Wally rocks the joint...this place is killer.

The Peddler carries all the wines you can't find at the grocery store. Unique, great flavor...the whole experience is right.

The only place to go if want to impress your snobby wine friends at the next party.

He gets the lawn furniture direct from some wild Amish up in PA...very solid materials and construction. By far, better than you'll find anywhere in the area.

Just discovered Aldie Peddler last weekend & what a find!!  Antiques shopping, wine, and food all in one place makes for a great combination as it is, but what really makes the place stand out is its owner, Wally.  He is a great guy that makes you feel welcome as soon as you walk through the door and loves to chat it up with his customers.  It is so comfy cozy here that you definitely want to come back for more!

Wally is great!  We bought one a glider chair from him, he was very helpful and sweet.  The whole purchase from when we walked in his door to when he delivered it to ours, was pleasant.  I would recommend him to anyone.

I don't know much about wine. I don't know much about mayors. I know a LITTLE about boys named Wally. I know we walked outta this joint with two bottles of wine and I almost bought a Santa nutcracker for my mom. WTF? Something's afoot out in Aldie.

Wally the mayor (ret.) is quite a firecracker. In the first five minutes, we threw four different wines down our gullets while Wally rambled on about his stint as mayor in Aldie (five years in a row), his granddaddy who fought in the Civil War, his friend who used to live next door and would fly him all over in her private jet (Bermuda, Paris, Napa, you name it). Wally's a baller.

The sign out front, "100 wines under $10," got the little tires on my Versa screeching to a halt and we pulled in. We walked out with an organic red, Three Alarms (a portion of the proceeds go to burn victims), and some riesling, both part of the impromptu tasting and both under $10. He had all kinds of wines at all prices from all regions, too. Another couple with us was composing a case when we left. Go Wally!

I would go back, but it might be a spell before I'm out that way again. And if I ever move to Aldie, Wally 4 prez.

Cool little store in Aldie, VA. They sell patio tables and chair, wine, jellies, jams, honey, sauces, pickles, peanuts, candies, antique stuff, and a whole lot more.

I love wandering through places like Aldie Peddler to see what is going on.

I bought a can of their lightly salted peanuts. When I bought them - the guy at the counter told me I'd probably eat them going down the road. My response was that I was not going to do that. But what do you know - I did end up cracking that can open to taste them. Damn were those good! I ate about half the can while driving down the road!

There is a great sense of warmth when you can enter a store located in an old home through the back door.  The fire in the fireplace where the cash register is located made you want to warm your buns all afternoon!  The Aldie Peddler is a mix of antiques meets wine meets Southern hospitality all rolled into an eclectic hodgepodge of items to purchase.  This shop even has outdoor furniture from porch swings to Adirondack chairs as well as antiques of all types.

The owner is as excited be in his shop as he is to have you there too.  The wine selection surprised us.  Its well thought out and arranged so you don't have any trouble finding your favorite Varitals or country of origin you desire.

Other offerings in the store included dip mixes, pastas, pickles and jams and even fun decor for your home.  What I found most heartwarming was a collection of stoneware mixing bowls that brought me back to when I was a little girl helping my grandma in her kitchen.  Warm fuzzies, yes indeed.

If you are in the Aldie area make sure you stop at this shop...the local flavor, fun conversation and selection of items to purchase or oogle over are well worth the trip.

    Hey WALLY!!!!!

Seriously, stop in and ask for Wally and tell him that Peter, Cindy and Alexis sent you. (Unless his friend Bobbie is running the shop!) This antique lover's venue has a lot of kachke' and now a wine tasting salon. The best bets are the homemade food known as "Milo's Best!" (Milo is Wally's full sized all white boxer.) Wally knows what's happening, and he also sells some of the finest patio furniture in the DC area - of recycled wood and plastic. Just off US route 50 on the way to Middleburg, VA - this is worth a stop and a sample of their local Virginia, Californian and Italian wines.

Bottom Line: Totally great time, and we bought alot, including the Pear Port... a lovely apparatif!

My husband and I were driving through this cute little town on our way back from Middleburg and stopped because of the "100 wines under $10" sign (and there was an antique store next door...a great excuse to have a little wine and some antique shopping with the hubby!!). Wally was there talking to a few customers in the store, but quickly found us and started telling us about some of the wine in his store. Can I just say that we LOVE this place because of him? Well, its true. We walked out with wine bottles far more expensive than we normally pay for wine for three reasons: 1.) because he let me use the employee bathroom and 2.) because he is so nice and 3.) he served us some wine that we ended up LOVING. We also walked out with some poppy seed salad dressing...SO good with strawberries (Wally's recommendation). We will definitely be coming back for another few bottles of wine (as my husband and I are drinking the last bottle as I write this). We love supporting local establishments and we especially love supporting local establishments who's owners are SO awesome. Visit the Aldie Peddler when you are out in Aldie, VA!!!
