** Only regarding a beer and the infamous krispy kreme bread pudding
Classic Baltimore bar feel. Great interior seating at both the bar and tables. Great outdoor options. Good neighborhood.
Good lookin' waiters/waitresses, quick efficient service.
Krispy kreme bread pudding is definitely for those who have a major sweet tooth. Waitress suggested ice cream on top, but I wouldn't. It's a very generic ice cream ..just makes everything too messy and detracts from the star. I was expecting an explosino of pure krispy kreme flavor, but it was a delicate sweet balance of a normal bread pudding and sweet krispy kreme flavor. Good food engineering (and I'm not even the biggest fan of krispy kreme).
Good beer selection at decent prices even for non happy hour.
Food looked like great bar food ..tater tots are their thing, napolean dynamite style. Bunch of different kinds.
Overall, i'd say the KK bread pudding is a once in a life time experience..not because it's THAT great, but because it's a good ridiculously high calorie dessert that i'll have fun saying I ate. -

Been here twice to eat in, 3 times for carryout.
Pros:
HUGE, delicious brunch entree. (pic posted)
Outdoor seating
$3.00 mimosas
Friendly, relaxed service
Decent specials... ($7 spaghetti & meatballs on Wednesdays... It's not great, but convenient and easy to doctor up a bit at home if you get carry out. It's 2 portions for me so 3.50 for a dinner that I can jazz up isn't half bad!)
Cons:
Bloody Mary was like Old Bay and ice...wayyyy too salty... two sips and I couldnt drink it.
Glass was completely full when we asked for the check and it was still on the bill... only $3.00 I guess I could've asked for something else but she walked by enough times that she should've noticed I wasn't drinking it.
They're known for their Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding so we got it once, it was good, but neither of us were that impressed.
(I mean, if I'm going to break the calorie bank on something like this, it should be amazing! I actually only had a couple bites... wasn't worth the break to me I guess.)
All in all this place is ok.. in a good way. I'll continue to go here...mostly for the convenience. -

Talk about deliciousness! We stuffed ourselves silly on the Gluttony Tots, Puff Doggy Dogs, and Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding. And there was a good beer and wine menu to boot! So much ooey gooey goodness.
The Gluttony Tots (they had mac 'n' cheese and pork belly!) and Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding were truly unique and awesome. The Puff Doggy Dogs were mini hot dogs wrapped in crescent rolls. Not exactly unique, but they were certainly tasty. And the honey mustard dipping sauce worked nicely with them.
I don't recall much about the ambiance and decor (I was in a post-80s wedding haze), but it all seemed good. Not much exciting about the outdoor seating area where we were.
The name alone is worth the trip. But the crazy and awesome menu offerings are what will keep me coming back (when I am up in the MD anyways).Listed in: Cheesy Goodness

So. After the Yelp Totally 80's Wedding and the "Stupid Senseless Incident Which Ensued Thereafter Never To Be Spoken of Again", I connected with Samantha G. and James. We got a table outside. Had some totally awesome Gluttony Tots, Puff Doggy Dogs, and a cup of the Worst Cream Of Crab Soup I have ever had in my entire life. No I take that back. Ale Mary's was the second worst cup. That crap soup I had at Bens Next Door (see http://www.yelp.com/bi... ) was the absolute worst.
Not only is it demonstrative of a restaurant that should not be making crab soup, but also the near-argument I almost got into with the waitress is clear evidence that this place need not even serve crab soup that someone else makes. She insisted on telling me that crabmeat known as "backfin" is WAY better and higher quality than "jumbo lump". Beotch, you may sit your dumb hillbilly ass all the way down. Right now. And read this http://en.wikipedia.or....
But the Gluttony Tots? Let me tell you. A plate full of pork belly, tater tots, bacon, macaroni and cheese, and more cheese never would have overshadowed a cup of cream of crab soup if it had been good. But these tots? Totally ridiculously good; outstanding even...
The puff doggy dogs? Cute lil cocktail weenies wrapped in puff pastry served with honey mustard dipping sauce.
Oh hells no. I forgot about the Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding Sundae. Oh Lord. This thing was, well, krispy kreme donuts made into bread pudding topped with vanilla ice cream, chocolate, caramel, and whipped cream. See picture. It will make you slap your mama.
During our meal, Samantha, James, and I were treated to a show by the village people or some subset thereof. The indian, the construction worker, the cop, and the fireman. Wow. What an experience. Wow.
Go to Ale Mary's. Sit outside. Cop a beer or two. But don't bother with the cream of crab soup.Listed in: Crab Soup

