This place is better than you'd expect from the outside.
It's super clean, they're very friendly and they're very good at what they do. I've been here for waxing and for a mani-pedi. I LOVE that a manicure comes with an indulgent massage. And their massage chairs are the best I've ever sat on. They're clearly meticulous about their work because I got french tips on my natural nails once. Because I'm terrible, I typically chip them within a couple of days. However, this time my nails didn't actually start chipping until more than week later (and, again, this is with me being terrible about them) so that made me happy.
Especially considering how inexpensive it is for the quality and the atmosphere, I really like this place. It's my go-to place in Lynnwood. -

I decided to give this place a try since the previous nail salon a half mile away from it that'd I'd been going to was really disappointing me. When I walked in for a fill without an appointment there was a short 5 minute wait but then someone took me right away.
The gal that did my pink and white fill did a great job. No kniks or cuts on my cuticles at all. Not only do my nails look great but they were done quite quickly too. Looks like I found my new nail shop. -
Review from Marisa B.
While this salon is very clean and well kept, their staff don't seem to know how to use the tools appropriately. They mangled my cuticles and left me bleeding mid manicure. As if that wasn't enough another finger ended up with an ingrown nail a couple of days later that was causing me pain for over a week.
I won't be coming back for fear of further injury. -

So I've been back to my regular place twice now (for fills). I'm not able to put an acrylic on my right thumb nail because the nail bed is destroyed. The tech at Alderwood Nails drilled a portion of my nail bed away.
My fingernail has split on the side and it's almost coming off. My regular nail tech said I had to leave it uncovered to let air get to the real nail. She said she's afraid if she covers it liquid could get in and cause fungus to grow. So for now nine of my nails have acrylics with my thumb literally sticking out like a sore thumb (of which it is!) - no pun intended.
My nail tech told me that she's not sure how my nail will heal. She's seen this happen before and sometimes the nail grows back normally and other times it stays permanently damaged.
OMG.
I've added two photos of my thumbnail.1 Previous Review: Show all »

I have been to a lot of different nail salons.....A LOT....looking for the perfect manicure, pedicure and eyebrow wax. Well ladies and gentlemen...I have found the best one!!
I must say that their spa chairs are the most amzing chairs on earth. Way better than the normal massage chairs you see in everyday salons. These chairs give a serious back massage.
I have had a shelack french manicure done by Van several times and she is really good (does not cut my cuticals so close that it hurts and or bleeds but cleans them up very nice) AND...WITH EVERY MANICURE YOU GET A BACK AND NECK MASSAGE BY YOUR MANICURIST!! It's wonderful and lasts about ten minutes. with that on top of the arm and leg massage you get with the mani-pedi and the massaging chair i always leave this place feeling like butter.
I am in love and will keep returning. The prices are wonderful! ($55 for the Shelack French mani and pedi!!!) -
Review from Sarah M.
After scoping out a few different nail salons in the Lynnwood area, this one is by far the best value - and the best overall.
The service, the quality, the price, the atmosphere, the cleanliness, and the massages make this place the best.
The girls here (and one guy) are super friendly and sweet. I come here every week for at least a manicure and they always greet me cheerfully when I come in. I am always impressed by the amount of time they spend on each person as well. I don't feel rushed and they are always double checking their work to make sure everything is perfect.
They recently remodeled the whole salon so it looks much better than it did. It's a minor pet peeve that the nail polish station says "nails polish" but I'll get over that.
For a nail salon, this place seems pretty clean. Not as clean as places like Julep or Casa Bella maybe but better than some grotty hole in the walls.
My favorite part here are the shoulder and neck massages that you get when you get a manicure. They usually last about 10 minutes (or at least feel like it) and they are SO good. It's a nice little touch that sets this place apart from the others.
As long as I live in Lynnwood, I will never go anywhere else. -

I had mani-pedi cure. I like the location but i am little disappointed. After, reading great review i thought i could try it.
1st, my pedicure was good except foot massage need to improve on. As for manicure...........ha......pain pain pain. It took 2 ladies to do my nails. I am ok with it except one lady shape my nail too thin, 2nd lady cut my cuticle too deep, one nail bleed and 2 more nails is red. My manicure was awful but i got great shoulder massages. I have mix feeling that if i should go back or never go back. : (
The cost of mani-pedi was $30. -

I've been here quite a few times and each time has been excellent. Mani/pedi for $30 with a neck and shoulder massage? Awesome! My toes always look good for about a month and my fingernails take 4 days to a week before they start looking like I type for a living. Last Sunday I was able to call an hour before I wanted to come in and they had an opening for me, but I'd definitely call ahead on weekends - the people who walked in while I was there did wait for a little while. These ladies (and 1 guy) take pride in their work and are super sweet.

