I'd been going there for years; their gas prices are almost always competitive. I've been having inspections done there.
Visited on Friday, Jan13 for a state safety inspection. I was accompanied by my 25-year-old mentally retarded son. After waiting approximately 25 minutes in line, my turn approached. It took almost a minute to convince my son to get out of the vehicle, during which the inspector told me to come back another time without him.
My son got out, and went to the front of the vehicle, asking questions.
The inspector then handed back my registration and told me he would not inspect my car -- he was "afraid". He couldn't have been too afraid; he then turned his back on us and went to the parked vehicle awaiting inspection behind me. He would not tell me what he was "afraid" of.
To my point of view, he didn't want to deal with a mentally handicapped customer, even though *I* was the one who needed the inspection.
I went inside to tell the owner, who seemed less than concerned that he had lost a loyal customer.
So I've let my friends and network know why I'll run out of gas and call AAA before I'll ever spend another dime at this place.