I was visiting Baltimore for a few weeks and Ale Mary's was one of my favourite places to eat... just because of the Grilled Chicken Wings. They were fantastic!

I was visiting Baltimore for a concert from Virginia Beach. I really wish I lived near this place. It has a close local pub feel to it. I had the crabby tots, seafood boil and shared the krispy kreme bread pudding. Everything was great especially the dessert, WOW! I will recommend this place to anyone visiting the area.

Weird vibe to this place. I almost felt like I had entered a cult meeting uninvited. Some strange patrons as well. Very very odd. Maybe I just caught it at the wrong time, but I don't know....

Terrible service. Terrible. Only reason to go is for beer and tots, certainly not for the unhappy and unpleasant staff. Ale Mary;s, you are definitely a fixture in the area but doesn't mean you are permitted to treat customers line garbage. I'll get a beer elsewhere and make my own tots.

We went to Ale Mary's for Brunch last Sunday. The staff was quick to combine some tables for us, and make sure we were happy. I immediately ordered a bloody Mary thinking everyone else would too...but I was left all by my lonesome to enjoy it. It was pretty tasty. Nice and thick with a good flavor to it.
The food was excellent. My son shouted out after trying his bananas foster "How have I lived without this?". I ordered &!? biscuits, but only the half portion thinking I would have to finish his food, but he hesitated to even share a bite with me. My tots and gravy were good though, I just regret not getting the full portion.
Someone else got the regular french toast, someone got an omellete, and some one got flap jacks. The only complaint was that the pancakes weren't cooked all the way through. They corrected it, but I thought it was odd that they didn't make her new pancakes, and instead just finished cooking those pancakes. That's pretty much what is stopping this place from getting my fifth coveted star.
I will definitely come back sometime. I have been a few times prior, and like this quirky little bar! -

I wouldn't get brunch there again. First, I hate when people put ice in a "mimosa" - especially when it tastes like sprite and tang. Next, I got eggs benedict and the eggs were just tossed into vinegar and butter - so the whole plate tasted like greasy vinegar. The yolks were fully cooked and the "fresh veggies" on the side were actually oily green beans.
They took the whole order off without me even mentioning anything - but I just hate when my brunch stinks. It's like someone being rude to your before your first cup of coffee in the morning. The staff was great and it seemed like somewhere I'd love to get a beer at night or maybe a sandwich - but I wouldn't EVER recommend it for brunch. -

I went to Ale Mary's for dinner because of the high reviews. I came out pretty disappointed. The seafood is not fresh and it was pretty clear. The Crab dip is frozen not fresh (figured it out when the middle of the dip was cold). The pizza was sub par at best. The bread pudding with ice cream was good.
That said the service was very good and the beer selection was solid. I'd try the breakfast but can't say I'd ever go back for dinner or a lunch.Comment from Thomas R. of Ale Mary's 4/21/2012

The food is typical greasy pup fare, but sometimes you're just in the mood for that.
The loaded tots were pretty good in that hangover food kind of way.
The real reason to come here is the beer selection though. It is fantastically extensive. -

Had heard a lot about this place especially for the Tater tots and the Crispy Creme Bread Pudding, so naturally we had to order both along with a lot of beer. My arteries started dying soon thereafter, but I'm sure they died in happiness.
Here's a recipe for success:
-SHARE an order of the seafood tater tots.
-Choose a few libations from the vast beer menu(might i recommend the Haviestoun Old Engine Oil Black Ale)
-End the evening with the Crispy Creme Bread Pudding.
Disclaimer: This really isn't the best place for the health-conscious. This was my "cheat-meal" of the century. -