So, please bear in mind that three stars is actually in the middle of things, and it's "A-Ok" which is how I felt about my experience.
I was heading to Nordstrom to pick up a dress for an event on Friday night, and was on a tight time schedule. I called ahead and made an appointment for a 2pm mani/pedi with Alderwood Nails, having spotted them earlier in the week, and read great things about them here on Yelp.
I arrived at 2pm, the time of my appointment, and waited around for 15 minutes to be shown to a chair. At this point, I was pretty sure if they started immediately, I could probably make it to my next appointment close to on time. The staff was friendly, and somewhat apologetic, but then I was left to sit in the massage chair for another 20 minutes. At 2:35 my lovely nail specialist began the pedi, but I had to cancel on the mani because she said it'd take an hour for both, and I needed to be leaving by 3:15. I was pretty bummed, but thought that at least my toes would look good.
The massage was nice, they use a little sugar scrub type stuff and try to chisel off all the sad rough spots on your feet. While I was getting all spiffed up, I noticed that there was some handing around of instruments going on which weirded me out. I hope that they cleaned them when I had not been watching, but I doubted it.
The lady wrapped up with my pedicure about 2:55pm, and I wanted to be thrilled with my cute red toes. Sadly, no. There was polish on a number of places that were not my toenails and there was no where to sit to have my toes dry. The salon had been host to two of those moms who bring their four-year-olds along, and then, because they are stuck in a massage chair, they holler at their kids from across the room. Not relaxing. Anyhow, these folks were taking up all the chairs in the "drying area" so I just shuffled out to my car and headed home.
Overall, I might try them again, but I did have some slight reservations about cleanliness and I'd make sure to look my nails over before popping out of the chair, so I could get them to clean off the spare polish before I left. -

Best. Manipedi. Ever. I tend to paint my nails myself, but now and then I venture out to treat myself. I've been to several places and have been pretty consistently disappointed.
After a month, the nail polish on my toes looks like I just did it yesterday. The manicure lasted a good two weeks with only some rubbing off at the tips, but no chipping. Wow.
The staff is super friendly. Price is awesome... not only do they give the standard hand/foot massage, but a back and shoulder massage as well. I was really surprised. I won't go anywhere else now. -
Review from Brynne M.
Bothell, WA
I've been here twice now and my experience both times were consistently very good. I would recommend calling ahead and making an appointment because they get very busy... especially on weekends. Weekend walk-ins usually have to wait a bit.
On my first visit, I made an appointment for me and two friends to get pedis together. They got us right in and sat us next to each other. (Which doesn't always happen at some places, I've found.) The pedicure itself was good, but fairly standard. Massaging chairs, blue stuff in the water, scrubby feet exfoliation, lotion foot and leg massage.
One thing I noticed was that the polish lasted longer than usual. I got a french manicure on my toes, plus a nicely painted flower design, and it was flawless for about 2-1/2 to 3 weeks.
My second visit was the Saturday morning before Mother's Day. I opted for the mani/pedi once I got there. The arm, shoulder, back and neck massage was WELL worth the additional $10 to add the mani. Again, the polish is lasting way longer than usual. I rarely get manicures because the polish is usually cracked and chipped by the next day or so but we're on day four and my (natural/non-acrylic, past my fingertips) nails are still perfect.
One last thing to note: They are in the midst of a renovation right now. Updating the interior and getting a few new chairs. This doesn't affect the quality of service during the remodel, but I'm looking forward to seeing it when they're finished. -

I got a manicure and pedicure today. It was the first time I ever got one done so I didn't know what to expect. The ladies there did an awesome job. It wasn't busy so two of them worked on me. I expected some foot and hand massage, but was surprised about the leg and back massage. All for $30, which I thought was a good deal! I posted photos of my nails done (the one with the flowery background).
Will return if I want to be pampered. :) -

So it is true! They give wonderful long massages--even if ur just getting a manicure. This will keep me going back for sure. It's soo relaxing..neck, shoulders, back, arms, hands.. love it!
Oh and they were good with my manicure, too. Shaped my nails well, nice application of my polish. I just wish I knew what they were saying to each other the whole time.. Why is it they're all chatty Cathy's at nail salons??Listed in: Pamper me!

