Wow, this place does not look like anything would be appetizing form this store and I am very surprised not a lot of people have mentioned it. When I walk in I feel like I am at a flee market. There are different random items being sold on the walls where the meat is cut. And I hate to say it but it really does not look like the cleanest place at all because I was there and saw that the refrigerators were not cleaned and had pecks of food everywhere.
With that being said I still ate and enjoyed their empanadas!!! Yummy, Yummy, Yummy, a friend mentioned these empanadas over a year ago and I was able to try them back then and since I was in the neighborhood, I had to investigate myself.
To be honest the place looks dingy which makes me not really want to come back, but man oh man if I cant replicate their recipe at home I AM DEFINITELY COMING BACK, yey that good.
They would have gotten 5 stars if they cleaned the place up a little because ALL of the staff are SUPPPER NICCCCEE!!!! -

Amazing value for a delicious meal! We got empanadas: ham and cheese, spinach, and beef. We took them home for lunch, had two each and def enjoyed it. I would come back again. The staff is really helpful and friendly.

It's $1.21 for a tasty empanada. Homemade style to the nine. Beef empanada has pieces of egg, tiny ones, and a sliver of jalapeno that is more of a garnish than a heat seeking chile. The one I liked was the chicken empanada. Buttery soft on the outside, warm meaty inside that when you put some drops of hot sauce on it you'll be set! Really good stuff. Empanadas are croissant looking goody than a real meal if you ask me. It'll fool ya. It's thee original hot pocket! Caliente Empanada!
A lot of Argentinian wines sold here too. From 3.99 to 29.99. Good people over there.
The are only 3 or 4 stools inside this meat market which is rare. Also before I left I bought some yerba mate rosamonte brand. Now I can go into yerba mate but I'd rather you check it out for yourselves. It's not a drink you just try like tea rather you have to invest some time and acquire the taste for it. Which is why you probably don't hear much about it or aren't able to find it at your local tea or coffee shops. The key is a good bombilla otherwise you get stems and leaves in your mouth. Anyway, lots of mate's to choose from. Orange mate even! Affordable prices too. -

Fresh, delicious empanadas for a buck and some change. Try the chicken ones - they're addictive!

Sometimes, sometimes, you only get the truth from someone who's drunk. It just might be that drunken words are the truest words ever spoken.
So. That said. A couple of weeks ago:
I'm deep into a gladly lengthy happy hour with some old friends and we're talking with some new friends, so-called. I've had more than a few, and I'm speaking bullshit-free. So is everybody.
Up comes the topic of Argentinian food- precisely, empanadas. Our freshest new friend in our huddle of honesty is 5 feet 9 inches of dark-and-pretty in a sharp pair of heels. She says: Hey, I know the BEST place for Argentine empanadas. THE BEST. We say: Yeah? where? She says: Oh, I could tell you but then I would have to kill you then grins sharp as her shoes, then says: Okay, this is your lucky day. Alex on Victory, she says.
She was drunk. This was clear. We could see this; I knew this but I also knew I was interested in this best place for Argentine empanadas. But Alex on Victory? Huh? W...T...H... Did... She... Say... scrolled my mind... Victory... Alex... or was that Alice? What the.....
So. That said. A couple minutes later:
I circled back around to what is Alex and what is Victory and she cleared it up for me and it all made sense- happy hour over, happy day. Because, hey, I was now in-the-know. I now knew the best place. THE BEST. Rare treasure revealed to me and rare truth told, within a week I ran I raced I went of course to Alex Carniceria Argentiana on Victory Boulevard. Their empanadas are the best I've had, ever. Ever.
And that in this instance is the sober truth. Sometimes, sometimes, that happens too. -

This is a little gem on the valley/ The meat is great, free of grease and junk, that in the regular market they put it just to make more weight. They are really nice people and their empanadas and pizza are the best! You have a little space if you want to eat something, They have nice sandwiches and some delicacies from the south. But those empanadas! THEY ARE GREAT! Good peoople, good prices, what else can I say? C'mon, let's go and try it, you will love it!

Great little place. Excellent selection of meats for Asados at a good price (Butcher), as well as a good range of imported goodies, mostly Argie but also a few things from Spain, Portugal, and Brazil from time to time. Good selection of mate, and they have empanadas that are decent (my mom makes the best, so I can't really compare jaja).
Good prices, and the MEAT. Trust me. -

WOW, good selection of Yerba Mate. In olden days, people drank this warm concoction (made from a member of the holly family) out of gourds while passing down mythological tales to their friends and family. It was tradition, and it was lovely. In more recent times, while browsing a Argentinian Store, I was enticed to drink this tea-like substance by a nice girl who bore a strong resemblance to Frida Kahlo. After I admitted that doctor's orders had taken me off of caffeine, she told me that it was completely void of said offending compound. "Frida" brought the giant chilled cup to the table; I was immediately struck by the abundance of detritus on its pearl-like surface. I added some raw sugar to the cup and drew a long, slow pull of sweet, almost-tea-but-not-quite goodness. "It's almost like tea, but not quite," I told my girlfriend. Bless this heavy-browed goddess of the natural-foods café for showing me this lighted path through the dark jungle of a tea-less life! A new tradition can now be born.
Upon my return to the mainland, my curiosity piqued, I looked up "yerba mate" on Wikipedia. "Mate products are sometimes marketed as 'caffeine-free' ... based on a claim that the primary active xanthine in mate is 'mateine', erroneously said to be a stereoisomer of caffeine ... 'Mateine' is an official synonym of caffeine."
Damn you, Eyebrows. -

This place rocks! I came across it looking for some yerba mate and accessories and I got a great deal on a starter kit. if you are into mate, they have tons of brands and great prices on it. this place is a butcher shop with great cuts of meat. they also make pizzas and sandwiches as well as the traditional Argentine empanadadas which are to die for. a buck each how can you go wrong? they are decent sized too. beef, chicken, spinach, and ham and cheese. made to order. or you can take the prepped ones home and make them there for that fresh out the oven taste. the sandwiches here are really good. I had a steak sandwich for like 4 bucks. it was good sized. toasty bread, grilled steak and onions with tomatoes and mayo. simple and delicious. the milanesa sammie was great as well. the absolute best bang for your buck in the area!
they have a really great wine section too if you are into argentinian wines. all prices too. friendly staff and a great over all expericence. I keep going back!!! -

Well, it's not a restaurant that's for sure. I was expecting the prices to be more affordable. The empanadas were good and so were their prices, but I ordered a sandwich that really disappointed me... it pretty much only came with a slice of meat, a piece of lettuce and a slice of tomato on sliced bread. The sandwich was much too pricey for the size and taste. I would not recommend this place.

I decided to go there because of previous remarks of peruvian food. The peruvian food that they sell is very basic and can be found in a mexican market. My 12 mile drive was a waste. The good thing was the empanadas for $1.09 each but the peruvian beer like cristal or cusquena cost $8.30 for a 6pack. With tax that is $9.28 each. I was a few miles away from BevMo but atleast i got 5 empanadas and two peruvian 6 packs for $25.

Yerba Mate: This is where you go to buy the real shit! The stuff you can't find unless you go to Argentina or know someone that can smuggle it for you.
