Review from Joshua B.
I really enjoy Alderwood mall, it has a lot of great stores to choose from. Right now there are a bunch of remodels going on, so some of the shops have been closed until they are done. The one new store I am really excited for is the new Lego store. How freaking cool it that!?!?! Oh man I can't wait till it opens, I will feel like I am in Lego heaven. SWEEEEEET!!!!!
I would have to say the best part about Alderwood mall are the outdoor stores, especially on a nice sunny day. It's a lot of fun to walk around outside and do some window shopping and people watch. My favorite outdoor stores are Oakley, REI, Williams and Sonoma, my wife would say Coach and American Girl, and the Apple store. Plus located outside they have plenty of food options, such as, PF Chang's, Panera Bread, Blue C Sushi, Macaroni Grill, Cold Stone Creamery, Red Mango, Emerald City Smoothie, and Godiva Chocolatier. It's a beautiful setup outside with a fountain in the middle and plenty of places to sit down and enjoy the weather or to take a break.
My favorite stores to shop at are Buckle, because of the amazing customer service and clothes; the Seattle Team Store, because of the variety of Seattle sports clothing's; Yankee Candle, because hey I love good smelling candles; Bath and Body works, I really like their seasonal hand soaps and it's one of my wife's favorite places; Victoria Secret, I like my wife in sexy underwear; Build a Bear, my daughter loves this place; Disney Store, I have a daughter so the princess stuff is her favorite; and Macy's, because they have a great selection of clothes.
On the south end of the mall is the food court with great varieties to choose from as well, such as Blazing Onion, Panda Express, Taco Time, Sbarro's, Cajun Grill, Charley's Subs, Blue Olive Mediterranean Grill, Japan Cafe, Quizno's, and Thai Go. Just outside the of the food court there is Anthony's, Claim Jumpers and AMC Loews Alderwood Mall 16 theater. There are many options to choose from and you can easily spend a whole day here if you wanted. My advice though is to stay away around holidays because this place gets PACKED and parking is a nightmare, so if you do come here around holidays get here really early to avoid the madness. -
Review from Brad H.
This mall has a nice selection of stores; however, one thing that drives me crazy here is the kiosks. The kiosks at Alderwood Mall have some of the most agressive, pushy and rude sales associates out of any mall I have ever shopped at or worked in. It is very clear that the mall management is not concerened with this, or the problem would not be so obvious at the mall.
The hand cream and sea salt ones are the worst, and their are SEVERAL of them, where I have seen numerous times sales associates litteraly running after people who make eye contact with you saying one minute please mam or sir...
The kids play area has a large projection TV screen that shines on the floor, which creates a traffic bottle neck with kids running around the floor, screaming and chasing the lights. I do not see how this can be safe, being it is in a major traffic flow pass way of the mall. Parking is easy and I have never had a problem finding an open spot, even during the holidays, which is nice.
The food court has a wonderful gas fireplace, in an area the is suprisingly not occupied that often. Three Starbucks in the mall ensure you get a great caffeine fix and a good variety of sit down dinners ensure great food is close by! If this mall would only get rid of the kiosks or at least put some serious restrictions on who they lease to, it would easily be a five star mall.
The mall is also well cared for in terms of ground maintenance, trash cans being emptied and clean restrooms (espicially by American Girl) -

I travel in Asia and visit some of the most exciting places on earth, I have to give this mall a one star (I can't give a negative). Malls in America are so behind the times. In Singapore, Korea and Japan, they write the book on shopping. We are so behind. very boring, New York is not even on the scale.
In Singapore, I see LV like I see Starbucks in the states.
But, Asia is not in Yelp. All these other boring food countries are? How boring.
Ireland? what is their food contribution to the world? and the other countries, nothing. Maybe they have good beer? Okay, that I know they have. But food?

Too bad it's so far away~ If it was closer it would definitely be my go-to mall. I love that it has quite a few stores as opposed to Northgate. :P

Review from Katie O.
Need a mall with pretty much everything? This may not be it, but it's pretty close. They have Daiso, a Japanese store where most items are $1.50. On the other end of the spending spectrum, there's Nordstrom to provide designer goods to northend fashionistas. If you want the in between, they have a Disney Store, Forever 21, Love Culture, Sears, Macy's, etc. Hungry? They have PF Chang's, Macaroni Grill, Auntie Anne's, and a bunch of other eateries.
Whether hungry or style-starved, you have plenty of options here. -
Review from Dale H.
I was surprised. This mall was nicer than I was expecting. I thought that it would be some rinky dink mall out in the suburbs. This was very clean, very nice, and lots of new stuff built in. It has all of the large anchor stores, and good food throughout.