It's true! For $30 you get a mani/pedi plus a foot soak, foot & leg massage, hand/arm/neck/back massage. What?? The ladies are so nice and do their best to make you beautiful.
The reason I didn't give them 5 stars is that they don't seem to pay very much attention to cuticles. Nails just don't look as good without cuticle management. However, I'm sure this can be easily resolved by talking to them about it.
Great work ladies! See you soon. -

Wow Yelpers...My fiance and i came here based on these phenomenal reviews and we left sorely disappointed.
The first sign that things might go awry came early on. We arrived promptly for our mani-pedi appts and ended up waiting about 20 minutes. They were busy, so we brushed that off.
We were set up in side by side chairs. My water was already turned off and just sitting. I will admit to checking to see if the towel on the end was wet...just in case. It was dry, so I went with it. My Fiance had his water drawn as he sat down.
It was right about then that I noticed my water was tepid and the very friendly and apologetic gal helping me explained that my massage chair didn't work...perhaps that wasn't such a bad thing though. The woman next to me likened her massage chair to torture and shut it off as did my guy.
The rest of the pedi was unremarkable until we got out into the bright light of day and my guy pointed out the polish smeared on my toes and across the top of my foot...sloppy.
The gal who took care of me was truly a friendly and eager to please gal. Manicure was pretty good, except a little painful when she trimmed my cuticles. Still, at least I didn't leave with bloody cuticles...like my guy did...his gal wasn't as sweet as mine.
The back rub everyone mentions was nice, but quality of mani -pedi counts, so we wont be back. -

Wow - I'm very impressed with the employees at Alderwood nails.
Terrific ambiance and comfortable chairs. The staff are quick to please and attentive. After reading the numerous Yelp reviews about how the pedicure and manicure massages are outstanding, I was incredibly impressed with my services and have to agree, the massages ARE outstanding!
I felt comfortable and not rushed at all eventhough there were a few other folks patiently waiting their turn for a pedicure.
I will absolutely be back.
Bonus: They have a good selection of formaldehyde-free nail polishes (that last for days and days!). -

I've been coming here for years. Sweetest staff ever. I look forward to seeing the ladies though we quickly settle into a companionable zen-like not talking serenity. They are meticulous. I have since tried a couple of other places while on vacation, and yikes...they have not held a candle to my regular ladies. This is not the closest place to my home, but it's worth the drive. I will search no further. Just not worth it to go elsewhere when the cleanliness, kindness, serenity, and technical quality are all here. I come about once a month because I enjoy the experience and because their work lasts.

Awesome pedicure today! I was seated within ten minutes of my appointment and was treated to a real massage chair, and light show foot spa soak. There were a lot of people waiting for service, mostly pedicures.
I was glad I tried them because they give a great pedicure! My pedi and design came to 25 dollars without tip. I wasn't disappointed. They gave me a great salt scrub and leg massage and the massage chair even massages your butt! :-) -

This place is great! It's clean, the ladies who work here are all really nice and the prices are very reasonable.
I got a french tip manicure and pedicure for $40 plus tip. I had two people working on me, so it was done in 30 minutes and because it wasn't busy, I sat there drying for an hour to make sure everything was ok. I was so surprised at the massages. They lasted for so long and you also get a back and neck massage, which is awesome for this price!
I will definitely come back here again and refer people to this place! -