The Stanger made a wrong turn on the way to Talladega and somehow ended up in Baltimore. You dudes are thinking, no way, but yes way, The Stanger doesn't do GPS or ask for directions, those are for Commies and women....
So Stanger is cruising the 'Stang through Fells Point itching for a Miller Lite. The 'Stange runs on gas, but the Stanger runs on Miller Lite and the Stanger needed to refuel.
In fact, Stanger is refueling now....ahhhhh
So the Stanger sees a homeless man howling at the moon on a corner, and the Stanger figures, must be a hell of a bar if they have their own man/wolf (Note: Man/Wolf was not associated with the bar). Stanger strolls on in to Ale Mary's and wants Miller Lite draft pronto. Megan behind the bar says, "Stanger, bro, we don't have Miller Lite on tap."
The Stanger stood in stunned silence for 15 -20 minutes....
The Stanger settled for some local fancy beers that got the job done. Stanger was even allowed to taste these fancy beers out of fine stemware (which pisses sober Stanger off!!!!). Megan and the staff were some of the most friendly people Charm City had to offer. Never in all the Stangers years has the Stanger given 5 stars to a bar lacking Miller Lite on tap, until now..... GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!~!!!!!!! -

We were lucky enough to come screeching in for Sunday brunch and get a table outside right away. Service is pretty good, maybe a tad slow, but it was Sunday brunch. Tots are awesome - never had bacon, eggs, and sausage gravy on top of tots before - yum! Lots of yummy-looking hangover food on the menu. Awesome drink specials and good beer on draft. Sitting on the sidewalk was great and it's a nice neighborhood. Win!

My brother had been planning his wife's 50th birthday party. Because her name is Mary, my brother picked a location with her name in it. We are not from Baltimore so none of us had ever been here. Although it was a roll of the dice, my brother hit the jackpot. My brother had been emailing the owner leading up to this birthday gathering. There were 9 people in our party. Ale Marys is a little cramped for a table that size but they were more than friendly and accommodating.
There's nothing fancy about this place. Who gives a hoot? It's loud. So what? It's fun, the food is excellent, the service is great, and the beer selection is nice. That's what makes a good restaurant/bar.
I would like to say the "Tots" section of the menu is just genious. Who doesn't like tater tots? When you take those delicious nuggets outside of the confines of a school cafeteria, they come into their own and make delectable appetizers. My wife and I ordered the Reuben Tots, topped with corned beef and swiss cheese. They were gooey and sinfully delicious.
For my beer, I had the Old Dominion Baltic Porter, another solid offering. I had thought that Old Dominion was out of business but I was mistaken. My wife had the Kona Brown and she liked it.
My wife ordered the Salmon BLT and she said it was fantastic. The Lemon Aioli was so good she was dipping her chips in it! I ordered the Full Monty, a gigantic grilled cheese concoction that includes 4 sandwiches with ham, turkey, bacon, sausage, fried eggs, tomato, and what looked like 3 different kinds of cheese. This was a sandwich worthy of Man vs. Food. Had I known it was this large, I would have approached it differently. As it was, this huge gift from the heavens kicked my butt royally. It wasn't big just to be big though. They used real sliced ham and turkey, not the lunch meat garbage. The sandwich was delicious.
I believe our server's name was Doug. He was friendly and took care of our every need. At the end of our meal, he even called us two cabs to pick us up and take us to our hotel. Not many places that I know of will do that. The entire staff was great. The chef was cranking out quality food at a record pace.
This is what it's all about. Thank you to everyone at Ale Marys for making my sister-in-law's 50th birthday party a memorable experience. -

There's not much else to say after 120 other reviews, so I'll keep this brief. Sweet potato tots = good. Crab cake with Old Bay mayo = good. Friendly bartender/wait staff = good.
I just need to come back and try the crabby tots and the Krispy Kreme bread pudding now. -