This mall smells like a honey badgers ass. Seriously.
I have to go to Alderwood on occasion, location of the American Girl store, my daughters favorite place on planet Earth at the moment. The stench in this mall makes me want to yack. (14 varieties of scented candles + carmel corn + cheap cologne) = honey badger ass.
Its a giant, vacant, space with shops selling the worst Chinese made junk one can imagine. The food court is grim testament to the success of corn syrup and MSG.
I give it 2 stars only because it has an REI and an American Girl store that are accessible from the outside, so I don't have to brave the HBSOD (Honey Badger Stench of Death). -

Love this place, so many things to poke your head and fingers to lol. So much so, that I bought a few massage machines, literally, as they need to be plugged in.
Highly recommended for just $50 is its one where I use to massage the balls of my feet, though it can be used for the back, shoulders, too. Once it's plugged in, you can grind or rest your feet on top and let its 6 revolving pointed 'golf-size balls' that twist around, so so relaxing...
And the other one you kinda of wear it around your shoulders and its got 3 different modes depending how soft/hard you want it....heated too, as an option.
but there are other neat other things for electronics, kitchen/home stuff ie. air humidifiers, a lot of travel related, guess there's a reason why they're at most airports lol...
Great customer service---they're always willing to help, even opening up boxes too if need be... -

Alderwood Mall has a number of stores to choose from - there's a store for everyone in the family! Know someone into gadgets or massage? Give Brookstone a try! Have a Mac fan in the family? There's an apple store in the outdoor area! Is there a gamer? There's not one but TWO game stops you can visit and choose from! Have a child who just loves to cuddle with a new stuffed animal? Pay Build-A-Bear a friendly visit! They also have multiple fashion and clothing stores that range from Forever 21 and Macy's to cheaper options like JC Penny. They have jewelry stores if you're looking for something special for that special someone in your life as well!
The only time I really find myself avoiding the mall is around the holiday season. It gets way too crowded and the shoppers can get rude and grumpy. Parking can also be a pain if you go later in the day during this time. Otherwise, it's usually not over crowded and parking is fairly easy to find. There are multiple garages and a few different parking lots to choose from surrounding the mall.
Overall, I enjoy visiting Alderwood. They have many stores to choose from. The mall is usually clean, and I've never been disgusted by the restroom facilities in this mall. The outdoor area is also great - especially in the summer when you can stop by cold stone and eat ice cream with others and relax. They also have different restaurants you can enjoy (just don't forget to Yelp about it after)! -

I like Alderwood mall far more than Northgate, why? because they have options, and its huge, The parking is great, and the movie theaters in the area are convenient, they have a cold stone and many other stores and food selections which northgate does not,
If it wasnt so far from where I live I would go more often -

Good place to shop! Has a lot of variety. Now only if there was an H&M there, that would be so awesome!

As suburban malls go, this is the 2nd best around town. It's far better than the Everett Mall and a step up from Northgate. I like the 1/2 indoor 1/2 outdoor concept. They've done enough to attract some classier retailers, but Bellevue Square still tops this mall by a long-shot.

Review from Jeff H.
The Alderwood Mall is a great mall. It's located next to both I-5 and I-405 which makes it a convenient destination for locals on the East or West side. There are a variety of stores inside and outside the mall. I really enjoy the setup on a sunny day. On a rainy day...not so much...however, they do have free umbrella's for visitors to use. They are typically located in the large vases/cannisters just outside the doors that lead to the shopping corridor outside.
The food court (named The Terraces) in this mall is acceptable. I have seen more tempting choices at other malls. Just outside the food-court is Claim Jumpers, Jamba Juice, and a large movie theater.
There is a huge amount of parking available that circles the entire mall...as expected. Typically, I find it easier to get a parking spot close to an entry door just outside Sears. I guess it's not as glamorous as entering the mall through Nordstrom, but if your into convenience like myself, make your not-so-grand entry through Sears.
My most favorite thing about the Alderwood Mall is they open the doors a few hours before any of the stores open so that energetic folks can walk around and get some exercise, or parents can take their early-rising children to the play area. -

Seattle, WA
Alderwood definitely has some of my favorite stores, and more, but the recent-ish additions have really stepped-up this place. I love the outdoor strip (except when it's raining) and it's so convenient to have a variety of restaurants AND a movie theatre close-by.
I've never had issues with parking here either.
Great mall! -

I don't really come here much anymore.
It's closer than Bellevue Square, but Bell Square has better stores. The only stores this place has that I can't get in Bell Square or Seattle (without fighting for parking) is The Limited and REI. There's a lot of of teeny bopper stores here like F21 (Seattle ones are better), Love Culture and Wet Seal.
I would come here for Claim Jumper's though! -

