When I go out for a drink I go to the Alehouse. I love the atmosphere, it is really chill and has the best beer selection in town by far. I order saying... "I want something unusual and really hoppy." The employees know beer and give great recommendations- I am never disappointed. However, if you like Coors light... bummer because they have NO CRAP ON TAP, you can buy a shirt that says so. I think they do offer a selection of bottles for those with a lighter palate :)

Hands down best craft/micro brews in redding! With future plans to serve some eats it will be heaven.. For a delicious brew you must try the constant changing selection..always something for (most) everyone and most knowledgeable about what they have and what you may like..

I dissed Alehouse Pub in my original review......largely writing it off as soulless, as you can see below. Since then I believe it's changed ownership, and the new owner has managed to infuse enough character into the joint so that it now feels much more like a neighborhood pub. It's become my favorite local place to grab a beer on Friday afternoon with friends or family, and it was TL who reminded me that I'd thumped Alehouse Pub's nose with the accusation of mediocrity in my original Yelp review.
By far the best beer selection in town, including a generous mix of IPAs and other intensely hopped ales. Another plus is that the beer selection is constantly changing, unlike many of the bars around town where the proprietors seem to have signed lifetime contracts in their own blood to tap a few select beers, at least half of which are of the domestic sparkling rice water variety.Listed in: Shasta County Grub and…

Good stuff here at the Alehouse Pub! The owners have spent a lot of time and money making sure that this small friendly bar doesn't have that "hole in the wall" look.
If you are looking for a Coors Light, DON'T GO HERE! They have dozens of very nice specialty beers for all tastes.
My only star reduction comes off of the Beer&Wine only liquor license. I know that it's exactly what they are going for, but I want a Margarita on the rocks! I'm just saying! -

Finding good beers on tap in Redding can prove difficult. The alehouse is located conveniently and has a REALLY superb draft selection. I had double dead guy, deschutes hop henge, and stone ipa.
the place is pretty dark and I didn't see much of anything for food which why we left. the atmosphere isnt much to brag about but the beers make it not matter!
oh there's also 2 dart boards and 2 tvs. -

I liked this place in its old incarnation (except the drunk chick telling my cousin, "I fucked Tyson in your sister's bed"), and I like it now. It's beer-only, so don't come in expecting some fancy mixed drink. Cuz you won't be happy. The drinking garden/smoking area out back is still about as dingy as ever, but it's nice to be able to go share a cigarette with a friend with beer in hand. The beer selection here is great, too. From light tangerine-infused beers to your good old fashioned porters and stouts, they've got something for every taste in beer. Even my cousin's non-beer-lovin' girlfriend was able to find something that she liked. Anyway, it's better than paying to get into some Redding club where a bunch of white kids who think they're hard are bouncing around to old hip-hop hits.
Although I wish I could remember the name of that place, cuz it was pretty great, too... -

Alehouse is a really great bar with a wonderful beer selection. In Redding just for one night and need a place to grab a beer. Thankfully I came across the Alehouse on yelp. With 20 excellent beers on tap it was tough to make choice. They even had Stone 07 barley wine. Staff was super nice and friendly. If you are in the area and want a beer check this place out!

If you are a beer snob as I am this bar is for you. So far this has the microbrew selection I have been able to find in Redding. It is a nice place to watch the game and have a few beers, and every week new kegs are added. Usually on Saturday night there is some sort of entertainment going on. The staff is very friendly and most of the customers are good natured.The downfall of the place is that it is a bit small, it gets busy very quickly, and the parking can be tricky.

As a fan of great beer and someone who regularly travels up to Redding to visit family, I have been looking for a place that serves any craft ales on tap. I actually found out about Alehouse from the beer manager at Liquor Barn, believe it or not. Naturally, I had to check it out for myself later that afternoon. Alehouse has a quiet and classy feel to it and reminds me of a true pub. In addition to counter seating there are some tables and chairs, and a few tv's if you want to sit back and watch a game. In addition to a great tap selection you can also purchase bottles (different selection than what's on tap). As their shirts say, there is "No Crap on Tap". Overall great atmosphere, a friendly and knowledgeable bartender, and a great craft ale selection makes this place a favorite for me.

Great place to stop and get some craft beer. Service was friendly, and the atmosphere is low key. Also nice that it was within walking distance of the hotel. Only beef I have is that it was hot as hades outside and this place could have cranked up the A/C a little.

I dropped by here the other night and was pleasantly surprised to find Lil Sumthin Sumthin on tap... hoppy, delicious beer that while now a year round Lagunitas beer, is still a summer beer in my head. They also had Lil Sumthin wild, which I had a sample of, and a nice board of pretty good beers. I do find it kinda annoying they dont offer samples of beers, which they claim is due to ABC, but I have never heard that before from a number of bars I have gone to. Kinda odd if true.