I'll admit it, the first time I stopped in Ale Mary's was just because I thought the logo of a pint glass with a halo and wings was adorable. I'm glad I did. It's a small, corner bar with a relaxed vibe. It has a good selection of beer on tap, including resurrection.
Everyone has mentioned the tater tots. If you go, you must have an order. -

First and foremost I was pretty impressed with their crush mixed drinks, that thing packed a punch. I had the grapefruit and orange, and I must say it hit the spot. On to the food, I ordered the Chesapeake sandwich which was good, and my friend ordered the crab cake sandwich with sweet tots she enjoyed it as well. Of course on my first visit here, I can't leave without trying the famed bread pudding. It was good, but I don't think I will be ordering it again. Hey, but at least when it's all said and done I tried it. I will definitely go to this establishment again.

It has been nearly four years and Ale Mary's is still one of my favorite bars in Baltimore. The staff is very friendly once they get to know you and the crowd is almost always cool and non-obnoxious, even on Friday and Saturday nights. The only thing that I've thought is subpar here is their brunch. I went once a couple of years ago and was not impressed at all. I haven't been back for brunch since then and they might have improved, but other people have told me that it's still not that great.

Another place I've been dying to try and I wasn't disappointed.
I've been here many times as an old friends father owned it when it was The Spectrum many moons ago. Much has changed and all for the better. Immediately the place wraps around you like a old familiar friend.I really dig the look and feel.
I seated myself in the rear after ordering a resurrection from a somewhat distracted barmaid at the bar.
While waiting for my running late dinner partner I perused the menu and liked what I saw. Everything looked good.
I decided to start with a bowl of cream of crab soup,(6.50) a huge bowl of soup garnished with a little old bay, it was creamy, few shells but very tasty.
My dinner date started with the Loaded Tater tots,(6.75) OK I .. suggested she should try them... :)
(they were great).
My entree came with a side salad, the salad was outstanding, and I'm not a salad guy. Spinach, diced tomatoes, red onion, arugula, and cracker like crouton things( I loved those things)..all super fresh and presented nicely.
Our entree's came about 15 minutes later, there was so much food and then I get hit with this huge plate of Seafood Potpie (17.95) Wow I loved it, it's a medley of inch and half sea scallops, 3 or 4 jumbo shrimp, crawfish and crab meat in a de-lish sherry cream sauce with peas, corn, carrots, atop mashed potatoes,(the mashed were a bit too firm). And then topped with a french puffed pastry. I did my best to knock it out..but failed.
My dinner date had the Po Boys Blackened Catfish sub.(8.95)I tried it, it was good. She said it was a bit salty but good.
For desert we shared a Krispy Creme bread pudding, very good but a little too sweet for me.(the Owner offered to sell us a half portion, which I thought was cool)
Of course we had lots to take home. I'll know better next time
The owner was waiting on us other then forgetting some extra blue cheese the guy was very accommodating and friendly he was on target with timing and drinks.
With drinks the check came to about 70 bucks.
This is the kind of place you can take friends, drink and lose 3 hours without trying..that's a great Tavern.
I give Ale Mary's five stars for being an awesome tavern serving awesome comfort food with great service.
Two big thumbs up for Ale Mary's! -

Another round of Ale do you say...
Ale Mary's, my kind of place :) A couple of friends were in from out of town and we wanted to take them to solid Baltimore bar, and we found one in Ale Marys. When you first walk in your expecting standard Baltimore Fells Point Bar... to loud music, rude bartenders and drunk frat guys and drunk sorority girls, but the opposite is true. True, Ale Mary's is on the small side, but the warmth and ambiance is awesome.
Behind the Bar there is a seating area if you want more space and a sit down dinner. But lets focus on the bar area. The bartenders are nice, funny and kinda sassy, so it makes for a good convo while we waited till our friends arrived. On top of the good bartenders, the beer selection was solid... nothing to crazy like Max's but they had Chimay on tap :) So we ordered a couple rounds and decided to look into the menu. Sweet Tots anyone! Yep, sweet potato tater tots, made in house :) Now alot of Bmore places offer you frozen tots that are then deep fried, nothing wrong with that, but Ale Mary's makes their tots in house so they come out looking like they are all creatures from the black lagoon, but they taste darn good!! On top of that we ordered some Grilled cheese! Killer perfectly grilled and the cheese was properly melted.
So Good Bartenders CHECK, Good food CHECK, Good beer CHECK!
Winner winner Chicken dinner (I should see if they have a chicken dinner)
Ale Mary's has risen to near the top of my choices in Fells Point, with solid food and beer you cant go wrong.
Dong Dong, is that the church tower or Last call??... either way next rounds on me! See you at the bar :) -