If you're from Hawaii...this mall is like the Pearl Ridge!
Indoor shops with a few outside. Places like Pac Sun, Champs, Forever 21's sister companies, etc...
Not too crowded, A LOT of parking, GREAT restaurants near by/in the mall...BIG OPEN food court! you can almost always find a table (not like Pearl Ridge).
When i first moved to Washington & i was taken to this mall...it literally felt like home. :)
There are even movie theaters right outside!
Check it out if you're around Bothell, WA -

Great mall.
Most of the stores are indoors while there are a few outdoor stores. It's nice walking around inside and then enjoying the nice weather outside. It really sucks walking around outside when it's raining because there aren't any covered pathways.
Love the theater. Probably the best movie theater for miles around. -

I'm not a huge fan of Malls in particular, but one day wanted to spend some one on one with my 11 year old granddaughter. We went to the Alderwood Mall and really did enjoy all the selection of stores, but also I liked the ambiance.

Review from Clover A.
This mall has really grown up. I like the store selection, I like the way it's laid out.
The food choices are great, the food court and the other sit-down places in and around the mall offer enough variety for all.
The theater right out the back door offers tons of choices for films, and the proximity of tons of other businesses makes this a fine destination area.
The outside area is well designed and in the warmer months, a nice little stroll through some really expensive (Jack and Janie, Williams Sonoma) and some more affordable choices (Fuego, Cold Stone Creamery)
Parking is usually a bit tough but I haven't ever NOT found a spot within an easy walk of one of the entrances, but the layout of the entrance to the North is a bit weird, causing pedestrians to become matadors with the incoming traffic.
Because my only real issue with this mall is the horrible play area, I reviewed that separately- I do believe mall staff should somehow police that area but it doesn't detract from your visit if you stay away from it. -
Review from Morgan L.
I am impressed with Alderwood... you've grown up so much.

Review from Marc M.
Alderwood Mall has been a shopping staple of the greater Seattle area for many, many years. Having had a few face lifts, remodels, and continuing expansions over the years, the shopping center has created and maintained an identity of being a true destination for shoppers of all shapes, sizes, and income levels. There truly is a little something for everyone here.
I enjoy the variety of shops inside the mall as well as the newer ones that sprung up as part of the outdoor expansion a few years ago. Of course, me being a movie buff/geek/person, the number one attraction for me is the 16 screen AMC theater located across from the food court entrance to the mall.
Speaking of food, the court area has a pretty standard mall selection with enough to please just about anyone. If you are looking for a little higher end dining experience, there are also many options in and around the mall.
Basically, if you enjoy spending money, this is an ideal place to head to as you will absolutely find something to purchase whether it be a treasured Micky Mouse item at the only Disney Store in the state or a delicious fried cheese stick at Hot Dog On a Stick. Enjoy! -

I have grown up with the Alderwood Mall. I started High School across the street in the fall of 1993. I remember the old food court that was all dark and scary. They used to run us out of the mall during school hours unless we had an off campus pass. When the new food court went in everything changed. That was the beginning of what we see today. I learned how to do drive in the parking lot. We used to walk around that place popping to females. Getting numbers. Shoot I worked at Orange Julius, Ivars, Chicago Pizzeria, and the arcade. Now I can get whatever I need here. I don't have to go to any other mall.

I prefer this mall over the other locals hands down. The parking lot is a nightmare, which is the only reason I can't give it five stars. Despite the two parking garages they put in, the addition of the high end stores and now the American Girl store show that another one, or even two, is needed. Also they need more entrances and exits from the street as congestion getting in and out is also common.

Review from Meghan K.
This is your average mall, with a larger than average selection of stores. I like how most of the stores that I frequent here are on the outside of the mall so I never really have to go inside. I mostly just visit the REI. The inside of the mall is clean and there's plenty of room to walk from store to store but I've never been a fan of the kiosks in the middle where people just won't leave you alone while you're shopping. Parking can be tough if you come during peak times but I've found my sweet spot where there's always a spot or two available (do you think I'm going to tell you? give up my secret? never.)

