastic round containers-tacky. I was trying to eat healthy and it worked because I did not eat  but 3 bites.
Second trip- Chicken sandwich- never had a more disgusting thing EVER! Dry and no flavor. My husband ordered an chile relleno burger- his response after we left was never going there again. I totally agree. Fake hollandaise sauce they say is homemade. My daughter french toast sticks were decent (how can you mess that up), but the syrup had a major chemical aftertaste. She did not finish. We went there after my daughters soccer game we were all starving and we left starving. Not fun after the bill was over $60.00 for crap food.

I had high expectations for this place, although I do not know anyone who I know that has recommended it to me. Just see a lot of ads for them in local papers and the name is cute and so is the little girl, but the food was a total disappointment. Service was really bad both times too.

I know this is a small town, but that does not mean you can't have good quality food. It's not that difficult people. There are too many good places on the same street to go here.

Their pastries are just about the greatest on main street in Bothell! I come here for coffee and small breakfast goods in the morning since it is across the street from my work and i just love it. Service is awesome and the atmosphere of the restaurant is really relaxed. I have yet to eat any meals off the menu but hopefully I will get a chance to sit down and eat soon! Food:  Good selection of basic breakfast and lunch items.  My husband recently had a bacon, egg, and cheese scramble, while I had a french toast breakfast with bacon and scrambled eggs.  Everything was fine, but nothing spectacular.  My french toast was made with a nice thick slice of sourdough, but there wasn't a lot of the egg covering that I really like on french toast.  My bacon was a bit overcooked and too crispy for my liking.  I actually prefer bacon that is a bit fatty, soft, and chewy.  My husband's scramble was fine and so were the home fries it came with, but again nothing too special.  I thought the portions seemed to be on the smaller side as well.

Service:  We were sat quickly and placed our orders within a few minutes of being seated.  Our coffees and waters took a while to get to our tables however.  Our server also forgot my request for extra creamer for my coffee.  Food came relatively quickly afterwards.

Value:  Decently priced, but portions seemed a bit smaller than other restaurants that served similar items with either comparable prices or even lower prices than Alexa's.

Ambiance:  Alexa's is in the heart of downtown Bothell.  It is a very charming, cute, and quaint restaurant with lots of country-inspired decorations and flair.  Real neighborhood feel.  I bet they get lots of regulars.

Sometimes Alexa's can totally hit the spot.  Nothing fancy, just a straightforward menu without any surprises.  But there are times when every bite you take is one of regret.

Service can be iffy.  Again, sometimes its spot-on; other times you wait forever for your food to arrive.

Since I work in Kenmore, it's convenient and a somewhat decent lunchspot.  Just don't set your expectations too high, and know that your entire experience could be different if you go on a different day.

They recently had some kitchen renovations, so hopefully that will help with their consistency issues.

It is really good but, the menu is limited. The sandwiches are superb and so are the scrambles! Thinking about it makes me want one right now! They have a wide variety of tasty teas on the table. The staff is very friendly and will sometimes forget to check on you but, won't mind if you ask them for something.

It is very popular so it is VERY CROWDED in the morings and on weekends. They close at 4 which stinks if you want to pick some sandwiches up for dinner.

OK...three times a charm and I am sold on this place (granted I wouldn't take the time to write a review if I wasn't sold on how much I enjoyed my visits;-D).

I came back after a nice run from Bothell to Woodinville and back.  This time I had the banana french toast...which was simple yet satisfying but it wasn't just the food this time.  I appreciate the ambiance of the place...and it looks like I'm not the only one that thinks so...so many different people come to patron this cafe, groups of friends, young and old couples, mother & daughters, brothers and fathers...I love it...its a nice place to people watch and enjoy all that is good in the world...the love of family and friends and a great staff and menu to bring it all together!

Thanks Alexa...you've found a loyal patron!

I was able to fill up my stomach with good food for a good price. I enjoy reading through the books while waiting for a table to clear.
I've only gone here on the weekends and I've had to wait a minimum of 5 minutes each time, so far so good, I've enjoyed it the few times I have been there.

Just tried this place for lunch today with very pleasant results.
Alexa's Cafe delivered a lengthy menu.  I arrived shortly before noon and they were still serving breakfast as well as lunch.
I enjoy a good breakfast for lunch and Alexa's Cafe delivered a delicious, well balanced meal.  I ordered the caprese half scramble with fruit and sour dough toast.  Yum.
I would like to go back for a true breakfast and try their lemon poppy seed pancakes...they sound extremely edible!
If your looking to support a local business while having a decent meal Alexa's Cafe is a great place to sample the same.

This is a great place to go for soup.  I've never been dissatisfied with their soups and have bought them by the quart on a couple occassions.  Their breakfasts are also good.

Their other food and sandwhiches can be hit and miss.  I've had a few sandwhiches there that were just mediocre.

As a Bothell native, I have grown up going to Alexa's and I have to say the only complaint I have is that it can be super busy at times and it will take a while to get your food.

Now that's out of the way, I love this little cafe!  The servers are friendly and know everything on the menu.  The food is always good - I've never had something I didn't enjoy.  I especially love their Venetian scramble - so delish!  They also rent out their space for private parties and they have awesome catering.  What a great local cafe - I love it!