After reading all of the good reviews of this place, I decided to try this place out for my next manicure/pedicure. I can understand why it's kinda difficult to find since its in the random corner of Alderwood where nobody really parks. The place is cute and clean. I walked in at around 5ish for an acryllic manicure and regular/spa pedicure (but I didn't end up having enough time to get my pedicure), and I only had to wait about 10 minutes. The only guy there, I didn't catch his name, did my acryllic manicure. He was really careful in making sure my nails were the right shape and length that I wanted. I asked him for a design and he drew a cute flower design on my thumbs w/a little gem stud for the middle.
What I liked best about this place.. is that I didn't hear the ladies talk any sh!t about the customers. That's one thing I despise. Bonus points!
Pricing was pretty standard.. $30 for an acryllic + $5 for design. I think I'll come back here the next time I'm due for a mani/pedi. -

I decided to go here a couple of weeks ago because I needed to have cute toenails for a weekend shindig. I will typically go to Bloomin Nails, just because it is fairly close to my work, and I can go on my lunch break. But, Bloomin Nails is a bit spendy, and I didn't have my debit card that day and minimal cash - $24 to be exact. So, in a pinch, I decided to go to Alderwood Nails because their pedis are only $20. Perfect. $20 for a pedi & $4 for a tip.
I booked an appointment, which was smart because they seem to get quite a bit of walk ins. If you do book an appointment, you get priority (well, obviously) over the strays. I was a bit concerned when I walked in because all of the nail people looked busy with other people. This frustrated me at first because I had scheduled the appointment, but they took me right on time at my appointment time - impressive.
The pedicure was pretty quick - I mean, for only $20, what can you _really_ expect. It lasted about 30 minutes, and it was just like a typical pedicure - express style. I got my pedicure here three weeks ago, and it is still looking pretty good, so I would say it was money well spent.
I will definitely go back here sometime for another pedicure and recommend it for anyone sitting on the fence about it. -

I used to go here years ago when it was owned by Duke to get my nails done every two weeks. Hadn't been in 2+ years when I saw the new owners were getting good ratings on Yelp.
Popped in for a pedicure and was quite pleased. Was greeted and sat right away, the massage was great and my polish lasted the month until I changed it.
Yay! -

It has been my experience that receiving an amazing massage at a nail salon means sacrificing the paint job, and vice versa. Not so at Alderwood Nails!
I am very picky about my nails, I get regular mani-pedis because I have weak nails that need the extra love. I have been to nail salons that just soak your feet and hands, rub a little lotion on them and then do a marvelous paint job. I have also been to salons where I spend an hour getting an amazing massage with my pedicure just to be disappointed with the final results.
Today I went to Alderwood Nails, a place I admittedly have avoided in the past because the parking lot is normally empty and the building is not very nice looking. Well, I went here today because of the other Yelp reviews I read.
Alderwood Nails exceeded my expectations! Granted, I am fortunate enough to be able to get my nails done on a Thursday before noon, when nail salons are empty. I was there for about an hour and a half. I got my usual, french manicure/pedicure. The leg massage felt soooo nice. She must have spent 45 minutes on the massage alone. The woman doing my manicure did the same. A wonderful hand/arm massage and she even massaged my neck and shoulders! :)
The spa pedicure + manicure is $20, but since I get french tips it is always a bit more, but still came out to about $10 less than I am used to paying. I gave a bigger tip here than I ever have at any other nail salon.
To top it all off, these ladies were nice. I am not a big talker when getting my nails done, I prefer to sit and read a book or magazines. I asked for magazines right off the bat, they gave me ten, and they obviously could tell that I'm not very social, so they didn't talk to me a ton while I was there. I cannot see myself going anywhere else for a mani/pedi. -