5 stars - no malls are not my favorite, but this is my favorite mall.
I love this place because they have everything from Penny's to Nordstrom with plenty of little boutiquey chains in between. If I have to find a specific pair of say - black cropped pants, all your options are represented and you can get it done in a day rather than dragging it out over a week.
Not mentioned by Michael O. is the other and rather plentiful mini-malls surrounding said shopping center. It is here that you will be able to find literally anything your little heart needs or desires - for the most part. I guess if you are looking for something REALLY unique, you might want to high tail it back into Seattle.
But seriously, there's a Buca di Bepo, a Black Angus (you know those ads get you wondering if it isn't worth the experience), a Chevy's (which I have to say I am dying to try), Old Navy, The Rack, Best Buy, every furniture store in the world and Target and Kohl's sitting right across the street from each other like Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots. And this is just the tip. As I grow older and fatter, I have begun to appreciate one stop shopping. Alderwood is it.
And the high school sits right in the middle of it all. It's suburban heaven.
Toss in the inevitable and unavoidable Lynnwood mullet sighting and you have yourself a well rounded experience! -
Review from Alli D.
Malls kill my soul a little bit. What really gets me is those dang kiosk things where the commission-based salespeople just hassle you nonstop, no matter how many times you walk by. Seriously, how many people are actually in the market for a) hairpieces, b) shiny-spinning-sun-catcher-dealies, c) cell phone covers, or d) clearwire? Aren't we in a recession here?! (And, by the way, to the person working the perfume counter who appeared to have dumped an entire bottle of scent every five feet throughout the mall, you owe me one sense of smell. Thanks.)
I'm happy to report that there are now approximately seven Forever 21's, or stores that are indistinguishable from it, here. So ladies, go get yer clubbin shirts now.
I was mildly pleased to discover they had an Urban Outfitters though. -

Alderwood Mall...ah...a suburban wasteland. It seems as though Lynnwood has turned into one big-ass mall. The mall is a s#!t show during the holiday season. Don't expect to find a place to park unless you hover and stalk a person walking out to their car. It's crowded all the time so I guess it means the mall kicks ass...I think.
Filled with lots of stores...a food court...and a movie theater.
Do you like to people watch? Go here. If you're a high school kid looking to be retarded, this is your mecha. Fork out some cash for your Jamba juice and get fueled up. You're gonna need it if you want to cover the beast they call 'Alderwood'. -
Review from Emily A.
Best mall in town! The selection of stores is awesome. My favorite part of the mall is the Village- the outdoor shopping area that was added about 6 or 7 years ago. You'll find Pottery Barn, REI, Williams Sonoma, Banana Republic and a lot more. I love the great selection of restaurants too - Blue C Sushi for a quick bite while shopping, or Macaroni Grill, PF Changs, Ruby's Diner, Claim Jumper or any of the other restaurants. It's the only mall I shop at!!!
Parking can be hard to find during the holidays, but that is the case at any shopping center in December. I know that Alderwood just added a 4th level to one of the two parking garages, which should help alleviate that. -

The real gems of Alderwood mall which sets it apart from the rest around Seattle are:
+THE DISNEY STORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!
Be still, my heart!!! The only other Disney store left is in Tacoma.. BLERG.
+Urban Outfitters!
The only UO location with parking. Think about it: Capitol Hill, downtown, U District.
+ForLove 21
A whole store dedicated to just Forever21 accessories! Wowzers.
Other than those stores, Alderwood is an alright mall. Big, but filled with stores and restaurants not worth driving up to Lynnwood from Seattle for.
Not because they suck, but just cause they're regular stores and restaurants you could find in Seattle. Forever 21, Love Culture, American Apparel, Metropark, Banana Republic, Coach, Express, Helly Hansen, etc.
Restaurants attached include Macaroni Grill, Claim Jumper and Blue C Sushi. There is also a movie theater and lots of shopping in the nearby area.
Oh, there are weekly blood pressure screenings once aweek and quarterly health seminars. Yeah, you know how there's always a bunch of old people walking around malls in the early morning for exercise? Well, Alderwood -really- encourages that and gives out Lap Cards to track your walking. If you walk 15 laps you could enter in a prize drawing!!!

I'm not a huge fan of malls. I used to be...back in the day, when I needed something to do and someone to drop me off because I was too young to actually do anything fun...
...but if I need to go to a mall, this is the one I pick. This is my favorite mall, as sad as that sounds. I love this stupid place, with it's huge variety of stores, gigantic movie theatre with stadium seating, and plenty of restaurants to choose from.
The recent makeover and addition of new stores have made this place even better than it used to be.
I actually live closer to Northgate Mall than this mall, but I will make the trek to Lynnwood because the stores are better and the layout is better.Listed in: Lynnwood Businesses

I love this mall simply because it has an F21, an F21 accessories store, UO, Nordy's, American Apparel, and a Macy's with the best selection of items all in one mall..... Seriously ladies, Macy's and Nordy's at Alderwood has a bomb selection of shoes and clothing.
Another con: how they have outdoor shopping w/ slightly higher end stuff and the movie theater is walking distance.
Food Court: meh...not so much. -
Review from Katherine I.

