Review from Mark B.
A little gem in the city of Rolla. My family and I were driving through on a Friday night and needed dinner. We called ahead and had two excellent pizzas ready five minutes after we sat down. Really liked the house special! The place is pretty big inside and really hopping but we still had excellent service. Four stars for food plus an extra for perfect service handling a quick stop off the highway!

This place is great for a smaller town!!! The restaurant is really spacious and is like a Chicago Bar in style, taste, and quality atmosphere.
We really liked the food - we ordered the homemade lasagna which was seriously really excellent - the sauce was rather generous but tasty and well balanced in flavor.
Loved the garlic bread on the side to dip into the sauce.
We ordered the Alex's Favorite Pizza that came with a gooey and yummy NY-like cheese, Greek Sauce, onions, and green peppers. This was quite good! I liked the dry but for some reason tasty braided crust - ican't explain why - it was dry but I kept eating it!
The service is fast and very nice. -

5/23/2012: Great Family owned place that's been around a long time...& smelled sooo good in there! We had fried ravioli for apps that were great! Then we had gyro greek salads that were excellent! Great value, great service...want to come back for pizza next time we drive thru town!

I went to school in Rolla and this place is alright. For being a local pizza place it's great but I just never developed a taste for it. It's a pizza place and it also serves greek food which I liked the best. There's also things like philly cheese steaks and italian food. The cheese ball appetizers are delightful and it's the best place in town for toasted ravioli. Pizza...meh. Everything else was pretty good. Great place to gather for a dinner meeting and the people working there are fantastic.

Normally Alex's is a 5 star but I have to say I was pretty ticked off yesterday eating here. Yes, I understand they are extremely busy being St. Patty's and all. We had 3 kids and 5 adults with us and were told it was going to be a 45 minute wait. No big deal. I understand it's St. Pattys and the parade was going on. The host put our name on the list and we had 6 names before ours. Literally, at least 50 people came in and walked past us and didn't ever come out. I asked him if there was a door or something out back and he said that there wasn't. An hour and a half later we are finally seated. We get sat down after all the stress and they come over and said," oh sorry can you move, we have a table that wants to sit near another table." Are you freaking kidding me? At this point I feel like Ashton Kutcher is gonna pop out of the back and tell me I'm being punked. Nope! So we move all the kids and go across to another table that's surrounded by drunk college kids. Awesome. We ordered some cheese balls which are by the way a must have!! The manager did send over a second order of them since we so kindly moved. We had the house special pizza which I believe had mushrooms, peppers, beef and a meat lovers pizza. My favorite pizza here is the gyro one. It's legitimate Greek food and delicious. Usually it's a good place to come to. This place is near and dear to my heart because my parents first date was here. I'll come back because I do love you Alex's but you need to work on your preparation for St. Pattys. It's the same time every year so it should not be this big of an issue.

When I think of a "college pizza" place: I think of a slightly grungy, hole in the wall restaurant thats open 'till 4am that has your classic onion rings, cheese sticks, pitchers of beer, and yummy yummy greasy pizza.
Okay so I don't know what people in Rolla consider a college pizza place, but this restaurant way exceeded my expectations! My sister and I sat down for lunch, and the seating area had a really great ambiance.
We shared a medium Mediterranean pizza, and for sides she got the Greek salad and I had the spanakopita. The pizza was delicious and filling and gosh I could eat spanakopita for the rest of eternity if it were possible! My sister's only gripe with the Greek salad was that she wished that she ordered the dressing on the side because the salad was drowning in it but it was still enjoyable.
Lucky lucky college students in Rolla for their top notch pizza joint! I'm looking at you Boston with your thousands of college kids and greased out pizza places, take notice! -

LOVE this place! The crust is phenomenal...braided like old style pizza should be. The pizza is made with a tangy/spicy sauce and a combo of cheeses that add a deeper flavor. The Greeks that run this place know how to put together incredible gyros. The Greek salad is just okay...served with bottled Italian dressing. The "Greek Pizza" is my fave...lots of feta, sliced tomato and black olives....I add green peppers. There are other menu items that are pretty good...toasted ravioli, pasta, spanakopita etc.
Places like this are hard to find. The owner is on site and working the dough himself. The place has a hometown feel about it. Local families and college students pack the place Friday, Saturday and Sunday's. Definitely a great place for beer and pizza. Extremely informal and comfortable. -

Yelp Review #701 (keke)
Alex's is the BEST Greek Pizzeria ever!!! I grew up eating it (back in the 80's) and am so glad it's still putting out the same, delicious food! My favorite 2 things to order there are the Greek pizzas and the gyros! Love the family that runs it, too! They're the best. :)
Even though I live across The States now and my parents live in the Springfield, MO area, I make it a point to drive up to Rolla every once in a while to visit friends and eat at Alex's. Looking at the pictures that people have posted... I'm wishing I had some right now. Can't wait for the next time that I get up to Rolla!
It's good for dates, family dinners, big groups and children. It's good for everyone...
See ya there! -

We found this place while driving through Rolla, headed home. Great find! We ate the chicken florentine pizza. Great mix of flavors. Atmosphere was good for a casual meal, friends, family, casual date, etc. The cheese balls were great (maybe a little pricey for fried cheese) and if you want something you can't get elsewhere try them!
Service was definitely a little sketch. We had to ask for our waitress to place our order, get refills, and to get our check. I wouldn't go if you're short on time. -

Pretty good pizza! Its thinner crust but really good. Their Greek sausage is tasty. Good place to go with guests.

Many will argue that it is the best pizza in Rolla. I would have to agree. The prices are not cheap compared to Papa John's, Little Ceasars, or Imos, but your getting quality when it comes to their pizzas.
I have also tried their Greek salad and it seemed close to how a real Greek would make it. Very tasty. I have no experience with any of their other food items.
The service is generally good. Drinks were always refilled as needed. -

Alex's is one of those college town hangouts - a place where students and townies can come together over a great pizza.
The pizza here is greek style - thin crust with a light sauce, cut into squares. It's easily the best pizza in Rolla - I always stop in here when I make it back to town. Additionally, they have other specialties - greek salads, gyros, baklava, along with hamburgers and other grilled food.
Alex's can get quite busy on a Friday/Saturday night...but if you call ahead, you're order will be ready when you get there! -

This place has surprisingly good pizza. Good flavor with a thin crust. You are pretty limited in your choices in Rolla. If you in town for some reason, this would be the place to grab a nice meal.

It's a pizza place, and more! Easily the best pizza place in town. Yes there's an IMO's but Alex's is totally different. (I'm from St. Louis, I know I should be against anything that isn't IMO's,lol).
From pizza to pasta to salad to gyro's Alex's has it all. The prices are higher than your average pizza place, but you get what you pay for and at Alex's you get high quality, fresh food!
This is the perfect place for families or just a night out with friends. -

Really nothing special. The pizza might be good for a small city in Missouri, but compared to good pizza it doesn't stand up. It also doesn't help that they got our pizza wrong and brought it out knowing so.

Wow! On a recent visit to the in-laws from Seattle I read the reviews on Alex's and the picture on yelp of the pizza looked great. MUCH to my surprise, spinach cheese pie and greek salad (two of my favorites) were on the menu. Growing up in Detroit with tons of amazing greek food I was skeptical. Both were truly some of the best I've ever had, I would come back daily for that spinach pie! Pizza was also great. Fantastic service as well!

I go here almost every time I'm in Rolla. Nice braided pizza crust. Good spaghetti. Nice, fast service. Big dining area. I've never had to wait for a table.
