Like: Huge, wide aisles with large clear signs.
Dislike: Too big, takes too long to get around the whole store, bland shopping experience. Pricey groceries. -
Review from Dave L.
This is the closest big supermarket to my house. However, I rarely go to Albersons to buy groceries. Why? Well, let me tell you.
First, the store is big, but there is nothing really special about what is on the shelves. This store could do much better with its selection of meat, produce, spices, and especially liquor.
Second, I have found that they are often out of what I am looking for. Not good.
Third, the prices are high compared to other grocery stores. If you buy everything with the Albertsons card, you can do okay. Unfortunately, it rarely works out that you can buy everything you need on sale.
Check out lines are slow. I have rarely seen this store very busy. However, for some reason, the lines are super slow. Good thing they have those add TVs above the registers.
If I could separate out the bakery, I would give it four stars as a stand alone. They do a good job on birthday cakes. We get them for our boys' birthdays. The decorations are adequate and the prices are very competitive.Listed in: Tustin & 17th Area Reviews, Grocery Stores

The only good things I have to say about this Alberton's is that it is huge and it is one of the only major chain grocery stores (i.e. Ralphs, etc) in the area. A major negative thing about this store is their prices. They are EXTREMELY HIGH! I feel like I am paying for their recent remodel every time I go there.
But, the absolute worst thing about this store is that there is halfway house for drug addict right around the corner. The past 2 times I went to this store a fight almost broke out! The first time, a group of tweakers were in front of me in line. Another tweaker came up, pushed past me and started yelling at another tweaker that she would be waiting outside for her. Low and behold...when I left the store I saw them screaming at each other in the parking lot.
The 2nd time, a heroin junkie who could barely stand up (and only had 2 teddy bears in his basket...creepy) was yelling at the checker saying she called him a "white guy" and that she was discriminating against him. I heard what she said...she said "was that guy first" not "that white guy." He walked away but later came back yelling that she called him a gringo and a guero. She said "Sir...just so you know...I am white too."
Now, I have nothing against people trying to get help for their addictions...my problem is that security was nowhere in sight when these instances took place.
So, I am now only going to shop at Superior Grocers down the street. I'd love to see a crackhead try to start some sh*t in that store! -

This place isn't the best but it definitely isn't the worst either. It is your pretty average Albertsons and grocery store. It has just about anything you could ever want or be looking for at some what reasonable prices. I still prefer to get my meat and veggies at Henry's (now Sprouts) but for just about everything else I'll come here.
The big plus for me is that this place is within walking distance. I get in I get out no hassle. I really don't mind the self check out option either. I've been using it for a long time and I find it is faster then standing in line waiting for some slow poke to unload a full cart of groceries when I have one or two things.
The only issue I have with this place is that they split the isles up. Usually in a grocery store you can walk on either side of the isle and see what is in it. At this store though you might miss what you want because the side you can see from the right hand side of the store is a different isle then what you can see on the left. There are also isles that go the whole way down while some only go halfway so there is no easy way to simply walk down the middle so you can see everything at once. That is my biggest issue.
I will keep coming here for stuff I forget or for emergencies but this isn't my grocery store of choice. -

I like this place, clean, nice employees that bag stuff, decent priced groceries.
Produce and meat dept prices are a little high.
I like the super wide range of quality cheeses they have (1st aisle and the island by the meat counter).
But the thing that bothers me is that Albertsons is trying to convince me that self check out is better option for me. Get this, there is a person standing there teaching us how to operate the machines ourselves so that one day they will no longer be necessary. Everybody do your fellow man a favor and go stand in line. We don't have aprons on they aren't paying us to ring ourselves up. Lets help out the single mother of 3, the ex gangbanger and the guy with a recent DUI trying to get back on his feet by standing in line for a few extra mins and keeping them all employed. Don't let big man upstairs fire all the employees so you can save save 10 cents on your cheerios.
How does this idea sound - "I own a store. Alright you come into my store, you pick out all the shit you want, you throw it in a basket that only works on my property, you ring yourself up and you get the HELL out of my store!
Don't let those greedy CEOs fire people and collect bigger bonus checks! -

What can you say about a grocery store? Well, I'm a huge fan of the FRESH NEW BATCH of fried chicken. If you get the older earlier in the day chicken....yeah....not so good. I've taken fried chicken home 15min away, but its just not the same. So, I have to walk down the street to buy it, and eat it within minutes of purchase.
The service/ladies in the deli section are sweet and helpful, everywhere else....not so cavity forming.
Is it just me though....or does walking closer to the meat section smell kind of funky? Or are all grocery store meat sections like that? -

Even though there are other grocery stores closer to us, this tends to be the one we frequent the most.
This is a very spacious Albertsons and has a lot of variety. Their CVS section has a lot of neat things as well.
They usually have everything I am looking for, except for my snickers ice cream bars. lol! and the checkout staff are almost always very friendly and helpful.
No complaints here! -

It's by my house, which is why I'm there so much. Always clean, always stocked with what I need, occasionally hard to get good produce and I don't go near their seafood since I saw some shrimp that needed to be in the garbage. The staff is friendly enough and even if there's a long line it doesn't take forever to check out and pay.

It's official!!!! Albertsons is out to get me. I never liked this spot to begin with but as of 12:45 PM 9/25/07, they made this sh*t personal. Something tells me they sent an employee spy to track my shopping habits and remove all the club card discount off my entire shopping list. Ugh!!!
Here is my list w/ potential savings that never materialized.
1) Zone bars - $1.39 ($1.00 w/ club card)
2) Smart Water - $1.49 ($1.00 w/ club card)
3) Cottage Doubles - $1.59 ($1.20 w/ club card)
4) FJ Chicken Breast - $3.79 ($3.00 w/ club card)
5) Muscle Milk - $6.99 ($5.99 w/ club card)
6) South Beach tortilla - $6.00 ($5.00 w/ club card)
To add insult to injury, they advertised Red Bull 4 pack at $5.99. Only to find out at the register that it didn't apply to the Sugar Free Red Bulls.
Straight up whack!!!!! I'm so done with Albertsons. -
Review from Corina S.
It is a very spacious Albertson's, Their deli lacks what other Albertson's seem to have. Being that it is a chain, I have expectations that it should have everything the others do with the same quality. Their customer service pretty much sucks, it is like an Albertson's employee social gathering there. It is the only decent grocery store in the area and of course it has two Redbox's!

It's a grocery store. Not really much to say. I wanted to post a review for the ladies that work in the fried food/deli section. They are always very helpful and friendly to us every time that we visit. That alone makes this store worth going to as opposed to all of the other choices.