I don't understand everyone's gripe with parking: GO TO THE GARAGE!! Seriously, never had a problem finding a parking spot here.
Aside from the parking thing, this place is wonderful. It's nowhere near the ghettoness of the Tacoma mall, has better shops than the Supermall, and well, it's certainly not the Everett mall.
The outdoor section (Borders, Coldstone, etc) is nicely laid out and easy to walk. The indoor is spacious without feeling ominous. I enjoy the fact that I can walk this place with my daughter between the Hubster and I, or just with her holding onto one of our hands, without too much fear of some ghetto boy bowling her over (as has happened at some of the more "ghetto" malls). No, she doesn't use a stroller, she's too independent for that!
I adore this place, and whenever we want to just peruse the mall, this is out first and only choice. I just wish they had slightly more seating throughout. -
Review from Sarah M.
You know, I grew up around Bellevue Square and this is the only mall that I had ever ventured to since it was less than 5 minutes away. But over the years, the mall became SO high end to the point where you wished there was one of those trashy stores or kiosks where you could buy a $5 pair of leggings and earrings.
After a recent move to the Lynnwood area, my spirits were lifted when I discovered this mall. And how on earth had I never been here before? I LOVE the fact that they have a Forever 21 for cheap basics, a hair straightener kiosk (that I got roped into and bought one...and love it) a Nordstrom, and some nicer stores too if you're in the mood (and budget) for it!
They have a ton more food options than Bellevue Square. It's nice that they have a food court so that you can eat quickly on the go - at Bellesquare, it seems like they have more nicer, sit down restaurants and fewer options to eat.
All in all, I'm a fan and glad that I've adopted this as my new mall! -
Review from Dan L.
So... I hate malls.
If you do too, avoid this place on a Fri, Sat, or Sun. It is insane.
It's nice to see such booming retail experiences being had, but holy crap is that place a clusterfuck when it is busy.
They have a nice selection of stores. There is surely something to satisfy anyones need to shell out cash.
I heart REI so right this place gets a boost in its rating just for that. -
Review from Jeff H.
The outside pavilion was a nice touch, but it wasn't enough to elevate this mall to same heights as Bellevue Square for example.
They added a few good stores outside, Apple Store, Coach, Godiva, but for the most part it's all food related places.
Parking here is a nightmare, especially by Nordstroms, so be prepared to park and walk. -

Honestly I really dislike malls these days. I usually can spend about 30-45 minutes in one then I gotta bail.
BUT Alderwood is that special place for me, each time I'm back home visiting family I have to swing by it and wander around for a bit. the place has really grown since I left & it's cool to see the change.
That is until I realize there isn't anything I'm interested in buying -

When I was five, I fell into one of the fountains while wearing my Sunday best. It destroyed me, at the time. Now every time I bring someone to Alderwood Mall I exclaim, "OH! There's the fountain I fell in! Isn't that great?"
People think I'm strange...but whatever.
Nowadays, I like this mall because of its selection: Belle Square, downtown and Northgate always leave something to be desired, whether it's an Orange Julius, selection in the mall itself, or helpful employees at Nordstrom. Alderwood has all of these and more - plus, it's all inside one building, so you're not freezing your ass off like you would be downtown. -
Review from Corey G.
Do I freeze, do I get mad, do I sit in a corner and cry, or do I sulk? I think I froze.
Made a trip to the Alderwood Mall yesterday with a very simple task. Get in and get out with a new iPhone. I knew it would be a bad when we had trouble finding a parking spot--we were about as far as you could be from the mall, too! Cars hovered like vultures scanning for people leaving for their cars. This mall needs a stimulus package with infrastructure tops on the list--in other words, they need a bigger parking garage....I'm thinking the size of Safeco Field.
It's not just Xmas season, too. It's like this quite a bit. Well, I'm not a mall person, so maybe for some people this really gets their blood flowing and they love it (you anti-corey g.'s are mysterious).
Their parking lot is painfully too small for the traffic they receive. Simply getting out of the parking lot is video game in the making.
My solution, have a drink, let my brother drive, and then quietly giggle as the "f-bombs" ensue. :) -
Review from Joe L.
It's a respectable local mall with the major chain stores represented here. The outdoor part of the mall, The Village, is a nice addition to the complex lined with Banana Republic, Pottery Barn, Clarks, REI.
The stores are smaller so they don't carry a lot of selections but the mall is a good alternative to Bellevue Square or South Center if you are in the north part of the Seattle area.
Good alternative to Bellevue Square and South Center
