Have you ever bought something wrong or bad & they are still rotten in your pantry or the fridge (you still have the receipts, too)? Well, that's me!

So, one day I bought this awful white chocolate mousse box (2 pk), I was very annoyed and decided that was the day ----- I will return this darn thing. I DID and brought the wrong receipt, of course!!!   I called myself name, was about to throw the awful goods in the trash and forget about the whole thing.  The staff took my bag, checked the price and gave me cash. Yay!!!

I love the Self-Checkout here because you are not ALONE!!!  A friendly clerk is always there to help you find a Banana code (I hate looking up the code for a banana).

NOTE TO EVERYONE: DO NOT BUY WHITE CHOCOLATE MOUSSE FROM A BOX. PLEASE ASK ME FOR THE RECIPE OR LOOK UP ONLINE.

    DIRTY!!!

This store is so out of place in West Linn it is almost laughable. I have tried on several occasions to shop at this Albertsons as they often have the Redbox movie I want and it would just be convenient to grab a few things while I am there. Sadly most times I can't even get past the produce department without deserting my cart and heading out the door. The real kicker is they seem to be the most expensive store in town.

Being in West Linn, at the foot of very affluent neighborhoods, I thought this store would've been much nicer. The floors were dirty. Employees were unfriendly. Many expired products on the shelves. Not to mention a ton of VERY sketchy looking people shopping there. (I know Albertsons can't help that though.) Something about the whole place seemed very off, so I gave up and my daughter and I bought the few things in our cart and went home. Go to Safeway up the hill instead, or even BETTER, Market Of Choice on the other side of WL on 43.

This particular review is about the Alberstons location in West Linn.

Unfortunately, the prices are high, compared to the Safeway just up the road, and the selection not-as-diverse as you'd hope.  There is a Lamb's Palisades market a couple of miles away as well, that offers a lot of higher-end items at the same price.  I could only attribute this to the prime location that they have, and being located right next to the freeway.

The butcher is very helpful and friendly, and the meats are very fresh.  Not charging folks for bringing meat that they pick from the store is good, too (For example, buying Foster Farms chicken, and then having them slice it there).

Their wine section gets five stars from me, however, as they really go out. Depending on your mood, and whether the money in your pocket jingles or crinkles, you can get ultra-high-end Stags' Leap Cellar, or Mad Dog 20/20.

The produce section is good, too. I feel like a little too much of the store is dedicated to the bakery, donuts, and other frosted-cookie stuffs, and the selection of different toilet paper is comprehensive, to say the least.

The store is clean, and the staff are friendly. Paul goes out of his way to help me whenever I am there.

The bottle return area (located outside) is expectedly dirty, but as the bins fill quick, I routinely have to buzz for help to have them unloaded; on more than one occasion, the emptying of these bins has taken over 20 minutes! I just about asked if I could help, because even if it was just walking around back and putting the cans wherever, there is no way it should have taken that long.  I wound up selling my cans to a guy who was waiting behind me; I just wanted to get home and get out of there (I had been doing cans for over an hour).

A lot of people like the auto-checkout, but I am indifferent; invariably, I'll need to have one of the staff come and help with produce, so it's not like I am avoiding human contact (and I don't mind it anyway).

All-in-all, a fine establishment. It could be that the competition located nearby is just so superb that it comparatively makes Alberstons West Linn look not-as-great, but this place is solid, and receives a three-star "This place is solid" rating.

This location is clean, well stocked and has the zippiest self-check kiosks I've ever seen (those sensors are sensitive).  But, prices are higher and they don't have the same quantity and selection of grocery items as my beloved Freddies.  Not to mention all of the other bits and bobs that make Freddies my one-stop shop.  It also can't compare to the speciality stores like Trader Joe's, Whole Foods or Market of Choice.

This is the store closest to home and Albertson's has saved me on more than one occasion when I've needed that one last ingredient for a recipe or bag of ice at the last minute when guests are on their way.

As Albertsons go, this one is one of the nicer ones! It is super clean and the staff is always very nice. I've been coming here for years (it is a really convenient stop when I'm at work), and I generally leave the store with some sort of fantastic meat item which is on sale (I am the KING at finding meat deals-- good meat).
One thing which has really impressed me about Albertsons is this thing called "Price Integrity" (which I learned about at this location); price integrity is: if something (anything) is marked as a sale item, but ISN'T on sale any longer, then the item IS................wait for it.......... ..............FREE! I have scored twice now at this location!

    YESSSS!! FREE TOILET PAPER!!!!
    YESSSS!! FREE SALAMI!!!!

Oh, and there is a Starbucks here too, and I have been bringing in my own mug for a "normal" cup of joe, and they only have been charging me $0.50! Best deal I've found!

Something about being able to go into a grocery store, pick up your items, and check yourself out without any human contact really lights my fire.  Self Checkout FTW!!
