This is rating about the Sav-on pharmacy only.  Definitely zero stars.  Prescriptions never ready when they say they will be.  They forget to send in requests to the Doctors when I have asked  for  refills.  They claim they have sent in the request but when I end up calling the Doctors office the Doctor states that they never received a request.
I have had to return to the pharmacy several times thinking it was filled only to find out they never even sent the request to the Doctor.  When I finally get my prescription the tablet count is completely wrong!   The only thing worse than their incompetence is their consistent rudeness ..don't ever go there, I know I never will again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I luv fat albertsons! WHERE A KID CAN BE A KID. i enjoy the charming shaped balloons, state of the art restroom (with toilet paper!), and the friendly employees. (that includes the angry looking lady at the bakery department) i have great memories there. When i was young, i was reaching for the cookie samples in the bakery shelf. I was too short and knocked the whole plate over. the angry looking bakery woman gave me the evil eye and i started crying. happiest day of my life. i am not kidding-they literally didn't put samples our for over a year after that. On st. patrick's day, I wanted to spread a little cheer. I wore my green footsy pajamas and ran around the store while attempting the irish jig. Good times, good times!!!

I'm not a "regular shopper" here but was TOTALLY IMPRESSED with our exceptional service last Saturday!  My GF's grandmother is from New York and gets incredibly excited when we pop in with her favorite breakfast.

    Our task?

To bring a  "taste of home" to the coolest lady in Del Mar...you guessed it, lox & bagels!

We were kinda late and rushed into Albertsons for capers, cream cheese, and a red onion.  Ummm, these items are NOWHERE near one another.  I looked to my left and saw like a thousand rows!  Time was of the essence, we have salmon in the car folks!!!!!

We both started to panic...I was about to wander around like a shopping zombie but a voice came outta nowhere...

"Can I help you locate any items today?", said the young man helping out at the U-scan lanes.

My girlfriend told the clerk what we needed to find, and without hesitation he rattled off 3 different aisle numbers.  He even warned us the capers tend to "hide" in their aisle and gave us CRITICAL CAPER INTEL that made locating these tangy bastards a breeze.

WOW!  Pretty damn impressive!  I'm so used to "blank stares" from clerks I literally passed out in the store.  Yup, I hit the dirt in absolute "Customer Service Shock" while my GF picked up the items we needed to complete our mission.  I later was awakened in the car with all the items we needed and a hot cup of Starbucks coffee...nicely played Albertsons, nicely played!

I give this grocery store 8 "Helpless Shoppers" out of 10

This store has some good recipes and a discount rack in the back. It is a litle overpriced but the people here are generally nice and depending on who you ask informative. Nothing special tho.

    i really like this supermarket...why?
well...i live VERY close to Ralphs...but the customer service sucks and historically prices have been outrageous, and parking is a nightmare in the del mar highlands...(but i still stop by there for convenience)...but if i am going grocery shopping..for real...i tend to go to Albertsons...it is worth the extra drive.
the prices are good, the employees are super friendly...they actually remember us! that in itself is a reason to shop here...the parking lot is calm and easy to drive through.  no crazy Carmel Valley soccer mom's here.  There is a good toy section if you need a last minute gift (of course Gepetto's is across the street)...There is a good selection of unique/specialty items (not as much as Ralphs)...oh and there is a Starbucks inside...super bonus!
i just feel good shopping here.

Sometime I stop here for a bagel or something in the morning.  A few things I have noticed about this place:

    1) its always super clean
    2) The flowers are fresh, and not on the verge of death or even close!
    3) Fresh produce (expensive but whatev)
    4) The sauce and "ethic" food aisle has things I have never seen before, and I have to wonder if this is because its a "rich area" Albertsons  ?  I don't know.

The thing that takes the cake and why I gave 5 stars is because this Albertsons has something that is hard to find.  I am not sure where there is an Albertsons near me, but when I am driving up and down the I-5 in my work car, and its hot outside and I think "What would be an awesome treat right now, and where can I get it?"

Choco Tacos.  At Albertsons, and they are usually on sale for a $1!  Thats what I'm talking about.

Just your basic Albertsons.  I go here because it's the closest...I live 3 miles away.  Otherwise, I wouldn't come here.  It's a grocery store...has food that you eat.  Does Yelp really want me to review this, haha?

Yes, five stars for Albertson's.  Five stars not because they have some super fancy/rare product that no other supermarket carries, but because of their hours.  How many times have I driven home and realized that I needed to go and pick up Horizon organic non-fat milk?  How many times have I realized that I ran out of green tea and absolutely cannot start my morning without a good, hot cup of soothing green tea?

Imagine my surprise when I browsed the hot cereal section and realized that they carried a specific flavor of a specific sub-type of Quaker oatmeal that I never even knew existed!  Of course, they run out of stock of that particular flavor more than other flavors, but that's only because it's so popular.

I love how Albertson's opens at 5 AM and closes at midnight.  It allows me to go at those hours to avoid long lines (which also don't seem to exist because they open up knew checkout lines whenever there seems to be more than a few people waiting) and also grab "must-have-emergency products" without waiting until the next day.

The cashiers are always SO nice, too! Even at 11:00 PM, when I'm sleepy and dropping things right and left. They joke with me and make me laugh, and never once have I experienced the "I-really-don't-want-to-be-here-but-I-have-to-and- if-you-ask-me-how-I'm-doing-I-really-will-tell-you -that-I'd-rather-be-somewhere-else-than-here" conversation at this Albertson's (or at any Albertson's, for that matter).

They also have a Starbucks coffee stand with pastries and everything inside the store, so in case you need your morning/noon/night java fix before stocking up on groceries, drop by the Starbucks hut.

I live less than a mile away yet travel way farther since this place sucks! It's less than 2nd rate to Vons in SB. The main problem is their lines. They're always backed up and even when they had their " 3in line and we'll open another" they didn't. Not even close. Never go there if you want to run in and get something. It can take an easy 20 minutes for a single item.

Also, their "deals" are deceptive. When they say 2 for $5 that does not mean 1 for $2.50. OK-not that it should, but at Vons it does. 10 for $10...be careful... they won''t state it clearly.

Really my main problem is the loooong lines. When I walked in today and was ready to check out with 3 items the manager asked me how I was. Well, not great when I was 6th in line, the express line? Then they opened up a register next to me and the Albertsons worker behind me just went over and got in line first. Forget about "I'll take the next person in line"...which would have been the person 4th person in front of me.

Incompetent, understaffed and unqualified to be a supermarket. I'll gladly use my extra 20 minutes to go elsewhere!

I have been shopping here with my family for a good number of years when they used to be a Big Bear Supermarket.  Things have really changed here (for the better).  They now have a couple of electric carts which is great for my dad since he does not walk very well.  They also have a Starbucks inside as well as a Sav On Pharmacy that fills prescriptions while you shop.  If you want to rent a movie, there is a Redbox video rental machine outside their front door.  One new feature is four do-it-yourself check out lanes that were added a few months ago which helps to cut down the lines at the check out stands.  This store has always been really clean and the staff has always been very friendly.  Even though I live in La Jolla, I tend to shop at this store more because they are less crowded than the Vons and Ralphs near me.

I have a serious bone to pick with this place.  I always buy Lean pockets Three cheese broccoli flavor because they are quick, portable and relatively low calorie and they don't have meat in them so I like to eat them for breakfast (if you think thats weird, whatever).  Anyways, THEY DON'T CARRY IT ANYMORE!  The one thing I always buy, they have to get rid of.  I'm so pissed I will not go to this store anymore, I will go to Vons up the street instead.  Except they do have a Redbox which I like to rent movies from.