This place was highlight of my 2-day business trip to Baltimore. Thanks to Yelp for the recommendation!
I walked in around 7:30 on a Thurs night, and due to the cozy nature of AM's there seating was limited. Luckily, I was able to snag a seat at the end of the bar. The bartenders were very attentive, even with the crowd. Their draft beer selection was pretty good, and their bottle selection was very good.
Having already satisfied my crab fix earlier in the day, I ordered the Mr. Boh's steamed mussels as an app. They are not exaggerating when they call this a generous portion. They brought out a huge mound of delicious mussels that were steamed perfectly. The andouille sausage was a great compliment. I definitely recommend going with the extra garlic bread!
Because the mussels was so large, there was no need for an entree. Plus, I wanted to save room for the Krispy Kreme bread pudding I had heard so much about. This dessert did NOT disappoint! Very rich, but not overpowering. It was amazing. I do not order desserts very often, but I'm glad I did last night. Like the mussels, this portion is definitely big enough for two. Luckily I was solo last night though.
AM's will be a must stop next time I come to the Charm City! -

First time to Ale Mary's today. Nice bar with interesting decor and clean. Staff and other patrons seemed very nice. Bartender offered tastes of the beer before I decided, which is not always the case at other bars. Decided on a good tasting ale in a cool mug. Ordered food when my wife arrived. We got the chicken fingers with mashed potatoes and chicken cheese steak. Put it this way, will not order them again. I hear others talk about the food there so not going to say their food stinks but maybe I just ordered the worst items on the menu. Cheese steak was nothing like a cheese steak anywhere else and chicken fingers were dry (typical frozen taste). Anyways, will try their brunch in the future and more drinks. They has an orange crush that I saw a lot of people ordering so that seems like a good enough reason to return soon. Enjoy!!!

Oh, hello there. Do you love pub food? Do you love beer? Do you love fast, friendly service? Are you a fan of biblical puns? Then guess what, you'll love this place. This is truly some of the best service I've encountered in Baltimore. Every member of the staff I encountered was friendly and went out of there way to make sure I was doing good and enjoying my food.
One of my favorite burgers in B-more, but I am known as a bit of a burger slut. The deli tots are what blew my mind. Repeated consumption could be heart attack inducing, but if I had to choose a death, it would for sure be at the delicious hands of the deli tots. -

I was so excited to visit Ale Mary's for so many reasons... the high marks on Yelp, the extensive beer list, the delicious-sounding menu, and of course tater tots (I'm an addict).
I think all reviews should be taken with a grain of salt (or seasoning), and mine is no different. I didn't fall in love with this place the way I expected to. The food was rather lackluster - I happened to be craving the shrimp sandwich which unfortunately had a flavor profile that I care not to remember, and I found the tots extremely gummy. However for me the service was very nice and attentive, no complaints at all there
I think it was just the place itself didn't feel comfortable, I don't know how to explain it. I was sitting at a table near the bar during happy hour, and was constantly getting jostled. One extremely drunk man actually sat down on me while I was in my chair: that was a first.
Perhaps if I was truly more of a local to Fells and within walking distance I would give it another shot, but there's nothing that really inspired me to return. Father forgive me. -