I must begin with the disclaimer that I've only had 4 or 5 mani/pedi's in my life, so it is from this level of experience that I'm rating Alderwood Nails.
I went in today without an appointment (Thursday morning at 10:30) and there were a couple other people in the salon. I was told to pick out a polish and was immediately seated in a massage chair. I feel bad that I never asked her name, but the woman who began to work on my toes was very friendly and talkative. English is her second language, but I had no problem understanding her. I suppose that's a bit subjective, though. I am also a generally friendly and talkative person, so we got along great.
When we got to the lotion/massage stage of the pedicure another woman showed up and started on my nails. I was blown away by the 10 - 15 minute massage I got from them both! (That's a ballpark figure, my eyes were rolled back in my head, not on the clock!) Feet, legs to the knee, hands all the way to neck/shoulder and down to mid spine. I was in heaven!! (Perhaps they favored me because I am currently 6 months pregnant, but whatever it was, I'm thankful to them!)
This is what really made them stand out in my mind, because I can paint my own nails quite well, but I go pay for the mani/pedi for the extra pampering I get during the process, and my $30 was well worth it today.
My nails came out perfectly painted, with no smudges, paint on my skin, or cuts. I will definitely be back again! -
Review from Jeanny M.
I had been pondering getting a pedi all summer. After reading Jennifer L's review, I decided to take a chance and book appointments for me and my sister.
And, I got lost. Curse you, Google Maps! I went to three nail salons in that intersection before we finally guessed it was probably sharing the same strip as the Coast Guard place, and it was. From 33rd, you do not see the store, it's facing inward, towards the Alderwood Mall.
We were 20mins late, I felt horrible! And then of course we saw all their pedi chairs were taken. Sigh. But we only had to wait about 10mins before we got our turn. Yay!
They have 5-6 massage chairs in the spa-pedi area. My sister's chair remote display was broken so she didn't quite enjoy the chair massage, but these are very nice chairs. We soaked in the jetted foot tubs and watched tv (it was on Lifetime, heh) for a few minutes before I was worked on first.
For whatever reason, I received better service/care than my sister. My sister didn't get the nice-smelling blue crystals and her person didn't seem to spend the same amount of time on her as mine did. My sister spent a lot of time just waiting and watching me get worked on, so I felt kind of bad.
The foot massage was awesome and the calf massage was too..until the end where they do this pounding thing on both sides of your calves and it's like: AHHH!!
So then I chilled while my sister was getting finished and then we moved to the drying station. In all, we were there an hour (including the brief wait) and it was only $20, which is a great deal.
They have 5-6 nail tables, but the theme for the day was pedi, I guess it has something to do with the weather. ;)
In all, it was a good experience, good value and service (for me anyway). I did spy a small cut on my big toe though, which explains why that toe was kind of hurty after the treatment. But I'm open to trying other places. Not bad for a first time out in 3yrs!Listed in: Pretty Toes Only!

Yes, you may have to wait a minute for your service or appointment, but I didn't mind because all the people who were there were working their butts off! I was seated for my pedi only 5 minutes after my scheduled appointment and it was definitely one of the better pedicures I have ever had! Next time I'm going to get a manicure too, the massage that comes with it looks AMAZING!

So I just moved to WA 3 weeks ago and had to find a good nail salon. I searched and founded this place which is highly rated and had the most reviews. Came in and got the deluxe pedicure $30 (w/o tip) which is a foot soak with the wax and my feet are supper soft it's amazing!! I haven't had a pedi in a month so I needed the extra TLC lol. The ladies were are very nice and the massage chairs were great. I would like to compare and try another place but I have a feeling I will be back as a regular customer! :-) oh- and it was fast :) Which I like.

Price is GREAT, the massage AMAZING, the detail on the nails is STELLAR, timeliness bits, we had an appointment for 5:30 they didn't start on my nails untill 6:15. Their shellac is not as good as I have had, other places do multiple layers, they did only one(certainly not as strong as my other ones) but the price is right, I will return, I just wish they would improve their shellac techniques. :)

I went to Alderwood Nails a while back for a mani & pedi. They were both great. The ladies were very nice, and I didn't feel rushed at all.
I will be going back in several weeks for another pedi.
Updating my review:
Seems like everytime I go here now, I get hurt. I've been back a couple of times for pedis and the always hurt my feet (i.e. water too hot, cutting me with clippers and filing my foot to the point of bleeding even with me saying owww....owwww).
Also got eyebrows waxed and they tore skin off. Will not be going back anymore.
My friend goes here all the time and has never had a problem, I guess I'm just unlucky. -

Guys, if you haven't had a manicure/pedicure, this is the place to start. The massage chair was one thing, but add in the cute Vietnamese girls and the hand, foot and massage. The back massage given by the girl there was worth $100. All this was included in the price. I left there felling like a king. Return customer for sure. Don't miss this non feminine experience.

i am not a manicure guy but having just gotten a cast off I wanted to get my hands looked like Neanderthal claws. I was super impressed at the above and beyond shoulder/neck massage. I am now a manicure guy, and I will only go here. I would write more but...still have my arm locked in a weird position with a braces.
