I've walked by this place a lot and always wondered if it was any good, so we went in and got a take-out menu. Recently we used a great coupon from the take-out menu and got a large cheese pizza plus a small order of chicken tenders and a 2-liter soda for $14.95.
The Good: Online ordering, free delivery with only a $9.00 minimum, large cheese pizza by itself is only $9.95. The restaurant has an extensive menu as it also has Greek cuisine. Our large cheese pizza had a delicious scent of garlic about it, and the chicken tenders were fresh, juicy, and there were a LOT of them.
The Bad: I wouldn't call anything "bad" here from my limited experience...
The Meh: The large pizza was not so large, and the crust was like a frozen pizza you could buy in a grocery store. I'm talking perforated dough, flat, no-personality crust. It was ok but nothing great.
Bottom line: I wouldn't order pizza here again, although the other menu items, especially the Greek stuff, look good. I'd definitely try those if I'm feeling lazy and want to order in food. Two-and-a-half stars rounded up to three because the chicken tenders were good.
I decided to order some Alex Pizza and Grill on a disgusting and rainy September evening, as I had never ordered here before, it happened to be on Foodler, and there was a 20% off coupon.
It took them about an hour and a half to get to my apartment, though my primary concerns aren't about that, as I can understand the wait considering that they probably had a decent amount of orders on a rainy and disgusting evening. Even when the guy made me come down to meet him outside, I understood, as it's hard to find parking outside my building.
However, it's the food that makes this place just a one star attraction. I ordered a calzone with pepperoni and broccoli, and buffalo fries.
The calzone that came was just a cheese calzone. There was no pepperoni or broccoli. Now, maybe it's just the way the orders are printed on Foodler, though in my use of the site, I've never had another restaurant forget the ingredients. However, considering the storm and how long I'd have to wait, I decided to just suck it up and eat the dang thing.
It wasn't that good of a calzone. The cheese tasted like overprocessed elementary school cheese, and the calzone looked like a sad little elementary school calzone (or, what one would expect an elementary school calzone to look like). While it helped that the marinara was there for easy dipping, it didn't add much to the overall calzone, making it no more than a cheezy fail.
On to the buffalo fries. These sounded cool because, I mean, who doesn't like buffalo? It's spicy, it's great when it comes on wings and tenders, what can really go wrong with that? It's really too bad that these were all fries, no buffalo. I could barely taste a hint of spicy seasoning in these, but nothing all that exciting.
Considering the 20% off coupon, I didn't pay that much, and it was about the same as had I paid for a cheese-only calzone. But it still wasn't worth it for what I got, and I won't order from them again, because even with all of the screwups and time issues, the food just wasn't that good.