Love Ale Mary's. This is one of my favorite places to hang out in Baltimore. Awesome staff and a GREAT atmosphere. They have a fantastic beer menu that includes Resurrection along with another 8 or so craft breweries. Great stuff.
Now...I don't think their food is that great but there are some gems on the menu. I like the sandwiches - especially the blackened catfish and the chicken sandwiches/salads. Tuna dishes are also great. The cream of crab soup is a favorite of my wife and of course, everyone love's the tots. -

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE. Stumbled upon it almost by accident and SO glad I did! They are great for a number of reasons:
1.) Locals own and run it. I've been back a few times and they made the effort to learn my name/greet me. Great service and such nice wonderful staff!
2.) The food is legit Baltimorian pub food- crab dips, great sandwiches, AMAZING seafood soups, and the tots are killer. I would suggest the crabby tots, lobster bisque, salmon BLT... basically anything.
3.) Outdoor seating which is bumping in nice weather. It's on the corner of a kind of busy street which is a double edged sword... great people watching but a little noisy sometimes.
4.) Good beer selection!
Have suggested it to multiple friends and they love it too! -

So I took my Mom, her boyfriend and our cousin from Western Maryland to Ale Mary's last night because they had heard me talk about the Crabby Tots and the Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding. If you read the other reviews on here you will see those two things mentioned quite a bit and I concur. They are both must trys.
We arrived around 7pm and put our name in for a table for four. Being that it was a Friday night - it was crowded. We waited about 20-25 minutes for our table. The staff is all super friendly and quick to make sure you get a drink while you're waiting for a table. I suggest the Orange Crush. They are strong - and I like that.
We were seated and immediately put in for an order of Crabby Tots and Old Bay Butter wings. The Crabby Tots are tater tot done right covered in a mound of crab dip. Again, I repeat, they are a MUST. The wings were grilled and decent but not out of this world. I'd probably try something else next time. We also had a Cream of Crab soup (well it was for one of us but we all ended up digging in) and it was DELICIOUS! It was the right amount of creaminess, spice and a lot of crab meat. I'll definitely get my own next time!
For our meals we all ordered pizzas. Mom ordered the Pepperoni with Basil, Jim ordered the Pepperoni without basil, Shawn ordered the Buffalo Chicken Pizza and I ordered the Pizza Du Jour, which was called Black, Blue and BBQ (or something like that). It was their 9" pizza covered in BBQ chicken, BBQ pork, Caramelized Onions, Mozzarella Cheese, tiny blueberries (yes blueberries) and this cheesy sauce. It looked a mess but it was sweet and DElicious! The last time I was there I also ordered their Pizza Du Jour which was full of different meats and that was also amazing. I definitely recommend the pizzas. There will always be leftovers, especially after the Crabby Tots and whatever other apps you get.
And as if we didn't eat enough we got the Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding ala mode to share for the table, And even though we all said we were stuffed the poor thing didn't stand a chance. It was gone in less than 5 minutes. Again, a MUST have if you come here. But make sure there are a minimum two or three of you to share it.
You don't have just one waiter everyone checks-in with you and you never have an empty glass (of whatever you are drinking).
Ale Mary's is a great neighborhood GastroPub/Bar with super friendly staff. It's a must see! -

Went to Baltimore for a weekend getaway and tried this place because of the Yelp reviews... so glad we came here!
Small spot on an off street (we almost walked past the place) with a local-folks vibe and a friendly staff. I went to school in Baltimore and man, I wish I knew about this place back then!
The Crabby Tots are a MUST! So delicious and covered in a mountain of amazing crab dip.
I got the chicken cheesesteak which was good.. not great, but good. (Next time I will definitely go for the tots and anything crab-related)
My boyfriend got the chicken Chesapeake and WOW... it was unbelievable. Moist chicken breast topped with (yet another) mountain of crab dip served on fresh Texas toast. After demolishing our crabby tots he decided to take most of the sandwich home (Actually, I'm not sure he even had a bite of the sandwich at the restaurant). But even reheated in the hotel microwave this sandwich was UH-MAY-ZING!
We weren't even staying the in the Fells neighborhood but we almost went back the next day to get another chicken Chesapeake to take home with us. -

I pass by Ale Mary's every single day and never had the desire to stop in until after I read a Yelp review. I saw the board out front of the pub on Saturday that read Saturday brunch until 3 pm and they had Doritos bag tacos for $3 I thought I would grab the man and kids to check it out.
At first I wasn't quite sure if this was a family friendly spot. We were welcomed with open arms and seated in the back dining room near the kitchen. Usually this would have been a deal killer but some how I wasn't put off by our seating. The first surprise to my delight was that tater tots are on the menu. Next they had literally taco filling in a Dorito bag. The kids loved it. I decided to go with the Tuna Bites which I had to take the balance to go - let's just say a pound of tuna was more than I expected.
Now for the close! The dessert was undefeated with 4 people trying.
Let's just say that I'm a bit sad that I have missed out on a cozy, affordable and local place to eat all of this time. -

Ale Mary's is one of those places that really gives Fells Point some charm!
The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, and I've never had anything but a great experience from the servers and bartenders.
They've got a great beer selection as well as some delicious specialty drinks. Top of that list for me is their selection of fresh fruit crushes. The very accurately named creamsicle crush will blow you away and you will have to force yourself to stop drinking them. Fresh squeezed orange juice and vanilla vodka over ice...can't go wrong!
The menu has something for everybody and you can go inexpensive or upscale depending on your mood. The best menu item has to be their tots. I like that Ale Mary's has decided to 'own' this particular idea and really do it well. You can get your tots a variety of ways, and when you throw in a cold one at the bar, that's a perfect weekend lunch.
I will continue to return to this place again and again! -

There are three things I must tell you about Ale Mary's:
1. It is an absolutely magnificent bar. great beer. great place, great people, great staff.
2. The food is also fantastic- check out the vast and world class diversity of tater tots.
3. They give you a free beer if you can say the Hail Mary in under 5 seconds. Not sure what you get if you can do the rosary in under 5 minutes- but it's gotta be good. -

When you mix some really great food with great people and locals... you get Ale Mary's.
This place will make you rethink a few things during your experience:
1. Tater Tots
2. Krispie Kreme Doughnuts
3. Possibilities of Gastropub dishes?
Ale Mary's has a quirky decor with crosses along with other Catholic influenced details (name says it all) and some other awesome randomness (leg lamp from A Christmas Carol). The bar is pretty small and can get crowded pretty fast. The table are usually open, but there are only 6 or 7 with multiple chairs, but stay.. WAIT and order these things
1. Tater Tots in ANY form - it will be like a trip back down memory lane to those good ol' days when tots were awesome just as they are.. but when you order them here its like a GREAT trip down memory lane becuase the flavors have matured with you.
2. Krispie Kreme Bread Pudding- all i can say is OH MY GOD.. what a true indulgence. You think it will be over the top disgusting greasy or cloyingly sweet, but NO you are wrong.. The doughnuts absorb that custard and becomes light and fluffy swirled with cinnamon and ice cream to balance it all out - AMAZING.. This is a MUST have.
3. Mussles - Mr. Boh's Mussels.
The perfect balance of sweet brine flavor and clean acidity from wine and tomaotes... MUST try.
I personally LOVE mussels and this place has a REALLY good dish.
I've had the other dishes and while some may underwhelm in the light of the other amazing dishes I've had, but hey.... this is the neighborhood bar that does a lot of things right.Listed in: My Neighborhood

Had a great time here the other night. The crabby tots were absolutely amazing, as were the burgers, steak, and portabello sandwich. Mixed drinks were strong and well mixed and they have a great beer selection. Really solid place, nothing not to love.

This is a "don't miss" restaurant. All the tater tots are to die for. Cream of crab was really great. Perfectly cooked steak. Krispy kreme bread pudding was decadent. We were a group of 6 and everyone loved their meals.
The mixed drinks were potent and the beer selection was amazing.
And their bathrooms are very clean
